Great food, great service. Always pleased with the good. Fish, shrimp, sides, etc. the seafood is fresh n melts in your mouth. So happy Chef La has brought this delicious food to ATL.

Fish was perfectly battered (not really battered, but coated) and fried. Just the right amount of breading. Two very large pieces of fish (catfish) came with my sandwich. It came with a side and I got fries. The only reason I am not giving five stars is the fish itself was a little mushy. I’m not sure if overcooked or sometimes depending on the season, catfish can be mushy. Lettuce and tomato were very fresh and the tarter sauce is homemade. I don’t live nearby, but if I did I would be back many times. The staff (only one at the time) was great. It’s good to be at an establishment where people actually care about their job.

I’ve been here over 30 – 35 times. It’s become hard to count now based on the number of times I’ve just picked up the smoked wings from here.
Everything is A1, including the Sham sauce, ranch, and tarter. Also, the fact that Jeff Teague aka Teadue loves the sampler platter should be a testament of its own.
The fried tilapia, shrimp, catfish nuggets, and whitefish are all my favorite in that order. The butter toast is awesome as well.
Do yourself a favor and try a catfish sandwich w/​LTO and let me know if you don’t like it.
They are also in the rib game on weekends.

Great smoked wings! Small intimate place. Lots of take-​out but enough room to eat in also. Recommend.

This fish is really really good! The flavor of the fish is phenomenal. Truly seasoned to perfection and lightly breaded. I was surprised because of so many «best fish ever» fails.
The string beans were flavorful but prepared different than what I’m used to. They were dry, not in a bad way, just not dripping up juice. Also they weren’t cut so if you prepare small bits of string beans, you won’t like these full length beans.
The cabbage wasn’t too bad but not as well seasoned as the other items I ordered. Was definitely not a fan on the chucks of cabbage, that I had to break up.
Service was a little slow but it was well worth the wait.

I am from the deep south and I love myself some seafood. I used the Unilocal app and found this place that is only 4 minutes away from my home. I read the reviews and decided to give it a try! I was greeted very kindly when I walked in. I’m thinking to myself how did I miss it after living in this area for two years. I went with the catfish and shrimp plate. I can say that the catfish was a hefty portion and seasoned to perfection with just the kick it needed. The shrimp had a great flavor but were a bit tough, maybe left in the fryer a bit too long. I also ordered the highly recommended peach lemonade which was amazing! The prices are reasonable and I can say that I will return! I am a stickler for good seafood and it’s well worth going back! I will try the smoked wings next and maybe the sides! Thank you for great customer service and food. I would definitely recommend to my friends.

Fish is typical like any other fish restaurant and the Cold slaw was given in a sample cup. My first time visiting. But again this is just my opinion. I’m a seafood person therefore my expectations are higher then some.

Danged good. Period. The fish and the chicken are both delicious. They can fry seafood and smoke wings to perfection! Last time I was there, I overhead a customer ordering her fish grilled instead of fried, definitely trying it on my next visit. The business is small and a bit of a hole in the wall but then again don’t they always have the best food. I may have to start wearing a hat and sunglasses to disguise myself I’m starting to visit so often.

First and foremost; everything Chef La makes is excellent! We just moved to the area and can’t get enough of this place — EVERYTHING we’ve tried has been five star. If I had to suggest something it would be the fish and shrimp combo or the smoked wings. The cole slaw is the best I’ve ever had! Keep in mind the dine-​in space is small with just 3 – 4 tables only but I actually enjoy because he brings all condiments to us — no need to work abt having enough. Don’t let the location full you!!! He’s serving up food better than the fancy guys!

This place is a gem. Not only is the food superb, the service is quick, and it’s a black owned business! I always get the sampler platter with the 3 smoked wings, which are to die for, a piece of whiting fish, that’s seasoned to perfection, and three extra large shrimp! They throw in a piece of perfectly buttered Texas toast, not too greasy or salty, and some fries, and it’s phenomenal! Not to mention, they have this like award winning peach lemonade, literally! It’s awesome! Me and my husband love it and will continue to support the business!

The shrimp burger with crab mayo is the best! Whenever I have friends in town I take them by Chef La’s to get a shrimp burger. So far everyone loves it as much as I do. Last week I finally tried something different. I had fried tilapia, wings, and shrimp. It was very good but I didn’t get much of the tilapia because I was sharing it with a friend. I got the evil eye when I tried to get another piece. Next time I won’t be sharing.
I’ve also met the owners and they are very pleasant. I hope this business continues to do well.

Great Fried Perch and to die for Blacken Catfish. Still have to work on their sides a bit more, but over all a great place for fried fish sandwiches!

Fish tacos! Cheap prices! A lot of food! In a shopping plaza on Cobb Pkwy.
The cashier was very helpful and knowledgable about the menu! Definitely will try this place out more often

Friendly service with a smile every time I go in. It’s a great small owned business. The food is always awesome even though I mainly get the smoked wings every time I go. Everyone kept saying the peach lemonade is great so I just bought
daughter loves the fish and shrimp kids plate. The slices of cake are awesome also. Yummy in the tummy.

Delicious seasoning and breading!
I stopped in to Chef La’s Fish Fry while out and about on errands and in search of take out lunch. Scout Mob tempted me with yummy sentences about the peach lemonade and exceptional seasoning on their fried fish.
I ordered the tilapia meal with cole slaw and mac n’ cheese and a bottle of the much raved about peach lemonade. I scarfed it down with the ferocity of a lion on the Savannah grasslands. It was delicious!
I was offered a lot of help by the delightful young lady manning the cash register as well, and she did not lead me astray.
I will be back for more!

Scout Mob strikes again!!! Oh how I love my scoutmob app! It took me right to where some good olé hot fish was being sold and gave me half off!!! I actually had this place bookmarked for a while so it seem like all combinations came together after asking my sister to meet me to get something to eat. Short story short, my sister stood me up and after waiting for her for 15mins in the parking lot I ended up eating alone .
I was greeted right away by the Chef, he made a few suggestion from his menu, I ended up getting the 2 piece tilapia and 6 piece shrimp meal. It came with a side of cold slaw and fries for $ 12.99, I also ordered a peach lemonade, so my tab ended up being a little over $ 7, not bad huh??? The food is cooked as ordered and It was good and hot. The fish was cooked to perfection. I normally pile on the tarter and hot sauce, but there was no need for a lot of sauces, the fish had a really good flavor (wonder if he will give me his seasoning secrets-​lol). I decided against a dessert this time, but the peach lemonade was really good, not as cold as I would have liked it, but sweet and good.
The place is very small so I found myself in conversations with a few of the other people dining in… so I wasn’t so lonely dining alone. LOL.
I must say, I like Chef LA and his fish fry joint and I will definitely be back soon, I’m getting hungry thinking about it. Lol

Good stuff! I planned to grab a shrimp basket or get the $ 3.99 Unilocal fish & fry special. But then I read the reviews and decided on the whiting meal with collards and mac&cheese, lemon pound cake and peach lemonade. The peach lemonade is just as delicious as advertised. This will definitely be a staple on all my future visits.
One review said the fish was bland so I got the Sham sauce. The fish was seasoned well enough for me but the Sham sauce is tasty. The Mac and cheese is good too. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the collards are… different. Not bad, but different.
The portions are big enough for me to have fish and greens for another meal. I ate all the Mac and cheese ;-). The lemon pound cake is also good, I could only eat a pinch for this review because my belly is full!
I got take out around noon on a Wednesday and the place was empty, so I really can’t comment on speed of service. There are a few tables for dining in but I can imagine it gets crowded during peak times.
I’ll definitely be back and I can’t wait for hubby to try it.

Still on my obsession with seafood…
I stopped by because of the other Unilocal reviews, I had an order of 6 fried shrimp and fried talipia which wasn’t that bad.
I did however have a piece of that homemade lemon pound cake and I was so pleased with how delicious it was and I normally don’t like lemon flavored cakes.
I would come back for the customer service alone, the lady at the counter has an awesome personality, which I find pretty rare at small businesses unfortunately.
