I didn’t feel like setting up this review in the format I am accustomed to. lets put it like this. it is not the cat’s meow or anything. decent spot, good seafood. decent surf and turf option, nothing to rave a parade for in downtown vinings. if you are local, try it out. more than 10miles out, save your time

Really wanted to like this place but was so under-​whelmed. Went for early dinner (6:30pm) on a Saturday. The website makes the interior look a lot better than it actually is. The furniture & fittings looked cheap and the dining room layout awkward. They had a huge ac unit with the duct tape around it and hanging out of a window in the dinning room. It looked really tacky. Service and our server were fine have had better. The food however was a huge disappointment. We ordered oysters (west coast) just ok, crab dip (the dill over powered the dish) and a fancy lobster grilled cheese sandwich to start. The lobster cheese sandwich was the only good ap. Hubs went all out and had crab cake, lobster Mac n cheese and asparagus. He said the best thing was the asparagus. I had grilled snapper and a side of spinach. The spinach was the best part if my entrée. The bill came to just over $ 200 with tip & 4 alcoholic drinks. Totally not worth the money spent and we won’t be going back.

Sorry to see Vinings Fish Company go. I loved having a good seafood restaurant in the neighborhood.

Flat out the best clam chowder outside of the northern seaboard. Quiet easy going atmosphere. Carlie will make any drink you desire at the bar. You can sit outside on the veranda and enjoy the evening air or sit at the bar while watching the British Open. My first visit I thought the food was a little salty, mentioned it to the manager and each visit since it was spot on. Try the sagria, I hear they stole the recipe from Spain and it is wonderful.

I keep coming back so I must like it! Last time my Mahi Mahi entrée was bland & I really appreciated the fact that the chef sent out a complimentary dessert. That alone confirmed it was worth yet another visit! This evening I enjoyed the delicious roasted beet salad… Just love the flavors of the cold beets, caramelized onions, arugula and fried feta croutons! I had the crab cake appetizer as my entrée because for me it is more than enough. Yummy crab cake with creamed spinach & capers! Love the marriage of the flavors!
Outside deck dining overlooking the Jubilee is very, very nice… Even in the rain!
Service tonight was slow but…

The Vinings Fish Company now occupies the space where that horrible burger place used to be. I think that building went through several restaurants. I hope The Vinings Fish Company doesn’t succumb to that curse and doesn’t go out of business like the unfortunate restaurants before it.
Just like the name implies, it’s a seafood restaurant. It looks fancy inside. I even saw some people dressed in suits. On the other hand, I didn’t feel out of place with my casual dress.
After you order, they bring out some hush puppies and cheese biscuits. The hush puppies were overcooked. When I tried to cut into it, it was like a rock. When I finally got my knife through it, it crumbled apart. The cheese biscuits tasted good though.
For appetizer, we ordered the Oyster Rockefeller. They tasted okay. Some oysters tasted too salty. Also, the oysters had a lot of sand in them. I wouldn’t mind it if I get the occasional sand, but every oyster had a lot of sand in it. It had so much sand, I hoped I would find a pearl in one of them. I never had this much problems with sand in my oysters at any other places. Most times, I never get sand. I wonder if they even soak and clean the oysters before shucking them?
I tried The Pan Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops. They seared some of the scallops fine, but some barely had any sear on them. I wished it was more consistent. The butternut squash risotto tasted good and seemed like a fine risotto. It didn’t have much «tooth» in the rice, but overall, I liked it.
One main problem I had with The Pan Seared Jumbo Sea Scallops was the truffle oil. At first, I wanted to like the truffle oil. But at the end, it just overpowered the dish. It made the dish taste like nail polish. I would recommend them not using truffle oil. I think it would improve the dish.
I also had the Pan Seared Chilean Sea Bass. The sear on the bass was weak. It looked barely brown. Well, at least they didn’t ruin the bass. It tasted good. The tomato buerre blanc blended nicely with the dish. I liked the vegetables it came with. It was a good dish.
The staff were super nice and gave good service. They seemed busy, which is a good thing to see. I don’t know how new they are, but they need some tweaking of their dishes to make it good.
One other negative about The Vinings Fish Company is that they’re overpriced for the quality of food we got. I love seafood and want to see more great seafood place in the area. There were so many annoying things at this place that I can’t be a fan yet. So I give it 3 stars.

Loved this place and with a Scoutmob, how can you pass it up?
Had the Calamari fries, the crab cakes with creamed spinach, the herb crusted salmon and the lobster mac-​n-​cheese. Also try the key lime pie cosmopolitan!

I’m with Sari H… where are these «mediocre» reviews coming from? Were we at the same restaurant? And if this is mediocre, I want to know where these people are eating a fantastic meal, because my meal last night at The Vinings Fish Company was absolutely delicious!
I’ve been looking for a really good seafood restaurant close to home, where not everything on the menu is deep fried. I think I’ve found my go-​to seafood place.
We had reservations and were seated right away. Our waiter was very attentive and did an excellent job. We had water within minutes of sitting down, which stayed full at all times. The wine selection was good (by the glass prices ranged from $ 6-​$ 10).
All in all, it is clear that there is a chef in the kitchen at The Vinings Fish Company that takes pride in his/​her food. Everything that came out of the kitchen was cooked perfectly!
I love the idea of having a variety of seafood available a la carte. What a nice way to customize your dinner. Want some Chilean Sea Bass? Yep, no problem. Rather in the mood for salmon, flounder, ahi tuna, mahi mahi? Sure, got that too!
As appetizers I had the special, the beet salad (yum!) and the fiancé had the calamari. I have to say that the calamari were cooked perfectly and I don’t think I’ve ever had calamari that tender.
As entrees, I had the Ahi Tuna (a la carte) with the butternut squash risotto. Again, the Ahi Tuna was cooked to perfection. My fiancé had the broiled seafood platter. Everything on that plate was cooked (and seasoned) deliciously. Talk about your perfect scallop.
To end this meal, we had the apple crumble. And o… m…g… that homemade rum raisin ice cream was even better than the apple crumble.
Total bill was just shy of $ 100. Yeah, it’s not cheap. But I felt it was totally worth the money. I will come here again and can’t wait to try some more different seafood.

The food was just mediocre. I started off with the Fried Green Tomatoes appetizer served with a small mixed green lettuce garnish. It was just okay. My friend ordered the Lump Crab Cake served on top of sautéed spinach. She said it was good, but it wasn’t prepared like traditional crab cakes she’s eaten before. She described it as being lump crab meat mixed with mayo.
For my entrée I ordered Shrimp, Grits, and Andouille sausage. The shrimp and grits were not that great, but I really liked the sausage which was hot and spicy. The server told us that they purchase the sausage from a local nearby butcher shop in Powder Springs that makes the sausage by hand. My friend ordered the Herb-​Crusted Trout served on top of a crawfish butter sauce with parsley potatoes. She said it was just okay.
We got our desserts for free because of some «mix-​up» in the kitchen with our order which caused us to wait an extremely long time for our entrees to arrive. I took both desserts home. The Strawberry Shortcake was not good. It was just a plain biscuit served with sliced strawberries, and topped with ice cream and whipped cream. Good thing they gave it to me for free. At least I used my 50% off Scoutmob discount, which helped make up for the mediocrity of the food.

I was a bit disappointed with the food. We had appetizers, Manhattan Chowder, Lobster Bisque, Lobster Fingers, and Calamrie. The soups were pretty good. The bread that was served looked like Red Lobster buns, but had no taste at all.
On the way out I noticed an 87 from the Health Inspector. Damn it ScoutMob, I love you but

I was surprised the Burger joint in the Jubilee was gone, but happy to find this in place of it. As soon as you walk in, it smelled fishy, and that’s not a good sign. So I was a little hesitant in staying. But my friend insisted on staying.
FOOD: We started with the complimentary hush puppies which were so tasty I would’ve asked for more if our food didn’t arrive on time. I had the Oyster Po Boy which is fried oysters with shaved lettuce and cajun remoulade. All this with a side of fries and Coke… delicious! Kinda reminds me of being near the beach. Definitely will come back for lunch!

I Love a good crab boil and tonight I got a crab boil with a twist. Tonight’s Special was the LCB (low country boil), there version included a full lobster cracked open for my eating pleasure without the hassle of having to work. I also had a side of lobster mac & cheese which was very tasty with just enough cheese and lobster to go with the mac.
Wifey had the shrimp and scallop skewers with coconut rice and mango chutney. She said it was tasty and it must have been since she gobbled it up.
Shout out to Marley our waitress, who was very attentive and always there when we needed her. Morgan the manager was also very attentive and indulged us when we had a question about the bill. Oh one thing I will add is that when you use a ScoutMob discount they will add a 18% service charge which ends up going to the waitress.
Overall: Great Experience from both the staff and the food, Team Fergie will be back!!!

ScoutMob’s Deal took us to Vinings Fish Company! The location is great for us — not to far from the homestead. The atmosphere is nice, and the food quite tasty! After reading the menu and realizing it is apart of the same restaurant group as Social Vinings that was a plus as we enjoy dining at Social. We started dinner with an appetizer of corn meal battered lobster legs, which was okay and looked and tasted sort of like calamari. I had the shrimp and scallop skewers with this sweet rice and mango chutney it was really good. TJ had the low country boil with a twist as they give you a whole lobster with your corn, potatoes, and
andouille sausage. He also had a side of Lobster Mac and Cheese of which I snuck a few bites and I must say it was quite tasty as well.
Marly our server was the best and Morgan the manager was very attentive. Overall the experience was great and we will definitely return and sit outside on the porch overlooking the shops in Vinings when this summer heat breaks.
Oh yeah I must note they do add 18% to the ScoutMob deal, but that’s cool with us cause we customarily leave a 20% tip (when the service warrants) and Morgan clarified that the 18% «service charge» is actually gratuity for the server!

I really liked this place. I stopped in to use my ScoutMob coupon & was very impressed with my meal. I had the blackened grouper & it was probably the best grouper I have had in a very long time.
I ate at the bar & the bartender was very attentive. I really hope this place lasts as it seems like this location is bad luck.

Over the past three years, I’ve seen this cute little restaurant location as three different restaurants – Italian, burgers, and now fish. I wish they would find a keeper. I went to Vinings Fish Company thanks to Scoutmob. Hmmm… it wasn’t bad, but I wouldn’t go back. The service was great. The food was just ok. I had the lobster bisque and mahi mahi tacos. Neither of them hit the spot, but both had good presentations. The hush puppies were good. I just felt like this was trying to be a fancy restaurant with the white table cloths and jazz music… but jeans and flip flops are welcome. I wish their menu selection was bigger.

I’ll start by saying that having a Scoutmob was the only reason we went — but we will definitely be back.
Upon checking out the menu online, I was concerned with the prices (as well as the reviews on here). However, when you want fresh seafood, it isn’t cheap. Our server, Zac was his name I believe, was awesome. He was attentive and helpful when it came to the menu and drinks. We started off with the Lobster legs (awesome!) and I had the salmon while my boyfriend had the crab cakes. He wasn’t used to so much lump crab in the cakes but of course he still loved it.
I would recommend this restaurant to seafood lovers, or people who just want a nice place to dine with a great atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed it and can’t wait to go back!

I went to dinner here on a Friday evening. The complimentary herb biscuits were tasty, but the hush puppies weren’t anything to write home about. We had the calamari french fries for our appetizer and they were very good. I had the shrimp and grits and my husband had the BBQ’d mahi mahi. I liked his mahi mahi better than I did my own dish.
The service and atmosphere were good and we could see ourselves returning.

Too many excellent restaurants in Vinings to waste your time with this place. Took too long to get drinks. Waited with empty glasses for 10 minutes before we were asked if we wanted another round. Worst filet I have ever had at any restaurant. Waiter never came back for payment so we paid on our way out. High end price without the attention to detail and service that most restaurants in this price range can justify. Avoid…

A friend of mine has been asking me to come dine here for weeks now. Finally made it last night and all I can say i: Why didnt i come sooner! We dined on the patio, very romantic, weather was perfect, light music and great ambiance. Inside is the same. The mussel special was delicious and came with a glass of wine. Definetly returning here this week. This will be mine and my groups new gathering place.

My first visit to VFC, I tried the fish and chips for lunch, and they were standard, but tasty and good quality. The service was good, and the décor is classy.
My second visit was for dinner with friends — I had the surf and turf, which was pretty delicious. The steak was cooked well (maybe needed a tiny bit more seasoning) and the lobster tail was yummy (only a little small). We enjoyed the complimentary hush puppies and biscuits. The lobster mac and cheese was yummy, but too expensive. My friends had the seafood bouillabaisse (good, just a bit salty) and the crab-​stuffed flounder (also tasted good, but had too many bones in it). I didn’t have a cocktail, but the menu looks great.
Service was solid, they divided checks easily (always wins points!) and there’s not another seafood spot in Vinings, so I like it. Although it’s really too expensive to visit often, I enjoy the food.
