I give Them negative 100 stars.
Within two months of our order out counters cracked and we did quartzite– we called– someone came out– and still no remediation two years later.
We have chips that they said «we don’t know what to do» this was a year ago.
We r suing.

We were extremely grateful for the high quality work and superb level of customer service we received from Counter Intelligence. We turned to them for a kitchen renovation after a neighbor recommended them. Our project was not straight-​forward (involved taking out a wall and rerouting HVAC) and Counter Intelligence was extremely thorough and conscientious. Brian Garlingtonhouse oversaw the project and was always both responsive and helpful. Fedrico was the lead craftsman and he was fantastic… easy to work with and extremely committed to making sure the project was high quality. I highly recommend both Brian and Fedrico.

Counter Intelligence was once a mighty force in the countertop industry and did excellent work. In my many years of service as a project manager, I was proud of our company, we all were. But at this point, the management of Counter Intelligence NO LONGER HAS CONTROL OF THE COMPANY, it is under control of the bank which owns all assets. The bank is not authorizing issuance of final payroll and return of benefit contributions to its employees, as it is legally obligated to do. If you were an employee or subcontractor of Counter Intelligence, you need to write a demand letter for immediate payment sent via certified mail, and file a complaint with the US Dept. of Labor.

I gave them one star because no stars was not an option. I worked with them because Home Depot in DC told me they were their contractors. I trusted Ingrid and Brian the sales guy but in the end they were huge disappointments and vanished when things got difficult.
All I can say is enter at your own risk. It is completely dysfunctional. Neither party talks to one another once the sale is complete and you will have to send dozens of e-​mails and phone calls to get anyone’s attention.
My project started in July and finished in October. I have a tiny galley kitchen. Home Depot and Counter Intelligence basically messed up on every possible thing you could mess up on. My supervisor Brad was fired 2 weeks into my job and never replaced. They hired a subcontractor who hired another subcontractor and my dry wall was crooked. I had the wrong sized cabinets and no one noticed. The measurements were all off. It was one screw up after another.
In the end they never finished the job and I had to hire another contractor to come in and finish it. I got tired of calling Trevor at CI or Nestor and Ingrid at Home Depot.
Like I wrote, enter at your own risk. If the whole thing is not a complete mess, you are one of the lucky ones, but I sure got a raw deal.
Sadly in the end no one cares. My work order is still in my apartment and unsigned because they never finished, but Home Depot paid them anyway.

I orderd granite countertop at Home Depot and here is what happeded…
1. Home Depot subcontracted my work to Counter Intelligence (CIC) (I was never explained that by Home Depot)
2. CIC measured my kitchen by laser. It was very strange measurement so my contractor questioned it but they insisted that their measurement is accurate.
3. As a result of wrong measurement, CIC brought granite which is too big to my kitchen and forced us to install by scraping wall and pushing out range also created scratches & dents on the floor.
4. Additionally, the granite I received had ugly yellow mark all over which is very different from the slab picture I was shown. My granite is whilte/​gray so it looks like ugly stains. CIC insists that’s the nature of the stone and my stone was cut from the granite slab in the picture so I asked CIC (Roquella Hinds) to show me yellow area in the picture, CIC hasn’t able to respond to me.
5. I complained 1 – 4 to Home Depot (Zanira Vasquez) but she never pick up my phone and no explanation whatover.
I highly not recommend buying countertop from Home Depot nor CIC. I’m experiencing worst customer service ever.

0 stars is more accurate. After 2 weeks still waiting on them to answer the phone or return one of the multiple messages left multiple times a day during this period. You would think they would be more responsive to a person that has already paid them. I also find it funny that they haven’t been checking their messages lately.

I am very disappointed with this company. They are receiving two stars from me only because the installers from Counter Intelligence did a GREAT job. Everything else was very frustrating.
Here we go.
I selected quartz for my kitchen counters and distressed walnut for my bar counter. I brought my contractors measurements to Home Depot and paid my estimate.
Counter Intelligence is the company contracted out by HD to do the work.
Annoyance # 1: I had to call CI to make the initial contact after paying my estimate. I waited several days and finally made the call since it was obvious they weren’t going to reach out to me.
Annoyance #2: They do not work on weekends and they are booked a week or more out so I could not even get them over to my house for a measuring appointment for nine more days. From the day I paid the estimate to the day they finally came over to measure, it took two weeks.
Annoyance #3: After the measuring appointment, I did not hear from CI. Once again, I waited several days (a week actually) and called to find out what was going on. They agreed to send me an email with the counter template which I had to approve. Waited a few more days. Email finally came in. I approved it.
Annoyance #4: At this point, over three weeks have passed. I’ve had no counter-​tops and no kitchen sink for three weeks. I called Home Depot a few days after approving the template since they appeared to not be interested in calling me either. Oh, the one and only kitchen estimate lady does not work weekends. So a few more days go by. On Monday, my new estimate is given to me: it was $ 827 more than my original quote! I asked how this was possible since i already paid over $ 4000! CI added a $ 75 convenience fee to deliver one large piece and three small pieces of quartz and a $ 300 fee to deliver ONE piece of wood! Another $ 450+ was added for a 4in wood back-​splash. So even though I was already going to pay almost $ 100 s/​f for the wood, they felt it was reasonable to add another $ 300 on to my bill just because? And then $ 75 more for the quartz just because? Why would you do that to a customer? And then it was going to take 4 – 6 more weeks from the day I pay my final bill for the wood to even get from the manufacturer to CI. Who knows how much longer i’d have to wait for them to install the thing. At this point I was so upset about the wood for my bar counter and the fact that I’d already waited over three weeks that I cancelled the wood portion and only followed through with the quartz. If I hadn’t been eating off of paper plates for so long, I would’ve gone with another company altogether since these people were clearly just nickle and diming me. They were trying to charge me close to $ 5000 for the five pieces for my small kitchen. Oh and FYI, this price did not include a free sink like I’ve seen a lot of other buyers get. This price also didn’t include plumbing.
Annoyance #5: I paid the extra for the quartz and was told by HD that Counter Intelligence would be contacting me to schedule an install date. Fool me once with the phone call game. I called the lady in charge of my account at CI. No answer. And called again. And again. And then emailed. Several more days passed by with no response. Jamelle simply would not return my messages. It took me calling HD and having HD call Jamelle and then connecting me to the call for me to discuss the installation date with her. Because I cancelled the wood, Jamelle needed me to approve a new template that she claims she sent to my email a few days prior and so she had been waiting on me. While on the phone with her and sitting in front of my laptop, I asked her to forward the email she said she sent. Low and behold a new and non-​forwarded email came right to my inbox. Shocker. I approved the final template and asked for the closest install date. Well, now I had to wait another week for the counters to be processed and cut and then a few more days after that for installation.
Total time to get the kitchen counter in to my house was close to 6 weeks. And, I still have a bar area with no counter.

Terrible terrible terrible service! Had to deal with this terrible company through Home Depot countertop install.
I agree with KT. One star is generous, this has been the absolute worst company to deal with. Tens of calls go unanswered, tens of voicemails left, go unanswered, emails go unreturned.
We have been struggling to deal with this company and their lack of communication and their lack of brain cells for 2 weeks now. This woman, Jamelle or something, claims to have emailed my husband, Jonathan, but we never get the email. After like 5 minutes of prodding, she can’t send us the original email she sent with proof, but says she spelled Jonathan with a P, instead of a T. Honestly, how dumb are you?! When has any human ever seen a name like that?
When we do talk to this rock of a human being, she tells us its going to take twice as long just to get the materials in. Blaming us for the delays for emails we never received, b/​c she can’t spell. And for materials they never ordered for some reason.
Don’t order your countertops through home depot. Don’t use this company for any reason whatsoever. Trust me. I’ve renovated 2 houses now, and this is the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had.

One star is too generous for this company. They are absolutely horrible to deal with.
I thought I would never ever Unilocal in my life, but this company is so horrible that I finally gave in. I had to create a Unilocal account just to write this review. So do yourself a favor, avoid the nightmare and look elsewhere for your counter top. READ THE OTHER REVIEWS TOO.
When we met with their representative Luiz (and Peter) who came to take measurements, they assured us that the underside of the waterfall counter top would be polished.
When the counter top arrived a few weeks later, it WAS NOT polished. The stone had a gigantic maker’s stamp «Silestone» right smack in the middle of the counter slab. The stamp was so huge and so pronounced, it was clearly visible from anywhere in the dining room as well as the kitchen. The worst part of it all was that the company refused to correct this. They grossly over-​promised and grossly under-​delivered. And they made no effort to make this right.
Luiz promised that the back side of the waterfall piece would be polished. But the company did not deliver.
Customer service was non-​existent. When we called and emailed to try to resolve this issue, we got tossed back-​and-​forth between Counter Intelligence and Home Depot. My wife and I have been ripped off, misinformed, and left with an awful product.
This case is still an ongoing nightmare for us. We will most likely be seeking damage compensation in the Small Claims Court and will report this company to the local Consumer Protection Agency. At this rate there is no other way out of this mess.

One star is beyond generous. Negative 5 would be more accurate, no exaggeration. We’ve wasted so much time and money on Counter intelligence. Don’t believe a word said by anyone at Counter intelligence. They misinform you, are intentionally vague in their quotes and have zero idea what customer service means.
Our home is a never ending horror story stuck in limbo because of counter intelligence. Huge waste of time and money with a bonus of aggravation and attitude. They couldn’t have made this process any more time consuming or inconvenient. I do get a good laugh out of their name as there is nothing remotely intelligent about any of these reps.
After reading the numerous negative Unilocal reviews, it seems that this «business» is consistently unreliable.
Do yourself a favor and read all the Unilocal reviews AND the Unilocal «unpublished Unilocal reviews» on Counter a Intelligence before wasting your time and money.

I want to say that the installers are great BUT that is the only highlight. The showroom services is not the best and the level of help and amount of time is too long. The people that measured I thought were ok at the time but they were bad. I live in a contemporary home and got white quartz. When it came in it had rounded corners like a traditional home or old fashioned type of home. The quartz came in segments and not one large piece which in quartz is possible. The installers said they could try to cut the corners square but with white there will be burn marks. I don’t know if that is true but I now have a countertop that I paid big money for that I do not like. I look at the rounded corners and it looks so awful. I don’t know if there is anything I can do to correct it.

I had a good experience with counter intelligence. My counter tops look GREAT! Any questions or concerns I had Mr. Solomon answered them via email or by phone. If there was any thing that I didn’t understand he went above and beyond to clarify the info for me. Mr. Solomon is the Sales Manager call him up if your looking to get the best price and not feel pressured. I wasn’t able to make it into the showroom, so Solomon sent me pictures of different counter tops that he thought would fit the description and color scheme I told him I was looking for. I feel confident that I made the right choice in choosing Counter Intelligence and not going by the reviews that were negative. Everyone experience will be different from the next person and I’m sure Mr. Solomon will rectify the problem if one occurs.

Ordered the Silestone thought Home Depot in NYC. They contract Counter Intellegence for the installation. The measurement was painless and went well. The order was for 5 pieces of stone. They showed up with only 1 piece and did not know where the others were and didnt call? The next week the delivered all 5 pieces after showing up several hours late but they were damaged and had to go back. The stone was not wrapped or covered in any way and was just dragged out of the truck. I cancelled the order and are awaiting a refund from Home Depot. Horrible. Absolutely Horrible.

I don’t understand the low reviews. I am a kitchen designer and have never had a client be less than happy with the Counter Intelligence service. For those who used Home Depot — stop using Home Depot — especially for things that need to be installed. Home Depot squeezes their contractors so badly that they often lose money on jobs. Go directly to a local small business.
If you don’t think the selection of granite is sufficient for you, ask them to give you a referral to their granite supplier. You can go to the warehouse and see many many choices.
I recommend you go through the web site because all home improvement businesses get slammed on weekends.
That being said, yes, you can find granite cheaper at places, but the quality of their installation is hit or miss at best. I have often see installers grinding the stone on the premises which is a sign of shoddy work in general.
I recommend Counter Intelligence and have never had them fail my good faith.

the original purchase was through Home Depot, contracted to Counter Intelligence for kitchen granite install.
They originally added wrong, tried to over charge based on sq ft. I had to point out their math error and request an adjustment. The first attempt of install the granite slab cracked, but being a Friday instead of fixing and returning next day I was left with no running water (no sink, counter, etc in kitchen) through the weekend until the following Tuesday. After several «we’ll call you right back» conversations I had to escalate my concerns through Home Depot.
I would NOT recommend anyone use Counter Intelligence, the lack of communication and professionalism from Counter Intelligence is a complete turn off. The install team was amazing, too bad they work for such a disorganized company.

Came in on a Saturday and it was pretty busy– four salespeople and at least ten customers. You can browse around as their showroom is pretty impressive– large samples with labels. They have granite, quartz, etc. Limited choices compared to other countertops dealer.
Their receptionist greeted us by writing notes to us (we are Deaf) and we asked for a salesperson as we already knew what we wanted and were there for a price. We even had our blueprint ready. So she made a copy of the blueprint for the salesperson. We waited. The receptionist came back and assured that a salesperson would be with us.
We waited.
A young man came up, talking a million miles per hour. We stared and signed «would you please write what you just said?» he talked again with his mouth. The receptionist psst’ed at him and gestured him to write.
It was obvious that he relied on his talking skills as a salesperson and fortunately for us, it won’t work with us.
He gave us a quote but he included a lot that we didn’t want– and he assumed those features so we crossed many things from his quote like 4″ of backsplash and free sink. If he has talked with us BEFORE making a quote, he will have a more accurate quote– and we would be more willing to talk with him.
But because of his assumptions and fast talk, we were less inclined to spend money on this business. We are not idiots. Their price is pretty expensive– at least $ 400 more than other countertop businesses– and other businesses took the time inquiring about what we wanted– instead of assuming that we don’t know what we want.
So one star for their poor rapport skills (get to know us and our wants instead of printing out your standard quote) and second star for having a snazzy showroom, but no cigar.

I echo what others have said about scheduling difficulties. We ordered our countertops from Home Depot, who then contract with CI. The Home Depot kitchen agent spent an hour with us diagramming our kitchen to calculate an estimated square footage. We were told that from order to install would be 2 weeks or less. We paid the full amount up front (over $ 2000) which I think now was a big mistake.
A week later we heard from the company who called to schedule the measurement. Their first available date was a week after that. So, already 2 weeks gone. Home Depot had not forwarded information on our chosen material or the square footage, and (surprise!) our material was not in stock and would not be in stock for 2 – 3 weeks. It’s been weeks now since our order and, despite several phone calls, we have no idea when we will have counters or a sink again. We are so disappointed.

I walked in, sales guy greeted us but he seemed like he wanted to sell me a used car, not a countertop. Selection is REALLY small since it’s a showroom only. Their showroom is pretty empty. I am thinking they do more wholesale and working with builders than remodel by homeowners. I am moving on to another company who has slabs you can look at.

Counter Intelligence is unbelievable! Their prices are reasonable, customer service outstanding, and everything was installed in a couple of hours.
1. Joe Fiegenschue was my sales representative and was unbelievable. He answered all my questions (and I had a lot), gave me great advice, and was always available by phone, email, or in person at their Springfield location. He was even off one day and still got back to me within a few hours. He was honest — which is a huge thing for me and very hard to find — and helped me realize marble, while beautiful, was not the right material for my lifestyle (I love red wine and I am extremely clumsy). He even showed me other projects that were complete with the stone choices I was looking at.
2. The store location (in Springfield) was so convenient — right off 495. The store itself was very neat and tidy and there were huge slabs of the different stones they had so you could get a better idea of what the stone would look like on a counter top. In fact, I was completely convinced this one color was perfect for my kitchen but seeing it on a large slab I realized it was not at all what I wanted. It is REALLY important that you are able to see a large sample of the granite it looks completely different. The Springfield store also had the ACTUAL slabs in their store room so I could pick the exact slab I wanted for my counter tops. This is also AMAZING because granite is a natural stone and varies from slab to slab. The store also had sink options and faucet options — one stop shop.
3. Installation: They had someone come out and measure with a really cool device and he took tons of pictures. It took him about 20 min and he sent off the data immediately to Joe in the showroom. It was all very high tech. I went to the showroom in Springfield right after the measurement (maybe an hour or so later) and they had a computerized drawing pictures and a quote all ready to go. As for the installation. They said they would be there at 9:45 and they were there at… get this… 9:45!!! AMAZING! And then done before 1:00PM — Done! One day! I signed my contract on Tuesday afternoon they installed Friday morning. The installers were extremely professional and did a wonderful job in very little time — very efficient. Plumbers showed up right after they had installed the stone. I supplied my own faucet (because as you can probably tell by now — I am a bit picky and a bit neurotic) but they had faucets to choose from in the showroom that were great. The plumbers installed the faucet with no problems and fixed my old school 1980s plumbing job. They also installed the soap dispenser (above and beyond).
4. Price: extremely competitive! Home Depot had an amazing sale and Joe was able to compete! Home depot could not even come to measure my kitchen for a week much less install counter tops, sink, faucet, and plumbing. Complete turn-​key service would have taken over a month! And they contract out to a bunch of places so I am sure their would have been all sorts of unforeseen costs. Counter intelligence gives you a quote for everything sink, faucet, granite, labor, plumbing, everything! No hidden costs or fees. They do have 6 month no interest financing as well.
I cannot rave enough about Joe and counter intelligence. I will be back for my back splash and kitchen sinks and anything else that I can throw granite or marble on :-)
