USA Karate Academy is a family martial arts school that offers karate classes not only for children, but also for men and women. Training sessions are appropriate for beginners, novice, intermediate and advanced levels.

Physical fitness, self defense, self respect, and self-​discipline are some of the many benefits that students gain through training in traditional karate-​do at our dojo.

History

Established in 1994.

USA Karate Academy has been located in the City of Shoreline since 2000. The dojo was founded by 7^th Degree Black Belt, Joni Sharrah in 1994 in Edmonds, WA.

Martial arts training at USA Karate Academy help children build character and bully proofing skills while adults improve physical fitness and self-​defense tactics.

Lessons for children that instill the basic rules of life, such as how to develop a positive mental attitude, set worthy goals, and how to be the very best you can be, improve children’s academic progress in school and assist in their development of self-​confidence that improves their ability to socialize positively with their peers.

Adults enjoy the stress relieving and fitness building workouts as well as the added mind, body activity that enhances the quality of life by improving personal health and frame of mind.

Business Owner

Joni Sharrah is the founder and head instructor of USA Karate. A 7^th Degree Black Belt, she is ranked by Danny Lane’s World Martial Arts Federation. Mrs. Sharrah is a certified National Official and certified Technical Coach by the AAU Karate National Program.

In 2006, Shihan Joni Sharrah earned an International Budo Martial Arts License an internationally recognized Martial Arts Instructor’s License.

Joni Sharrah is a former 3 –time AAU National Champion, 6 — time International medalist including 3 World Championship Gold Medals.

She was inducted into the Eastern International Black Belt Hall of Fame in 2000. In January of 2011, Joni Sharrah Shihan was awarded the Silver Service Award in the Action Martial Arts Hall of Honors.
