So I had a very bad experience with the Glendale location, so I decided to try the Sherman Oaks locations, staff supper nice, my barber (Mir) AMAZING ! This guys knows his stuff about shaving, extremely professional, polite. I didn’t even feel the time go by. Extremely satisfied with the service. I got the relay shave and It was well worth it .
Make your appointment with Mir. Mir is doing my shave for my wedding, I am coming back in a month.

You know. The idea is cute. Really cute. But the execution and price is just not right.
First off, the price is very expensive for what you’re getting.
Second, the quality of the products here just feels cheap. I’f I’m buying my husband or dad a razor here for $ 125, it better be of some sound quality, not flimsy plastic/​metal.
Also their sets are expensive, and don’t have much in them. And the razors that come with sets are the same quality of razors my husband gets from the Dollar Shaving Club.
All in all, not worth it.

IF YOU HAVE A BEARD, YOU NEED MIR
I’m an actor with a big beard – so my beard has to look right or I’m out of business.
I searched for a beard barber on Unilocal,and most barbers do beards as a sideline. Mir is a Master Barber who specializes in beards, and has worked all over the world.
One way you know he’s good is that it takes two or three weeks to get an appointment with him – because his clients keep coming back.
I told Mir what I wanted, and literally in less than a minute he was already solving a dilemma I’ve always had with my moustache (and come on, men, you know how trying those moustache dilemmas can be!)
His service isn’t a mere trim, he shapes your beard perfectly, puts a hot towel on your face, then gives the unbearded portions of your face and neck a straight razor shave, then a cold towel and lotions.
It’s very relaxing!
Mir is also very intelligent. We had an interesting conversation about world history and I learned things I didn’t know!

His chair is in a private area in the back of the Art of Shaving store in the Westfield Fashion Square in Sherman Oaks. There’s always covered parking, it’s easy to get to.

The best don’t need a lengthy description to convince others why they’re the best. Mir, simply IS the best. So long as you care about how your hair, and more specifically, your beard comes out after a cut or trim, Mir is who you NEED to go to. Go to someone else at your own risk.

This place is weak. I was so excited to find a place to shop while I’m with my wife at the mall. I came in and was coldly greeted by a young pseudo hipster. His facial hair appeared to have once been promotional gold, but he definitely missed a trim or two. He seemed to view me as a serious intrusion to whatever he was doing on his iPhone. Look dude, I get it: you’re in sales and it’s slow. But try to pretend to be interested in the only customer in the store. He asked me what kind of razor I use and, I replied. The conversation stopped there.
Aside from the stellar service (sigh) the product I purchased was TERRIBLE. I purchased a face wash whose packaging suggested a rich lather with an invigorating oil. Basically I got a 4oz bottle of glycerin (think vegetable oil) with a tiny bit of peppermint oil in it. Wack! It would not lather no matter how much I poured in my hand.
Crappy service and $ 25 for 4oz of garbage that barely lasts 2 weeks? Nah doo.

I love these products! The pre-​oil and shaving cream work well and I love my new new shaving brush from them. You’ll have to think about buying these products as they’re expensive but I found its well worth it! I’ll be back to buy the rest of the set in a few weeks. These fellas know there stuff! The best way to apply the products and the different products available. Cheers gents!

Mir is a great barber. Not only did he give me the smoothest shave I’ve ever had but he taught me different ways I can trim my own beard and ways to clean up my hair as well! Also I was super stressed out and The hot towels and different lotions really helped me chill out. I will definitely be back! :)

Where do you start? I’m blown away with my experience here and in the care of Mir. I drove a hour to see you, it was beyond worth it! If you care about beard and only want the best hands to take care of it, then this is your location to be! Mir went above and beyond! Was my first time here and I wasn’t let down one bit. Mir thank you for the best treatment ever! You have a customer for life and the only person I trust working on my beard.

This is not to be taken lightly, Mir is the BEST barber I have ever been to. The man is a magician when it comes to using scissors. I have been to many many barbershops and have had many barbers cut my hair, but nothing compares to Mir. He is an extremely experienced barber that offers great conversation for the time of a haircut. He once told me, «I am not good at many things, but I am great at cutting hair.»
Highly recommended.
The Art of Shaving salesman (Shafiq and Jack) were also extremely helpful, I almost bought everything in the store.

You Don’t Mess with the Zohan!
I think of that movie every time Mir cuts my hair or trims my beard.
Mir is one of the most knowledgeable, and devoted hair stylist I have ever encountered. From the time you meet him until you pay, his attention is devoted directly to you. Sitting in his chair we have discussed every topic underneath the sun, and afterward you come out feeling refreshed, and clean and neat.
I refuse to have anyone else touch my beard, especially after a horrible experience at Floyd’s, but thats another Unilocal review for a different time.
I have also purchased products and love the sandalwood smells.
Highly recommend!

My girlfriend brought me here for a Christmas gift! I hadn’t used a regular razor in a minute since I been using electrics for the past year.
The salesman Ken changed my world though! Helped me pick out a nice brush, and a year supply of pre-​shave, shaving cream and after shave.
Immediately used it when I got home and I’ve never had a better shave! Skin was smooth with no irrigation.
Though I can’t say I’ll lose the electric, I’ll definitely be coming back here for my shaving needs. Thanks again Ken!

Went to get a royal shave for the first time. I was nervous at first, but lightened up as it begun. It was Incredible! My skin has never felt as healthy and alive as it does now! Mir is truly a master of his own kind. I definitely plan on coming back soon with friends. Especially for the holidays! Every man should experience a good shave!

Shysters, I am very upset at these guys. I had an appointment on Friday that was cancelled that was rescheduled to today. Figuring I had time I got a coffee, Jack, the manager had told me 11:30am so I was there at 11:20. My appointment was actually 11:15 and they would not see me. No calls, nothing, nada! I got the ‘oh we tried to call you but no one picked up’, my cell automatically goes to google voice so I will call BS on that as I already have one VM from them from my first appointment. All they want is to sell you stuff that you can get on Amazon. Well guys, you lost my business!
Update: Jack, the manager called me and managed to get me an appointment today. The Barber is amazing and I would recommend the barber and despite the sales staff foibles, I will return to the barber.

Mir reached out to try and make sure I was happy. It’s clear he cares about his customers satisfaction. I chose not to take him up on it because I can’t see how too short can be fixed but I sincerely appreciate the care. He even assured me that it will grow back in great shape. I’ll take his word on that for now. My disappointment is certainly curbed for the level of customer service.

For those of you growing a beard and are scared as heck (like me) to go to someone to shape it and not worry that much will be taken, then I suggest you go see Mir. He knew exactly what i wanted, i showed him a picture and that was it. He shaped it flawlessly and believe it or not, my beard looks even fuller just by the way he shaped it. Such a smart and professional man. I really wish i can get his treatment every week but unfortuantely im growing a beard and that would defeat the whole purpose. I HIGHLY recommend Mir.

I’ve come here a few times and Mir is great. Very attentive and knows his craft. He is a pro.
But the prices are kind of over the top at $ 50 with tip.

Mir is an artist in every sense of the word.
I have searched and tried several places looking for someone that can handle a shears-​only haircut. I think anyone can learn to trim hair with electric trimmers however it’s near impossible to find someone that can actually use the shears. After my first visit I was sold. He knows what I want and expect in my haircut, he can make recommendations all this done to the utmost attention to detail. After a year of getting my haircuts with Mir I’m not looking to replace this experience any time soon.
Truly a world-​class experience.
Make sure to schedule a cut with time as he is booked a few weeks in advance.

Simply the finest shave I have ever received. I now return regularly to let Mir help me look my best and most confident. You simply won’t find a more detailed and professional barber anywhere in the southwest. Try him once and you’ll never stop coming back!
TIP: Mir’s schedule is tight, so you’ll need to anticipate when you’ll need a shave and book in advance.

I heard about the place from a coworker said it was the closest shave he’d ever had. I figured I would give it a try and see what that was all about, and it was the Movember had ended I needed the whiskers off my face. There is one chair in the back of the store, the barber was great, very gentle, it didn’t even seem I was getting a shave at times. He used a straight razor at first, then a Gillette after to clean any thing left. I don’t thing I have ever gotten a closer shave without getting cut. He was like a surgeon, precise and meticulous. Love it. The music was just a bit loud it made it hard to hear him at times. I wouldn’t get a shave this way all the time but definitely treated myself, it would also make a great gift. At $ 55 for the shave and a massage it’s great to get pampered.
I do like the smell of the products and shaving cream that was used.
Go and experience it!
