I came to Jasmine with a groupon but also requested burgundy ombré hair. She took her time and did a great job. The cut the color everything turned out fine. Next time I’m going to try for more vibrant color so that will be fun.
Very good experience no complains.

My first expensive or real haircut experience was with Jazy when I was 20 years old! I had extra money and thought, why not. Down the road, it was expensive to continue seeing her but in between I’d see stylist but obviously no one compared. 5 years later, I’ve learned to be better with money and respect Jazy so much!!! I have thick wavy hair and it gets hard to maintain, somehow she makes it manageable until it becomes too much.

The plaza is located off Ventura Blvd in Sherman oaks. There’s metered parking until I think 7pm, there’s also a lot for customers in the back by the alley but not sure what the operating hours are.

Jasmine is wonderful! I finally decided to find someone in my area after going back to my hometown for cuts for years. Found Jasmine through NaturallyCurly and couldn’t be happier. She’s a very sweet person and really knows what she’s doing. She walked me through the dry cut process (this was my first) and periodically checked in with me to make sure I was doing okay. It’s the best cut I’ve ever had and is growing out beautifully (my review’s a little delayed). She even called a few days after my cut to make I was still happy with it. I can’t wait for my next cut!

I recently moved to the area and was searching for a salon that specialized in curly hair. I gave Jasmine a call after doing some online research. She was able to take me in that same week. She offered 20% off the first cut.
My overall experience was excellent. She had a cool relaxing music playlist streaming and started off our appointment offering a nice hot beverage. I chose green tea but she had a lot to choose from. Next she proceeded into the consultation and really took her time. It was awesome getting tips from a fellow curly head that was rocking some beautiful curls. The hair shampoo included some nice minty shampoo and a short head massage. Jasmine took her time in the cut and styled my hair afterwards. She never pushed products but gave recommendations which I appreciated. I’m very happy with my cut and will be sure to go back in the future!

I’ve been going to Jasmine for a few years now. At first at her salon in Sherman Oaks, which is now sold, and I still continue to see her at her new location at Sola which is a little closer to Encino. I’ve been to many top stylists, both here and in London in the 60s, including Lawrence, Vidal’s top cutter back in the day. Jasmine is as good as any of them. Great colorist and cutter, very attentive to her clients. You can see her work in my profile photo, after a Brazilian blow-​out. Highly recommend this friendly and professional stylist.

Jasmine has been doing my hair for 12 years. She is excellent. She listens carefully to you and you have her full attention. The thing I love is that she does everything herself (shampoo, color, highlight, cut and blow dry) and it goes a lot faster than other salons where you have to wait for someone to do your cut, then another for the color. Her salon is cozy and you feel very comfortable. She really is the best.

There are generally three things I look for in a stylist; skill, personality and spunk. Jasmine, owner of Jazy Hair had all three qualities. I am originally from a small town and appreciate when others are able to communicate openly and be authentic. Jasmine was authentic and skillful. Also, I appreciated the warm ambiance of her salon, which is located on Ventura blvd, right by the Sherman Oaks Galleria. If you have curls like me and are deathly afraid of scissors, you are in safe hands with Jasmine. I would greatly recommend her salon.

After reading positive reviews on Jasmine, I decided to give her a try a couple of years ago. Since then, she has cut, highlighted and dyed (overall color) my hair, as well as performing a Brazilian Blowout. With the exception of the Brazilian (which she did a great job on), I’d have to say that she is a pretty mediocre and overpriced stylist. Don’t get me wrong, if the service that she were providing were fantastic, I’d be okay with spending the money. Unfortunately, I feel like I could get the same result and pay a quarter of the price elsewhere. Also, I feel like with the prices she charges, she’d actually care whether her customers were satisfied, but that was NOT my experience. The last time I saw her, I asked her to lift my hair from its natural black color, to a medium brown. The final result was a lot darker than I had asked for. She basically took my hair from a jet black, to a lighter black. When I voiced my concern, she reassured me that it would lighten after I washed it for the first time. This was not the case. Even after washing my hair, the color remained the same. I was obviously unhappy with this so I gave her a call. I was SHOCKED when instead of offering to correct it, she accused me of changing my mind about the color I wanted (and she was really rude about it).
Another thing that really bothered me, is that I constantly felt pressured to write a review for her. Every single time I would go to see her, she would ask me to write a review on City Search, and even gave me her laptop so that I could do so. Uhm awkward? Unless you’re genuinely 100% satisfied with the service, who would be able to write an honest review, with their hair stylist reading as they’re writing? Lol. I definitely think that this is at least part of the reason why she has such high reviews on City Search and just okay reviews on Unilocal.My best friend got her hair cut and colored by Jasmine also, and said that she was asked to write a review so many times during her her appointment, that she finally caved and did it. She felt super uncomfortable and ended up not seeing Jasmine again after that experience.

My hair is naturally curly, and it has been challenging for me to find a stylist who knows how to cut curly hair — yes, I have a lot of horror stories. Jasmine does exceptional work with curly hair — my hair always looks great after the cut, and it maintains very well (for several months) until the next cut. Although I no longer live in the valley, I continue drive out to Jasmine whenever I need a haircut because frankly, she’s the only one who gets it right.
**I have also gone to Jasmine for the Brazilian Blowout. She is very detail-​oriented with applying the product, and, as a result my Brazilian Blowouts always end up lasting for several months.

I first met Jasmine when I was introduced to her by my then hair stylist. I heard great things about her special occasion styles and hired her to do my hair for my wedding, as well as my mom’s and aunts. This was back in 2007 and Jasmine did an amazing job!
Recently, my regular stylist moved, so I needed to find a new stylist. I remembered Jasmine and the great job she did at my wedding, called and made an appointment. At the time, I was bleach blond with some serious dark brown roots and was desperate for a touch up. By the time I got to Jasmine’s salon, I had decided that I wanted to make a major change and go from a light blond to a dark brown.
Jasmine did an amazing consultation, made me feel totally comfortable, and listened to what I wanted. I was so nervous about what my hair would end up looking like, as I had been a blond for over 8 years. But it looked fantastic and exactly what I wanted it! I am really happy with the result.
The only reason that I am docking one star is because it was a little more expensive than I am used to paying. But ultimately, I think the result was worth it.

After my hairstylist friends moved away, I was afraid to go to someone new. My friend who is always rockin’ the super sexy hair recommended Jazy Hair so I bit the bullet…& I am so glad I did. I just had my 3^rd cut/​color/​blow-​dry from Jasmine and it’s the 3^rd time I’ve walked out super happy!

Attention Curly Girls!
I just got home from another fantastic Jasmine hair cut! This compliment is huge, you see, because I have curly hair. Getting a great hair cut with such challenging hair is rare (you know what I am talking about). Jasmine of Jazy Hair is a curly haired genius. (Yes, she is one of us.) I love the attention she pays to my curls and always leave feeling fun and cute and bouncy– NOT dumpy, mullet having, or christmas tree head shaped.
Just for a reference to the curly girls out there– I would compare my hair texture/​curls to Annalynne McCord on the one day she didn’t straighten it. Or maybe Jessica Sarah Parker on the PILOT of Sex and the City.
If you are NOT curly haired, I can tell you how sweet and nice Jasmine is, how comfortable her salon room is, and how she always offers yummy coffees and chocolates. And you should know that if a stylist can cut curly hair– they can probably do everything else with one hand.

Jasmine has been my hair dresser for the last few years. I have curly hair, so it has been great to find a stylist who knows how to work with my hair. She is very talented and personable. She can really do it all, from the simple trim and style to amazing updos. I also like the location of the salon, and the fact that it’s very private. I live out of town, but even the 400 mile distance doesn’t entice me to look for a local stylist. She is that good!

I tried to lighten my dirty blond hair myself and wound up with awful, yellowish-​green streaks. I read a good review of Jasmine online and decided to give her a try. She restored my hair to its natural color and gave me very natural-​looking highlights.
I’ve been back several times and not only am I happy with her work, I think she’s a very sweet person who puts her clients at ease.
Other colorists have started my highlights way too far from my scalp so I wind up looking like I got my color done a month earlier, not that day. She puts the highlights all the way up which I like. I’ll continue to go back.

Jasmine has been my hair stylist for 4 years and I will never let another pair of hands come near my giant head of curly, unruly hair. I didn’t really love my curls until Jasmine had her way with them and now they are unstoppable. She also recommended highlights and did a great job with them.
She recommends good products. She has chocolate and gossip magazines in her salon. She offers you high-​quality coffee or tea. She is fun to talk to. What else is there to say?
Take your unmanageable (or manageable) curls to Jasmine and she will change your life.

I was just looking for a local hair stylist and stumbled across Jasmine. I had not realized it at first, but she has her own little private booth-​like salon going on, so you get the 1-​on-​1 treatment, which is really nice because it’s private and you don’t have to deal with the hustle and bustle of a big salon.
Jasmine was absolutely wonderful, really attentive and knew what she was doing. She wanted to make sure the cut she gave me was exactly what I wanted, and it was. She really loves what she does (which is really important) so she makes a big effort to be sure to let you know each step of the process she is going through so you’re in some ways, in control of your hair ;)

I’ve been struggling with writing this review for some time now. I have been here 3 times. First 2 times were fine. I really loved how my hair turned out. WhenI went for a touch up for my highlights and just a trim, I walked out of there soooo disappointed. How does the same stylist who had worked on my hair before ruin my hair so badly? I walked out of there with the wrong hair color and highlights. She did not trim my hair which had taken me soooo long to finally grow out to the perfect length (just below my bra/​mid back) and now I have shoulder length hair with a whole bunch of layers I did not have before. I have a mullet for a haircut, that nothing can fix. I have to wait and grow out my hair. I have been wearing it in a ponytail because it is so horrible. I have been so depressed about this whole situation.

Amber as a person is VERY nice, sweet, attentive, and kind BUT I did NOT walk out of there happy. I had a simple wash and flatiron with no style. The end result was ok. I’ve definitely had better results from many other stylists at half the price she charged me for that but… I digress.
What made me give this a not so great rating was when she said she wanted to trim my ends a little. Didn’t really want to but she said it would be a good thing to do. Ok fine. She cut maybe ½ inch of hair all around. Ok great. What shocked the hell out of me is when I went up to pay and the receptionist said a price that was DOUBLE what I was told initially. When I asked Amber the reason she said that the «cut» was $ 80 extra! Wait! For a half inch trim?! WTF?!! It would have been great if you told me that before. I truly and sincerely felt that I was taken advantage of. Won’t ever be going back.

The price for a hair cut may have been on the website however being in a chair at the time… a computer was not made available to me, nor was it offered to me. No one is questioning the amount of work a stylist puts in their work. My concern is communication as a first time client. Simply communicating the fee would have been sufficient enough. An appointment was made for particular services; therefore I was well prepared for the cost of those services. I did not ask or plan for this particular service. I was told that it was something that I really should do. Therefore if it’s a recommendation on the part of the stylist then take the time to communicate the fees for this recommendation. I’m simply expressing that being my first time there, it would have been nice to have been told.

Okay — first things first — the person who wrote the first comment and had a bad experience at Jazy Hair had to be on the receiving end of a fluke unfortunate circumstance. I’d like to refer you ALL to GOOGLE this salon and check out the 203+ reviews this awesome salon has (and it takes until page 13 to get to a review that’s rated less than 5 stars… i.e., the first 4-​star review is after 13 whole pages of nothing but 5 stars and excited clients).
Now, that said — I would like to share my experience at Jazy Hair yesterday. I had a hair appointment with Amber… I cannot even BEGIN to tell you how talented, awesome and friendly she is. She didn’t even have a picture of what I told her I wanted anywhere in sight and somehow still managed to give me the exact cut I was asking for. She began the evening by offering me a friggin Frappacino AFTER I arrived late for my evening appointment (and was still awesome enough to see me before her next client, with zero attitude!). She and Jasmine were the only two left in the shop for the night and they both couldn’t have been more friendly and professional.
My hair looks AH-​MAZE-​ZING and I felt right at home in the salon. I’ve gotta tell you — if you’re going to try out a new stylist or new salon… PLEASE give them a try — I have a feeling you will not be disappointed.
