Absolutely amazing work. When we were stuck with no electricity in our house, Ross showed up within minutes to help fix all of our problems. Ross is smart, honest and a great electrician. He knows what he’s doing and his rates are upfront and reasonable. I had Ross install recessed LED lighting, repair some broken outlets and non-​working switches, and update some outlets. During the work, he let me know that I had still had some original wiring with fabric, and explained how it could be removed, if I wanted it done in the future. I appreciated that he didn’t use scare tactics or pressure; he explained the issue and continued with the job. I really liked his crew – they were careful, neat and quiet. The recessed lighting they installed is perfect. I wholly recommend Electric Universe.

Electric Universe who’s owner is Ross, is really efficient and does perfect work. Ross rewired a rather large home and did a great job.

My digital electronic shower control valve stopped working 3 years ago. It was manufactured by Memry Corp, which was purchased by American Standard, and then discontinued. Over the past 3 years, I’ve had at least 10 ‘professionals’ try to get it working. I’ve taken the unit to computer repair technicians, plumbers, electricians and contractors to no avail. From what I learned, it was unclear what the problem was, since it could be electrical, plumbing or mechanical related.
Ready to give up, I began looking at replacing everything with new Kohler or Steamiest units. I found that the bids for hardware alone were approximately $ 9,000 (Snyder-​Diamond and Ferguson). I then started calling contractors and found that the demolition, re-​plumbing the new unit, marble removal/​replacement, etc added another $ 10K.
So, this past week, I gave it one more try before committing $ 20K to the project. I called the top 5 Unilocal electricians in Sherman Oaks to see if they could help. One top rated company said they didn’t want the job (something about electricity and water scared them), one said it was too small, a 3^rd said they don’t ‘trouble-​shoot’ discontinued products, and the 4^th didn’t return my 3 calls/​messages. Number 5 on the list was Ross at Electric Universe.
When I spoke to him and explained how many before him had tried and failed, he didn’t seem concerned. He also didn’t care about working with discontinued units. He accepted the challenge, and he wasn’t afraid.
When I met him at my home, I quickly got the impression that he could do anything electrical. It seemed that he liked the idea that no one else could fix it, and I got the sense that liked the challenge. In a little over an hour, he had tested out the electrical issues, figured out the mechanical issue (electrical actuator, not powering the electronic valve) and had water flowing in my shower for the first time in 3 years.
He saved me the expense and disruption of a complete remodel. But the experience also showed me that there a lot of 5 star Unilocal businesses, that pick and choose what they will and won’t do. Ross accepted the challenge, and I am very grateful, for his professionalism and perseverance.
Not all electrical jobs are ‘cookie cutter’ jobs. Anyone of the 5 could probably replace a breaker, install recessed lights or hang a flat panel TV. But, to hear a customer say how difficult the job would be, and to accept the challenge, sets Ross, and Electric Universe ahead of his 5 star peers.

We had a small power outage in our kitchen. I called EU to have someone take a look. My call was promptly returned, they sent out a technician the same day and they didn’t charge us anything to turn the power back on! I really appreciated their quick customer service and being a non-​profit, we really appreciate the free service!

Ross is honest, diligent, and does excellent work. Fixed a number of problems while saving us money by suggesting better and cheaper solutions than we had thought of.
