Orchards Inn

What a lovely hidden gem! Our experience at Orchards Inn was superb from check-​in to check-​out. We booked a suite on the top floor and the room was tastefully decorated, immaculate and cozy. It had a fireplace and a balcony with one of the absolute BEST views in Sedona. A great location and value for the price. Would definitely stay here again!

I don’t even know where to begin this review. How about that I am writing this at 6 in the morning because I hear everything the guests above me are doing. Walking, dropping stuff on the floor, flushing the toilet. First and foremost, the hotel looks NOTHING like the website. The quality is that of a poorly renovated motel. I believe we paid around $ 230 for our stay and that is incredibly overpriced for the room we were in.
For this price, I’d rather add the extra bucks for the Hilton or L’Auberge, or even go to the Best Western down the street.
Although not a frequent visitor to the beautiful city of Sedona, my usual place of stay is at L’Auberge when I am here for a long trip. Seeing that I was only staying for a night, I figured it was pointless to stay at L’Auberge, so we chose Orchards Inn. Because Orchards Inn is super close to L’Auberge, it’ll be similar quality, right? WRONG. I am fully aware that Orchards Inn would not give me the experience or quality L’Auberge does, but from the website, reviews, and the price they charge I thought we’d get a quality one night stay. WRONG.
It was also mentioned on the website of a restaurant called 89 Agave. It’s right across from the hotel and they were even nice to give us a 10% discount, so we decided to get a small bite and margaritas. We walked in and sat down for a few minutes until we were told that the place has limited seating due to an event and we could only sit at a few of the tables up front. I mentioned we were guests at the hotel and the waitress said we could wait for a table (there were maybe 7 or 8 full) so we decided to go elsewhere. When we returned to the hotel, I went to the front desk and told them the situation and all they did was apologize. What good is a 10% coupon if I can’t use it during the one night I’m staying? All I got was a thousand sorries and no action. No offering to make it right other than to give me coupons to other places for drinks AFTER we returned to the hotel.
I am a huge advocate of customer service. I believe customer service makes or breaks a business. Although a friendly staff, the effort of making a situation right was poor.
All I have to say to sum up, if this hotel was around $ 100−110/night and the website actually reflected how the place looks and feels (or close to it) this review wouldn’t be up right now.
Addition:
The next day at check out, there was a gentleman who asked me how my stay was and I explained the entire situation. He took off a few dollars from our stay and apologized. This is why this review is getting 3 stars, not 1.

Booked one night; such a nice, big clean room, we stayed 4 nights. Beautiful Red-​Rock view from our balcony.
PET-​friendly so Boo & Gabby had a fabulous time as well. Booking here when we go back next year.

Our room has great beds and pillows with a pullout bed totaling 3 beds. Good size room with an impeccable view! Was too cloudy too see sunrise or sunset so I hope I can see amazing view from balcony .
Nice bathroom and shower head gets job done .

My first visit to Sedona and I don’t think you can beat the value for the views and proximity (just steps) from old town. Ample easy parking, decent restaurant, views that make you never want to leave the room! We would have liked a bit more variety at breakfast, but we quickly found Café Jose and ate like kings. One slight negative, walls are really thin… we could hear snoring and most conversation on both sides.

Stayed here for 3 nights with my sister and we had a great time. We were sure to request a room on the top floor with a gas fireplace, and I’m really glad we did. I was concerned that the hotel is so close to the main drag, but once we were in our room looking at the extraordinary views, the hustle and bustle felt very far away. And when we were ready to go out, it was super convenient to shops and restaurants.
The staff was very accommodating of our requests and were quick to help us with directions and recommendations for hikes and restaurants. If we chose to stay in the middle of Sedona next time we return, we’ll definitely be back here.

My wife and I stayed here this past weekend on 2/4~2/6 as part of my surprise getaway for her birthday. Our normal place of stay, El Portal Sedona, was completely booked for this weekend, so we chose Orchards Inn based on their website and reviews. The check-​in process was very smooth and we were unpacked in our room within 10 minutes of arrival. This is where the positive experience began to go downhill. Our first impression was that our room looked nothing like what it did on the website; it was very obvious that the price we paid were for the view and location in Uptown over the room itself. The views were absolutely stunning, however the room looked like something out of Motel 6. As we arrived on the night of the 4^th, we went to bed early with plans to enjoy Sedona early the next morning. When we came back from sightseeing and lunch the following day (5^th), we discovered that the room was chilly (65 degrees when the unit was set to 75 degrees) and the unit was blowing cold air. We called the front desk to report, which they sent a maintenance engineer within 10 minutes of the call. The response was prompt, however the troubleshooting took over 2 hours during which we had to stay in our room until completion. The issue seemed to be fixed and we left the room to head out to do some sightseeing before dinner. When we came back to change for dinner, we discovered the room was now down to 60 degrees and the unit had been blowing cold air again. We called front desk to report, to which the maintenance engineer arrived approximately 30 minutes after the call. We then again stayed at the room while the maintenance staff were troubleshooting the issue. We waited nearly three hours, during which the maintenance engineer left the premises without notifying us or of an ETA to fix. We went to the front desk, upon which the engineer was called up and we were informed the problem with the heater was unable to be fixed that night. We had already burned over 3 hours of time (on top of the 2 hours during the earlier visit) where we did not get any information on the issue, time of fix and whether it could be fixed. Due to this, I not only had to cancel the birthday dinner reservation with my wife due to this issue not being resolved until close to 9pm (and the restaurant and most Sedona restaurants close at 9pm), however we also essentially had to sacrifice half of our day (which was our only full day in Sedona). We were provided space heaters, however they were not adequate to keep the room heated for a comfortable night’s sleep. Our trip and my wife’s birthday weekend was essentially ruined due to this.
The only positive I’ll give is that the front desk was doing the best they can to help resolve the issue, going as far as comping our 2^nd night which is the only reason why I am not giving this review 1 star. However, as they say, you can’t put a price of experience (or an experience ruined like this). The views and location were amazing, but I would have rather paid the same amount of money at El Portal Sedona or L’Auberge where I know the customer service and the rooms are exactly what you pay for.

Great experience! Free coffee, tea and water bottles in the lobby. The free breakfast (served across the parking lot in their Mexican restaurant) was surprisingly varied (bagels, pastures, yoghurt, oatmeal, fresh fruit…) and the room just had an amazing view! Will definitely stay again!

Room was nice, location is great, view nice. I still can’t believe they leave all the TVs on all day though (so you can see the ‘visit sedona’ tourism channel. That’s pretty tacky.

This is my second year back to Orchards Inn.
My first experience last year deserved the 5 star review effortlessly. From booking to check in it was perfect. The rooms here have the most breathtaking views.
However this year, I learned that not all their rooms are the same. This year my experience at Orchards Inn started at a 3, star review then rapidly declined to a –1. After voicing my concerns to the front desk, Thomas advised that the manager Kevin will help. They quickly regained my five star rating for Orchard Inn.
This would of been a bad review it is amazing what great staff and a beautiful hotel can accomplish. The experience this year took a little bit of work, none the less the 5 star rating remains. Thank you Kevin and Thomas!

Although the room situation was squared away I do have to say the quality of their beds are poor. On the first night I thought Bc we were sent to the «400 building» (the older not so nice hotel rooms) the bed was springy and flimsy because we were in an old room. However last night with the change of rooms it’s like they brought that old bed in here for us to sleep on. The service the view is five stars but their mattresses as seen by other Unilocalers, I’m afraid to even lift the sheet to actually see the mattress and my whole body aches from sleeping here for two nights.

Great location in town, and the views from our top floor room could not be beat – absolutely stunning! The fall weather was a bit chilly at night, so the fireplace was a nice bonus. Our room was spacious (it was a corner suite) and our king-​sized bed was comfy.
Kevin at the front desk was very friendly.

We had a good stay here. We booked the deluxe king room. We booked directly through the the hotel which was great. Denise was so helpful and called us to get the king room for us bc originally they only had queen available. The prices seem higher on the hotel website than like
but call and talk to someone because they were lower when I called. The room is deluxe bc of being on the top floor which has awesome views and the fireplace. The fireplace which we enjoyed more than anything since during our stay it was 45 degrees and raining!
The room isn’t really deluxe it’s the fireplace and third floor location that qualifies as that. There is a fridge but no microwave. The shower is small and the shower head is low so if you’re tall forget it. Also the water went from hot to cold the whole time. The double sinks are nice though. This place is right in the heart of tourist part of Sedona and we never drove just walked to the Cowboy Club for dinner and the Mexican place in front so that was nice. The staff was super accommodating. Unfortunately the weather prevented us form trying the pool and hot tub but it looked nice. I would stay here again.

We were excited to check in to the Orchards Inn to stay for 4 nights. We pulled up to a small parking lot, and the tiniest lobby ever. The uplifting part of the lobby was easy check in and the view right outside.
When we got to our room, the smell was not pleasant, however the view from our second floor balcony was amazing. We had a table with 2 chairs to relax and enjoy. We were lucky to have the end of the building, because the balconies had little privacy from your neighbors. The musty smell of the room dissipated a bit after the A/​C ran for a while.
Later that night when taking a shower, the water couldn’t keep a constant temperature. I almost burned my face off. The drain didn’t work well, and there was a pool of standing water during my whole shower. I decided to move past this, until I discovered a streak of BLOOD on my sheets and pillow. We told the front desk about the drain and sheets and they immediately took care of it.
We tried to move past this once again, UNTIL the next morning when I woke up and found what looked like a BED BUG crawling on me under my shirt. I did more investigating on the mattress and found casings of dead bugs in the mattress crevices. I immediately called the front desk who sent up the manager and tried to downplay all of my concerns and negative experiences thus far. He offered to move us to another room, but I declined and said we wanted to leave. The only positive thing about this, is that they refunded me the full amount of the stay and offered to find me another hotel. They were pretty professional, but I will never recommend this place and now I have to go back home and sanitize all of my belongings so I don’t infect my house.

Where to start– worth about a little above a motel 6. Just for the views.
Views are nice but if you are on the first floor you see your curtains because everyone walking by looks into your room!
Breakfast is packaged– well coffee is hot and there is some yogurt and hard boiled eggs.
Bathrooms are dingy and the ceilings are so low I hit my hands every time I was changing. Ugh. Water surges hot and cold.
In a busy part of town– like Disneyland busy… so if you are into t-​shirt shops… just saying
Go somewhere else– they really are not even close to the quality of motel for the money they charge.

3.5 Stars.
Orchards Inn is a good choice for those who want to stay in the heart of Sedona within walking distance of everything. There are three levels — the main level is considered the second floor. The rooms are old but well appointed with clean linens, a mini fridge, and standard TV. The bathroom left much to be desired and is in dire need of a remodel, particularly the sinks which had severe drainage issues. Look for discounted rates on travel websites like Trivago. Don’t pay full price.
What I really love about this hotel is the location and view. Every room has a panoramic view of the red rocks, and the balcony was a nice place to take it all in. There’s a small pool on the first floor with pool towels. The hotel is located steps away from the main road full of shops, restaurants, jeep tours, etc. The staff was friendly and the continental breakfast wasn’t bad (cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, banana/​whole kiwi, toast/​bagel, mini muffins/​danishes, hard boiled egg, juices, milk, coffee and tea). I was fine with this until I saw another Unilocaler’s photo had scrambled eggs and diced fruit. I didn’t see any hot breakfast items during our two-​night stay!
I hope they fix up their bathrooms and repair the sinks because I’d love to come back for another visit.

My family and I stayed here July 27 — 29. I can’t say enough good things about how the staff went out of their way to accommodate our needs for handicapped accessible rooms next to each other. The rooms were a bit shop-​worn but very very clean and quiet with comfy beds.
There were a couple of downsides, though. One was the lack of seating in the room — there was one desk chair. Also, there was a nice balcony overlooking the beautiful red rocks but the hard wrought iron chairs made sitting impossible for more than a few minutes. A couple of cushions would have improved that immensely. Another bad thing was parking — there never seemed to be enough spaces. It would have been much worse if the restaurant (closed for remodeling) had been open.
In retrospect, I realized that I should have booked a suite which has a couch. Next time, for sure.

We stayed at the Orchards Inn for 4 nights and really enjoyed our stay.
The staff was friendly and accommodating. Our room was cleaned everyday and the front desk was quick to help when we realized that we forgot to pack toothpaste!
The free breakfast was a good option for mornings when we were in a hurry but I can see why some other reviewers complained. Coffee, juice, cereal, granola, yogurt, bagels and toast were offered. No hot breakfast options but it was plenty for us!
The views are amazing! We stayed in room 302 and had a great view of Snoopy Rock. If we weren’t busy everyday, I could sit on our balcony and relax the day away! The king bed was comfortable and the room was well appointed with a flat screen tv, fridge and gas fireplace.
Orchards Inn is is the heart of Uptown Sedona. Lots of shopping and restaurants within a quick walk of the Inn. It’s also a quick drive to West Sedona.
My only complaint was that you could occasionally hear your neighbors. The walls are a bit thin and in the mornings we could hear showers and door slamming. Not a big deal since we spent most days exploring and hiking the Red Rocks.

Why do you come to Sedona? For the vistas! We’ll this hotel has amazing vistas and private balconies to enjoy them. The rooms are clean and spacious. Mine had a beautiful fireplace and living room. A continental breakfast was included. Waking up to the sun cresting the tops of the Red Rocks is amazing. There is an outdoor pool but it was a little to chilly in February to enjoy it. Parking is close to the rooms which makes loading and unloading a pleasure.
If you are looking for a comfortable bed, ambiance and waking up to the most beautiful view in the world — this is the place for you. I will be back

Stay here instead of L’Auberge!
We were looking at L’Auberge but were put off by their prices. We looked up the hill and saw this place. Turns out Orchards Inn has better views at a fraction of the price.
Rooms were basic but clean and ours even had a nice working fireplace in it as well. For the price I think it’s unfair people complain about the breakfast. Sure it’s basic but it’s included.
