Wine World & Spirits

I liked it while it was in business but it’s gone now and the staff are now working at other wine stores in the area. Apparently, based on what someone on the inside told me, it’s going out of business due to poor management and bad accounting.

As of 02−26−16 the store is closed until further notice. Through the windows it looks like they have a stocked store but it is not open for business.

They have an über selection, but sadly, they are closed until further notice. The sign on the door states that they are in the midst of a licensing snafu with the wa liquor & cannabis control board.

Wine World is the «Disneyland of Wine» in Seattle! They rotate their wine & beer frequently inside their cavernous space on 45^th overlooking I-​5. They have two private spaces where they hold special events & tastings. I recently attended a Castello Banfi tasting in the smaller of the two that was easily the best tasting I’ve attended in 10 years! The wine was exquisite and the presenter, Luciano, was BORN to show the wine and teach people about Italian wine!!!
Arnie Millan, WW’s resident Bordeaux expert, is truly one of the most knowledgeable and affable advisors on that subject west of the Mississippi. With a venue of that scale (you’ll wish you brought your roller skates!), a monumental selection of wine, champagne, beer & booze, PLUS very competitive pricing, makes Wine World & Spirits a true «destination resort» of alcohol in Seattle.
SAD UPDATE: As of 12÷19÷15 WINE WORLD & spirits is CLOSED until further notice. Closed by order of the Washington State Liquor And Cannabis control board. No further information is available at this time.

HUGE space (like a Walmart) with a fantastic selection of wines and spirits, but what makes this place better than anywhere else is the staff and that they know their stuff !!! I was very impressed that each time I stop in ask for advice ranging from what scotch I am looking for, a wine for a party in this price range; every time they knock it out of the park.
Anyhow once you walk in you are met by a bunch of local wines, a bar area where they hold tastings, further back there is a good selection of beers and more wine. Once you reach the back of the store that is where all of my fun begins; the spirits. One of the employees told me that they have the largest selections of spirits in Washington, however this was before the trend of Total Wine and Bevmo, so I don’t know if this is still true. Anyhow what they do have is a wide price range of scotch and some truly unique stuff.
So if you find yourself in the neighborhood or driving I-​5 north of Seattle then stop in. They are a quick exit off of I-​5 and worth a visit.

Very big store with a HUGE selection of spirits, wines, and beers! They have a wine and sake tasting section in the middle, and they are very knowledgeable in the various selections. Would highly recommend coming here to get an idea what type of wine you would like. Only thing giving this place 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that it’s extremely overpriced for what they offer you. Got a bottle of liquor at safeway for $ 10 cheaper. Probably more worth it to go through their wine selections instead of their spirits.

They used to have an excellent selection of spirits but on a visit today the spirits shelves were mostly bare. Hopefully it’s temporary because the sales staff is super knowledgable and usually aren’t trying to push certain «corporate» brands.

I came here with a friend for the wine sampling on a Friday after 6 p.m. The bald, heavy-​set Caucasian man serving the liqueurs (the owner?) was rude to me. I had seen him offer a couple something he hadn’t offered me, so I went back to see if I had missed something. He said to me, «What do you need?» in a not very friendly tone of voice.
The other person, who was serving samples from Oregon wineries was very friendly to everyone.
My friend wound up buying a whole of French pinot noir, but I don’t think I would go back to this store because of the first man embarrassed me.
The store itself looks as though it were once a 7 – 11, but I understand you can get good deals here.
I appreciate the wine tastings at the Bastille Day in Madison Valley every July, I wish there were more of them. This place soured me wine tastings at least at this store.

I will preface this review by saying I am not a wine afficianado. The only wine I know anything about is Riesling (because I have a shameless sweet tooth), and in particular German Rieslings. There is vineyard that I have been searching high and low for but have had little luck in finding. Unfortunately, I did not find it stocked at Wine World & Spirits. BUT! I was instead helped by a wonderful gentleman who not only knew of the vineyard I was searching for but had tasted (and enjoyed) their Rieslings. He then proceeded to nerd out and gave me at least 4 recommendations for what to try. I made a purchase and was not disappointed :)

What an awesome store filled with super friendly and knowledgable people. Stopped by just to pick up a few new wines, was immediately greeted by Randy. He was very enthusiastic and we exchanged a great conversation about all different kinds of wines, wine connoisseurs and even about some sakes. He even gave me great recommendations of other wine stores to check out.
They have great selections and they are all nicely organized by what state/​country/​region the wines have come from. Big bold signs make it super easy to get you what you’re looking for fast. Definitely looking forward to finally making it to a Friday night flight with their somm Arnie, I’ve heard so many good things, and Randy referred to him as the Spok of wine lol.
The most amazing thing, is that they carry Como Sur Sauvignon Blanc AND Lini Lambrusco! Holy heck! I’ve been searching for these wines far and wide! I almost gave up cause I was just not having any luck at finding them. This has definitively saved me lots of money trying to ship from Italy or NY. If you haven’t tried these two, I highly recommend you do. The Como Sur Sauv Blanc is so refreshing and crisp, with a great floral nose. So perfect for this hot summer weather. And the Lambrusco is a sparkling red wine that has great fruit but is not too sweet. I’m so in love with that Lambrusco!

Yes, this is a WORLD of wine. This place is huge, and has an enormous selection of wines from different states, countries, and different types of grape. I stopped in here for a private wine tasting in the back room so that my sister could choose wines to be served at her wedding. The sommelier had picked out a few ahead of time based on her menu, and they were all amazing. The tricky part was actually choosing which ones to order. In the end, she went with 2 reds and one white, which was our introduction to the infamous torrontes grape.
If you enjoy wine but don’t know anything about it, I would strongly recommend coming here. They will find something perfect for your discerning palate.

I wanted to send a bourbon as a gift to be delivered, since I live in LA. David and Adam were great! I know zero about bourbon, they walked me through pricing and delivered the gift, wrapped and all, within an hour.
Gift receiver also highly recommends this store for great selection.

A great selection of wines and distillers spirits.
Prices can be a bit higher than other liquor and alcohol stores, but the location helps to make up for that.
I would be very interested in sitting at their bar to try some seasonal tap rotations.
This is also a great spot were our monthly whiskey collective meeting is held. You can’t beat that backdrop of Mt. Rainier.

Large selection but I was very disappointed with the price of the whiskey I was looking for. They were selling for $ 79 a bottle which is $ 64 at other stores nearby.
It was so much more expensive that I can’t see myself going back there and buying anything without worrying about overpaying.

I was there last night awesome service was greeted when I walked in the store was very clean the shelfs were full staff was there to answer questions and new what they were talking about. Check out was easy short lines was thanked for coming in. Parking was easy and safe. I give them a 10 would go back again

I have been working with Ella for a few years to make sure that all my private events were stocked with all the bubbly beverages needed. In the beginning I would call and Ella could help just by knowing my head count and type of alcohol needed. She has helped with launch parties, summer picnics, staff events, Halloween parties, etc. She was always able to get what I needed and she was able to provide an amazing alternative in a pinch if my deadline was days and the provider was low or couldn’t get it to them in time. They deliver for a nominal fee, and finally this year I made it into the store, just as Ella was leaving the purchasing counter to become a buyer. I know that Wine World will continue to be awesome with her on the payroll. She bends over backwards for you and knows her stuff.
This last year I needed to stock a private wine cellar and she did it! (I know very little about wine) I told her region and she took care of the rest.
When I went into the store, the rest of the staff was fantastic. The checkout that I was at was a little backed up and there was a staff member that had just walked into the store, they walked right up to the register didn’t even take their coat off to check me out.
They are amazing!

酒具不多，酒杯除了几款主要的全缺，不过卖价还挺实在，还零售一些佐酒的橄榄什么的乱糟糟一堆，烈酒区好酒价钱是为天坑。。尤其是鬼子的malt。。和抢钱无异。。你见过17年响牌卖90多块的？我特么。。我只能给双膝一软。。
然后要吐槽下酒，美国酒和北美雪茄一样，质量参差不齐，味道诡异奇葩难以把握，没有导购你只有空自对着酒架发呆。。可能的原因就是所谓ava制度只规定产区没有对品种产量种植方式做出明确规定导致。。而且那些美国评酒人私自对酒进行百分制打分会有巨大的误导作用，请盯紧酒评标签上的小牌子形容的口感和味道而不是分数，不懂问导购就好。。他们在那闲的蛋疼巴不得找你聊天。。然后，市场上去收一些你想要的特定酒款是非常不现实的，好的酒庄并不大量对外发售，你只能去酒庄填你的联系方式然后等waiting list。。通常时间。。给个参考，columbia valley的我填过几个，waiting时间1年到3年不等。。

A buddy was in an accident and a few friends got together to deliver him a bottle of booze at the hospital. Called around the Seattle area, no takers. Talked to Wine World and not only did they deliver, they went above and beyond in every way. When I needed a recommendation within a price range, they got their specialist on the line who recommended the perfect bottle. Ella, the attendant, took care of every detail including a card with a personalized note, wrapped the bottle elegantly and delivered it same day. Classy.
Amazing service and if you go there and are a fan of Booze, the only experience I can relate it to is when I was 8 and went into toys R us the first time. Don’t judge.

I’m not a Seattle-​ite, so forgive me for being less than impressed that there is a giant supermarket full of wine. I get that having a giant foot print of a store is a big deal where prices is a premium, but um, I have to say, this isn’t exactly wine paradise and I have a few bones to pick.
Before I get grumpy, I’ll give love for ample parking, friendly staff, a beer selection my ubber beer snobby buddy gave the thumbs up to and a loyalty program that gives you 10% off.
Where I get cranky is being told by the staffer that their wine-​guru makes a few picks a week that you HAVE to try because they sell out super fast and people call to reserve cases of the stuff.
Staffer new little of the wines she was trying to convince me were delicious which isn’t a HUGE deal… its not like I’m a somelier or anything, but um, yeah… they sort of sucked.
Moreover, the table wines I usually get were $ 2 more than what i later found out I could get at QFC.
For the ubber wine elite, this may well be your paradise, but for me, it was depersonalized and overhyped and I’ll be keeping a look out for smaller places with more informed staff.

I’m not a big wine drinker. When I entertain at home, people are always kind and bring wines of all kinds to the house, but if they don’t drink it, I will at a later time and that’s the only time I really imbibe.
BUT Wine World has a heckuva lot more than wine here! They have fine foods like truffles, cheeses, charcuterie fixings, and Theo chocolate, and a large assortment of beer (and hard liq) but the beer selection is pretty much where I hang out… and my stomach is normally where beer likes to hang out on me… c’est la vie.
They have a large selection of beer singles, small to large, but I am looking forward to the gluten-​free beer thing to take off even more than it has. Wine World doesn’t carry a large assortment. Grist is sold in 6-​packs here, but it’s not to my taste since I like stouts, and beers like Manny’s.
They also have a beer tap bar, where you can refill your growlers with local favorites :)
Today, I got helped by Christina (sp?) and when she told me that they didn’t have the kind of GF beer I was looking for, she called down the street to ask if they carried anything equivalent. THAT is amazing service, right therr.
You have my heart, my wallet, and a few inches on my belly, Wine World.

For being a store dedicated almost solely to selling ethanol-​containing drinks, this place is massive. If you’re looking for anything from your cheap 3-​buck chuck to really, really expensive wine from every corner of the globe and ranging from the lightest of whites to the deepest reds, this is your best bet.
They also have a a few shelves of beer (probably ~70% micro), I wasn’t that impressed with the selection, but with a name like «wine world» my expectations weren’t high
Major Pros:
*** A free machine to rapidly chill your white wines in just a few minutes
*** A free wine tasting bar (~15 wines when I was there), in addition to an awesome promotion with local oyster growers — only $ 1 for the freshest kumamoto oysters I’ve ever had!
*** Behind the wine bar was beer bar with a few brews on tap for filling growlers, a few TVs for watching sports, and some big, comfy chairs for drinking/​lounging,
*** Fantastic, super-​friendly-​helpful staff
*** A nice separate room for private tastings/​events
The only con I noted were the high beer prices; most 6 packs were a few bucks more than what I’m used to in PDX. Not sure how wine prices compared since I’m not a wino (yet :-)
