Sopping wet, super hot Púné. I was greeted by two gentlemen and we discussed the quality of said Púné. After thoroughly describing the Púné I proceeded to order a 12 oz Americano, it was good. Púné is good to. Púné Púné Púné.

Their lattes are incredible here! Service is always efficient, but I don’t really like the vibe in here(especially the oldish looking green carpeting). Happy to grab a latte on the go here but never really want to sit and linger here. Wish I could give 3.5 stars! Recommended place to grab coffee on the go.

Not only do they have wonderful coffee & pastries, but this is a great place to enjoy a book or people watch! I always like getting a seat in one of the comfy chairs by the window and enjoying my coffee. Sometimes there can be quite a wait during busy times, but it is definitely worth it.

I’m so happy this place is so close to home. They have a really good selection of classics coffees and their small bites are super tasty. A bit on the pricey side, but if you get their 10 drink coupon, you get two drinks free. Totally worth it, as they have all the variations anyone would wish for — from almond or soy milk to dark chocolate or orange flavor! A must try in belltown.

Great coffee, great location! BUT! they need to change their lighting, make it dimmer. and also the music is too quite, it is there but u can’t here anything. We had hard time finding a power outlet. But i would love to come back.

I love this coffee shop. Great people watching and larger chairs facing out towards the street making it a great spot to study and read. Coffee is good, nice portions and it’s really really warm and cozy.

5 stars :cashier Ethan, answered our questions and offered suggestions, energetic, enthusiastic –1.5 stars the Hawaiian roll tastes stale, bland, nothing special -.5 latte with almond milk not as sweet as i would have liked, not really memorable. first sip reaction, meh. I prefer Bakery Nouveau for pastries and lattes. I’m not an employee or regular at either place.

The velvet foam is like no other! I like this location. Perhaps is Friends were set in Seattle, this could be the central perk! Super roomy, lots of armchairs and tables. Dog friendly. Skilled baristas. I just wish that there was a larger selection of baked goods… or maybe even bagels.

The coffee is fantastic, the baristas know what they’re doing and there is always room to sit! Huge fan, can see why it’s a Seattle favorite!

Review upgraded to 5 stars as of November ’15. The obnoxious barista of olde has magically disappeared, and I’m happy to report that I now get my mezzos here three mornings a week.(It’s within walking distance of my house… Convenience brought me back for a second chance, now the awesome service is ensuring that I return.) There are a couple staff members here who seem to have been transplanted from the West Seattle branch of Uptown Espresso — I recognize their friendly faces. The chit-chat is always intelligent and friendly, and the coffee is fantastic. The owner/manager makes frequent appearances during the week, and can be found balancing the cash register in between serving customers and making conversation; he’s engaged and involved, plus the quirky accounting is entertaining. Uptown has redeemed itself in splendid fashion.

I love Uptown. After making fun of the«velvet foam» thing for months, I ran in for a latte. And oh my gosh it actually is velvet foam and I’m officially addicted. It’s a great place to study. One note, bring your devices fully charged. Outlets are few and far between. And, for whatever reason, if you plug something in it probably won’t stay connected. It’s incredibly frustrating/

I’m usually the type of person who likes a lot of variety in coffees(like Starbucks), but even though this place isn’t really like Starbucks, this place is pretty good. My friend loves this place and comes here daily for his coffee and he took me here while I was visiting Seattle. They have the basic coffees(black coffee, lattes, teas, etc) on their menu. Me, usually liking white chocolate mochas, etc was very difficult for me to choose an item on the list that was appealing to me. I ended up ordering the earl grey tea, and to be completely honest, it was pretty damn good. I enjoyed it. This wouldn’t be my to-go place for coffee but for a small coffee shop that remembers and treats their customers well, I wouldn’t mind coming here once and a while.

I popped into this place for a quick hot chocolate, on my way to the Space Needle. Well…25 minutes later I got it. I had four people in front of me. There was only one barista, which was annoying. He was also the one running the cash register. So you couldn’t purchase your drink and sit down. Very weird. He was really kind though, when it got to my turn. One plus, there was a bowl with chocolate chip so I added more to my drink. The ambiance of the place is a little odd. I guess I’m used to modern coffee shops but this one is a little frumpy and lacking design. Which is definitely okay just not what I was expecting. I really liked the green carpet but it could use a deep clean. Overall, I won’t be going back. I was disappointed bc it had good reviews. The hot chocolate was okay and the service was sub-par. Don’t go here if you need anything quickly.

Go to spot for my morning shot of caffeine. Service is great and they keep the line moving fast. I recommend the Americano as it is the cheapest Venti available. If you aren’t cheap like me, give the London Fog a go.

Came here to escape the pouring rain and warm up. Free wifi was a plus. But the price of the drinks doesn’t fit the quality. Too high a price for bitter and«average» coffee.

Pros: * Space, space, and more space. One of the largest coffee shops I have ever been to * Free wifi, and you don’t have to bother the baristas for a password * Decent espresso, although it needed a touch of honey to make it more palatable * Despite the long line when I arrived, the service was unbelievably fast * Unique drink offerings, such as the Caffee Generra(mocha with orange zest), Caffe Viennese(latte with cinnamon and velvet foam), Caffe Mezzo(½ latte, ½ americano), and Caffe Pune(a puny latte… so a cortado basically?) * Fun noncoffee drinks available: London Fog(a favorite of mine), steamers, and italian sodas * Competitive prices($ 2.50 for an espresso, $ 3.40 for a latte) * Vegan snacks available * Several tea options * Sidewalk seating available * Full-length windows all around * Large, distressed tables * Very clean space Cons: * Espresso is a little harsh(I needed to add quite a bit of honey) * The interior design of the place makes it reminiscent of a hotel continental breakfast room(green carpet, yellow wallpaper); however, it’s still an attractive place(thanks to some beautiful mirrors, an attractive menu board, and the aforementioned tables) * Espresso came to me just in a small cup – no saucer or spoon. I guess this isn’t a huge deal, but it took me by surprise as I have never received espresso this way * Very quiet space — no music whatsoever * Espresso does not come with sparkling water :(which is always a bummer I would take a large group here and not feel guilty about taking up too much space, but it’s not the kind of place I would find conducive to «getting work done» as it lacks that certain«coffee shop energy» that keeps me focused.

Disclosure: I enjoy good coffee but am not a super picky snob. If you are I guess you’re better somewhere else? Idk that’s what I hear from snobs but I like their drinks. The ambience is lovely, I have spent lots of time just hanging out here. The guy that is usually working is wonderful.

*5STARS — if you want a great place to open up your books and laptops without anyone looking down at you. *3STARS if you want to have coffee in a chic café that the name«uptown espresso» may suggest. They serve Fonte coffee, have great lattes(frozen ones too!), vegan baked goods and open wifi. They also have homeless drunks walking in with barefeet and old blankets with some cash in hand thinking it’s a bar of some sort, old musty green carpet and a hodgepodge of tables. These are all reasons why it’s not the best coffee place if you’re looking for something chic. However, they have great study-worthy tables, outlets, fellow studious ones, and fast internet.

This place is where I would have loved to study when I was at uni. Nowadays, I’d love to settle down with a book! First off, the coffee was perfect. Strong but not overly bitter with a nice body and no nasty aftertaste. Customer service was great — friendly, competent, and fast — and everything you needed was right there at the cash register. Being able to grab a sleeve and lid and my coffee while paying rather than looking around for the«station» was a pleasant change. But the other truly important part of a good coffee place is atmosphere. This place had that. I felt like I’d wandered into one of the hidden away, serious coffee shops in Sydney in the 90s. Thin green carpet that looks like it belongs on a billiard table. Overly high exposed ceilings that don’t look like they were artistically designed that way. And funky furniture that’s eclectic and not all matchy matchy. Without feeling pretentious. And again, great coffee!

Looking for a great cuppa with free WIFI and and outdoor seat to celebrate sunny Spring weather? This is a great spot to get work done, host meetings, read a book or meet a friend. It’s a large café and lines can be long at peak coffee hours but it moves fast and service is quick and friendly. They have hot tea, iced tea, and other beverages for non-coffee folks. There are Alt Weeklies and event posters and fliers for people looking for reading material. There are some areas with soft seating, there are bistro tables and large tables. Probably not ideal if you’re wanting to hunker down with 5+ friends but perfect for smaller groups and meetings. Plenty of space to find a place to sit without worrying about bothering anyone nearby.

After dinner in Belltown we wanted a place to sit down, talk and have a sweet treat. We came across this place and were immediately drawn in! Very comfortable seating and free wifi-this makes for a great study spot and we plan to return for an afternoon coffee date. Very friendly service, great coffee. I’m there!

I have been eye balling this coffee shop for months now as it always seems busy and seems like such a cozy environment. I finally stopped in now for a cocoa in this 30 degree Seattle day. I’m shocked to be disappointed. I don’t have high expectations. Especially when it comes to ordering a milk chocolate hot cocoa. But I’m so surprised that when I ordered a 16 ounce cocoa, I was given maybe 4 ounces of cocoa and the rest was steamed milk froth and whipped cream. I genuinely thought I picked up the wrong drink until I proceeded to mix it up and peak past the foam. For the most part, I love the environment but the actual drink was such a letdown that I don’t think I’ll be back.

At least two or three times a week I start my morning with a quick jaywalk across 4th avenue to uptown espresso. The velvet foam? Yes it’s great! But the dark chocolate mochas? Even Better!!! Ad the pastries and croissants? Absolutely fantastic(strongly recommend the ham and Brie, warmed up). The service isn’t über fast, the décor isn’t über chic, and the eccentricities are like the clientele: always changing(and always odd). But that’s why you go with an independent instead of a corporate coffee shop.
