The World’s Greatest Seattle Walking Tour

It wasn’t for lack of effort on the part of the guide as he was enthusiastic and certainly put energy into it. But there really was minimal content and it just seemed to drag (maybe it was his delivery?). I’d suggest the company look at what content they’ve compiled AND what the guides are actually delivering, because maybe there’s a disconnect. The guide was careful to say that this was a historical tour and not an architectural or restaurant tour. Absolutely fair.
But I do look for rich content that I can’t readily glean from a guidebook: pretty deep on history, some on the key landmark buildings, politically important places and events, fun anecdotes. There were some, but I expected a richer set.
We’ve done walking tours in many cities and I can’t say I’d recommend this to anyone.

My husband and I bought Groupons for this tour for ourselves and 2 of our friends. We loved the tour. Jai was able to answer our questions in depth. He is a wonderful, knowledgeable host, just having fun being out there and enjoying showing off this wonderful city. It’s a casual, fun and inexpensive overview of Seattle’s history. I would recommend it to people who lived in Seattle especially!

This was an excellent, inexpensive, informative tour of Seattle. The tour guide is the sole employee, is extremely knowledgeable about Seattle’s history, and is very willing to make the tour interactive, answering questions as they come. I’ve lived and have been around Seattle for almost 10 years and I was still in a state of almost constant surprise. Highly recommended.

As a native and a former employee of both the UW archives (Special Collections) and Seattle Municipal Archives, I assumed I would be a pretty hard sell for this sort of thing. However, I completely enjoyed this tour! It was fabulous to put all the events I learned about Seattle’s formative years into context. I also enjoyed the additional info about our recent history – the grunge scene, and the WTO riots. The tour guide was quite knowledgeable, friendly and was even able to make himself heard over all the Duck tours that kept passing us. I would recommend this tour to anyone who would like to get an excellent overview of Seattle’s history for an extremely reasonable price.

Well worth the $ 10.00 you’ll spend! It was so great the first time, I had to go back for a second tour. I went with co-​workers the first time and then took my friends and their young babies (in strollers!). The tour guide was extremely friendly and knowledgable about the city. He points out landmarks, and also goes deeper into how Seattle was founded and how it became the city we know and love today.
I highly recommend this tour for out of town guests as well as those people who have grown up in this city. It’s an easy walk for adults as well as kids. You’ll be entertained the entire two hour journey!
