Tek-Line Construction

We just completed a kitchen remodel and the contractor on the project was Tek-​Line Construction. We had previously worked on other projects with another contractor but due to unusual circumstances that contractor was not available. Through a relative we heard of Tel-​line and gave them a call. They are great people to work with. Ian was the main contact and Conor was the main worker. They were very knowledgeable and personable. They were patient with us, even through 3 design changes, which meant they had to give 3 different bids. Once the project started they did all the coordination with the subcontractors and scheduled the material and labor. They communicated with us almost daily and when they said they would be here they were here. Conor has many skills beyond construction. He did all the plumbing, the installation of some of the appliances, some outside deck work, in fact he built a whole new stairway. He also did painting and siding work. His work is of the highest quality. He was also great to just talk to about things other than the project. The kitchen turned out beautiful and also very functional. We couldn’t be happier. We would highly recommend Tek-​line construction to anyone for any remodel project that they have.

We have a friend who’s a local architect, and who has worked with many of the Seattle-​area general contractors. After buying a house that needed a major remodel ($ 150k, 3 months), we turned to him for the designs and to Tek-​Line for the construction, based on his recommendation. We’re not construction experts, so trust was critical in our selection of a general contractor. From our first meeting with Ted and Ian, it was clear that they were straight shooters; they didn’t try to low-​ball us on price and find extra charges later, and they didn’t use our inexperience to inflate their estimates. When one element of the design turned out to be very expensive to implement, Ian suggested alternatives that kept us within budget, but still met all our needs. There were many decisions to be made about fixtures and finishes, and he helped us select from suppliers that could provide what we wanted at reasonable prices. When a significant issue was discovered (that had not been revealed by the pre-​sale inspection), he found ways to solve it while remaining on schedule. Perhaps most importantly, we visited the house almost every day to observe the construction and answer questions, and he welcomed our participation; we were able to see the quality and care of Tek-Line’s work first-​hand, and we were very impressed.
If the best indicator of a good experience is repeat business, then Tek-​Line has achieved it. Our first experience was so positive that we’ve continued to use their services for new work that’s come up, and expect to use them for all our construction needs in the future.
