Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning

Hadn’t had my windows cleaned in YEARS and decided it was time to enjoy my garden from the inside of my house as well as the outside. This company was referred to me by a neighbor and they did a GREAT job.
Great quality work and amazing value! They even gave me a quote for cleaning my gutters in the fall that was way less than I expected. Will be using them again for sure.

I had SWGC out to my home and they did a pretty good job. Not overly amazing, but pretty good and my windows were in serious need of cleaning due to recent heavy duty bird activity messing them up. We’d recently installed a new deck with glass and metal frame railing and a few spots got missed that shouldn’t have been, but overall I am happy with the work for the price. Although now that I’ve just seen the invoice I received, I was supposed to also have the railing around the glass panes wiped down… the guy didn’t do it. I’m downgrading my review based on this new info.

These guys did a great job! We haven’t ever had such clean windows and it makes a difference! They made our roof look like new. Matt gave us a quote on the phone, Josh came over promptly, he was friendly and professional. It was all so easy, we’ll call them everytime. I think they power wash decks too!

This a great company! The services are always explained in detail prior to implementation. The quality of the service is excellent. I recommend this company to anyone that needs their windows or gutters cleaned.

I can’t praise this company enough! We’ve had them out twice now and they always do a great job. They’ll always work with me to find a convenient appointment, and I have kind of a hectic schedule so that is quite a task, let me tell you. They’re also some of the nicest guys ever.
We’ve had both Matthew and Gustavo out. I recommend asking for one of them if they’re available (although I’m sure everybody is awesome). I hadn’t had my windows cleaned in years, but when Matthew was done they were sparkling! I almost forgot I had any windows at all. Gustavo was the one who did our gutters, and besides doing a phenomenal job (no more waterfalls over my doorway!!!) he even took the time to let me know that we had a lot of moss on the back of my roof, and took a few photos. I’m going to have them back to remove it when the weather gets a little drier.
Long story short, I totally recommend using them. They’re awesome and affordable, and we plan on having them out at least once a year. Thanks guys!

I specifically selected Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning due to the Unilocal reviews. That was a mistake. And perhaps it’s roll of the dice: other reviews indicate that they got the owner himself to come out and do the work. I wasn’t so lucky. I got left with the runt of the litter, apparently.
«Jesse» was almost always my point of contact. I specifically wanted to get a quote for the roof moss, debris, and gutter to be cleaned. He confirmed an appointment to have a guy come out to do an assessment.
5/​7, the guy does not show at the appointed time. I call Jesse to find out where he is. Jesse doesn’t know, but will call him. Roughly an hour late, «James» shows up. He apologized for being late and gave the roof a once-​over from the ground; he quotes $ 150 for the gutter cleaning and $ 500-​ish for the roof, plus $ 50 for hook/​harness requirement due to what he felt was an overly steep roof. Per James, «they always put a hook up there so you can attach a harness.» I asked him if he wanted to actually go up on the roof to confirm the hook was or was not there. He declined: «Nah, I can see it from here, not a lot. Should be easy…»
Guess what? James forget the harness. He also forgot the roof cleaning tools. So he can’t do the moss cleaning. He can only do the gutter cleaning. Unfortunately, if he does the gutter cleaning and then later does the roof cleaning, he’ll have to clean the gutter again, resulting in a double charge. This isn’t good, it’s beginning to rain heavily. I call Jesse, who agrees to just have James clean the downspouts to get me through the rain period, then have James come back out to do the full work. I’m fine with this approach. Unfortunately, James isn’t available until ⁵⁄₂₀. Means I have to take off work, which I HATE doing.
Luckily I had another contractor, Birdbusters (a review on them shall be posted) on ⁵⁄₂₀. So I agree to the ⁵⁄₂₀ day for Sound Window & Gutter. James is supposed to arrive at 9am and work through the day.
⁵⁄₂₀ rolls around. This is where it gets silly.
9AM: no James.
10AM: no James.
10:30AM: no James. I call Jesse to find out what’s going on. The response is essentially, «he’s not answering, I’m sure that means he’s on his way, maybe traffic’s bad.» Traffic is actually quite light and smooth, as most everyone is at their jobs already (like James should be!) Jesse: «well, we do book a range, between 9 and 10am.» (And it’s already past that point, which is why I called!) Jesse says to give it a few more minutes.
11:26AM: James calls apologizing. Apparently, he overslept. Says he’ll be at my house in 30 minutes, and again, apologizes.
12:10PM: Birdbusters arrives. Mind, they have to get on the roof in order to get to vents in certain places, especially over the dormer and the rear of the house. One guy’s in the attic cleaning out, the other is handling the vents.
12:23PM: I happen to notice a beat up truck in my driveway with nobody in it. There’s a ladder perched on the side of the house. I assume it’s James, but since he didn’t bother to check in with me to let me know he finally arrived (over 30 minutes AFTER he said and nearly 4 hours after he was supposed to), I have no way of verifying, and I’m waiting on the Birdbusters guy in the attic.
12:35PM: Birdbusters attic guy is all done and goes out to help the vent guy. On the way out I notice James is sitting in the truck on the phone, not actually cleaning the roof. When I confront him about it: «looks like you don’t have an anchor up there.» OK… so basically, he can’t do the roof cleaning. Again. They don’t bother installing whatever anchor they need to do the work, and because he was so arrogant and refused to go up on the roof to verify he had everything he needed like I asked him to back on 5/​7, he’s now wasted a trip and I’ve wasted time. I call Jesse to find out what the deal is, he has no clue what’s going on and doesn’t know why James didn’t verify this issue the first time. Meanwhile, Birdbusters had NO problem navigating the roof even at steep parts.
There’s more, but Unilocal has a character limit. In summary: Avoid this company. Please.

I didn’t realize how filthy my windows were until Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning showed me the light, literally. These guys did a fantastic job cleaning my windows, not a speck of anything left on the glass when they were done. They even managed to get those basement windows right by the ground to sparkle, that’s no easy task.
I also had these guys clean out the gutters. Mine were more like planter boxes before these guys got to them and cleared all that garbage out.
I had them do the whole job one afternoon while I was at work. When I came home the only indication that anyone had been there was that everything was clean. They left no trace of their visit.
Matthew did an excellent job of explaining the cost up front and exactly what their service entails. Next time I need my windows cleaned I’ll be calling Sound Window & Gutter Cleaning again.

We had Sound Window and Gutter clean out all our gutters (not just the inside, but the grimy, mossy outside as well), wash all our windows, and remove the moss from our roof, as well as apply a moss preventative. All this for a very reasonable price. Matt is extremely responsive and explained everything in advance. The estimate was pretty much exactly what the total ended up being, so there were no surprises. Josh did the work, and our gutters, roof and windows are spotless and I mean spotless! He did a fantastic job. I do not hesitate to recommend Sound Window and Gutter to anyone at all. They rule.

I just had Sound Window and Gutter clean my windows for the second time this past weekend (4÷24÷2010). I had them out a year ago and they did just a great job that of course I called them again this year. Matthew, the owner, came out on a Saturday and did our windows for us on this visit. He is amazingly skilled with a squeegee, fast, polite and thorough. He was running a bit late because another job took longer than expected, and he actually CALLED to tell me he was running behind and would it be okay if he arrived an hour later than scheduled I can’t remember the last time someone working on my home actually bothered to communicate with me that they were running behind.
The total cost for my whole house was $ 200, including cleaning the screens (which were filthy) and this is less than other bids I received from contractors on Angie’s List and ServiceMagic.
I highly recommend this company to do excellent work at a fair price. You also won’t feel worried leaving them unsupervised. Matthew comes across as a very nice, genuine and honest person. Five stars-​plus!

I would not recomend this company at all. They provide poor workmanship and very poor customer service. One excuse after another for why the problem accurred. The price quotes for the job were on the average $ 50.00 higher than other companies.
