Store Closing

March — April 2014

Planet Happy’s mission is to promote imaginative and intelligent play while setting a higher standard for children’s products. We focus on carrying beautifully crafted natural wooden toys, games, books, and more. All of our products fall into at least one of the following categories: socially responsible, all natural, organic, fairly traded, green (environmental awareness), recycled, and mom-owned.

We also have drop-in projects including a Button Bar (design your own button pins) and a Bath & Beauty Bar (make all-natural fragrances, lotion & bath salts). Our drop-in stations are open the same hours as our store — no appointment needed.

Note: We now have a public restroom and limited FREE Parking behind the store.

History

Established in 2006.

Planet Happy was born in 2006 as a just a website with a mission: play. learn. sustain. In April 2007, Bridgett built a little shop with a unique vision: an eco-friendly store that was also a boutique and a kid-friendly play space. With the help of the store mascots: Buttercup (the hedgehog) and our feathered friends (resident doves & finches), people quickly fell in love with the welcoming mood of the space. Her creation blossomed into a whimsical kind of toy store with open spaces and not so many boxes, but toys out to play with before you decide to buy.

In November 2008, Bridgett sold the store to best friends: Kelly & Kaylene. With their goal to carry on the mission and make it spectacular — Planet Happy has come a long way from just selling eco-friendly toys. We have drop-in craft stations, weekly craft classes, story time, birthday parties & more! We have an even wider range of eco-friendly toys, games and books. And the mascots are still here… so stop in and say hello!

Meet the Manager

Breah F.

Manager

Since I started in 2007, I have completely fallen in love with the unique space called Planet Happy (formerly Worldwide Child). Being young myself, I fit right in with the atmosphere of this wonderful toy store. I quickly became the store manager as Bridgett taught me the ins and outs of running the store. When Bridgett was diagnosed with Crones Disease, there was a major downfall in Bridgett’s amazing enthusiasm & energy. Running the store and taking care of her daughter while having this disease became too much to handle, so Bridgett sold the store in November 2008.

The new owners, Kelly & Kaylene fell in love with the store at first sight. They believed strongly in Planet Happy’s mission and wanted to see it flourish. With the two of them at the helm, Planet Happy remains a MOM-Owned company! I have worked with these wonderful ladies for the past year and I have had the chance to see the store blossom tremendously.
