Growing up I remember coming here for a friends birthday and loving it so it only felt fitting to bring my tea loving aunt here for her birthday. First off this place is tinnnnny. Like maybe 10 tables total and they’re pretty close together. While I don’t mind this it makes it hard when there’s a group of ten 6 year olds and their mothers who have zero manners but this isn’t the tea rooms fault. And to give them credit they did apologize numerous times because it was such a disaster and gave us a small discount on our $ 100+ bill because of it. The food is good (a bit pricey for what it is ex: $ 17 for a slice of quiche?!) as well as the tea selection and the staff was quite knowledgable but service could have been a bit better.

The place is a bit small and hidden, we got there a lot early for our reservation and they were very nice about fitting us in earlier. We ended up with an amazing spot by the corner with bunnies. The lighting is superb for photos!
There are tons of teas to choose from, they have samples to try as well. There are no sugar cubes and I feel the tea settings are not as British as some other places, but nevertheless the foods are delicious and fulfilling.

The tea itself is wonderful; lots of choices and all are served in their own pot, making it easy for each person to have their own type of tea. The teas are flavorful and I personally felt like the price for them was worth it.
The food on the other hand I felt was a bit overpriced for what you were getting. I had the pot pie, and my boyfriend had the smoked salmon omelette, they were both about $ 17 each. My pot pie was delicious, but it didn’t feel hot enough to have been taken to me directly from the kitchen it feels. The salad felt fresh, but almost room temperature.
The real concern I had was with the omelette. It was great for the first couple bites, but then when he got about ½ way through the omelette, there was a sudden appearance of sour cream that wasn’t spread evenly throughout the omelette’s insides, creating a huge, overly-​creamy center that was ill-​balanced with the egg of the omelette. The fresh fruit on the side of the omelette felt was crisp and cold, which was good.
My main problem with this tea room is the service I received before getting seated. When I went in I felt ignored by the staff that continued to walk past me without acknowledging my presence in the room. At first I figured it was because they were very busy, but a few minutes in I realized that they probably weren’t going to talk to me. I asked one of the waitresses how long it would take to be seated, and she kindly told me it would just take a moment. I thought, ok that must mean like what? 5, at most 10 minutes right? After all, there weren’t that many people inside. Nope. I stood and waited for another good 15 minutes. By then I started to get irritated. My boyfriend then asked again about when we would be seated, and we ended up waiting another 10 or so minutes before being seated. Afterwards however, service magically became better at the table. It was quite confusing how the staff attitude between seating and ordering miraculously changed.
Overall, I’d probably come back for the tea, maybe the pot pie if I’m really craving it. But the way we get seated really should be changed.

Adorable place with delicious tea and a huge variety of drink options. There are hot and iced tea options as well as alcoholic beverages. The service was friendly though slow. The bathroom was clean. The real issue with this place is how cramped is– they had to ask the table over to move over to fit our party of 4 in and we were still very cramped in the corner, up against the other table and a wall. The table was also very cluttered and difficult to maneuver things on it. The food for afternoon tea was good, though the price is a bit high– there’s fresh fruit, sandwiches, a very small quiche, and a small sausage wrap for «savory» foods and then breads, crumpet, cookies and other little pastries for sweets. The quiche and sausage wrap were lukewarm, they would’ve been better hot. The chicken almond and cucumber sandwich were both pretty good. The brownie bite and toffee cookie were delicious, the apricot bread and scone were just OK, and some foods weren’t memorable at all. The food needs to be either higher quality or a little cheaper. I think you’re paying for the experience more than the food and they can charge more because for the US it’s a unique experience– I’ve had far superior food in England during afternoon for less money. But it is a fun experience to have here.

Although it’s not your cheapest option, but the atmosphere and tea cups are absolutely adorable. Each little bite is a delight in the mouth. Definitely recommend it if you are looking for long relaxing conversations with sweet and savory snacks along with favorite choice of tea.

I have tried four times to make a reservation for tea and each time was abruptly turned away or
down. I have found the staff to be uncustomer service friendly. They are unwilling to make accommodations for any circumstance. Just a sorry and a click of the phone or quickly show you the door. They do not offer other times, days, anything for an inconvenience, unwilling to even sell you something for carry out. I have eating there many times when they first opened, but now they are popular it is all about the annoyance of customer. I would not recommend this place to anyone now.

Amazing, amazing and amazing. It’s so cute and dainty here. I freaking love it. The outside is so charming. Their tea… is wow. SO GOOD! I can’t wait to come here again. It’s sooo sooo fun. Their breakfast is just heaven on earth. I got their french toast. Me and my friend came here for our birthday (we’re bday twins, cool huh) and they put a candle in our breakfast. So cute and so kind of them. I am not kidding, I can’t wait to come here again! My experience was A+ fantastic.

This place smells really foul! The table setting was filthy and had food crumbs all over the placement. The afternoon tea was disgusting and bland. Also the servers were really pushy. I hate to be so negative because I’m pretty sure most parents like to take their children here… The only good thing here was the tea and sorbet.

This is a lovely spot for afternoon tea. It has all the fixings of a royal tea room and the teas to go along with it. My friend and I made reservations here on a Saturday afternoon for the afternoon tea option. This included two individual pots of tea and a three tiered serving dish full of delicious finger foods. One of the food items was a trio of sorbets from Olympic Mountain Ice Cream — so yummy! Another item was a butternut squash curried amuse bouche taster soup of sorts. Then there were the requisite cucumber sandwiches, and for my portion of the meat items the restaurant was able to accommodate with vegetarian alternatives. I wasn’t sure when we arrived if we would need to seek out lunch after our tea, but quickly realized that we had more than enough food to keep us satisfied. As such, we ended up bringing leftovers home!
I can imagine it would be a dream to come here as a child for a birthday tea party with family, although not so much with other little kids (it’s a small space so the noise might be a bit much!) I’m so happy to finally have made it over here and can’t wait to return!

I want to love this quaint (though a little too precious) tea room but when we made reservations for my mother in law’s birthday no one mentioned we were expected to order a $ 30+ per person «tea». We had all eaten lunch but after being gently scolded for only wanting tea and dessert, we ended up ordering from the lunch menu as a compromise, and spent over $ 100 on quiche, soup and a little cheese and fruit. In summary, not our cup of tea.

The food is delicious and always beautiful. They have the best teas too! We love going here!!!

I’ve had high tea at other places before and this is probably one of the best places. The price is reasonable and there’s so much attention to detail. Our servers were so attentive and nice.
The selection of teas is overwhelming but in a good way. Definitely try the lavender earl grey! The food was wonderful from the cookies to the scones and sandwiches and gingerbread, EVERYTHING was good. Will definitely come back!

Loved loved loved their holiday tea. My 3 year old (as well as all the adults) was beside herself with excitement over the decorations, food and overall experience. I’ve been to a lot of tea houses around the world, and this one is one of my absolute favorites! We will be back soon!

I absolutely love this place! The selection of tea is incredible and the tea for two came with some very delicious treats! Great variety of sweets and little sandwiches.
Overall a little bit pricey, but I think for the quality of food, the dedication of the staff to being super attentive and knowledgeable about all the teas and the overall experience I think it’s worth it to at least try once.
I loved every second of it and I will definitely be returning soon!

My friend and I took our four daughters here today to celebrate summer birthdays. We adore tea parties, and have been talking about coming here for years. Finally, my friend made a reservation for breakfast and we gave ‘er a go. The little girls loved the experience, but I’ve rocked out a royal tea with better food for cheaper.
YAY: Lovely décor; made me feel like I was walking into the tea room of my favorite British auntie, if I had one. The staff was friendly and accommodating; they gave each of the girls tiaras to wear during the meal, which was a highlight. When one of the girls didn’t like her meal, Katie, our tea hostess, had the kitchen whip up a wee grilled cheese sandwich free of charge.
The Queen’s Earl Grey tea was yummy, as was the strawberry peach, but the Cameronian was just okay. The vegetarian quiche was delicious, as was the sausage, potato, mushroom scramble that ended up as a takeaway. The sugar sprinkles are the best thing ever and I am totally stealing that idea.
BOO: Holy Mother of Pearl this place is overpriced! The kids’ «afternoon tea» was a pot of tea, a sorbet trio, a cookie, 4 tiny PBJ (or grilled cheese) finger sandwiches, a brownie, a fistful of purple cotton candy, a small plate of fruit, and a tiny saucer of too-​sweet chocolate sauce for dipping. TWENTY DOLLARS PER CHILD. That better have been the best effing PBJ my child has ever had.
The two-​egg scramble was $ 13.50 and toast (or crumpets or scones) was $ 3 extra. The quiche was $ 14.50, and while it was yummy, the portion I got was closer to $ 10 worth. Maybe all the fruit on the side was $ 4.50? I get that we are paying partially for ambiance but COME ON, Y’ALL.
And there are a lot of rules. A LOT. If you make a reservation, each person MUST order a full meal, even if some of those persons are small children who don’t eat much. At least Daddy got leftover lunch. My friend and I couldn’t just order a pot of tea to share; we each had to order a pot of tea that held about 5 cups worth. You better believe we sat there and drank every last drop! Apparently, if you don’t make a reservation, you could come on a first-​come first-​serve basis and order whatever you want, but good luck getting in without a reservation.
We might be back, but my bank account needs to recover first.

Pretty good tea, usually our go to, mostly because it is so close to home.
Always make sure that you have a reservation and we always ask to be seated away from the bathroom. We had one occasion were the bathroom must’ve been backed up and we haven’t forgotten it. That being said, there’s always a little bit of a musty smell – not sure why.
Great tea! They’ve got some really beautiful black teas (earl grey and queen’s royal afternoon) and some beautiful rooibos teas (hazelnut). They’ve got a wonderful selection of tea cups, everyone gets a different one every time! The scones here are light, fluffy and very yummy. You’ll be very happy just having a pot of tea and a scone, but we always have the high tea. The silver tea pots they have here are incredible! They have the most beautiful pour! One of these days, when I can afford the $ 200 price tag, I’m SO going to purchase one.
If you can, leave your purse at home, there’s not a lot of room. I also find it much nicer to spend time here during the week vs the weekends (less children!).

You too can feel like a queen when you stop by Queen Mary’s Tea Room in Ravenna. Just off of 55^th, this quaint tea room is the perfect mix of classic decadence and frilly fun.
I came with a group of four on a Saturday morning and found the tea room pleasantly packed with customers. It seems like drop-​ins are nearly impossible, however, so I’d highly recommend making a reservation (which can be done online and over the phone). The tea room appeared to be quite a hit with visitors of all ages — from the birthday party of young girls in their matching sun hats to the well-​dressed gentlewomen. :)
We all opted for the $ 35 three-​tiered afternoon tea:
–Sorbet starter — Is this a palate cleanser? The meal starts with a sweet serving of sorbet and a fun tea cookie :)
–Savory tier — Comes with scones, crumpets, sausage pastries and an assortment of other savory treats. My favorite was the mini quiche — so cute!
–Fruit tier — This tier comes with a generous serving of fruit, from apple slices and strawberries to blackberries and grapes. You can also find some brownies and a slice of tasty coffee cake — my favorite from this tier.
–Sandwich tier — Lastly, you have the sandwich tier that comes with an interesting selection of tea sandwiches. I thought that the open-​faced carrot sandwich was very unusual and the salmon spread to be almost TOO salmony. I would say this was my least favorite tier of the three.
Each order comes with its own pot of tea, and so our group went with the Coconut Baozhong, Queen Earl Gray, Cream Earl Gray and Darjeeling. The first five pages of the menu are all teas, so definitely reach out to the friendly staff for some recommendations!
Finally, it’s the service here that really makes you feel like royalty. From the moment you enter to the moment you leave, each staff member has a smile on their face and seems to genuinely want to make your experience the best. Our server came by often to check on our progress and bring hot water for our tea. My friend even got to wear a pretty tiara for her birthday while we were there! :)

The moment I walked into this place, I was in awe. All around the front of the place, were teas upon teas and the décor was very nice with a Victorian twist to it. Came here for a friend’s birthday lunch and it was quite a tasty treat. My friends and I ordered the formal afternoon tea set, each of us having the option to select our own tea.
For $ 35, you can order the afternoon tea set, which comes with a variety of pastries, fruits, and savory items. I will admit, the pastries were probably one of my favorite items off from the set. Fresh, soft, and warm, the pastries went well with the tea. I ordered the coconut oolong tea and it was delicious! Seriously, if you need a recommendation on what teas to select, just ask one of the wait staff and they would gladly help you out. It’s quite a hard decision to pick a tea when there’s over 50 different types. The savory dishes were alright, some of the items were a bit too salty and the fruits were the standard latter.
Overall, the atmosphere of the place is small and intimate and reservations to the place is highly recommended. Ample street parking and the place isn’t too difficult to find either. Excellent place to grab tea with friends/​family and if you really like the tea or silverware that’s used, I suggest checking out the tea store just down the street that sells the same things.

I came here to celebrate a friends birthday. We made a reservation, which by the way, requires you to order either a meal or afternoon tea. They had an amazing selection of tea, more teas than I had ever heard of and our waitress was really knowledgeable and helpful. I loved how they came around with shots of tea samples. There were definitely some flavors that I wouldn’t have ordered for myself, but really enjoyed tasting, such as the minty chocolate tea.
What I didn’t love was how small and tight the place was. There was so many cups and saucers and plates and tea pots and utensils… all squished onto a small table that you’re bound to knock something over (for me, it was the sugar). You’re pretty much jam packed in there in terms of seating too. Really not much space to maneuver with your neighbors chair right next to you.
My second qualm about this place was the food. My friends and I did afternoon tea (@ $ 35/​person), which is not worth it at all. You get some cookies, sandwiches that even I could have made (this is saying something), and some overly sweet pastries. Nothing was really delicate, as I would expect afternoon tea to be.
At the price I paid, I had higher expectations for what I received, but nevertheless, it’s always fun to play afternoon tea.

I first visited Queen Mary’s Tea Room when I was a little girl… I can’t remember exactly how old I was, but old enough to remember my great experience there! I finally went back again this past weekend for breakfast and it was soooo much fun!
They hand you their tea list and it is like a lengthy wine list in a fancy restaurant — there are PAGES of teas available and they all sound so good! I much prefer this list to a wine list, myself! I ended up choosing the Rose Petal Oolong, which was a delicious start to the meal. I love that you get your own individual pot of tea, so each person can choose the kind they like. They have timers on the table so you can properly brew the tea, as well as sugar. They can also bring you milk, if you like.
For breakfast, I had the Strawberry Brie Omelette. I chose it because it seemed like an odd combination of sweet and savory — and it was! But in a really good way. The flavors were perfect and I happily devoured the entire thing. The country potatoes that came with it were good, but they could have been cooked just a little bit longer as a few of them were a bit hard in the middle. You also get lots of fresh fruit, which makes for a nice balance. For dessert (yes, I had breakfast dessert — shush!), I had the Madagascar Vanilla Ice Cream, which was flavorful and yummy — and had those delicious ice crystals in it that I love so much.
Our waitress was super nice and sweet. The interior of the Tea Room has great décor and is really pretty! It is a pretty small room though, so it is a bit cramped. You’ll likely be saying a lot of «Excuse Me“s to get in and out of your chair! And the bathrooms are incredibly cramped, so leave your stuff at your table because there’s nowhere to put it if you’re trying to hit the restroom on the way out.
I will definitely be back! Next time I come, I’d like to do the Afternoon «High’ Tea. Seems like a lot of fun (and it is what I did on my first visit as a kid). Can’t wait!
