No Parking on Pike

Loved this little shop! Billy was so nice and gave us his advice on what to check out while we were in town, and his interesting little store had all kinds of weird and wonderful items for sale — including some rather disturbing taxidermied ducklings and loads of vintage sunglasses + hats. Wish I had room in my luggage to accommodate!

A hole in the wall full of fun and weird things, this place is great if you happen to be bored and in the neighborhood. The people who work there are helpful and friendly. If you’re into funky knickknacks to fill your abode, this is a must!

This vintage store is quite unique! There are all kinds of fun, old knick knacks to gaze at. The store has lots of real bats, spiders and bugs which are framed which is very interesting but a little creepy. There are lots of mounted ducklings all over the store as well. While those things are worth gazing at I had my fill of mounted animals at a very young age since everyone in Wyoming likes to hunt.
Some of that kind of merchandise is not my cup of tea at all but there is lots of other unique items that many people would find tempting despite the small space the business is in.

This cabinet of curiosities was my favorite stop while Christmas shopping a month back. The only problem was that I wanted to take home about ²⁄₃ of the merchandise for my own personal use rather than giving it to loved ones. Some appreciated gifts were indeed found (gorgeous sterling silver flask for $ 65), but mostly I am dying to go back and buy lovelies for myself.

No Parking is probably my very favorite store in all of Seattle! Filled with wonderful antique baubles and one-​of-​a-​kind doodads, this shop is a must stop if you’re in the Capitol Hill area.

You know that place where the pirates in Pirates of the Caribbean go to stash all of their booty? This is that place, but for people who like ukuleles, accordions, vintage cowboy boots, and owls. The proprietor, Billy, was quite helpful, and awfully kind. He has a collection of treasures here that most prop shops, art school kids, and cool creeps on Capitol Hill would die for. Highly recommend stopping in for a peek.

This place is great! It’s laid out really well so everything is easy to see and there’s no crazy wading through a bunch of crap. I love the lamp I got there and will definitely be back for more treasures!
The costume jewelery selection is awesome, too.

This place is weird… when i saw weird I mean totally awesome and kind of creepy. Yes they have some clothing but it’s a pretty limited selection. However if you need a shaving brush you’ve come to the right place. Some of the stuff is way way WAY over priced but it’s cap hill and where the hell else are you going to get pink flamingo glass swizzle sticks on the 23^rd of december?
Word to the wise though don’t stand directly in front of the radio… you will regret the deafening static that ensues. The owner is super super nice though :)

Coming from a place where the price on kitsch has yet to spike, I was a little taken back by pricing but I can only imagine his overhead there.
Stop in and sift through the floor to ceiling treasures!

This is a wonderful land of Oz in Seattle.
Once you have past through you will find yourself, if a native, home with many reminders of Seattle past and and eclectic evolution with beautiful objects to take home and then have a piece of Seattle.
«No Parking on Pike» owner, Billy Hutchinson collection is of value and with uncompromising quality. Your enthusiasm will come from knowing that you have bought something special even before entering.
The name of his store was a political chuckle for me, a native of Seattle.

accidentally walked by Billy’s shop. i couldn’t resist– ahh… pretty cool shit he’s got. wouldn’t mind stopping by the next time i roll through seattle to see what’s new!

A ‘first to review’ in the middle of the ‘Yelped to the gills’ neighborhood of Capital Hill? As Chris Griffin would say, ‘NO WAY.’
You know that vintage tiny shop on Pike, right down from the Comet?
Yeah, the one that’s got the great chairs and chests out in front on any given night?
It’s got a big glass window, showing off tons of great old electronics, apparel, and knick knacks? Ya know what I’m talking about?
No?
Yeah, figured as much. If you did, you would have written about it already. you know, snagged that ‘first to review’ like I’m doing right this very moment. Oh, the satisfaction.
We were up on the hill the other night, having a good time, doin’ our thing, which apparently included finding some some roller skates and pearl snap shirt (?). Yes, I’m serious. We wandered into this little place, and lo and behold, it was packed with more kitschiness than the Betty Crocker Cookbook! An ample array of eclectic clocks, mirrors, lamps, clothing, purses, books, accessories, records, vintage record players, and yes, skates, that sated our need for all things old timey.
Billy, who owns the shop, was polite and happy to have Denice try on a great pair of skates and skate around the store (like a rockstar) for a moment. I know what someone wants for Christmas this year!
Cool spot for when you’re looking for something a vintage or a place to do a little post– booze browsing on the hill. Oh, and if you go the beer route, probably best to leave the skates be. The last thing we all need is you tipsy, flying down the hill in a pair of dated skates…
