Pretty Parlor

Absolutely my go-​to for adorable apparel! I hate shopping, but I always have a good experience here. Parking can be a little rugged at times due to location, so keep that in mind when you visit. It’s a very vibrant and aesthetically pleasing shop, so definitely a worthwhile visit for locals and visitors alike. The staff is incredibly cordial and kind. Although prices may be just a tad higher than at your average department store, they only sell quality and designer apparel, so everything you get is long lasting and maintains shape. Furthermore, I’m always shocked at how much I DONT spend compared to how much I walk away with; there really is a value to shopping here in the long run. They also have a wonderful selection of locally made clothing and accessories. I tend to receive a bit of a «stuck up» vibe in places like this, which kept me away for many years, but there is nothing Mean Girl about Pretty Parlor. I have always felt welcomed and valued as a customer, which is rare these days.

Bought 2 jackets and 2 shirts all fabulous 1960’s items. Clean, musty-​free and beautifully presented. The owner is a sweetheart. Put this top of your list for vintage togs!

Pretty Parlor and Anna Banana make shopping for dresses and accessories so much fun. I love buying gifts even more than I like making a purchase for myself and this summer we found the perfect dress for my friend, who loved the surprise! I can’t wait to shop for my next special occasion outfit at Pretty Parlor.

Pretty Parlor is girly heaven. I loved the original Greenwood store, but the move to this fantastic space on Cap Hill makes a lot of sense.
The owner was really on the cusp of the craft revolution. I love that she supports local artisans & has fun creations to round out her excellent selection of vintage — & vintage inspired — pieces.
Prices are very reasonable here. If you find a piece you love, you can often get out for less than 50 bucks, which is getting harder to do these days.
Definitely worth a stop if you’re on the Hill!

Cute place with a lot of unique items. I think their accessories are the best part. There were a few really cute flapper dresses that I would have loved to try. I would definitely like to spend time there trying some things on. I didn’t try much on since the prices are a little high for me especially when some of the items are things that I probably wouldn’t find many occasions to wear them on after purchasing.
It’s worth stopping by.

Pretty Parlor is the perfect place for all your vintage clothing needs. There are too many stores content to call themselves ‘vintage’, but all they supply are monstrosities from the 80s with World of Warcraft shoulder pads. There is nothing but beauty in this store and it is manicured to perfection by Anna Banana and her troupe of beauties. And I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write a review for one of my favorite shops in Seattle.
The whole store reminds me of a cupcake, particularly from the puffy petticoats hanging from the ceiling. Window displays are always done up in beautiful styles and I came dangerously close to leaving with a black velvet opera coat that had been on the main mannequin. Pretty Parlor mainly stocks styles from the mid-​20^th century, but she keeps an eye out for recent styles that fit the aesthetic of the shop. If you’re bored of beige, there is nothing but color in here, although any beige that does pass inspection looks impeccable.
While women’s fashion is the primary focus, there is an excellent selection of men’s clothing, hats and accessories when first entering the store. Some items are seasonal, particularly the large sun hats. In my first visit to Pretty Parlor, a huge black Auntie Mame hat with an enormous bow (very Ghibli witch) caught my eye and I knew I’d found some place special, but I wasn’t able to bring it back on the plane. Fortunately the hat was available the following spring when I was a resident and it’s now a permanent part of my collection, along with a few dresses and essential accessories. I still need to return for another hat.
Anna not only offers incredible service and curates the best vintage clothing store in Seattle, she’s also ambitious in expanding her business, recently opening a bridal boutique in an adjacent space. Patrolling the shop are the shy but sweet Lucy dog and the famous kitty cat, Vincent, who has recovered well from a random dog attack last year, which brought an outpouring of love and support. The store is also requested to be fragrant free due to allergies.
Anna rightfully has an enormous following of friends and fans who are proud to shop at this wonderful Seattle small business. I hope that in spite of the changes coming to Capitol Hill, the Pretty Parlor stays a permanent fixture in this wonderful city.

The clothing was beautiful and I was going to purchase something, however, the reason I didn’t was because the service was complete shit.
My friend and I went there just looking around for dresses and I found some that I really liked. The lady wouldn’t stop questioning me about where I was going to wear the dress to. Like if I didn’t have an answer she wouldn’t let me try it on, let alone purchase it. I don’t necessarily buy a dress having a specific place to where it to. I enjoy collecting them and I’m sure eventually I would have a place to wear it to. Then she kept saying how this was a certain size, saying how basically it wouldn’t fit me. How unbelievably rude! I really liked the dresses and wanted to try them on and she took a couple of the dresses I picked out and put them back on the rack without asking me. I am not going to buy something without trying it on first. So I only got to try on one dress and it was the one I wanted most. I was going to purchase it, but, the reason I didn’t was because the lady was a complete bitch to my friend and I. Needless to say, I won’t be returning to that store.

Great little vintage boutique. Top quality — garments are clean and many look in like new condition. I came here to find an 80s glam outfit for a party, and found what I was looking for. However, this is not an 80s glam kind of place — there is a wide variety of 40s, 50s, and 60s styles, both vintage and new. I could have spent hours just marveling at what nice condition everything was in, and the resident cat and dog were charming as well. The gal behind the counter was extremely helpful in finding what would work for me. I don’t have a lot of need for vintage clothing, but I’d definitely recommend.

OMG. How have I lived in Seattle for ten years and not discovered this place? Best. Store. Ever.
I went looking for a 1920s dress as a Valentine’s Day gift for my wife, and didn’t really think anywhere in Seattle would have anything that really worked. Wow, wrong. They had some stunning dresses, and I walked out with the best. Anna and Inga made shopping great fun and were super-​helpful, and overall the selection of clothing there was wonderful.
It’s the sort of place you go to not just to shop but to put you in a happy mood. I can see we’ll be doing some serious financial damage there in the future.

Anna is awesome! I had an appointment at the bridal shop and she was so sweet from the moment my friend and I walked in. I’m not a girly girl so the thought of trying on wedding dresses was never that thrilling to me. But Anna made it so much fun! She was so helpful! She picked out 5 or 6 dresses for me to try on and they were all beautiful. And she really knows her stuff! She helped me accessorize with headpieces and parasols and gloves etc. It was a blast! And I am absolutely in love with one of the dresses I tried on. It fit me perfectly, and I am an xs, so she does have dresses for all different body types. Anna said I should sleep on it and if I can’t stop thinking about the dress then that’s when I know it is the one. She even gave me names of a couple other vintage bridal boutiques in Seattle. I get the feeling that she really wants you to get something you absolutely love.
The non-​bridal part of her store is super cute! She has both vintage and local designers clothing for sale. And the wigs are awesome! In fact I am going back today to get the green one for the Seahawks game :)
I love this place and I love supporting people like Anna.

Buying stuff from Pretty Parlor was how I learned I am allergic to cats :(Vinnie is very cute but sadly, not worth the break out. I understand that shop cats are a «thing,» and maybe it’s partly my fault for buying a vintage coat that «can’t» be cleaned according to the owner.
I do have a cute white clutch that I got in their sale bin for $ 5.

This is such an adorable little vintage store! It is decorated so cute!
Most of the clothing is geared for women but there is a very nice section of men’s clothing that is unique and seems to be of top quality! I found an adorable 60’s flavored shirt that I was very tempted to buy but managed to resist.
Steve was entranced by the fedoras that they had for sale and suit jackets.
This little store is what Capitol Hill is all about which is fun, quirky and unique!
It’s a definitely different kind of thrift store, minus all of the mustiness that you come across in so many others!

This shop is a dream-​come-​true for vintage clothing lovers. It has a unique mix of vintage pieces and original items by local artists and designers, and I think the prices are great.
They have everyday «casual» wear, plus a party section and a new bridal shop. And I can always find something for my man in «Man Land», be it a new jacket, sports coat, shirt or rhinestone embellished tie.
I love the accessories there, from the rings to the glittery necklaces and bracelets.
Once, I bought a pantsuit there and it didn’t fit right, so the altered it for me and made the waistband with a little elastic so it fits me any time of the month (wink!).
The owner always makes me feel welcome and I run into the coolest people there! Every time I stop by, there’s some colorful character or local weirdo (in the nicest way) hanging out, shopping or shooting the breeze.
I love going there and will continue to shop there when ever I have the need for one more fabulous outfit.

I came in here a year ago and met Anna. Her store is gorgeous and so was she. Upon my return to Seattle I was eager to take a friend here to shop. Anna wasn’t there but another woman who I made the horrible mistake of asking if she was Anna’s mom was. She spent the next 10 minutes making me feel awful for asking her that, she kept rubbing her tits asking me if this looks like Anna’s mom. Meanwhile a crazy cackling old man who was there hanging out with a cat was laughing he was amused! I was now their entertainment!
I finally realized I offended her so I asked and she said yes so I apologized and said I met no harm. She would not let it go and continued to be a total weird insecure old lady. I have never been made to feel so bad. I will never stop in again or mention it to a friend. I will walk past your shop and head to red light.
As for that nasty mean old woman working in your store that is not your mom, shame on you lady that is not how women should ever treat each other. You were awful! And get those cackling old men to move on!!!

I loved the store and the sales staff were excellent. Not only did she educate me on the 50’s but helped me to find things I could use without having to buy a whole new dress! Thanks :)

If you want pretty, original, and fun clothing you should visit this store.
The first thing I noticed was the beautiful cat sunning herself on a chair by the door. It reminded me of those girly bedrooms you see in home decorating magazines. There was also a sweet, shy dog that walked around the store but kept out of shopper’s way.
I stopped by to try and find a unique wedding dress. I had to pull myself away from the racks of great clothing and the case of funky jewelry more than once. I found a couple of dresses that I thought looked nice and could pass as wedding dresses, including one that looked like it was made in the 1940s.
Then…my friend walked into their bridal salon. It’s normally closed on Sundays but my friend pleaded to let us look – my wedding was less than a month away. Anna and Natasha were kind enough to let us browse and try on dresses. I chose the first dress I saw. It was a perfect cream colored, tea-​length dress with off-​the-​shoulder straps and gorgeous beadwork on the waist and the top/​ends of the straps.
Anna suggested adding crinoline under the skirt and pow! I had a stellar wedding dress. They didn’t have the right color of crinoline in stock so they ordered it for me to pick up later in the week.
Pretty Parlor has a small but nice selection of shoes so I was able to try the dress on with a pair of classic satin pumps and see what it would look like on my wedding day.
I’ll be back sometime post-​wedding to spend more time checking out their dresses and jewelry. This shop is definitely on my ‘recommend to friends’ list.

Love the owner (hi Anna Banana!), love the décor, love the clothing and accessories you forgot even existed, but are fashion must-​haves: cameo brooches, garter belts, flapper-​style head accessories, 1960s bloomers, My Little Pony hair clips, ornate hosiery.
The store is meticulously and beautifully curated – the clothing is in top-​notch condition with every piece being a rare gem in a city that has a lot of vintage finds to offer. Go to Pretty Parlor if you want a really special article of clothing either for everyday outfitting or an off-​the-​beaten path wedding dress. (I was there when a beautiful bride-​to-​be was trying on dresses for her wedding). Expect to pay a little more for your vintage piece, but the quality, selection, and customer service are all worth the price.

The lady with the awesome hat helped me pick out a present for my daughter the other day. I would like to thank her for her great service. I am a man that has a hard time picking out «girl» things and she nailed it. Pretty Parlor you rock.

My friend and I stopped by around 4:30p on a Friday. My friend is a frequent shopper so she recommended we take a look. I had a wonderful time looking at all of the cute clothes and vintage treasures. My friend and I had a 45-​minute conversation with a store employee named Natasha, who was busy steaming a customer’s prom dress in the back of the store. We shared some cool stories and talked about fashion. It was a pleasant surprise!
I also liked hanging out with the cat and dog named Lucy. It felt very homey and welcoming into the store. I loved the French music playing in the background. The atmosphere transported me to somewhere far away! When I have some more money, I hope to buy a summer dress there.

A really great selection of mostly women’s vintage clothing and accessories, but a little men’s. For the men’s stuff, I was most impressed with the ties. Unfortunately, I can rarely find vintage men’s clothing that fits me.
The women’s selection looked really impressive, particularly with the dresses and shoes. There were also some new vegan wallets that had cute animals on them.
But the best part (to me) was the striped cat hanging out and following my girlfriend and I around the store. He was adorable.
