If you live on the Eastside but work in Seattle, you can hit J.P.‘s place on your way to jump on I-​90 on the Seattle side. So, in every way, My Mac Hero is more convenient than going to the Apple Store, too!

My Mac Hero is truly amazing! I dropped my camera on top of my MacBook Pro and it cracked the screen. It was going to be ~550 at the Apple store and a few other stores. J.P. was able to fix it for 350 and was super quick and also had some suggestions for me on how to improve the efficiency of my computer. I will recommend him to anyone! He is not only good at what he does, but also a really nice guy. Don’t waste your time looking elsewhere.

Anyone who has taken their machine to an Apple Genius know the answer to the first question is: Way too much. The answers to the other two are: FUCK NO.

After reading the reviews, I sent in my MacBook Air due to water damage. I was told that my laptop is unrepairable 2 days later. When I picked up my laptop, I was charged $ 50 + tax. I didn’t know that it’s not free for the diagnosis. After talking with J.P., he refunded me. I appreciate the understanding. Also, it is nice to learn more details about the damaged parts despite the frustrating news.

Took two Mac Pros here for booting problem, and bad hard drive. In both occasions JP was able to fix it in a day. Very knowledgeable, easy communication, and transaction. Definitely the Mac Hero in town :)

My three year old son spilled water all over my wife’s Macbook Pro, and it wouldn’t turn on. Fearing the worst, I opened it up but couldn’t spot water corrosion. Decided to take it to My Mac Hero down the street and they were quick to diagnose a broken keyboard and replaced it in approximately 2 days for a very reasonable cost.
Customer support and service was excellent and the Macbook operates perfectly now! Great experience and will take all future broken Apple products — hopefully few, if any — there!

My Mac Hero is a great way to get your computer fix. Full disclosure: I AM NOT A COMPUTER GEEK. I know how to start up, shut down, and do some basic computing.
So when I lost all of my data, I freaked! I don’t know how to recover data! I heard from a friend about My Mac Hero and he gave MMH high recommendations. I’m glad he did because MMH recovered all of my data.
I imagine that there are others out there who could have recovered my data but what I think separates MMH from the rest is his customer service. Man, JP and Karen know how to take care of TFP — Technologically Fragile Psyche. They took my call, said what he thought he could do, and answered every obsessive question I had with great care and patience. I didn’t feel rushed and didn’t feel like I had to fight constant up-​selling. And then they did a great job recovering my data!
You know, in this type of business as with a mechanic or a car salesperson, you want people you can trust and feel like you’re not getting the short end of the stick, especially when you’re not a tech geek like me.

I was in need for a quick Mac repair as my baby, MacBook Pro 2011 was having some screen issues. I set up an appointment with the mac’s Genius Bar, but they said it’ll take a few days for them to be available.
I searched around for more places and contacted this place. They texted me about my issue and asked me questions about my problems. They’ve narrow down the issue in minutes and found out that I had graphic card issues which can be pretty expensive. They were honest about the cost and wouldn’t recommend me to fix it since it’s not a permanent fix. Thank you guys for being honest, linking me up with the petition and for saving me a few trips to the Genius Bar.

Being somewhat new to the area, I relied on Unilocal to help me find a good Mac computer service shop. The reviews for My Mac Hero seemed a bit too good to be true but I decided to use it despite that there were other shops quite a bit closer to home. Well, I’m pleased to say that the reviews were spot on. Good work and honest service at a reasonable price — what more could you ask for?. This shop is now truly «My Mac Hero» and will be my go to expert for anything Mac. I highly recommend this Mac repair shop.

The Mac Store quoted me $ 1250 for something that J.P. fixed for $ 250. Fair prices, friendly, knowledgeable, fast, accommodating & understanding. AND he fixed it over a holiday weekend to boot. They are my Mac Heros!

I can’t say enough great things about my experience working with JP and his wife Keren! I found them through their fantastic Unilocal reviews and am paying it forward with a review of my own.
A story as old as time, I spilled hard cider (just like Samantha H., another reviewer here) on my MacBook Pro keyboard. I originally brought it to another small business where I live locally (The Tranquil Computer in Langley, Wa) and after being charged $ 75 for an assessment, they told me my computer repair was «complicated» and they would not be able to service it. Their suggesting was that I take it to an authorized Apple Repair center but that even then, the damage could be significant and beyond repair.
I searched Unilocal and found MyMacHero, and yep, they are definitely my hero!
I contacted them and within a short time had coordinated dropping it off and having it evaluated. Within 24 hours I heard back that only the keyboard needed replacing and the quoted price, $ 274, was ½ the price the other repair shop said it would be to replace the keyboard. Very, very reasonable — we were so relieved.
JP also suggested that I upgrade my memory and that he would do so for, wait for it.. .a reasonable price!
We were able to pick it up the next afternoon!
All in all, from beginning to end, the experience working with MyMacHero was 5-​star superb. It’s not often you get courteous, professional service with a knowledgeable company that appreciates your business! I’ve had my laptop back now for a couple of weeks and it’s running tip-​top.

JP is definitely my Mac hero. I knocked an entire bottle of water over my open laptop at school yesterday, and JP was able to fix everything and have it back in my hands a few hours later for a very reasonable price. Doesn’t get any better than that.

My 2006 Macbook was done (logic board toast) and I needed to recover the hard drive. JP quoted me at 150 plus tax. Even though I agreed to that amount, he knocked it down to 100 plus tax because I told him the wrong model and extracting the hard drive from my Macbook was much easier than from the model I believed it to be. Who goes so above and beyond in customer service like this these days?
JP was super nice, fast to reply to emails, and successfully recovered my hard drive — even giving me a neatly boxed up hard drive enclosure and USB extension in the deal. Amazing guy and service.

I spilled water on my Mackbook Air. When I brought it to the Apple store, they quoted me a repair of $ 750 and didn’t guarantee it would be fixed. Worse yet, my Macbook Air actually powered on and worked prior to bring it into the apple store, but would not even turn on after I left!
I searched on Unilocal — found My Mac Hero — and he informed me that he may be able to repair the laptop for much less. As luck would have it, My Mac Hero determined he could fix the damages for 60% less than what the Apple store was going charge me! On top of that, he was very responsive to all communication and was able to adapt to my schedule (I work late).

Thanks to JP (My Mac Hero) my macbook pro was saved last year after my friend had tipped over a vase and knocked water all over my laptop. After researching all over the internet for the best option I found My Mac Hero and boy, was that a good decision. Being a college student, there was no way I would be able to afford bringing it into Apple because they charge more than a hundred dollars just to LOOK at the laptop.
I sent a few phone calls and talked to both Karen and JP and had an appointment set accordingly. After I had dropped off my laptop for JP to look at he had determined that my battery was corrupted and he had given the whole laptop a thorough cleanup. He gave me two options after he opened up the laptop and determined the problem: 1) to replace the battery which was pretty expensive or 2) keep it hardwired to a charger at all times to keep it alive. I of course chose the second option and after this my laptop worked perfectly fine until a week when suddenly my battery revived and I was no longer in need of keeping it hardwired to the charger! What a miracle!
Recently this week when I tried to update my MBP to the Mavericks OS and my disk locked because some files were corrupted. I quickly sent JP an email and a picture about the problem and set up an appointment within a day. The funny part was that I called JP, Jason a few times but he only laughed it off and reminded me that his name was JP. When I brought the laptop to JP he told me all about the problems and advised me to how to avoid the file corruption in the future. He quickly fire-​wired his laptop to mine and fixed the hard drive issue within 15 minutes. I went home and updated my laptop and now it’s working great! JP is very knowledgeable with his technology so I never doubted his ability and got my problems fixed! All in all I wouldn’t even hesitate to call My Mac Hero if I had another problem because JP is THAT good.
TL;DR: My Mac Hero saved my laptop twice. Bring your broken apple products to My Mac Hero and he will save it or give you the most reasonable advice for the best price.

Computer repair makes me super nervous. The weird buildings — either an all-​white futuristic hellscape with creepy German techno rattling the walls or some dank, dusty warehouse full of cords and a thousand old monitors and nerds. Nerds everywhere. They all know what they’re doing, and they know you don’t, and this is when they exact their sweet revenge.
Guess what? JP and Keren are not mean, terrifying nerds. They are actually super nice people with a really great business who do fantastic work.
I have two laptops. One, my original MacBook, is about seven hundred years old. I was still somehow using it, but it had started whining and acting weird and loud and shutting down randomly, so I stopped using it for awhile. A friend was nice enough to give me her old MacBook, which was perfect other than having a missing «E» key. I used it for awhile without the E, pressing down on the little rubber thing where the key should be until it got too weird. I made an appointment at another Mac repair place but after reading the reviews and hearing from them that it’d cost at least $ 50 just to look at it and would probably require a new keyboard, I looked around on Unilocal and switched my appointment to MMH.
I emailed them and got a very fast response from JP. He asked the right questions and then suggested I work with Keren for scheduling, which I did. I left a VM and she called me right back and we set up a time for a new key installation. I found their house easily (it’s right near the entrance to the 90 on Rainier) and dropped it off with no issues.
It was such a cheap fix and was done so fast, I decided to take in my other computer for diagnosis. Unfortunately, the prognosis wasn’t great, but he gave me some options and didn’t even charge me for the exam. I left it there for a week and had to keep pushing back my appointments to come pick it up because I was sick; they were super understanding and never made me feel bad about it.
I’m about to take my computer in for an upgraded HD and RAM. I know they’ll take great care of it and it will be better than new when I finally get it home.

I’m pretty techie and I can usually figure out my own computer issues, but I had one that I couldn’t diagnose and fix, so I needed some more expert help. I was having some serious crashing issues with my year old MBP and spent hours /​days trying to fix it but to no avail.
Anyways I I set up a time to drop off my computer with MyMacHero (aka JP and Karen), JP diagnosed it, and bam it was fixed. Really nice people, fast turnaround, and reasonably priced, what more could you ask for?

JP’s running a quality operation here. I had a 4 y/​o MBP that we spilled tea on. After a week of drying it out, it wasn’t acting right. I hunted around for a good tech and found the reviews here. I live in Olympia, and opted to bring it to JP in Seattle.
JP & Karen were really great to deal with. Got back to me over phone/​email quickly. Very professional and personable. I contacted them with a description of the issue (liquid damage), they provided a quote and accurate turnaround time.
JP spent some time with my computer, and diagnosed a corroded logic board. This is basically the worst case scenario with spill damage. He provided me with options going forward, and was very helpful. At the same time, my car broke down (this was a very unlucky week), and I had to coordinate with them to get a ride up to Seattle, or have a friend pick it up. They were very patient with me.
I ultimately opted to replace the machine instead of spend $ 650 on a 4 yr. old machine. He offered to waive the diagnostic and pay me for the rest of the parts. He also loaded all my data and gave me a hard drive to take to the store to restore all my information. He also offered troubleshooting on the data transfer.
Though was computer couldn’t be salvaged, he really provided top-​notch service. If anything happens with this new machine, I’d absolutely bring it to him. He’s definitely someone I can trust.
