John answered on the first ring and two days later did a great job cleaning up a rental property yard. Liked it so much we had him do our yard as well and we’ll be bringing them back next fall. John and his crew went well beyond our expectations. John is casual, fast and the work is very reasonably priced.

We recently had a pine tree taken down at our house and were planning on having it hauled away. After finding Low Rate Hauling Yard Clean Up & Demolition on Unilocal and seeing mostly positive reviews, I decided to give them a call. I called on a Sunday evening and spoke to John who immediately answered and asked me to text him a picture of the tree stumps. John also asked if I had already gotten other quotes; I told him that I was waiting to hear back from the other companies and did not have another quote yet.
After sending him a picture of the tree stumps, John called back and stated that it would cost $ 400. I thanked him and told him that I would need to speak to my wife first. After speaking with my wife, we decided that we should wait until the next morning to hear back from the other companies before we confirmed with John, because we weren’t quite sure if we were getting a fair deal yet. There is nothing wrong with shopping around.
I texted John and asked if it was okay for me to contact him the next morning, because I wanted to compare quotes to which he replied: «I will pass I don’t do bid wars I stay busy. Good luck»
If you are running a business, please don’t be disrespectful to potential customers. If I hadn’t heard back from the other companies by the next day, we would have paid the $ 400 and been fine with it since you were the first to answer and give us a quote.
Anyway, we were able to find a company that quoted us at $ 300 and was very professional throughout the whole process. Additionally, another company emailed me the next day and quoted me lower than $ 400 as well. Seems like John knew he was ripping me off that’s why he got upset. Good customer service goes a long way and most people, like me, will even pay more for it.

Received a guarantee that the backyard would be a full area of grass. The guarantee was apparently good… until it wasn’t. Reached out several times that areas were not growing, and was told I needed to water more. Bought a sprinkler system, watered 2x a day, and still not a full yard of grass. Eventually my calls and texts were ignored. I’ve had to buy my own grass seed/​mulch and have spent a significant amount of time addressing issues they should have handled.
The dirt patch they cleared out was supposed to be an area for gardening but is now full of weeds, even though they told me all of the weeds were dug up.
For the grass and gardening bed, I am extremely disappointed.
They did do a good job at the hauling portion and in taking the trees/​shrubs out, so leaving this at 3 stars.

I have a huge yard with some volunteer trees, blackberries, overgrown shrubs and weeds. John responded quickly to give me a quote. As I described what I wanted, I included removal of volunteers, including blackberry starts throughout the property. John said that he saw what I needed. The quote was high, but I thought it would be worth it to get it all done and not have to worry about it. The next day John came with two others and in the span of two days worked about 8 – 10 hours. What was done was done very well. At the end of the second day I reminded him of a volunteer Bay Laurel that he had not removed. He trimmed it a bit and moved on, ignoring me. It is clear that John sized up a job by how many hours he would put in, and because he reached that limit, he left. Now I have to hire again to finish the work. I feel that I paid attorney fees for yard work…

These guys worked so hard! We phoned on a Thursday and not only did John answer and they arrived that very afternoon, they accomplished work it would have taken us days to achieve solo and would have required equipment rental. Fortunately, John and his crew were over prepared. We thought we had a straightforward task: we needed to clear several inches of dirt from an area in our yard we had a tree removed from in order to lay sod. Well in the process we quickly and continuously came across remaining tree roots, which these guys sawed and hacked out — above and beyond the terms of our work bid — and cleared the dirt and hauled it away. When our lawn service said it would take them weeks to get sod down if they had to do that labor, Low Rate Hauling Yard Clean Up & Demolition saved the day!

Called John to get some much needed yard clean up done. Set up some time within the week and his crew came on the agreed upon day and went to work. Couple of hours later, they were done and now our yard is not the eye sore on the block. Pricing was fair/​reasonable and will use them again for future yard projects.

I was referred to John by a family member and reached out. He came over the next evening to give an estimate and finished the job twelve hours after that. He was extremely efficient, did a good job, and was reasonably priced.

First got back to me, then asked for address. Didn’t get back to me after that for an on-​site estimate. When I called back, said he was too busy.

I called gave this company a call and left a message. Very quickly John called me back and we discussed my project: break-​up and removal of a concrete hot tub foundation and removal of several small trees, bushes and vines from our backyard. He came by the same day and provided a very fair estimate for the work. He was ready to go, but I wanted to double check with my wife about the specific plants we were going to remove. John was gracious and agreed to return once we had made up our minds.
John came out and his crew did an excellent job. We even decided to tack-​on a few extra tasks which John’s crew took care of an were priced fairly into the final cost. I really enjoyed working with John and would recommend him to others.

My yard hadn’t been touched in nearly a year and was seriously overgrown and needed an overhaul of mowing, weed eating, and trimming. John responded to my call immediately and his team came in and handled the whole yard quickly and professionally for a good rate. I would recommend him.

John was great. I would definitely use him again. On time, on task and a good guy.

John and his crew came by the same afternoon and took care of fallen trees in our driveway in very short order leaving it in better condition than before for a very reasonable price. I’m very pleased with their work.

Unfortunately, I don’t have any before or after pics. I had sent in a friend into the thicket to take some photos of the overgrowth to be cleared but I haven’t seen them since.
This is my second time using them. The first time was for junk removal and they did such a great job at that, they were our first choice for the yardwork.
Our house is below street level so climbing around the shrubbery on the incline is challenging. I once saw a squirrel just straight up give up and use our stairs. John had 2 other workers with him and they made short work of ivy, small trees, bushes etc. They hauled away everything after too.
They’re super-​quick to respond to inquiries too. Super impressed with the follow-​up. The price was extremely reasonable on both services I have used with them.
Make these guys your first choice! We’re glad we did.

John came out right away,(he happened to be not far away) and hauled my stuff away for a fair price. I’d use him again.

This guy is absolutely amazing! Got back to us in hours with a quote. When he got here the concrete proved to be ridiculous (8″ deep-​with wire reinforcement). He made a minor readjustment to the bid that was VERY reasonable. They started at 9 and got done at 6, this was back breaking work. He even had some great ideas about filling the holes, replacing the grass and diverting the water! I’m seriously impressed, this was quite a feat. We’ll definitely be using him for future projects. You can’t waste your time getting quotes, or you can have John come do it.

Great service! John showed up a few hours after I called and within 20 minutes a pile of rubbish was cleared and my garage had space for a car! Will certainly be giving him a call again for the next job.

John came out next day when I called. Be ready… he’s ready to go to work. He didn’t agree with the idea I had to address a landscaping problem, and I am always happy to hear the whys, etc. Basically, I wanted to remove the landscaping fabric, pull dirt back from the fence, and then add mulch. John showed how the fence was incorrectly installed and suggested it would be easier to cut the fence than remove the amount of soil I was talking about to address the issue. The issue is the fence is built right into the dirt, and will eventually have issues with rot. Ah, the joys of moving into a new house. But, John kindly suggested a less expensive solution.
He added 4 yards of mulch to the yard, and it looks much better. Will try to fix the fence issue later, but I have a better sense of the problem. John also removed 4 small trees for me last minute. Much appreciated. Will call him again.

We needed quite a bit of yard work and hauling done, so we called these folks again after our previous great experience. As always, John and his team was amazing; they arrived early, went above and beyond the work we asked for (without charging extra), and offered great suggestions for maintenance/​upkeep that would save us money in the future. Their work is high quality and a great value for what is charged. Love this company, will absolutely hire them again!

On a personal note, I think it’s awful that anyone would change their previous 5 star rating to a 1 star because they heard third hand that a company did something wrong… especially without bothering to get more detail on the situation. This is someone’s business/​livelihood you’re messing with based on rumor. I personally chose to take time to look into it, and completely understand why the dumping incident mentioned in recent reviews took place. There is more than one side to any story, and this one makes a lot more sense when you hear further details.
I’d also like to point out to anyone viewing this business review page for the first time that this company has solid 4 and 5 star ratings for the last five years with zero mention of illegal dumping activity (or really any bad behavior at all barring a guy who thought he was being overcharged once), so it’s definitely food for thought when making a decision regarding hiring these folks based on a recent review that was obviously written by a pissed off neighbor.

John is fast, efficient, and brings a can-​do attitude! He showed up on time (10 am on a Saturday morning, which we agreed to on Thursday), and I showed him the yard clean up I’d been meaning to do for years but never got around to. He quoted me $ 200 to do some general clean up (bush trimming, grapevine control, weed removal, some random junk hauling from the front yard and side of the house). I took his first offer of $ 200 and didn’t negotiate but after reflecting on it, I definitely think I could have negotiated and he’d have been open to it. That’s on me — I should have tried to haggle!
He brought a big white truck and all the equipment and tools he needed for the job, and when I saw him working (cutting a bush down with a chainsaw), I realized calling him was the right decision as I could not have accomplished what he did on my own.
I’m really happy with my yard now and it looks much better and cleaner. It took maybe an hour, and he worked alone. It was wet/​gray and the yard was damp with a light drizzle that morning and he did not complain and was happy to do the job, rain or shine. Love that work ethic!
He even had some recommendations for fixing the old split wood of my front porch and house painting, which I appreciated. Thanks John!
