K9 Fun Zone is a warehouse where you can safely exercise, mentally challenge, and train your dog (s) with the place all to yourself or you’re welcome to invite your friend’s dogs to your appointment. Play times and training sessions are by appointment only and can easily be scheduled 24⁄7 through our website. If you are new to the FZ, an assistant will be available to help you with equipment orientation if you wish to use the fun agility equipment. Many basic problem canine behaviors can be better managed and solved through exercising and mentally stimulating your dog… K9 Fun Zone helps with all of this! We have FUN-​gility equipment and obstacles to help build confidence, exercise, and tire out your dog. The agility equipment is free to use during your reserved «Play & Exercise Time Slot» but can also be moved to open the space up for ball fetching. We also offer private training lessons, classes, small dog social hours, puppy play group, breed meetups, and birthday parties.

History

Established in 2011.

K9 Fun Zone’s «Play & Exercise Time Slots» were specifically created for dogs that don’t do well around other dogs, and for owners who aren’t comfortable taking their dog to an outdoor dog park. Of course we also love those dog-​loving dogs too! K9 Fun Zone is a perfect place to come tire out your dog on a rainy day or at night after work.

Business Owner

Lindy is ready to explain, demonstrate, and modify your dog’s problem behaviors using her knowledge in animal behavior. She has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Animal Behavior and is certified in Canine Studies through the Northwest School of Canine Studies. Her past experiences in training marine animals has helped her develop creative training techniques for our canine companions.

As an urban apartment dweller it can be difficult to get enough exercise for your reactive dog. Even if you can get a good walk in, it’s not the kind of free-​romp that every dog needs.
But K9 Fun Zone is the place where your dog can be free and your guard can be down to just have fun with your dog (s). If you want to do casual or serious agility practice, they have all the right equipment; or push it aside and do whatever amuses your dog instead.
And the staff here is awesome. Lindy seems to have as much fun with the dogs as you do!
I can’t say enough about how awesome the experience is with K9 Fun Zone. The only downside is that the slots fill up fast, so schedule ahead!

What a wonderful place! I took my chihuahua mix there for the first time today and we had a wonderful time! Lindy, the owner, was active the entire time with us, training us how to use the Fungility equipment, guiding us in using what we had learned, and then throwing mini tennis balls for my dog to chase; she also provided lots of treats for both of us to use which my dog loved! We’re definitely going back; it was a GREAT experience!

What a wonderful place for your dogs! We scheduled 55 minutes of play time for 3 dogs and it was so much fun for both dogs and owners! You get the entire space for yourself for your designated time and the owner helped us navigate each equipment and the best way to teach your dog to use them. The nice thing was, she was with us the entire session helping with our dogs. She’s super friendly and you can easily tell that she loves dogs.
I wanted to check this place out to try out agility equipment in more of a fun atmosphere. There were various agility equipment set up as well as different toys to piqué each individual dog’s interest. The floors are rubber so there’s no slippage. The agility equipment such as the dog walk and A-​frames had special traction on them so dogs can safely use them.
I wanted to give my dogs a different activity that would give them a mental challenge as well as a physical one. Everyone was tired by the end of the session!
The on-​line booking system was very easy to use and you receive a confirmation e-​mail as well as a reminder about your appointment time. I also loved that the building is secure and nobody can enter during your appointment slot.
We will go back again!

This is a great place for dogs to be able to run and play off-​leash, in a safe environment. Our 2 Doxies have been twice, and really enjoy playing, running, and learning to use the agility equipment.
They get to play freely without the stress of other large dogs at the dog park. They are usually too stressed in other off leash dog areas to enjoy themselves. From here, they come home tired and happy!
Little things like the procedures in place to make sure your dog is secure inside, and the option to use treats, toys, and fresh water are also nice.
We enjoy booking online. Only issue is that there do not seem to be many appointments available. Likely because this is popular, and affordable. It would be nice to be able set a recurring time.

I scheduled playtime for a small group of dogs (mine + friend’s) at K-​9 and all the dogs had a great time! The facility is spacious, and Lindy took care of all the details. She even had agility equipment and toys that worked for our small dogs. This is a great place to to go to stimulate and exercise your dog, especially during the rainy months.

I stumbled across K9 Fun Zone last year when I was walking my dog and immediately went home to google it. I was so excited to learn it was an indoor play area for dogs. Our dog Otis is high energy and this is the perfect thing to wear him out, especially when the rainy season starts. The owner Lindy is absolutely amazing with dogs! She set up obstacle courses for Otis and made sure he was engaged and happy during his visit. He got a mental and physical work out and was exhausted for the rest of the day when we got home. Another huge selling point is that you can bring 2 dogs to your slot. We brought a friend and his dog with us for a recent visit and both dogs had a fun time. It was also a great socialization tool. My one tip is that time slots fill up quickly on the weekend, so you may need to book a bit in advance to get a weekend playtime. K9 Fun Zone is worth every penny!

We originally started taking Captain Quint to K9 fun zone after he was attacked at a dog park. I didn’t trust the other dogs and I did not trust that my dog had the best recall either. We started going to Lindy’s teen play group in January 2015 and it turned out to be the absolute best thing we have done for Quint. What I love most about K9 fun zone is LINDY! Lindy is so attentive and loves every dog that comes to play time. Lindy makes sure that everyone is having fun and playing safe. I never have to worry if Quint fails to come when called because I know that it will not result in him running into the jaws of a more aggressive animal. Every dog plays safe under Lindy’s supervision and that makes it so easy for Quint to have fun and me to relax. We still go to Thurs play group when we can to work on Quint’s recall and burn off some energy. K9 fun zone is truly my favorite doggy training and playpark!

Thank goodness for Lindy and the K9 Fun Zone!
My dog is a very high-​energy 88 lb. 4-​yr old Malamute mix and he loves the K9 Fun Zone! He was recovering from oral surgery and couldn’t go back to daycare and behaves badly at the dog park. So we went to the Fun Zone to burn off some excess energy.
Lindy has an excellent combination of knowledge in agility, obedience training, and canine behavior. She ran him through the obstacles and he left tired and happy!

Lindy is awesome! I really enjoyed bringing my dog here to learn from her. We learned a few commands to practice at home and did some work on all of them.
Lindy even sent me some nice handouts to work on afterwards and made training my dog easy.

My boyfriend and I took our two dogs to K9 Fun Zone today for the first time for an hour of private «fun-​gility.» There was tons of free street parking available at 11 am on a Saturday, and the building wasn’t hard to find. We were a little late but were greeted by the very friendly staff person (I believe her name was Lindy, but I’m not the best with names) who walked us through the equipment and made friends with the pups. The Zone is pretty big, lots of room to run for a couple of 45 – 50 lb dogs. There are lots of different pieces of equipment and toys to borrow, and other small details that make K9 Fun Zone a welcoming place for dogs and owners.
Our dogs are rescues, so they have their quirks; Boots, for example, has proved to be reactive, so she can’t enjoy dog parks anymore. However, she’s still super high energy, so she needs somewhere fun to run around! Our anxious dog, Hildy, tagged along because we thought she might enjoy it, too, and up to 2 additional dogs are free! She was mostly too nervous to play but she seemed to have a good time anyway.
Boots, on the other hand, was in her element and looked super happy learning how to navigate all the agility equipment. She learned remarkably quickly and was soon dashing through tunnels, climbing ramps, and jumping through hoops. It was so fun to watch her!
Lindy made sure to pay equal attention to both pups, even encouraging Hildy to try small things while rewarding with tons of treats. The time raced by and soon we had to leave. Lindy made sure that the next batch of dogs and owners were waiting away from the front door so Boots wouldn’t get riled up, which I really appreciated. All of us will be excited to return!

Great first visit! My somewhat shy dog opened right up on the agility equipment. He picked up everything pretty quickly and was perfectly worn out when we finished. This is a great service for dogs that aren’t comfortable at the dog park and just need some time to run around and play. Lindy is great and helped us figure out the best way to get our boy Jack on the equipment and how to make him feel confident. We will definitely be coming back!

Phinney celebrated her first birthday party with a couple of her canine friends and even more of her human friends. She had an awesome time. There was plenty of agility equipment for the dogs to jump over, crawl into, and balance on. My weird leggy dog was able to accomplish most of the obstacles with a little coaxing, except for the tunnel — she refused to go in more than a quarter way before backing out. I think she loved being the center of attention too.
Lindy, the proprietor, is super nice and helpful. She was there to train and lure the dogs through the different courses.
The space is quite large, with plenty of room for multiple dogs and people. We brought it some pizza, drinks, and food and had a great time watching our dogs go crazy. This space is definitely a great alternative if you have a dog that may be too reactive for the dog park.

Woof woof woof woof (Translation: This place was so much fun!)
K9 Fun Zone was a venue recommended to me for a place to host a Pomeranian Halloween Party for my meetup group. The owner, Lindy, emailed me back right away and made reserving the venue super easy. For events it’s $ 10/​dog at the door or if you have fewer than 7 dogs it’s $ 70 for two hours. She hangs around for accident cleanup and whatever other help you may need. She recommended no more than 15 small dogs as it gets pretty crowded around 15 dogs plus owners. With 10 dogs and their owners (some dogs had two owners!) it was perfect! Lindy also put out some of the basic fun-​gility equipment. All the dogs and the owners had a blast getting their dogs to play on the equipment and trying to get them to do tricks. Lindy is also a dog trainer so she helped everyone teach their dogs how to use the equipment.
There are about 20 padded folding chairs and a 4′ folding table you can use. You and your guests can bring any food or non-​alcoholic beverages that you’d like. The venue really proved to be a perfect place for a dog party. Everyone in my meetup group felt the $ 10 they paid was well worth it and can’t wait to have another party there. I highly recommend checking out this place for your next doggy playgroup!

The K9 Fun Zone is an indoor space where you can take your dog for training or socialization. It is a very nice resource to have here in the Pacific Northwest where the rain can make outdoor activity difficult and/​or messy. My pup and I attended their weekly «Yappy Hour», a socialization opportunity for dogs under 25 pounds.
If you own a small dog you know that sometimes even a well-​meaning large dog can traumatize a small dog, particularly one that has not been around bigger dogs.
I’m guessing the building is maybe 70′ x 100′ and has a rubber floor to provide the dogs padding and traction. They also have a selection of things used in the sport of agility that you can let your dog explore in order to gain confidence and perhaps balance.
The owner is a very nice woman who is very attentive to the dogs and makes sure that any troublemakers (like mine unfortunately) are given a timeout. The business was designed to cater to shy and reactive dogs but its scope has apparently expanded. It’s not a fancy place, the Lord knows it does not need to be — it is clean and safe, and most of all it has a roof over the top. The one-​hour play session was $ 7 which is a good value.
My pup was invited to a another dog’s birthday party there so if you are that kind of dog owner you now have the equivalent of a Chuck E. Cheese for dogs. Which reminds me, I have to buy a present for that dog now.

A tired pooch is a happy pooch.
My foster dog and I love the K9 Fun Zone. We come to the Zone at least once a week, with a week’s worth of pent up energy and we always leave doggone tired! We always sign up for the 55 minute play and exercise time slot. There are a myriad of activities you can partake in with your dog here. From agility to K9 nose work, to playing on the flirt pole and even going on a treadmill. Lindy will teach you how to use any of the equipment properly, and can even help desensitize your pup to the treadmill. If this is your first time here, I’d recommend trying the agility obstacles to get your dog warmed up and acquainted with the different toys. It may also help build their confidence if they are a shyer dog. Overall, the K9 Fun Zone is a fun and stimulating place for any pooch, and even as a two-​legger I also leave exhausted!

After meaning to try K9 Fun Zone out for almost a year, I finally went for the first time on Saturday and went back for a second visit 4 days later! The Fun Zone really is THAT good. I have a dog-​reactive Pembroke Welsh Corgi with a ton of energy in an old echoey apartment — this place is the answer.
There are so many activities, and a really decent amount of floor space to run around. The floor gets cleaned up between visits, and the space is super clean. My pup has a great time learning on the agility equipment!
The best thing about this place for me is how accommodating they are for reactive dogs — checking to make sure the coast is clear so there aren’t any unexpected run-​ins on the way out is SO helpful and makes the whole trip so stress free and easy!

The K9 Fun Zone is pretty much the greatest thing to ever happen to Nickerson — maybe even Queen Anne & Fremont! (There are other candidates — Norm’s of course — but now is a time for hyperbole.)
This is a place where you can bring your dog (s) on a rainy, cold Pacific Northwest afternoon and give them a chance to go crazy, learn tricks, practice their training, weave, jump, run, balance, leap, crawl — all that! It has all these features for agility training and you can use as many as you want, or none at all. You can play ball, let them run around like mad, work with them on fun games/​training, and just hang out.
We’ve had dog parties here too, and they went all out to make it fun and exciting.
Lindy is amazing with dogs, she knows what she’s talking about, and she genuinely enjoys it when dogs have a good time.
If one of my dogs were writing this, he or she would mark this place so hard — it’s that good!

Wow it’s been awhile since my last review…
…it was all about our doggie this weekend and found out via meetup that there was a young shiba group meeting here as a branch off the usual monthly Shiba meet up in Bellevue and was specifically for those 1 year or younger.
It is near the Fremont neighborhood and is not that hard to find although parking is limited in the front entrance. We met Lola whose owner is the one who set this whole thing up. Another lady from Everett who we’ve seen in the big Shiba meet up came with her two (one male and one female), followed by a super baby one brought by her guy owner. There was another young Shiba we knew from the meet up but sadly had an altercation with the other Shibas and did his Shiba scream and was just not a good day for him which was sad (hope you’re doing okay Rigby!).
Other than those awkward dog fight/​aggression moments, overall the evening went splendid and it was awesome to see our Zoomie do so well on the agility obstacles… we were super impressed and inspired us to perhaps train him as he is getting older to try those cool agility competitions.
Definitely a nice playground, change of pace from the dog park and highly recommended especially if you are organizing a breed meet up.

What an awesome place to bring my very active fur babies when the Seattle weather just won’t allow us to be outside. Came here as part of a Rat Terrier Meet Up group so I had my two pups and there were another dozen or so Rat Terriers and their humans as well. My older dog has really not been around dogs enough, my fault, and so she hung out very close to me with occasional forays into the activities of the other dogs. My newest 11 month old rescue had a blast running, chasing, being chased, learning how to go through some of the agility obstacles, etc. Definitely want to encourage him to be active and social with other dogs and this provided the perfect opportunity.
