So I don’t Know where to start with this company! I contacted them because of there rating on Unilocal.Niki was the person I arranged our visit through. She was very nice and professional through out the whole process. But unfortunately the rest of the company that I corresponded with were NOT! We had two appointments the first being a three and a half hour meet greet and get as much done as possible. He showed up without Drywall mud or a drill bit which both where relayed to the company he would need at the first visit. We got a TV hung and part of a drywall project started. ($ 302.50) Than the following handyman Garrett showed up. In his two hour appointment he glued a piece of wood to the floor and broke a $ 15 dishwasher bracket! ($ 170+15) When I asked him to leave after two hours he decided it would be a good idea to be rude to my wife and tell her the next time she wants an appliance installed to call an appliance installer! Also if you want someone to look at your hot water heater call a plumber. Well Garrett thanks for the advice! We will never call House Calls Etc for anything again!
I will say when I confronted Niki about my concerns with the amount of work we were getting she once again stayed very professional. After a bit of negotiations we settled on a service call and one hour of service. ($ 284.96) down from $ 500 and some change. So If you would like to pay $ 284.96 for a tv to be hung, a piece of wood glued to the floor and a drywall project started but not finished ohh and have someone smart off to your wife! Than you found your company!

I paid $ 200 to be told I needed an electrician. This was my second handyman I hired from the Seattle area to help me fix my fan. I had my bathroom fan broken and had hoped these guys could fix the problem. The guy who came out was nice enough and after about 30 minutes of looking at my outlet, he told me that I needed an electrician. However, because he still came out, I had to pay for the visit, regardless of them being able to fix the problem. So I paid almost $ 200 with tax for the visit. SO if you have any worries that you might have electrical problem, save yourself the money of paying for a visit, and hire an electrician.

Left a message off hours and got a call back the next morning. Scheduled to for the day after finding a leak under my toilet, Garrett came by, checked it out and resealed it for me. They were easy to book and the fix took very little time.

Service was excellent, which was a welcome departure from the shoddy work the guy my apartment building uses. The technician took the time to make sure I understood what the issue was and why he chose the suggested course of action to solve the issue long term. Scheduling wasn’t a hassle, and the gal on the phone acted like my schedule was her schedule. My dentist office could learn a thing from these guys.

I continue to use this handyman company because of their customer service, efficiency, honesty and quality. Brian came to replace my dimmer switch and fit me in the busy schedule since I was hosting a party for the holiday’s. Next on the schedule is re-​chalking tub, replace fire alarms, put new corner edges on my kitchen island, and replace HVAC filters. I continue to find many things for these guys to do that I never would’ve thought about. They seem to do about anything, and it saves me the time and hassle. Thank you Brian & team! I gave Brian a call and he answered ALL of my questions with patience, honesty, and clarity. They are clear with their service and know their craft. Unfortunately because our house is 3 stories and they are limited to 2 stories houses (paint and caulking) — we were not able to work something out — but I’ll definitely keep their number for any eventual mishap that will happen. Great customer service!

This is the first time we’ve used a handyman service rather than a general contractor or painter. We had an assortment of jobs that needed to be done. We chose this firm based on reviews. We are thrilled with the result.
The process of booking our appointment, allocating time needed and tools that they should bring was very professional and impressive. They confirmed their understanding of our needs and made the pricing very clear.
Tony was assigned to our job. He arrived as scheduled, was very easy to work with, very knowledgeable and cheerfully willing to do any job we asked. He made excellent suggestions about the right way to solve our particular issues and a few preventative steps to do as well. His work was excellent and it took less than the estimated time. We were so pleased, we are scheduling the preventative steps he correctly suggested and additional projects as well. We will definitely use them again and we are happy to recommend them highly.

I wish I could give a medium rating of 2.5, as I wasn’t able to have House Calls Etc do any work for me because I was not comfortable with their estimate policy.
I had several projects I wanted to have completed including ceiling fan installation, flat screen TV mounting and even extending a roof top deck.
I was given a rough estimate via email based on my explanation of the project. however when I asked to have a formal estimate done I was informed this would cost $ 175 + tax which would be deducted from the total cost at the end of the project. I didn’t feel at all comfortable with this as I feel this puts House Calls Etc at an extremely unfair advantage where they can estimate as high as they like because if I don’t like the estimate I am already out $ 175.
Wish I could have worked with the company because they seemed helpful in all other respects.

Very reliable, honest and good communication skills.
On time, nice to my weird dog, wore shoe protectors.
Tony was the handyman and he was good at explaining what he was doing and why.
I had pre-​purchased a screen door that he recommended I not install. This was because it would reduce the amount of space in and out of my door. He measured for a better kind and gave me the info about the best place to get it, since I have a custom-​sized door. He went to the store to return my original door — saving me a trip.
When I related to him that I had a few other things that I might need done he was honest about the limits of what he could do — for example, asking a plumber to do a plumbing job, instead of trying to do it himself.
I would definitely recommend this company and would use them again!

A lot of the stuff I had done was probably pretty easy to google and figure out on my own, but Tony did not make me feel silly at all. This review is has been on my to-​do list for too long now. And just now, finally, I’m getting a chance to put in a good word where good word is definitely due.
A few months back (perhaps around 5 months ago?) we were on the lookout for a handyman in the area to get some work done on the railing of our home where some bugs had eaten away at the wood (moisture ants). All in all the situation was somewhat of an «emergency», as the area that sustained damage was exposited to the elements, and we didn’t want matters getting worse than they already were. Looking over Unilocal we put in a call to one of the handymen in the area — first with a prominent one one based on Calitol Hill — explaining the situation and also our need to be in touch with somebody who can address the issue sooner than later. From this guy we got no response (at least, we got no response until many, many days later… so much for «urgency»), so we gave the next one on our list a shot, House Calls Etc.
Within a day we received a call back, and from there things moved forward swiftly and painlessly. Between the owner (co-​owner?), Brian, and the fellow that came out (I can’t remember his name right now — tattoos and prior serviceman), the whole experience top to bottom was nothing short of perfect. Service was timely, communication was excellent, and House Calls Etc.‘s flexibility/​knowledge with acquiring the specific materials we requested for use in the repair (a certain kind of synthetic composite that’s resistant to decay and insects) was awesome. Additionally, and perhaps most importantly, *the quality of the actual carpentry was very precise and very well done*, and the final bill — which we were kept informed of throughout the process — DIDN’T have any surprises and DIDN’T make us cringe!
Seriously, if you have work that needs to be done, just do yourself a favor and start with House Calls Etc. It’s That’s what we should have done in the first place.

Hired Housecalls to regrout 4 windows in my office building. Very clearly told him that I did not want silicone — I wanted new grout. He sends a guy wearing no shirt and covered in tatoos which upset my tenants. He says the job is done and charges me $ 257.00. I pay him without inspecting — big mistake. His guy applied silicone — no grout. I could have done that myself in about 10 minutes. Then my bill pay service accidently issues a double payment. He doesn’t return the double payment — he cashes both checks!
Run, run away as fast as you can. Have nothing to do with this company!!!

We had a wonderful experience with Michael from House Calls, etc. He came out one weekday evening to estimate our work and was able to schedule the work for the following Saturday to accommodate our crazy work schedules. He was professional, nice, and on time and the work looks great.
4 stars instead of 5 because Brian and Michael took a while to get back to our initial request (I had to send a few emails), but I understand because they are really busy.

I hired House Calls Etc. after a missed appointment with another contractor and a really large quote from another contractor that I wanted a second opinion on. I should have gone to House Calls Etc. first!
Tony was the contractor who came out to work on my house, and over two days and ten billable hours (give or take a bit), we got the following done:
–TV Wall Mounted
–Toilet Paper Holders Mounted
–Grout sealed, repaired, and three bathrooms re-​caulked and baseboards installed
–Bathroom overhead fan purchased and installed (required cutting sheetrock away and paint put on the ceiling)
–Cat door installed
And some other random things I am sure I am forgetting!
Tony did an excellent job, was personable and on-​time, and it worked out very well. I will use them again in the spring when we re-​do our deck!

AWESOME!
I met Brian Saul, owner and handyman, through my small Condo who hired him for some lighting and some maintenance work. I am sure glad I met him too!
He enjoys doing plumbling and electrical work, but also repairs appliances… which for me I needed because my electrical dryer decided to commit «suicide».
Why should you think of hiring Brian?, Good question! Here is a few reasons:
