Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle Downtown/Seattle Center

When looking for a hotel in Seattle, I knew we were going to have a car. Wanting to avoid outrageous parking fees, I chose this Hampton Inn. It was close to downtown and wasn’t charging upwards of $ 40 a day for parking. We stayed here for two nights: Jan 18, 2016 — Jan 20, 2016.
I booked a 1 KING BED NONSMOKING at the AAA rate of $ 109.65 a night. With tax, the total ended up being $ 257.51. Parking here was a $ 15 base rate +$ 1.44 tax per night. The total for our stay with room, parking and all taxes was $ 290.40 for both nights.
When checking in, I asked if there were any complimentary upgrades avail. I’m a Hilton HHonors Gold member, so I get free upgrades when avail. I normally ask at check in, but I’ve never been able to get an upgrade. This time I did! The guy at the front desk was super sweet. He said he’d do a little rearranging and upgraded us to a one bedroom suite. We got room 165 with an entrance in the lower lobby. The room was a good size with a kitchen, living room, bedroom and bathroom. We didn’t take advantage of the kitchen since we were out and about the whole time, but the room was comfy and clean. We also got complimentary beverages and snacks. There is also a daily complimentary breakfast by the main lobby, but I never checked it out.
Parking here can be a bit confusing and difficult as it looks like they have outdoor parking and three separate garages. All stop at dead ends, so it takes a little maneuvering to turn around. One night, when we came back from dinner, there was no outdoor parking or general garage parking. I then remembered there was a separate garage for the suites! I believe the entrance is on Taylor. Plenty of parking in that garage.
Overall, a nice comfy and clean hotel at a reasonable price. It may be a little dated, but their customer service makes up for it!

If I could give more than five stars, I would… YES to a Hampton Inn!
We were in the Seattle area for a race my friend was running up in the Cascades and we stayed a couple of days prior as well as after his race.
We had two rooms for the four of us and we were upgraded to a suite with a kitchen (2 suites) for the same price… I am a diamond Hilton Honors so this may have been the reason, but regardless, they didn’t have to do it. The front desk personnel are second to none… so friendly, so helpful and so willing to offer suggestions. All the staff are phenomenal. I saw the management cleaning tables in the restaurant when he saw people were waiting for tables… who does that??? I loved the inclusion and friendliness of everyone who works there. I do need to send out special kudos to the fellow that ran the breakfast. It was particularly busy and hectic, yet he managed to create miracles by finding tables for everyone and always managed to have the tastiest choices of items from which to choose. I could not find one thing I would change about the breakfasts — it was a joy to go downstairs each morning for fresh waffles, homemade oatmeal, yogurt, eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes… and so on!
As we were there during the summer months, the hotel was quite crowded with cruise passengers that were coming and going. As this was their busy season, the rates were high. However the location was centrally located which suited our needs. We walked to most places or used public transportation. As a Diamond member, we were offered free parking which was great and, of course free wi-​fi. I am going to be back in Seattle in a few months and have already booked my room at the Hampton Inn.
To recap: the staff is down to earth and humble, the rooms excellent, the beds SOOOOOOO comfortable, the breakfast offers were everything one could want and location perfect.

Stayed here over the holiday and was totally impressed! We have had family and friends stay here in the past and everyone has really liked this hotel. The updated interior is really comfortable and warm. Our room was very clean and nicely updated. The staff was incredible nice. The complimentary breakfast is great. Lots of choices. Nice touch is the fruit flavored water in the lobby that’s offered all day. We were always made to feel welcome. If we passed a staff member in the hall they smiled and greeted us warmly. I’ve always said it starts at the top so whom ever is managing this location is doing a really good job. Our housekeepers & breakfast staff were among the nicest. On New Years Eve we had trouble finding a parking space at the hotel. A really nice hispanic guy went out of our way to find us a space for our car. He was really sweet and I wish I would have asked for his name. We will be back again for sure!

Great location wonderful parking garage which is great to keep you out of the Seattle rain. $ 15. Daily rate for parking. Clean room and very comfortable. The hotel looks brand new and very well maintained. Would definitely return if I return to Seattle.

Came here on a family vacation. At first overlooked it, because well, its a Hampton Inn. And I’ve never know them to be that nice. But the reviews say that it was recently renovated and it looked good in the pics. Overall I think this is a tremendously great value, and really great for families.
We got a two bedroom suite. While the rooms weren’t that big, everyone got their own room and we had a decent living space to spend time in during the afternoon. The place is old, but the renovations do give it a more modern look. The staff was really great. Had to ask the front desk for a few favors during our stay, and each time they did all that they could to accommodate my requests.
Breakfast buffet was pretty good. Stayed several nights there, and each morning they had different selections for the hot dish. Nothing fabulous, but everything was good enough, and they were always quick to make sure there was plenty of each food option. Kids loved being able to make their own waffles, even if I thought they tasted pretty bland. Guess that’s what the maple syrup is for. While the food is only available for breakfast, throughout most of the day there was complimentary coffee available and fruit flavored water. A few days in the afternoon they had cookies available in individual bags. A nice touch.
The best and worst thing about the hotel is the location. Its just a few blocks from the Space Needle and the parks with all of the many museums. So it was ideal for us, and allowed us to easily walk to any attraction and then back to our hotel. The park even has a shuttle that takes you pretty close to Pike Place Market. There is a grocery store a block away, and several restaurants are within walking distance. We didn’t even need to use our car for many of the days of our trip.
The bad thing about being in such a prime location is that there was a good amount of traffic noise. While we weren’t on a major street, there was one a block away from the hotel. And it was a minor hassle having to endure the street noise. But again, it is a minor complaint, and I would definitely stay here again if I was traveling with family.

A great value for the price. Not right in downtown, but is a walkable distance to the space needle and the bill & Melinda gates foundation and the city bus stop is right across the street. We took the buses around Seattle very easily. Rooms were clean and staff were all very friendly. They give out free water bottles every day. The breakfast surpassed expectations– different offerings every day and a large dining room with flat screen tv’s. Would stay again.

We stayed here for 2 weeks while my spouse revovered from hip surgery. Great service and friendly staff. Conveniently located near great restaurants, a nearby QFC for shopping, and very close to Seattle Center and the Space Needle. While there is no restaurant on premise the nearby places more than make up for it. The hotel also has a very nice free breakfast to get you going. Highly recommend if you need a place to stay in this part of Seattle.
Just an update to my review to clarify that, while I gave the fine folks a 5 star rating, please do not confuse this with a 5 star hotel. It is a pretty basic hotel (probably more 3 star-​ish) but the service and overall experience was a 5 star. Did not want to confuse anyone about the rating.

Location, Location, Location and in this case service too. I will always chose a Hilton brand hotel because I’m an Honors member and I want my gold status! Hampton is an awesome brand, (usually free) parking, free breakfast, comfy beds. This location did not dissapoint. We booked this for a pre-​cruise (3 nights) stay. Great location close to the Space Needle and Monorail. We were upgraded to a very roomy suite (you have to ask for that) that had a big kitchen (full size fridge, microwave, stove) with a balcony (not a great view though). Loved that we could do a load or two of laundry before our cruise too. The staff were super helpful, even lending me a charger for my phone because my lovely wife forgot to pack mine. In the late afternoon they even offer warm cookies. My only complaint was the shuttle to the cruise. We pre-​booked (7.00 a person) and in the morning we came down at the requested time. The lobby was a mass of people and it seemed very disorganized. We ended up taking an Über to the port for only 10.00. so cheaper than if we would have used the shuttle.

We moved here from another hotel downtown because we needed A/​C due to the heat. The room was a relief, even if it was $ 320 a night. The hotel looks fine, staff is super friendly, and the rooms are cleanish, but the carpet is filthy. Our feet were black on the bottoms from walking on the carpet. I took a photo of the dirt that came off of our 2 year olds feet after walking around the room for two hours without socks. For $ 300 a night, I expect clean carpet. Also, the parking is ridiculously tight.

We stayed here because we’re Hilton cardholders, and it was just a short walk away from the Seattle Center. We also liked that these were suites, so that the bedroom and living room were separated, and that they offered free breakfast and coffee all day long.
It does feel old and musty, and the room isn’t anything fancy… but it suited our needs. The bed was comfortable, it had a couch, a kitchen, a nice bathroom, and a desk. The breakfast buffet was pretty good — there were omelets, oatmeal, cold cereal, freshly cut fruit, a make-​your-​own waffle bar, and ample supply of coffee and tea.
Wouldn’t mind staying here again if I ever find myself in Seattle, but it probably wouldn’t be my first choice.

I’ve continued to have a great relationship with the Hampton Inn & Suites and this experience continued this attitude. The staff was really nice and when checking in provided me with a care package of water bottles and pistachios.

I have gold level status with HHonors, so I am clearly all about brand loyalty when possible. This Hampton location definitely fit within and exceeded my expectations. For those of you who are weighing pre-​cruise options, this hotel is a solid choice.
The location can’t be beat. There are great restaurant options and a 24-​hour grocery store within walking distance. The downer is no free shuttle from the airport, but that doesn’t seem to be the case with any of the downtown hotels. We decided to grab a cab from the airport, and it was $ 48 for two people. Free breakfast is standard at all Hamptons, but this location had some better offerings such as fresh berries. To get to Pier 66, they do offer a shuttle, which was $ 6 per person. As with other Hamptons, you also get free WiFi. The rooms are pretty standard, but clean and quiet despite being busy. All in all, a great stay,

This location is awesome if you’re working in South Lake Union. Mercer gives you easy access to anything, and you get a little bit of walk too. There’s a 24 hour grocery store with Starbucks just around the corner if you need anything the hotel doesn’t have.
The service at this hotel has always been fantastic. Everyone is very happy and helpful. The hotel itself is newer, with nice fixtures and furniture. Still very basic (it is a Hampton Inn), but no where near ‘two-​star’ quality. The location of the hotel keeps it quiet at night, quiet enough that you can sleep with the window open. Rooms are small but cozy.
Overall, if you’re staying at a ‘Hilton’ hotel, this is a great choice.

A clean comfortable hotel with a generous breakfast buffet included in the room rate. I’ve stayed here several times on business trips and have found the front desk staff kind, helpful and friendly. Like most newer Hamptons, the rooms are decent sized and reasonably priced and come with breakfast.

Just finished a 2 night stay in the Inn section. Paid $ 159 +$ 15 per night parking.
The Hotel is what you would expect for a Hampton, room was clean, TV had lots of channels, amenities were fine. Did not have the breakfast Staff was very helpful with some directions.
I realize parking in Seattle is a cluster and this property is no different. Very small spaces and way too many poles in the parking garages, thought for sure I was going to dent or ding my rental, but made it through.
Area is great, very close to Seattle Center, easy access to the I5, 24 hour grocery in the next block, 10 mins to U Dub.
Will stay here again if price compettitve

This is a great downtown location (close to the Space Needle) with reasonable rates (AAA rate is great). If you are into walking you could easily get down to Pikes, and the Waterfront… at very least its a quick drive or reasonable cab fare.
This Hampton is one building but it appears they added on the «suite» part of the hotel later which has it’s own entrance in the lower lobby (although you can get to it from the main lobby). The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and helpful… just like all the other reviews state. I did take the advice of someone on here and requested a room in the back since … yes, it is true… the walls seem paper thin and you can hear ‘stuff’. I was on the 6^th floor which is the top floor, so I did not hear people walking above me which I guess is a plus. The rooms are very clean and the bathrooms roomy.
There are several restaurants within a very easy walk, including a coffee shop — Café Vitta (makes a killer Latte and super fresh pastries). Citizen which is across the street from the back is open for breakfast if you want to forego the Hampton breakfast. There is also a BIG grocery store right across the street which is a nice plus.
Now… the parking. What can I say other than what everyone says is true — it is really no bueno. What do I mean by that you ask? The spaces are very small — there are some «SUV» marked spaces but those are the size for a regular car AND they fill up FAST. There are two parking garages — one under the original hotel, one under the Suites part but the spaces are small. I heard a guest getting super upset about there being no parking in any spot one evening so I am guessing they may not have enough parking if the hotel is running on the full side.
My favorite thing about this Hampton? They have this amazing ice water dispenser in the front lobby that has this core thing filled with fruit for flavor infusion… needless to say I was drinking cup loads of water during my stay.

The suites and the hotel overall are great for families or really anyone (though a room would suffice for a couple).
Very, very clean. People were helpful and informative. Conveniently located. Breakfast was good. Excellent business center. Comfortable sleeping experience, even on the sofa bed.
I can’t think of one thing that was negative.

A relatively affordable hotel, within walking distance of the Space Needle, downtown and amazing amounts of food. Or, with a 24-​hr QFC (grocery store) next door, you could just bring the party to you.
The hotel staff greets you with a smile every time you want into and out of this place. If you’re a secret agent trying not be noticed, be aware because they’ll notice you anyways.
Two improvement points: (1) breakfast is free, but a little lacking on options and the eggs are downright terrible. (2) my room didn’t have a fridge, and beer won’t cool itself.
At least point (1) is tempered by the presence of the Citizen basically on the back porch of this hotel, which makes incredible breakfast.

Enjoyed my one night stay here, very friendly employees, secured parking in a garage with a gate that is accessible only with your room key, I felt safe staying here alone for work.
The complimentary breakfast was great, waffles, breakfast meats, cheese omelette, yogurt, fresh fruit, coffee, muffins. I also enjoy the 24 hour free hot chocolate, tea or coffee/​decaf coffee and the evening complimentary cookies are great!
The room itself was comfortable, Neutrogena amenities.
Walking distance to the space needle but at night, I felt more comfortable driving, the space needle is right down the road. A little far from Pikes Place, so I’d drive to Pike’s Place.
All in all, a great stay!

The location of the hotel is perfect. With great access to downtown (Space Needle), Queen Anne, and Seattle Pacific University. It’s clean and updated. The beds were super comfy and there were plenty of squishy pillows. They have a full breakfast with eggs, oatmeal and even make-​your-​own waffles. Also free Wi-​Fi. There is an underground parking garage for $ 15 a day.
