I don’t even know how a standard 4 cylinder car oil change cost $ 110.00. Their customer service is horrible. Don’t waste your time.

Non-​friendly atmosphere. Staff was rude when I told them I only wanted an oil change and nothing additional. When they checked the manual in the glove box they removed all articles from the glove box and left them crumpled in a pile in the rear seat. Overall poor service, never going back. Avoid this place.

I unfortunately received a bad first impression – when I presented the valpak coupon for a regular oil change – the attendant said it applied to high synthetic oil change. He even checked the oil said it was synthetic. Off the bat, he was manipulative in attempt to up sell. I wasn’t born yesterday and know the car can receive regular oil. I did want to go with a premium oil. But to manipulate me into going into it because I had a coupon is low. One thing you want to build with any business is honesty and trust – right off the bat this wasn’t what they are really after with this one employee’s action. For a business to thrive, honesty goes a long way in sustainability. Nonetheless, the cashier in explaining what was done was nothing to be impressed about. I hope I did get the type of oil I paid for and what was checked was really checked. I probably won’t be back.

So glad I marked my oil filter with a sharpie, because they totally did not change it after charging me 100 bucks for getting an oil change. Went back and demanded a refund outright. Never going there again!

If you want to pay twice as much as you should, go here! The only upside is the guys are nice. They realize how high their prices are, but have no ability to adjust. My car is a year old. We’ve had the oil changed twice, it needed it, so I went in. I was told it would be $ 81. Then $ 86. This is way high, but I didn’t want to have to make an appointment somewhere else and wanted it done. While I’m in the waiting room they tell me I need a new air filter, $ 36 but they’ll give me $ 16. 10 minutes later my car is done and my bill is $ 132. Yes, $ 132!!! The guy says «this can’t be right.» Rings it up a few more times. Sure enough, they charge me $ 132 for an oil change and a $ 16 air filter– WAAAAY more than quoted and ridiculously more than anywhere else. If you want to be totally screwed– go to this joint. I won’t be back and I bet no one else who goes once goes twice.

I had a problem with my car leaking oil, so took it to Grease Monkey late at night and parked it there and left a note on the windshield saying that I will come tomorrow to service it. As soon as I arrived the next day, the guy approached me, and asked if that was my car and he had already print out what kind of oil would my car take. They were pretty clear about the price and what kind of service they will do before they started working on my car. These guys are professional, polite and quick. best of all, they use high quality engine oil (Mobil 1). The only downside its a little bit expensive.

Refused to honor their own Valpak coupon, staff was super polite but stated verbatim that the owner is a dick and won’t take the coupons anymore. So I went to one of the other dozens of lube joints on Rainier

I gave these guys another chance since I try when I can to keep my business in the neighborhood. This time was a good experience. The staff was punctual and efficient, I was treated courteously, and my car was in and out for an oil change in 30 minutes. Upselling is an annoyance at many of these franchise and chain outfits, and I’m pleased to say that nobody tried to sell me a service other than the one I requested. Much appreciated.

Arrived for 15 minutes and was not helped at all, even after several attempts to flag someone down. Finally someone came over to ask for my keys – and did not ask what service I wanted. The person helping us out also kept trying to up sell us on services and oil. This included coming in several times because he forgot to mention we needed xyz. Would not recommend this location. The one in udistrict is much better!

Officially DONE with this dump.
I showed up at 3pm Sunday with one car in the bay. So, no wait, right? Wrong.
Worker Dude comes up to me: Sorry this is our last car. We are going on lunch.
Me: what time do you close?
Him: 4:30.
Me: You close in 90 minutes and you’re all taking lunch now?
Wtf. I am done wit this place. Done. Done.

I asked for the cheapest oil change, $ 43, and they charged $ 93 for Mobil !. DO NOT TRUST THEM! I WILL NEVER RETURN!

Most of the other reviews I read here were over a year old when I got my oil changed here. My wife had her car serviced here a couple weeks ago and she raved about her experience. My trip here was excellent also. They changed the oil, were super friendly and fast.

It’s so expensive! The service guys are always pleasant, but I’m going to start going to my dealership for ½ the price. I paid $ 84 here last time for a simple oil change… so I thought.

I typically am not one to write reviews but have felt that this experience is worth passing along to fellow Unilocalers.
I drive a 2005 Mercedes C230 that only gets services at the dealership. In this instance I just needed to get my oil topped off and being far from the dealership I went to the local Grease Monkey. My thought was it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes right? Well that was not the case.
I am in the waiting room for about 25 minutes when the attendant tells me he could not top off my oil. The reason being I do not have a dipstick to measure the oil. I asked if there is any other way to measure. and how I don’t understand as this has never come up. He says maybe the last person that worked on my car dropped it somewhere. Great response on his part!
I am not knowledgeable about the oil measuring as the dealership has been doing a great job taking care of everything. I ended up leaving Grease Monkey feeling odd and knowing something was not right with this whole transaction.
Come to find out my car does not come with a dipstick, everything is electronic. All the attendant needed to do was go into the control panel of my car to get the measurements. I know my car is not the only model that has this feature. How is a company that specializes in oil changes not aware of this simple fact? I just don’t understand.
This whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth and emphasizes the fact that I need to keep going to dealerships for maintenance. Yes it might cost a little more but I would rather pay to have knowledgeable staff work on my car. At least if something was to happen I know the dealership will stand behind their work.
To the business — all cars are not made the same. Please train your staff to be more knowledgeable on what you claim to be your specialty.

After reading all these bad reviews while I’m sitting in their waiting room I got a little nervous, but overall the service was pretty good, I took both my car and my boyfriend’s car their and they even gave me an extra discount because of it. It was my second time there and probably not the last one.

I’ve been here six times which proves I’m an idiot. I’ve paid for flushings, been upsold into synthetics, bought filters, and delubers or delousers, or whatever. I sit in the damned waiting room like a sucker, now KNOWING FULL WELL THAT SOME IDIOT WILL COME IN AND TELL ME TO BUY SOMETHING AND I WILL BECAUSE I’M A DUMMY.
There is no question that I have more years of education that every person who has EVER worked at this Grease Monkey COMBINED and yet I still fork over a C-​Note every time I go in for a $ 29.95 oil change. When I sit in their waiting room I WANT TO DIE. I can’t even explain what I’m buying or why I’m doing it. At least when the Lexus dealer screws me they have a nice waiting room and a giant Starbucks Latte Machine.
Grease Monkey, you are without doubt the worst business I have ever been to twice that wasn’t government owned. ONLY THE POST OFFICE AND DMV ARE WORSE.

I hate going to get my oil changed. I used to do it by myself, but now I have a newer car and it’s difficult to do it myself and no longer worth the time to me. I always steel myself for the upsells and unecessary recommendations, but I didn’t get any crap from these guys. After looking at these reviews, I wonder if it’s under new management or something?
I got my oil changed there for the first time. They were very polite and personable. They tried to upsell me to synthetic and I said no, and they didn’t have a problem with that. They didn’t try to sell me wiper blades or an air filter or any other things I could do myself. They did a brief vacuum of the interior. They gave me a $ 5-​off coupon, a bottle of water, and some free chocolate.

I have to agree with the other comments. I ran over to Remo’s to get some olive oil while they did the work. When I returned, they tried to up-​sell me on several things I know I didn’t need.
As I was driving home, I noticed that the maintenance light was still on, so I called to see if they had reset it. The guy told me I needed to come back anyway because I forgot my receipt. I had him staple it to my invoice and had just filed it, so I knew that was incorrect. When I told him this, he said I needed to come down anyway, because if I had to call, it would be too hard for me to understand how to fix it if he tried to tell me over the phone.
I was thoroughly unimpressed and will not use their services again. I wsh I had consulted Unilocal before visiting. This place is an insult to both grease and monkeys.

Fully agree with Tom’s post regarding the Rainer Ave. Grease Monkey. This is one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve ever had. In a nutshell, these idiots:
1. Charged me nearly $ 10 over the posted price because my vehicle is a 4×4 … even though this was not communicated to me beforehand, nor was it posted in a conspicuous area in the lobby. I mean, $ 37.99 for a freakin’ oil change??? That’s $ 15 over the going rate … WTF.
2. Charged me for 2 wiper blades after touting the «buy one get one free» wiper blade special as the main selling point.
3. Gave me the hard sell on the «high-​mileage» oil change they claimed I needed (I had 80,000 miles on my car). When I asked the sales person what the difference was between the standard oil change and the high mileage oil change he couldn’t give me a straight answer. It’s doubtful the guy knew anything about cars.
4. I specifically asked if their oil change service included a refill of my windshield wiper fluid because mine was out — they said, yeah, of course. Realized a week later that the idiots never filled it.
5. When I settled the bill, the guy who changed my oil told me that I was completely out of coolant and should have it filled before it started getting warm or I would damage my engine. First of all, WHY the hell didn’t they fill my coolant instead of just telling me I was out? A few weeks later I took my car to Firestone in Redmond (wonderful service, BTW). They checked my coolant and told me it was perfectly fine. I’m pretty sure those idiots got my wiper fluid mixed up with the coolant.
6. Lastly, they told me they’d have me out the door in 20 minutes. The service took well over an hour. I hate these people.

I wish I could give 0 stars! But I couldn’t, so I gave them 1. Here’s my report:
1. They put the wrong filter in my truck, so it puked oil allover my driveway
2. They couldn’t find all my zerk fittings, so they just didn’t grease my balljoints/​tie rods, etc…
3. Inadequately drained my oil, so the pan had extra oil above the hash marks.
4. After bringing my truck back, they denied anything was wrong with the leak (claimed they didn’t wipe the oil pan clean), so I brought it to another Grease Monkey to confirm problem, replace the oil filter and top it back off.
The visit was horrible, there was 1 attendant there who took his job seriously. The other ones were just joking around, dancing (yes dancing), and rapping like a bunch of morons. The place is a fuckin’ moron-​joint. I called up that single attendant who was serious to tell him the problem, he apologized repeatedly… but it was the others who fucked up my truck.
SERIOUSLY, DONOT GO TO THE RAINIER GREASE MONKEY, UNLESS YOU WANT YOUR CAR TO BLOW A GASKET. BUNCH OF MINORITY-​ENTITLEMENT MORONS I TELL YOU!
