Driftwood Consignment

If you are a consigner, you will not be getting your share due you. The owners are crooks. There’s always an excuse why your item was sold at a very low price, not the price they contracted with you. Last straw… big white lie! Having suspicions, i asked a close friend to purchase an item I consigned. They told me that it was marked down and that it sold for half the price she actually paid!

Since my last review, I’ve had a few more experiences here and have decided to pull my products and go elsewhere. I’ve found it frustrating that: (a) when I drop my items off and the owner goes through them all, I find out later when I come back to pick up a check that she has decided to pull some items or save them for a different season — a courtesy call or email to explain this would be helpful, and (b) they don’t actually keep the hours they’ve posted. Since I don’t live in the area, I make trips here specifically for this store, and have had at least twice coming here at 5:30 and finding the store closed, despite a note posted that says they’ll be back in ten minutes. It’s such a waste of my time, and gas, when this happens.
I can see how this store succeeds if it focuses only on shoppers and consignors that live in the area and can deal with this whimsical way of doing business, but it doesn’t work for me, so I’ve decided to move on.

Nice consignment store with good selections although I didn’t see anything that I would actually buy. The price is still pretty high but it’s nice to browse through the interesting items that they have on display. A consignment store sounds like an older concept and it’s nice to see that they are still around. The store reminds me of an high-​end pawn shop with the division between the display area in the front and the immediate counter where the staff sits.

I have been coming to Driftwood to satisfy my shopping urges for years now. Driftwood has since moved to a larger space across the street, with more room to display their yummy inventory. Natalie has impeccable taste, and it shows up in the delectable selection of clothing, shoes and accessories. I love that she often has couture vintage items, which are my absolute favorite.
The prices are quite fair, considering the merchandise. There is a range, from nice J Crew styles to luxury brands, like Louis Vuitton and Celine. I have walked out of the store with a Valentino skirt and jacket, and at the same time bought a Banana Republic trench coat. My one true regret is not buying that Prada suede skirt. That is the sound of me, kicking myself for «thinking it over».
Besides shopping, I have also consigned here. A girl has to have a way to turn around her own closet. I felt that the consignment policy was similar to other stores in the city, and that I was able to get really good prices for my items.

Beautiful consignment! As opposed to the smelly, overcrowded secondhand experiences I’ve had in the past, this place is gorgeous — amazing brands at reasonable prices and everything is in wonderful condition. The owner Natalie was very attentive and warm, and helped me find items that fit my style perfectly. I plan on checking back frequently, as they are constantly putting out new inventory.

I have wandered past this shop numerous times, but never went in assuming it was out of my price range. Today I decided to venture inside. They had a lovely selection of consignment items, very reasonably priced. I ended up purchasing a Burberry scarf for $ 35 (the shop owner was nice enough to take $ 10 off because there were a couple dirty spots). I also got a darling sweater from a France company for $ 35.
However, the shop owner was inattentive. She had her baby with her and was chatting with her friend through most of it. She was nice, but mediocre customer service. After I purchased my items, we briefly chatted and she asked how old I was since I «look 15.» Perhaps I’m being sensitive, but being in my 20s I found this offensive. I was taken aback, and made it clear I did not appreciate the comment. I added that it surprised me since I’m usually told the opposite! The shop owner and her friend (the one she was gossiping with throughout my visit), then exclaimed that they couldn’t believe that since I looked like a teenager.
Lovely selection of clothing at great prices, poor (rude) customer interaction.

Warning: the store was not open at 11 AM on Sunday as Unilocal and their store sign advertises. I sat around for 15 minutes and still no luck. A few well-​heeled ladies walked by and lamented that the store wasn’t yet open. One patron said the owner might be out because she is having a baby, which is an understandable reason for not opening the store! Looking forward to going back later.

Was excited for a new consignment shop that provides clothes that I like & I can sell my clothes at. Unfortunately it’s a one & done experience. I’ve been consigning clothes for a long time & have never been this disappointed. The store doesn’t have a phone number, the only way of contact is through email & when I did email them I never got a response. So when picking up clothes that haven’t been sold is a pain. It probably was my timing but when I’d drive by the store to pick up my unsold items there was a «be back in 10 min» sign. I didn’t have time to wait. So in the meantime I’m praying that my high-​end clothes aren’t donated before I can get a hold of the store & arrange pick-​up. Lastly I brought in a pair of Manolo Blahnik boots still in the box (I’ve learned people like to buy items with receipt, original packaging, preferably shoes, it shows that you take care of your stuff, increases the value of the product & proves authenticity). The boots didn’t sell, so when I picked them up the owner didn’t have my box… I asked where my box is & she said she can’t keep the boxes because of space. I completely understand this, but she should have told me this when I brought the shoes in! Every other consignment store I’ve been to is clear about what they want & don’t want. I’m going to sell my boots on EBay with no box, which will decrease the value of the sale.

The shop has relocated across the street to a very nice space. The stock has changed too. .. . it’s a lot of special-​event wear now, with the addition of costume jewelry.
Although the small sizes suit me, the new fancy selection doesn’t. Gone are the finds one might wear day-​to-​day. Even the shoes are mostly spiky, high heels. A glance at the images on their website show they envision fashion as fantasy, whereas I’d like something stylish to be worn (instead of posed in).

Beautiful selection, owner and associates, space, and design. I love this place. The size is perfect. The people who work here are very friendly and have great taste. They have a very good idea of how to price things for the consignor and the buyer. I would recommend consigning your things here or buying things! I am so glad I found this lovely spot!

This place is small, but has an impeccable selection of quality clothing in great condition. I’m not a big consignment shopper, and don’t usually find anything that a) I like, b) fits, and c) is in good shape, but here I found a lot of things I wanted to try on and ended up buying two pieces that I love. Amazing! The prices are a bit high, but you can be sure you aren’t getting something that you’ll get home and find isn’t quite as nice as it seemed in the store.

You know a consignment shop is good when a guy does not mind going with his GF even though there are no mens clothes. Natalie does such a good job of curating this jewelbox of a store. She has great taste in merchandising and GF almost always finds something good to take home. Back in the day they had a downtown location and they had men’s clothes there. Natalie, how about us guys???

Exceptional Boutique to Buy & Consign at.
I love Driftwood and Natalie (Owner) this shop has exquisite clothes. I have purchased Prada, Jimmy Choo, Chanel, Marni, True Religion & Louis Vuitton from this store and every piece I COVET! The owner knows her fashion and is so pleasant to shop with. I feel like I have a personal shopper every time I am at her shop.
I have also Consigned a ton of my clothes at Driftwood and feel like I got great prices for my items! I shop at the highest end Consignment Boutiques on the West Coast and must say Driftwood is among the BEST.

I love Driftwood. I recently sorted my closet and took several bags in to be sold. I have never done this before — in the past I have just given my things away or donated them. But I have to say, I’ll be doing a lot more of this because I love to shop here!!! Yesterday I stopped in to see what was new and I walked away with a gorgeous Jimmy Choo handbag! It is in perfect condition and stunning. I would not have been able to afford this at regular retail but wow what a fantastic deal! There is a pair of gorgeous Prada shoes that I so wish I could squeeze my feet into but I guess I’ll just have to keep checking back until something fabulous comes in that will fit my feet — I’m sure it won’t be long! The owner Natalie is a gem :)

This place is amazing — friendly, neat and supremely well-​edited. It is a very small shop so do not anticipate spending hours of your time here. All of their items are reasonably priced considering their quality and location. In other words, it’s always a good deal if you love what you find but don’t expect extreme jaw-​dropping deals as one would find digging in places like Goodwill.
Also, note to shoppers, the downtown location is now non-​existent.

I wish this place wasn’t so far out of Seattle! Going beyond the outskirts of Capitol Hill is like entering in a foreign land for most. Luckily, i work right by this place!
Inside this teeny tiny little shop lies lots of goodies! House of Harlow, Dior shoes, Tory Burch, and other name brand designer pieces. You can tell the items are well chosen and very clean! I had yet to find a stitch out of place on any of the items. That said, you can expect to pay a decent price out of them — significantly lower but still pricey. Beautiful little shop!
I plan to make my return.

At this point, over half my wardrobe is from Driftwood and I feel moved to upgrade them to 5 stars.
Style? Check.
Quality? Check.
Value? Double check.

I have not been to the downtown location. The lady at the Madrona location told me it was somewhere on Seneca downtown. This review is for the Madrona location.
I admit I’ve walked by this place quite a few times without stopping in, but today I popped in before grabbing coffee at Verite. It’s a small space with one very narrow, tiny dressing room in back. But items are reasonably price, and priced accordingly by designer. For instance, this cute Phillip Lim skirt I tried on was $ 89, but the 100% silk Banana Republic top was only $ 8. IMO, both pieces were priced quite fairly and at the right price point. So yay for that!
It’s good that they don’t carry too many items in this location as it would be tough to spend time looking at things. The clothes are not organized by size or style, so you have to look at everything.
The SA said that there tends to be a decent flow of traffic through here on the weekends. She also mentioned that the Madrona location tends to carry higher-​end goods and the downtown location carries more trendy clothing (in Madrona, they’re tailoring the clothing selections to Madrona moms…)

A nice little store with a well-​edited selection of designer clothing. I liked the style of the place (Very New York) and the friendliness of the man in charge (Not very New York), but I can’t say I found much. This is a problem with small second hand stores — the odds are better at the Buffalo Exchange. But I would definitely wander by again on the off chance that I would pull out something since the owner’s taste is very good.
Plus a star for the cool boots in the window that didn’t fit me. Doh!
(This was the downtown location, which has a nice vibe if you don’t mind the drilling from the street)

I went into Driftwood while scouting for a place to consign some of my own items. It is very small with a limited selection of items. All of the items are in excellent condition and brand name. The prices are probably a good deal compared to when they were new, but were still a little high for my taste. Due to the limited selection, I was not able to find anything I like here. It is also kind of strange to shop in such a small space. It made me less able to relax, since I was the only person there besides the shop keeper.
I may go back, but there are a lot of other consignment stores in Seattle that I think I prefer.
