Specialties

DeLaurenti specializes in hard to find culinary ingredients, cheeses, cured meats, olive oil, vinegars, chocolate and wines. DeLaurenti proudly offers wonderful items made by producers from around the world. DeLaurenti also prepares delicous food in its café. Only ingredients from the shop are used to make amazing panini, pizza, salads and award-winning cookies (especially the Chocolate Chip!). DeLaurenti carries over 300 wines from Italy and thousands of others from the Northwest and beyond.

History

Established in 1946.

After the war, Pete DeLaurenti opened a market in the Pike Place Market that catered to the diverse ethnic neighborhoods in Seattle. DeLaurenti Italian & International Foods, Inc. (as it was named then) prided itself on carrying hard to find ingredients and foods from Europe. Pete’s son, Lou, worked for several years at the shop before he purchased the business in 1973, moving it to it’s current location at the entrance to the historic Pike Place Market. Lou continued teh trradition of selling gourmet, rare and delicious foods from throughout Europe. Lou sold the business in 2001 to three local businessmen who remodelled DeLaurenti Food & Wine in 2002 to it’s current configuration. A new café and deli on the first floor and an expansive wine department on the mezzanine level. DeLaurenti Food & Wine remains the non plus ultra of specialty food shops in Seattle by continuing to offer hard to find ingredients, cheeses, meats and wines from around the world.
