I have wanted to have family portraits taken with my 7-​year old daughter for some time now. It was perfect synchronicity that I met Anita and​commissioned her for the session. She made sure our experience was smooth and fun. She advised me how to prepare for the shoot and chose an ideal setting at the perfect time of day. Everyone who sees these photos is touched and impressed. She has a skillful way of capturing the essence of each person. I am planning to commission Anita again soon for more photography projects.

I met Anita many years ago through a colleague of mine. She is a dynamic individual and we got along fabulously from the start. I first hired her to shoot photos of some dried plant material and my herbal teas for my herbal apothecary, Herban Wellness. She had great ideas how to bring out the beauty of these berries, flowers, and leaves, and I loved the results. She shot on an old wooden dock on Lake Washington, and the results were incredible. I had many of the resulting photos blown up and hung in the windows of my shop. I also have several of them decorating my website. Next, I hired her to shoot photos of me teaching a class, as I had no photos to demonstrate this aspect of my business. Once again, the results were really wonderful, as she captured many photos of me teaching in action, of my students, of the product we were making in process. Finally, a couple of months ago, I hired her to shoot professional business portraits for me. She chose a beautiful park and the lighting and colors in the photos were soft and full of nature, which is the only place that would have worked for me! I love the results. One was with my dog Abby, and the other an unclose shot of me. I have never gotten so many complements for a photo! And now I have professional photos I can feel proud of. Anita is professional, very talented at what she does, takes time to listen to what you want and does a great job of capturing the feel you are wanting to convey. I will continue to use Anita Nowacka Photography for my photography needs into the future!

Trying to describe the level of talent and perfection that comes from this photographer is difficult. Anita has incredibly high standards and her ability to capture the true character of her subjects is something to be admired. I am a repeat client of Anita’s. I have hired her for family photo’s, for a business event, and refereed her to my sister for wedding photo’s. She nailed it every time. Each of these instances required wearing different hats and she flourished in all. Whenever photography comes up in conversation, I recommend her. I would go to no one else. I have been a customer for more than 15 years, and I have sent her several friends. She does beautiful work that rises above most other commercial photography. She has something closer to what an artist has, she really understands how to bring out beauty-​not just in people but even in animals! Her work with natural light is some of the best work you will see. The website gives great examples, but seeing her work on the wall, live and in person you really get that she is the best.
Part of being a photographer is knowing angles, fabric, light, spark behind the eyes and then on top of it all a quick reflex and strong level of taste. She has all that, plus technical knowledge and the understanding of what makes a good print. You will be very comfortable with Anita, she really makes people feel at ease. She is also great with kids, and as I mentioned before, animals.

I hired Anita to take new professional headshots for my business and healing practice.
As an alternative healer, it was important to me to find a photographer that understood the essence of my practice and would help to bring it out of me in photo. Anita beyond accomplished this. She took the time to look at my website, get a sense for me, my practice, and my needs for the new headshots. She understood and articulated what I was going for when I couldn’t.
She generously consulted with me before the shoot, answered all my questions regarding clothing, colors to wear and props to bring. The photo shoot was at sunset at Carkeek Park with nature as the backdrop. I felt very comfortable and «in my element», and much of this was due to Anita’s easy, professional, gently coaxing approach.
Anita was on time, very efficient but didn’t rush me. And, the shoot was fun! As promised, the proofs were in my inbox within a few days and I was beyond thrilled with the results. She captured the look my business was going for.

Anita had several photos in the sidewalk window of her studio that caught my eye, so I looked up her website. I really liked what I saw — innovative and distinct photos that brought out the personalities of her clientele. The process of working with Anita was very easy and seamless. She has a special talent for helping you feel relaxed in the photo-​shoot, and the end product is awesome! I worked with Anita to photograph my 18-​month old daughter. Toddlers can be rather willful during photo shoots, and mine was no different. Anita was so patient and understanding. She offered ideas to cheer her up, even acting silly herself. The photos turned out better than I could have imagined.
As a junior photographer myself, I was drawn to Anita’s artistic compositions. She invited me to her studio for a 1:1 meeting, where in an hour’s time I learned more than any weekend photography course I’d previously taken. A couple of years ago, Anita photographed our family after my daughter, a U.S. Marine, had returned from Iraq to be re-​united with her five-​year old son. She captured that precious moment in time when we could all be together. Those images have become a cherished part of our living room wall.
Also, last month Anita updated my business head shot. She chose a time in the evening when the sun was low and colors vibrant. This produced an excellent business portrait that will make a huge difference in my marketing pieces and website.

I’ve never seen someone work as hard as she did during our wedding. My immediate side of the family now includes 17 people with spouses and nieces, plus around 80 guests during the reception. Every time I turned around, Anita was running around corralling some group of people for pictures to make sure nothing was missed. Her equipment is some of the best I’ve ever seen, as is her skill at her craft. My wife and I agree, neither of us will ever hire another photographer if we need formal pictures, Anita is worth every penny. Some of the photos we’ve received back so far have brought both of us close to tears with how well they captured the two of us, both together and individually.
