My husband and I chose Marissa Rick as our wedding photographer based on her outstanding portfolio, the initial connection I felt with her and the video packages she offered /​videographer she works with.
I planned our entire wedding and hired all vendors from Las Vegas, where we live. Marissa was super accommodating with a Skype meeting so we could get to know each other. This really helped me with finalizing our photography vendor decision.
The package we chose included an ice breaker shoot which ended up being like an engagement shoot. This was super helpful in getting to know her shooting style and temperament. Marissa is very outgoing and fun to be around. She made my husband feel super comfortable, which he was worried about, not having spent a lot of time in front of the camera and of course she made me feel comfortable too. The images she took in the ice breaker shoot really captured the essence of our relationship. We get scores of compliments on them.
As for the wedding day Marissa was a gem. We traveled around Seattle doing photos with the wedding party in several locations and Marissa had great suggestions for every shot. I literally just had to be there and look pretty. At the wedding, I know she was constantly there taking pics but I never noticed her taking the pics, which I thinks is good.
I would recommend Marissa to anyone based on the quality of her work, her customer service and personality.

Marissa did a wonderful job, taking an amazing number of photos and gave us digital images which were really easy for us to share with our friends and family. Also, the photo booth was awesome.

Here are a couple of things that made me so happy that we went with MariRick for our newborn photography:
1) Marissa was SO patient. Our baby was being a bit of a stinkerbug and needed to take three nursing breaks during our session. Marissa waited patiently through each one — and the patience paid off because at the very end of the session we got the sleepy newborn pics we had been trying to get the entire time. All in all she was there for over four hours (yikes) but we got the shots we wanted.
2) No extra fee for a Saturday session. Although we ended up going with a weekday, Marissa was one of the few photographers I spoke to who didn’t charge more to take pictures on a Saturday. She also traveled to our house and turned our living room into a studio — nice when you don’t want to travel around with a newborn.
3) She has a great eye for editing — I was so pleased with how our final portraits turned out.
4) She’s quick — she had our photos up for preview that night, and our final edited pics to us within a week.
5) Her prices include a CD that you can use to make as many copies for the grandparents as you would like. Again, a rarity for most photographers around here.
In addition Marissa was just a lot of fun to work with. I would highly recommend getting a package deal — she offers some great ones. I am sure we will be asking Marissa to do our family photos in the future.

I would just go on for hours here but I will keep it short! I had Marissa do our wedding photos! She was a phenomenal! She has an artistic touch about her photos that is amazing! Very pleasant and was nice to work with! Her Husband was there to help our and he was very easy going also (as we were not :) The photos took a while to get back but I guess that is cause she was busy and we were anxious to get them (even though we really have not been looking at them :). She was very reasonably priced, so I guess I can’t complain about a little wait! she did a great job! Could not rec higher!

We heard about Marissa through a friend, and hired her to take photos of our newborn. She showed up on time, and when the natural lighting in the house wasn’t just right, went back out to her car and brought in a full lighting set — our living room looked like a professional studio!
Once we got a first look at the pictures, we immediately purchased a package for 3 more additional sessions. The photos are fun, creative, and high quality.
Marissa is a pleasure to work with. She’s been very flexible in scheduling and location selections, and has worked really well with our son, Ryder. It’s also been a blast to see him featured on her website and in her blog postings.
I’d recommend her for anyone looking to have a little fun with their family, wedding, graducation, or any occasion photos!

We recently hired Marissa Rick to take family pictures of us before the arrival of our second son. I have to say that I was nervous going in to the shoot, because you never know what’s going to happen when you try to get an almost four-​year old boy to cooperate for pictures. Marissa was phenomenal! Despite our son skinning both knees and elbows while running full speed on pavement right at the beginning of our time, which lead to meltdown city, and, not to mention him later deciding that it was time to take his clothes off for fun, Marissa miraculously managed to capture so many beautiful moments. We were impressed with her frazzle-​free creativity throughout the entire process. She is really talented! We plan to use her and recommend her for years to come.

My husband and I were lucky enough to have met Marissa at a Bridal Fair, and instantly felt she is passionate about not only her work, but the people she takes pictures for. Not only that but she has very nice competitive pricing. Marissa kept very close contact with us once we decided she was the photographer we had chosen (no one else came even close). I am not so much a wedding woman, so to me I didn’t think we needed all the extra stuff… engagement photo’s, seeing the bride, etc… I just wanted to get it done. Marissa went ABOVE and beyond for our families and us to make sure that we went the extra mile for all of that. And if we were forgetting something on that special day when it’s a zoo, better believe Marissa is right there to tell ya what to do next. Through all the phone calls, engagement session, pre wedding planning, and day of… Marissa never ONCE seemed like a photographer… granted she was sneakily getting all these amazing shots, but she was just apart of the family and taking great photos. You could just get the vibe of how badly she wanted to help make that day, that much more special and captivate all of the little things when you least expected it. She even had her sweet husband along for the ride to help her and snap some good candid shots too. Totaling a little less than 1500 photos in a matter of 11 hours. I could go on and on about how amazing Marissa is… and MariRickPhotography. But at the end of the day all you have is your memories and the photos, which are the most important part. With the engagement photo’s, it had us EXCITED for our wedding day… turned out beautiful and we had fun and were extremely comfortbale with her. With the wedding day, it left us knowing we will continuously and faithfully be returning to MariRickPhotography for every other special occasion/​professional photo’s we need… not only for the amazing pictures, that we are so grateful she can do her work extremely effortlessly and beautifuly, but she is now a friend that we can lever let go of. We recently had this photographer do senior pictures for our son and the results were amazing. She was able to incorporate his interests into the photos in a way that was both unique and very classy. The next time you need a photographer, give her a call, we know that you will be just as impressed as we were.
