Excellent service! absolutely the best French toast of my life! I got the special which was French toast with fresh peaches on top with a side of eggs. everything was perfect! possibly the most perfect meal I’ve ever had. do yourself a favor and come to Americana for brunch!

There’s a reason why a restaurant with over 600 reviews has a 4 star rating. It’s because it’s damn good.
On the cool factor scale it’s way up there with its riveted steel I beam ceiling décor. It’s Edison replica light bulbs unfinished brick walls and open kitchen cleanliness.
Just walked out of here and am very happy for a super good lunch.
Try the burger, chicken fried steak (amazing) the pear grilled cheese and the cooper hill pinot.
All super delicious. Trust me I know good food when I eat it and this is it.
Plus it’s all very reasonably priced with super friendly servers.

I recently had the most amazing omelette of my life here. You must order the goat cheese and herb omelette, and don’t let yourself not add the smoked salmon! While they do have regular orange mimosas, they also have a selection of more creative choices. I told our server I was worried I wouldn’t like the lavender but that I really wanted to try it, and he told me he’d bring me one and that if I didn’t like it he would bring me an orange one instead. So nice! I ended up liking the lavender, but I think I’ll stick with orange if we go back there.
My girlfriend got the breakfast sandwich with arugula and said it was delicious. It came on really good sourdough bread.
We both enjoyed the atmosphere and the fact that someone came around to refill our water glasses so frequently!
The only slight negative was the long wait (I think we waited for about 30 – 40 minutes), but I anticipated that given that we arrived around 9:30am on a Sunday morning.

This place is fine. I came for breakfast with my family we were seated promptly and received pretty good service. I ordered the avocado and peperjack omelette, which was «meh» at best. There was barely any avocado or cheese, so the majority of the dish was just overcooked egg. I asked how everyone else liked their food and they all just shrugged in unison. The people watching on broadway sort of makes up for the lackluster kitchen.

I came here to have brunch with some girlfriends. One of my girlfriends picked this place actually, so I was excited to try it, since I’ve heard about it before. I love eating brunch food! I could seriously eat it anytime of day.
When I finally was able to find street parking and after walking several blocks to the restaurant, we had to wait about thirty minutes for a table. I guess it’s really popular place in Capitol Hill. I ordered the lavender mimosa and the Seattle Slam. The mimosa was really good (and pretty strong). The Seattle Slam comes with two pancakes, eggs and bacon or sausage. It also came with a slice of grapefruit and an orange slice. Service was okay-​the restaurant was packed and pretty busy.

I saw the reviews and decided to come here for brunch. This place has the best French toast, but every thing else was just alright. They use a really rustic, crunchy and crispy sourdough for the French toast and it came out perfect! If you prefer softer French toasts like brioche or challah bread then this might not be to your liking. The biscuits and gravy was on the specials menu and it was just average. The Americana Benedict is just… Not to my liking. I think I prefer the traditional hollandaise sauce to this red tomatoey sauce.

Great place for brunch in the heart of Capitol Hill on Broadway. Went here on a rainy Sunday just a little bit ago with our two kids. Our service was good, the bloody mary my wife had was spicy but flavorful, and the portions were plentiful. I had the herbed omelette with smoked salmon, which was amazing, while my wife had the equally yummy chorizo, potato and manchego omelet.
It was definitely crowded and we waited about 30 minutes — so be prepared. I also appreciated that they had coffee for you to sip on while you wait, and that because it’s the weekend there’s no problem finding a place to sit and wait in the covered lobby of the building (vs crowding in to the entry of a tiny restaurant).
Note, this is only «kid friendly» in the sense that it’s not just a bar and they won’t kick you out if you have kids. So I felt fine taking our two reasonably well behaved munchkins who have broad palates. Your mileage may vary.

Americana is a solid brunch spot in Cap Hill that offers really great American fare! I came here with a friend after a grueling workout on a Saturday and the wait was only 10 min! Yay.
We shared the Herbed Omelet, Chicken Sausage Scramble, and a ½ order of french toast (mixed berries). We may have been somewhat biased because we were STARVING, but man, everything was so good!
The omelet was perfectly egg-​secuted (#foodpuns) and flavorful — really loved the combination of goat cheese and the caramelized onions. The scramble was awesome too. SO fluffy, like clouds! Both dishes came out with rosemary potatoes and thick, delicious slices of toast. Yum! (P.S. the raspberry jam they offer on the side is amazing!)
The half portion of french toast is a great size to share if you’re in a situation in which you can’t decide between sweet or savory (aka me at every brunch restaurant.) Could’ve used some more berries, but otherwise this was really yummy! Crispy on the outside, but soft and chewy in the middle.
Service was friendly and fast. A+ for constantly refilled drip coffee. Would love to come back to try lunch/​dinner!
Parking is paid street, as per usual in Cap Hill. (Free on Sundays though!)

I mean… I thought *brunch* was good, but dinner? Wow. Americana continues to blow it out of the water. I almost don’t want to leave a review again, because I don’t want anyone to crowd this place when I need my fix.
That being said, this is a staple visit for my in-​laws, and a favorite dinner for us. And brunch. And lunch. Everything is so good, damn.
The servers are super sweet folks too. Even when I had to send a drink back (their lavender lemonade could use some work, but their cocktails are amazing!) they were so, so kind and generous. I feel awkward sending anything back, and I almost never do, so handling it with grace made me feel a lot more comfortable in getting something else that I did truly enjoy.
A+ staff, A+ service, exemplary food.

Based on my experience today, this place is exactly what Unilocal means by ³⁄₅ — A-​OK. But I feel kinda guilty for not giving it something high because the service was friendly and helpful and because the ingredients seem to be of good quality. It’s just that what I had to eat wasn’t life changing. It was just fine.
I went with the Chorizo Potato Manchego Omelette. It was certainly a large omelette and came with a large bed of greens. The chorizo had decent flavor. But the eggs themselves were under-​seasoned for my tastes and I also wouldn’t preferred more cheese.
I tried some of hubbies potatoes (they came with his Avocado Pepperjack Omelette) and while they had great texture, they were also under seasoned. Hhhmmmm.

Great spot for brunch! I got the Americana Benedict and it was different because there’s no hollandaise sauce, but there’s a great mushroom and tomato sauce. The poached eggs are also over potato pancakes were by far the best part of the meal for me, soooo good! I’ll be back at this spot for sure to try their other meals. I rated down one star because the service wasn’t very attentive the farther down the meal we got but started out great.

Excellent French Toast, topping option of the day was blueberries, what a terrific breakfast.
Their coffee and Canadian Bacon was very good, too.
Lots of menu options, too.
Came here on a Monday morning, no wait, immediately sat ourselves.

Such an amazing brunch spot w/​a lively atmosphere! It’s pretty hidden & took me a while to find but I’m glad I did. It’s located right across from Tea Republik.

IRISH OATMEAL: I got this with fruit on the side instead of the toast that it was suppose to come with. The fruit was really fresh & the amount of oatmeal given was generous. The oatmeal is topped with fresh bananas & served with brown sugar on the side. It was soaked in the right amount of milk & wasn’t too soft or hard.
FRENCH TOAST: If you come here you have to get their French toast! The fruits they top the French toast with is seasonal I believe so the fruit we got were roasted apples. It was sooooo delicious. Their French toast is really crispy & is even good without the syrup; let’s be real you have to add a little syrup for that extra sweetness though to really enjoy what their French toast has to offer.

CORN BEEF HASH: The size of this thing was ridiculously big! It was worth $ 11. It came with vegetables, proteins, & veggies all scrambled together in a mixture of eggs. She really enjoyed this. It wasn’t oily at all.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: They were really friendly, quick, and welcoming!
Overall, you MUST try this place!

I came here on a weekday wanting to get brunch with a friend. Luckily, Americana does brunch everyday!
We both ordered the Seattle Slam and substitute the pancakes with french toast (does cost more). I am so glad I did! The french toast was probably one of the best I ever tasted. The toast was thick and crunchy while the inside was soft. The dish also comes with two eggs, fruit, and choice of either chicken sausage or bacon. It pretty much had everything that I wanted in a breakfast. I also like how they have these spicy sauces on each table. It added additional heat to my eggs as I dump the sauce over my scrambled eggs. Delicious!
Service was great, our waters were always filled and our waiter checked up on us. I would return.

I very much enjoyed this place. I came because my friend Eric Dyer had his awesome art up for exhibition.
And besides the awesome art, we where pleasantly surprised by the food, at the beginning it seemed a bit pricey but really after the out of the ordinary menu selection. We loved our food, and the spicy sauces made in the house where soooo exquisite. Finally for once a place that puts some art in their food and sauce.

I loved loved loved this place! Perfect if you are trying to find gluten free options and organic grass fed meat. However, just enough tempting items to keep everyone happy! I had the cornbeef hash with poached eggs on top. Delicious.

Best brunch ever, suggest getting there early to get on the list. This place lives up to the hype, service is always amazing.
The Broadway is my go to meal

Being a breakfast lover this is the place to visit after any long night. A slight twist on the unique staples such as Eggs Benedict and french toast. Their omelets were perfectly cooked and this place hits the spot when it comes to good ol’ home cookin’. Not a bite left on our plates. Thanks Americana for keeping it 100.

I finally walked past this place when there was no line. We got seated fairly quickly, and the service was good throughout our meal. Honestly, go here to try one thing – their french toast with berry compote. This was hands down the best french toast I have ever had!!! I’m sure everything else on the menu is great as well, but I don’t see myself ever trying anything else when I’ve had the best!

Boozy milkshakes!!! Yay! They also have truffle popcorn to snack on while you wait for your food. The BF and I were here one night to have some dinner and we ordered the French onion Mac n Cheese, the corn dogs, and the enchiladas. All of which were pretty good. Thought the thing that really got us wanting to come back were the boozy milkshakes! I got the Bourbon Maple and my BF got the Brown Sugar Cinnamon. YUM! I’m not a huge fan of sweets, but these were really delicious. We’ll be back!

If you are a lover of egg’s bennedict, this is not the place to go. Although the description does say that this is a twist on egg’s benn, it really means that it lost all essence of the EB aside from the poached egg.
1. The egg was overcoocked and not runny at all
2. The foundation was a mashed potatoe rather than a biscuit — it did come with really nice grilled baguette, but after you put your tomatoe sauce and poached egg on a baguette it no longer felt or taste like EB
3. There was no ham — it was cut up in tiny pieces and mixed with the potatoes, I couldn’t taste any at all! It felt like a vegetarian dish.
4. And the most important part of an EB is the hollaindais sauce which was replaced with a tomatoe sauce. Overall this should be called something else, because it lost all aspects of the original bennedict, even a twist should know this.
The special Biscuit and Gravy was also disappointing.

Finally got to eat here! A group of nine of us had brunch at Americana for a friend’s birthday, after wanting to try this place for some time! We thankfully got in before 10am, so we were seated promptly upon arriving. It got really busy after we arrived, so I’d definitely anticipate a wait if you plan to eat a later brunch! Our server was very warm and welcoming, read us their specials.
Between all of us flipping through Unilocal reviews and consulting our friends — I opted for the Maple Glazed Pork Belly with scallion pancake. If that wasn’t the most delicious pork belly cut then I don’t know what is. Honey lined the plate at the bottom and the perfectly cooked scrambled eggs put this dish on the top. All the flavors really went together nicely, and makes me appreciate the pork belly even more.
I’ll definitely be back in the future!

Brunch! I LOVE BRUNCH!
We arrived around 10am and there was a short wait. My first tip is to get here right when it opens around 9am so you don’t have to wait. A little after we arrive, the wait list got even longer, 4 – 5 more groups came. I like that they provide coffee while you wait in the hallway, good job Americana.
First, the coffee is amazing. I don’t know where they get their beans from but it taste amazing. We picked 2 of the 3 specials for the day.
1) French toast with poached pears– AMAZING. Crispy french toast topped with those pears was a perfect blend of sweetness. The real maple syrup was the cherry on top to a wonderful meal.
2) Eggs in a basket with wild mushroom gravy– THE EGG IS IN THE TOAST. Woah! I mean she told us the eggs were in the toast but it was so cool to see it. Gravy was vegetarian and so so delicious. It was just as amazing as the french toast so I’m super happy to get to try it.
3) Side of scrambled egg– cooked to perfection no doubt.
Great atmosphere, you can get drinks, I wish I had known about the milkshakes because I would have ordered one. Definitely a place to try but get there early or you’ll be waiting; I think it’s worth the wait though.

Delicious food that has whole in the wall vibe. Every option is stepped up a notch such as duck gnocchi and zucchini fries. All taste fresh and is a sensory overload of goodness. The downside to these fancy helpings is the bar vibe. It looks like a neighborhood bar. You have to walk outside to go to the restroom — the route to restroom is a little scary. Bring a jacket because the restroom is not headed. Taking out the ambience factor, the cocktails are strong and unique while the food taste yummy. This place is a great place for 1 – 6 people.

This is a definite go-​to brunch spot! The reviews are legit, and I’m surprised there’s not more hype surrounding the brunch here. Not only is food amazing, but the service was just as exceptional if not better. The ambiance is pretty hipster yet it has that comfortable saloon feel to it and not at all pretentious. It’s small, yet intimate. Possibly a good date spot or even just to get drinks.
I wanted a good brunch in Seattle and most eateries on a weekend tend to have long waits and lines. I was almost discouraged to hear that the wait here was 20 minutes because I needed to catch a bus up north and only had 1 h 15 minutes to wait, eat, and pay. The host said the food came out quickly, so we decided to wait. Totally worth the wait! We got Sat within 5 – 10 minutes, the server, Carolyn, was made aware we were in a rush so she came over quickly and took our orders within a minute of us being Sat, and our food only took about 10 – 15 minutes to come out.
I ordered the Seattle Slam ($ 12), which came with 2 pancakes, eggs, and your choice of meat (chicken sausage, bacon, or pork sausage). There was also the option to substitute the pancakes for French toast for $ 3, which I opted into. And I also requested egg whites for $ 1 surcharge. The French toast comes with a fruit of the day, and on this day it came with a banana compote. I’m in! My friend ordred the chicken fried steak. This is how bomb the food was: we devoured it all within 5 minutes. My friend said it was the best chicken fried steak he ever had and gave me a taste. I more than agreed with him! The taste and texture all came together very well. It was almost crispy and moist in the best way possible. I was equally impressed with the French toast. It was battered and crispy. It was the most unique French toast I ever had. I gave my friend a taste, and he liked it better than the banana fosters French toast at Portage Bay Café, and those have to be some of the best French toast I ever feasted my mouth on. Get the French toast here. You’ll be in for a nice surprise! Your taste buds will thank me later. They even flavored my egg whites.
Carolyn was on top of everything and even let us pay early, so we could run out to catch the bus if we needed to. Her service was professional, sweet, and very friendly. In fact, the whole staff here deserves props. I’ve worked in restaurants my whole teens and a good chunk of my 20’s, and I could tell there was some real teamwork going on here. They communicate with each other very well. As a result, this was one of the best brunch spots I’ve eaten at in Seattle for sure! And I used to be a resident, so that’s a former local’s recommendation you’re hearing!

I was visiting from LA for a conference and decided to get breakfast with a few friends and luckily we found this place in Unilocal.
Not quite sure what exactly it is about this place but it has a feel to it. They serve the most amazing French toast I’ve ever had! The costumer service is beyond amazing.
Most amazing coffee!
After going there once I understood why there was such a long line to get it. I made my friends return to get breakfast here one last time before heading back.

I chose this place for my birthday this year, and it did not disappoint.
This place is small — cozy — and there was a wait. We were sat at a little table for 2. Our waitress checked my ID, noticed it was my birthday, and showed up with our cocktails not too long after. She gave me a nice little bump on my cocktail for my birthday! How thoughtful.
I inquired about the macaroni and cheese I’d seen pictures of… and the chefs made it for me even though they didn’t serve it during brunch.
The food was so good — the mac n cheese was probably some of the best I’ve ever had (I’m a connoisseur). The service was great.
They made my birthday so special, and it was a wonderful start to my day. I will highly recommend this place.

If you’re in the area and feening for some brunch, then Americana is the way to go. Although I’ve only been here once (will not be my last), I can securely say that thee staff, food and the cute, cozy atmosphere makes this place one of my favorite brunch spots thus far.
They have a pretty good brunch selection and offers rotating specials each day. I went with a girlfriend and (of course) there was a wait. Luckily, our wait time wasn’t too long and right as we got seated, our server assisted us right away. He was friendly and patient with all our (annoying) questions. I ordered ‘The East Coast’ which includes a thick piece of grilled toast with cream cheese, topped with scrambled eggs and smoke salmon! My order also came with a side of potatoes, which I wish they offered crispy hash browns *sad face* But other than that, everything was g double O d.

I didn’t like this place as much as others seem to, which makes me think I ordered the wrong thing.
I came here on a Sunday alone, and was able to be seated within 5 minutes. Service was prompt and friendly, and there were lots of daily specials that sounded delicious.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t super impressed by the food. I had a chicken sausage and egg scramble, and the flavor combination was a bit weird and the eggs were just okay. It came with potatoes, which were fine but a bit boring. The sourdough bread for the toast was good.
I also had a lavender mimosa, which I liked.
I’d give this place another shot, but I’d order something different.

Came here for brunch Saturday morning. I tried to call ahead to see if we could make reservations for brunch but they only do dinner reservations. We arrived around 10:45am and luckily did not have to wait too long, maybe around 20 minutes or so? I’m sure we just got lucky with the short wait so I would recommend coming as early as you can.
We got seated and asked for our drink orders pretty quickly. We ordered the French toast and chicken fried steak. The food took a while to arrive but the restaurant was pretty busy.
Both dishes were really good! The French toast was light and fluffy inside but sweet and crispy on the outside. And it came with real maple syrup and blue berries on top. The chicken fried steak was also very delicious and cooked perfectly with the sausage gravy poured on top. I would definitely come back!

I feel like brunch foods can sometimes all become a blur when you eat brunch frequently but at different locations. There are the classics like your eggs Benedicts, country fried steak, biscuits and gravy, etc. and you can only remember the dishes that were executed either really well or unique in some way. We tried Americana for a late brunch and surprisingly did not have to wait at all! Here’s how it went down:
1. Maple glazed pork belly. Zomg you gotta try this if you’re anything like me and my boyfriend you’ll love it! The pork belly itself is to die for perfect! Super crispy on the one side and so soft and melt in your mouth on the other! The corn pancake was a nice touch. It’s gritty, and held together with mozzarella and it gives a different textural element you don’t expect from your normal flapjack. And they dress up your scramble eggs with scallions which I love! And of course a punch of sweetness from the maple glaze that coats the bottom of the plate! Overall, just a beautifully made plate if you appreciate simple yet complex flavors.
2. Americana Benedict. Poached eggs, potato cakes, smoked Gouda (my favorite), Canadian bacon, with a creamy tomato mushroom sauce is how they describe it. I’m a sucker for eggs, potatoes, and mushrooms so this sounded like a winner to me. I loved the potato cake idea in place of the English muffin but the potato cakes were cold and got lost in what was more of a marina/​spaghetti sauce and the eggs came out more soft boiled than anything and I love bennys because of the runny yolks you can use as sauce! So I had them remake them which they were pretty nice about. Maybe I caught this dish on an off day but I could live without this.
3. French toast! Just yes! I’m not normally that person that can stuff themselves but always have room for something sweet but their French toast is the TRUTH! The bread was so crunchy, the seasonal berries added a needed tartness and the syrup was awesome! Just soooo delicious!
4. Pineapple mimosa was okay. Sounded better than it tasted.
Overall, a pretty good experience, we’ll be back to try other things and especially back for that pork belly my boyfriend can’t stop talking about lol

Great brunch spot on Cap Hill, ideal for people watching if you can get one of the few outdoor tables. The long and short of it:
1. Herbed Omelette with Salmon. Get this. Get 2 of these. Get 3 of these and mail me one (I live close, the postage will be cheap). This is a seriously good omelette my love of smoked salmon aside. It’s pricy but well worth it, better than the East Coast which is 3^rd on my list (2^nd is the Benedict).
2. Bread. They use Macrina Bakery bread, spall of their bread stuffs are delicious. I rarely get so excited for toast (this is a lie… I often get really excited for toast).
3. Brunch drinks. My girlfriend had the elderflower mimosa, I had a regular mimosa. While both good, I couldn’t tell the difference between the 2. I followed it up with a Bloody Mary that while it wasn’t the best if ever had, it was decent and the spicy ness was perfect.
4. Wait. Americana is a popular place (especially for brunch) on a busy street and it’s not that big, you’ll end up waiting for a table more often then not. If the waits 45-​an hour, I might bail for another place on Broadway, but usually I’d stick it out.
A very solid spot for brunch/​lunch, I’ll be back many times. Add it to the brunch list.

If you know where Tacos Chukis is at, then its in the same building but on the ground floor. Anyways, came here for a late brunch/​lunch, We weren’t really feeling breakfast-​y so we stuck with the lunch items on the menu. Good looking menu, a lot of options for brunch, nice looking pancake selections, good looking salads and sandwiches too.
Since it was more of a lunch day… we decided to get the Bread Salad: tasty salad with grilled bread chunks, fresh mozz, with a bunch of greens and a delicious balsamic vinaigrette. Freshly put together and would get this again. Perfect amount of dressing and tossed ever so lightly so the bread doesnt get all soggy.
We also got the Grilled Chicken Sandwich: Toasted buttery bread with roasted red peppers and pesto, a good amount of chicken, melty cheese served with sweet potato fries. Pretty tasty!!!
Both the salad and sandwich were of good size, plenty for us to split so we can have a little of both.
Service was fine, it wasnt busy in there at all so we got a lot of attention. Staff was friendly to chat with as well. The restaurant itself is pretty medium size so I dont think it’s good for large groups. People watching on Broadway is awesome so you should try and sit at the tables near the window or outside patio.
Overall, we enjoyed our lunch, a place I would come back to!

Wow. For being such an egg snob– they had the best fresh eggs I’ve ever had. Not sure if they feed their chickens crack or what, but I couldn’t get enough. I ordered the chicken fried steak with scrambled eggs. The steak was very flavorful and not super heavy or thick like other places. Absolutely perfect for breakfast. My husband for the corned beef hash which he absolutely loved. The atmosphere is warm and inviting — but be prepared to wait a few minutes for a table– definitely worth it.
I finished all my food– that’s truly saying something. Thank you Americana.
