If I could give it 0 stars I would. Don’t count on your experience to get placed with a family. Unless you are in perfect shape. Wear nice clothes, drive a «safe» car and live in a «good» neighborhood don’t expect to get a call back. This is without a doubt the most unprofessional nanny agency I have ever applied for. You see families rating this saying the nanny was terrible with their kids well what are they expecting! STAY AWAY!

When I called A Nanny For U about a job inquiry they were so sweet and helpful! They were so easy to talk to and they made me excited about their job opportunities. I talked to Krissy and Jenny, both were so warm and friendly. They genuinely wanted to help me find the perfect family that I could be a part of! Something that stuck out even more was that they gave me tips and pointers for talking and interviewing with families to help set me up for success. I’m happy that I reached out to A Nanny For U and I think that they would be a great company to work for.

I have been working for ANFU for a year now and have really loved them as an employer. They have placed me in full time placement and in temp placement. When things did not work out with my full time placement they supported me and gave me wonderful guidance through the event. (The family hired me for a year but backed out 6 months in, fully knowing this in advance) I had moved to Seattle from Portland to take this job and was completely panicked, when it fell through. The agency stood by me and gave me work in the temp department which is wonderful and super fun. Once I got a new permanent nanny position they continued to fill me scheduled time with temp work allowing me to make extra cash and grow my experience. I adore this company.
I’m so sorry and honestly shocked that people have had bad experiences with their nannies from here, I can assure you I am a highly qualified nanny and will take care of your children as if they were my own. I was interviewed twice and have been to hundreds of families homes.
I support ANFU and the people who work there because they have shown me support.

This agency is a miss for back up care. My first nanny was great, and I used her six times, the next two nannies I had didn’t seem to know how to engage my child. When she had separation anxiety and they didn’t/couldn’t/wouldn’t put any energy into interacting/​distracting her. The nannies seem to have no training and no structure and their turnover is extremely high. They also seem incredibly unsupervised. I would not have trusted the second nanny alone with my child. We questioned if she was on drugs (and this is the nanny who the owner had given me a personal recommendation regarding but when I called back to complain the woman at the front desk said «oh yeah, we are having problems with her»). Also, the third nanny was an hour and 15 minutes late after she typed my address in wrong and submitted an incorrect time sheet causing me to be overcharged. The final straw was that the owner was incredibly rude and hostile when I called to let her know the time sheet was inaccurate, asking me «what do you want me to do about it?». Definitely not going back.

I have been working as a nanny/​household manager through A Nanny For U for the past 4 years. I have never worked for a company that is more invested in their clients and employees.
The staff at A Nanny For U are extremely organized, communicative, and compassionate. As a nanny, I am very grateful knowing that I am going into a safe and inviting home where I am appreciated for my work. This is a company that models positive recognition for the work you do and that helps me go to work everyday thankful for the job I have. ANFU is great!!! I started working with them almost two years ago. At the time they placed me in a full time position. Along with my full time position I work in their temporary department. If you would like a nanny who is a «glorified babysitter» and would like your child to be their training wheels then definitely call this company. It’ll cost you $ 25 a day, and $ 250 to register and they’ll send one right over. They recruit from college campuses and just out around Seattle. Anyone fresh off the sidewalk without a criminal history could be in your home today!

We used A Nanny For U to find a permanent, full-​time nanny. We did hire someone, and it ended up being a terrible fit. Based on the nanny’s report to the agency about how the fit didn’t work for her, ANFU determined the placement didn’t work because of us. They then shockingly refused to honor their warranty (a new nanny search or return of fee) without so much as checking with our side of the story. Long story short, we had to fight hard to get our money back, and we used a different agency to then find a very successful nanny replacement.
This was a heartbreaking experience that hurt my family, costing us time, money, and reliable, compassionate care for our children. The staff who seemed so eager and thoughtful before they had our fee were judgmental and unresponsive once there was a major problem but the check had already been cashed.

Our family has used A Nanny for U for their temporary nanny service for two and a half years and I have been extremely satisfied with the service. We have been very fortunate to have the same two nannies most of the time and they are fantastic, however over the course of our time with the service, we have had a lot of different nannies work with us. And through all of our experience I have been so impressed with the nannies, they are honest with high integrity and great work ethics. All of the nannies bring creativity and an energy that I have not found from the other sitters I have used. The service has found people that truly enjoy working with children; it is more than a «job» for them because they go above and beyond to engage and be inventive. Plus they follow our house rules and the schedule and leave the house in a clean and orderly manner.
I have also called the service hours before I needed care and was able to get a nanny booked. This is just the best thing ever and something that is so rare and treasure able. I love working with the service because it puts my mind to ease. I know that the nanny will arrive on time and they will have a great day. It is nice having the trust and reassurance that A Nanny for U brings. I highly recommend them and will use them for years to come.

As an update, as we have been interviewing other nannies and speaking with other agencies we have now come to find out that this particular agency is actually well known for the kind of unethical behavior we saw from them. Specifically, multiple nannies have mentioned that they were poorly treated by this agencies as an «employer» and other agencies (admittedly competitors) have mentioned that the agency has a reputation for ruthless behavior regarding their clients and the placement fees.
Suspiciously Unilocal has placed my review in the «not recommended» semi-​hidden area along with pretty much every other negative review for this agency, but anyone looking there will see a lot of very similar comments, which all add up to the same warning: if you don’t want to end up having to use a lawyer to get your placement fee back, as we are having to do, don’t engage this agency.

We first «met» ANFU over five years ago through my husband’s work’s back-​up care program. We were always impressed by professionalism and care shown by the nannies who showed up at our door to take care of our son when our regularly scheduled childcare wasn’t available or if he had a cold and couldn’t go to school. Through this program, we also encountered other local childcare agencies, but ANFU always stood out.
After our second child was born, about 3.5 years ago, we decided to sign up with ANFU’s temporary childcare option (not a long-​term nanny) for date nights or any other times when we needed childcare. The ANFU admin team does a great job in keeping track of who has been with our boys and tries incredibly hard to meet our requests about having certain individuals returning.
The amount of creativity, playfulness and care shown by the ladies (and guys!) are — well, simply said — incredibly awesome. They’ve all been amazing entertainers and educators for our boys. There’s one who always researches different types of paper airplanes before returning to our house so he can make them with our older son while the younger one naps. There’s also the one who helped the boys build a volcano in the backyard, complete with having it «explode» with a baking soda mixture (and not to worry, everything was cleaned up afterwards). We had one individual who created forts with special «zoos» in it for stuffed animals while it was pouring down rain — which entertained the boys for hours! The boys always look forward to having these caregivers come to our home. And as a bonus, if we request it, the caregivers would send us texts and pictures so we could see all the fun and get updates.
As for any hiccups with any of the temp-​care nannies — we haven’t run into any issues over the years; however I have no doubt if I were to raise a concern to ANFU they would immediately look into it/​take care of it. Since signing up, we’ve come to truly respect the service and quality of the ANFU admin team as well as their hiring and placement process. Their hiring checklist is probably far more detailed then I could ever imagine and the high-​level standards they hold shows by the quality of those who walk through our door. The admin team takes the job of finding the top-​tier individuals to watch our children very seriously. I’m so deeply grateful they’ve become a trusted partner in helping us raise our boys.

We used A Nanny for U for full-​time nanny hire of our first (and only thus far!) nanny. We have also used the temporary service. Jenene and her team made the whole hiring process easy for us, walked us through the various steps, and has continued support us throughout the engagement after the initial introductions were done. She pre-​screened applicants and we hired the second person we met — it has gone very well and only highly qualified applicants were presented to us. We have used the temp service on several occasions and they have been timely and professional as well.
For the full-​time nanny placement service it is well-​worth the cost.

We have been so well cared for by A Nanny for U. Their services have provided us both a long-​term nanny/​household manager and excellent help with any temporary coverage we have needed in the absence of our permanent nanny. After hiring several people on my own and feeling both that (1) I was not finding the quality of help we wanted; and (2) I didn’t have the time to look, we came to ANFU. It was a name I knew and trusted. Jenene was impeccably professional from moment one. She anticipated my questions and concerns, immediately identified our needs, and made me feel very comfortable and reassured throughout the process. We have been so happy with our new nanny; I couldn’t praise ANFU or our nanny enough! She has been such an important addition to our family, and has made our lives — which at times are so full as to feel unmanageable — feel more manageable and as a result, more enjoyable. Further, ANFU was able to organize quick and efficient temporary coverage while our current nanny was on vacation, and Taryn was so communicative and prompt booking for us that I never had to think twice about being taken care of! The temporary nannies have proven to be a cut above the rest as well. I think of the hours I saved trying to find temporary care for one week, as well as how much better the temporary nannies were than anyone I’d been able to find on my own. That’s priceless. I’ll use ANFU for any care needs I have going forward, and have referred them to my friends many times already.

I have received some of the kindest, most caring nannies through this agency. We use the temporary placement option, and they strive to match you with the same nanny as much as possible. All the nannies have been professional and on time. We were very pleased and continue to use them several times a month.

Unbelievable. I made a reservation with their website, and I never received confirmation. If they are going to provide service requests through their site, they should make sure they work.

Such a bad agency, do not work with them. I was trying to get an interview with them, I had one all set up and ended up getting called for a job that same that. I called and tried to explain to them and they told me «sorry you cancel and thats it» I tried calling back a second time and they hardly would even talk to me. WHATEVER. Not sure who they think they are. Annie’s nannies is much better! Give them your business.

I looked over the other reviews and I realized that none of them are from the perspective of someone who used their core service: nanny placement. My wife and I had used A Nanny For U’s backup care service and when we started looking for a new nanny we went to A Nanny For U first.
Every part of the experience was wonderful. We worked with Jenene who was amazing. She was so caring and interested in our situation and really seemed to want to get to know us as people to help us find the right nanny. This could have easily been a quick, cursory interview but she asked probing questions (some of them difficult) to get to the root of the nanny that we needed, not just what we thought we wanted. The owner, Rebecca, even helped us with the details of our placement and she was fantastic as well.
They set the expectation that they’d only bring us a couple of potential nannies to speak with. I was surprised by that as I’d assumed we’d go through a ton of interviews but their point is that it’s THEIR job to find the best possible nanny for us. We only spoke to 2 candidates and settled quickly on one of them.
Our new nanny has been with us for about 2 months now and is more than we could have asked for. We would never have found someone of her caliber on Craigslist or
without a ton of time and energy expended by us… assuming someone as good as her was on those sites at all.
Look: if you’re reading this you’re considering using them to help you find a nanny. That means you care deeply about your kids, you’re very busy and you’re thinking that maybe you should let the professionals do their thing. You know what… you’re right. Call them.

Earlier this year I went to A Nanny for U to have them find me a great family to nanny for. The ladies at A Nanny for U were very welcoming, supportive, and all around sweet. My interview was fantastic, it was like visiting with a good friend not an interview. They were super fast to find me families to meet and they found families that were specific to my needs. They checked in on my progress, called to see how interviews went, and were just there if I needed help or guidance.
Unfortunately the family I had been working with decided to have me stay another year on as their nanny so I did not get placed through A Nanny For U. When I called to let me know that I was going to stay at my current job they were very understanding and were not upset with my decision. I think that says a lot!
I would recommend them to any career nanny. They will find you a perfect family!

Last year I contacted this agency looking for a nanny job. I have worked as a professional nanny in the past and this particular agency always seems to have several jobs available, so I thought that working through them might be good for me.
I was very put off by the conversation I had with one of the workers there. I have excellent experience, education, etc, but when I told her what kind of car that I drive (an older Geo Prizm) she said «Oh, so great for a ‘green’ family but not so great for a family worried about safety!» Excuse me? I asked. I have transported children in my car before and never really had a problem (it’s a PRIZM, not a Metro) and let her know that. She said something about how her husband works for a car company and how those cars are incredibly unsafe.
Granted, it wasn’t the worst comment in the world, but the way that she stated it was rude enough so that I never followed up. And neither did she! Whatever. I believe that I am a great candidate to work with, and definitely could’ve worked around the car thing if it did, in fact prove to be a problem. I decided to not go through this agency. There are far friendlier ones out there.

Each nanny (well, babysitter, as we’ve only had them for 4 – 7 hours) that has worked for us from this company has been very good to just about excellent. They have all been screened, trained & trustworthy. And they’ve been great with my kids. I’ve been very impressed with the nannies, more than those I’ve met who have worked for other companies.
