Beach Books is primarily a new bookstore, with some used books, cards, puzzles, games and related book items.

History

Established in 2005.

After my daughter, my second child, graduated high school I was still working with my husband in his artistic blacksmith business. I soon realized that it was time to get out of «boys club» and get back to what I truly loved — books and people. It has been a terrific 5 years. I only wish I had started sooner.

I graduated University of Oregon in Journalism, received a second degree from Portland State and sent both kids (and our money) to Oregon State University. So, I’m a Duck, Beaver and Viking fan. I have been an advertising account executive, a television promotion manager and sales person, a substitute teacher, a photographer’s representative, a faux finisher and now what I love the most, a bookseller.

I really like this book shop. I like the cat too, he’s a lazy, sleepy old boy (or girl, I can’t remember.)
We go to this shop whenever we are in town, and they always have the latest new books and some we have never heard of.
The book selection is very good for a small local store, with a very nice variety of all types of books for any taste. You will also find art prints and other fun things.
The owner is helpful and personable. She clearly knows a lot about books.

This is one of my favorite book stores! The staff is very friendly and helpful. If they don’t have something you are looking for they will gladly order. Nice variety of books and subjects. Plus rewards to frequent buyers! Very happy atmosphere!

Sweet little bookstore with a nice local selection, a half door for the house car, and a smart selection of history and fiction and more. The staff hangs review tags from their favorite books, so there is plenty if guidance re: what to read next.

If Amazon punches you in the face (or, more aptly, gives you the cold shoulder), this bookstore wraps you in a warm hug. The cat sleeping on the window seat, friendly and non-​pushy service, and lovingly written book recommendations scattered through the store make this a must-​visit. You can tell the place is extremely carefully curated. If you love books, you’ll love it.

Karen, the owner has done a fabulous job with her new location.
One advantage of an indie book store in a small town is personal service. I was in Beach Books a couple weeks ago and Karen recommended a book, it is not the first time she has done so. She knows her customers and she hit it out of the park with her recommendation.
E-​books have their place, but if you are looking for a beach book, something that you can hold onto, this is the place.

Impressive little indie book shop. Very well organized with a nice and eclectic selection of titles that will appeal to your every mood. Of course, Oz the Cat is the real reason that we go. He is so awesome and at peace on his couch perch in the front window. Be sure to give him some «kitty loves» when you visit.
Support your indie book sellers!!! The shop owner Karen is kind, knowledgeable, and offers great recommendations when you are indecisive. She also has a nice email list and hosts author meet and greets, lunches, and more. Beach Books does it right!

Very clean.
A friendly lady was helpful when I was searching for a book with my daughter.
The gigantic pet cat was lounging on a stool in the front window and was quite friendly. This bookstore did not offer used books, but that’s okay because we were looking for a fairly new release.
I’ll be back!
