Moveaholics

This was my first time using a moving service, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I needed to keep costs low, so I packed the majority of my belongings in boxes in advance, then hired a moving service to supply the truck and supplies, and to do the loading/​unloading. I needed to move out of a third floor, one-​bedroom apartment in North Scottsdale, and into a second floor apartment 6 miles away. In total I had around 15 large boxes, three large tubs full of tools, a toolbox, two office chairs, two area rugs, two nightstands, floor lamps, a bicycle, a tv, a heavy 6 drawer dresser, large L-​shaped desk, coffee table, king size mattress, headboard and bed frame. Daniel, Lyle, and Lynn arrived on time and got to work right away. They finished the job within 2 hours, and even made it look easy! Thank you guys!

Showed up on time and very efficient! Guys were very respectful and knew what they were doing.

This is an update to my initial 5 star review, which was given after using this company’s services on 2 occasions to move 1 item each time.
Since then, I have used them for 2 full moves and the experience has been rocky on the 1^st full move and a complete disaster on the 2^nd move. I will no longer use this company even if I have to pay more somewhere else.
On the 1^st full move, I was told there was another customer who had he same name as me and that is why they did not show up at the appointed time, even though it had been scheduled a few weeks earlier. The owner was able to get 2 guys to show up 6 – 7 hours later. They rushed on both ends, almost destroyed my big screen plasma and were arrogant about it. They forgot the glass shelves in my high end entertainment center, thank God they did not break. However, one of the doors on it does not close as it used to. One of my neighbors at the pickup location had managed a moving crew for 12 years and he was appalled at how they were handling themselves.
The second full move: one of the 2 guys was very unprofessional and lazy. He dropped things while moving them and could not care less. I had to insist a leather recliner be taken apart before being moved out. He handled it like a piece of garbage, showing no respect and being annoyed at my emphasis he actually work hard for his money.
There was a discrepancy between the number of items I had given them and the ones they actually had to move. It was not much but I did contact the owner and we agreed on a new quote. I paid the new price and gave a good tip. At the dropout location, I asked the guys to put mostly everything in the living area. I asked them to move a dresser and a hospital bed in one of the bedrooms. They put the hospital bed together wrong.
The lazy guy lied about the owner and asked for a cash tip. He made derogatory comments towards my wife (she told me after they left, otherwise there would not have been any tip given).
I contacted the owner and he refunded some of the tip and said he would replace the picture frame. I sent 2 emails and then he replied stating I was dishonest and they were not prepared for the extra items they had to move. He offered a replacement frame from their thrift store, I offered him to buy the damaged fame for the amount I paid for it. We’ll see what happens.
I can no longer recommend this company. If all you care about is price or moving one item, they are an option and I would have normally kept them as an alternative. Being called dishonest ended any possibility of that. It has also brought the rating to 1 star.
The owner is not the nice guy I thought he was and he seems to project his failures onto his customers. He is confrontational, makes excuses and cannot help himself to lecture you when he should just apologize and move on. He keeps saying he trains his staff when something happens! Give me a break, this is not rocket science, just fire people and get others who actually care about the customers and their property.
The owner has responded below and as usual he is making excuses and trying to be right all the time. He still owes me for a damaged frame he said he would cover. There are lies in his response. This could have been so easily resolved had he exercised poise and true concern for a repeat customer. The other 1 star review is right on the money. Stay away from this company if you value your property and want a pleasant moving experience.

Not sure these are real movers. It’s sounds decent enough until the hustle begins. Although on time and enthusiastic (a very short unload) it was almost unbelievable to be financially hustled and intimidated: not only was a tip demanded after one of the guys bad mouthed to owners, but after leaving a tool box behind the same impertinent and demanding mover showed up unannounced banging on the door incessantly as if he had no manners. Clearly there is zero respect for the customer. More stunning is Alex stood outside looking through windows only to bang further with further entitlement. Not safe people. Not good judgment. Not sure if it’s legit.

I originally chose Moveaholics just because of how kind the owner, Andrew, is. I reached out to nearly every moving company in the valley for an estimate and not only was Andrew and his team among the very cheapest, but he was so kind and took the necessary steps to explain every single cost of every single thing I needed and then the total. Other companies gave me vague numbers and totals.
The movers arrived promptly and worked so fast. They were polite, quick, careful, and asked questions to make sure they took care of everything I needed.
I will more than definitely be using them again for all of my valley moving needs.

Great guys and service who helped me with my move and went above and beyond thank you

Just got done with my move yesterday on a Saturday. Josh and Jeff showed up on time and ready to go. Not only were they both ready to start working with their huge truck but they were very friendly and respectful.
I was shown the time started, costs reviewed, services provided and given a thorough rundown of how everything would proceed.
Josh and Jeff got done quickly and just at the time I expected. They brought my stuff over to a storage unit and even met me where I was having breakfast after they finished. And on top of that the double J’s made a extra side stop to my new place and helped me unload some of my stuff there.
These guys are the absolute best. I appreciate their friendly dispositions and their professionalism. I don’t want to be moving a lot, however if I do again Moveaholics will always be my first choice. With a special request for Josh and Jeff.

We used Moveaholics LLC to move furniture from a vacation rental into another rental. Alex and JR were very thorough in wrapping all our furniture and taking care in moving the items. They were professional, respectful, kind and hard working. Nothing was damaged and we were happy with the moving experience.

I can’t say enough good things about this company. We moved over 1000 miles and the last thing we wanted to deal with was unloading the truck. I was worried about how quickly I could get support since it was short notice on a weekend. Moveaholics took the job and sent a crew out on a Sunday to help. Not only were they on time, helpful, efficient, and professional, but they were willing to stay the extra time needed to get the job done. They helped to assemble our bedroom furniture and worked tirelessly for four hours with minimal stops or breaks. Alex and Luis were life savers yesterday and I would recommend Andrew and his crew to anyone who asks as well as use them again. My whole family that came over to help unpack were impressed with the services and couldn’t believe how much progress was made so quickly! Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this so much less stressful!

I had to make a last minute move, gave them less than one day notice. They made it happen, gave me an affordable rate. Andy set me up with 2 movers that were professional and polite. They got the job done in less than 2 hours. You will be very pleased choosing this company, customer service is key. They will not let you down!

Moveaholics are great!!! My sister and I moved a week ago and prior to the move I was really nervous about finding a good moving company and how much it would cost. Originally I was going to go with a different company, but I saw all the positive reviews here on Unilocal.I checked out their website, gave them a call and the rest is history. Very very simple process for a basic furniture move and inexpensive. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

These guys may be the best I’ve ever used.

They moved a whole 3 BR house of furniture for me without a scratch anywhere. Everything was wrapped and loaded/​unloaded with the utmost of care.
My crew was Juliano, Ricardo and Thales. Three great guys!
Oh, and very reasonably priced!

I had the pleasure of moving my residence with Sam, Alex and Mike. They were wonderful, fast, heavy lifters, efficient and got a big move done in the estimated 3 hours from start to finish. I definitely recommend having three guys help you move to get it done the way these 3 did, they really worked well together and had great communication! I had called a few companies but was still pretty nervous as you most always are with everything going into a move, wondering if you’ve secured the «right» movers and for the «right» price. These guys were definitely worth it and I know I called the RIGHT company to work with in any future move. You won’t be disappointed!

Moveaholics made a long move from the Phoenix area to Flagstaff all in 1 single day, which in retrospect was a huge job considering a 4 bedroom-​3 car garage house full of 8 years of family discretionary accumulation. (Yes, moving shows how much stuff you bought over the years.) After moving to the new residence, Moveaholics also moved a considerable amount to a storage unit in the same day.
Their entire staff are accommodating & friendly. Thalis went the extra mile, always asking which room each box belonged, moving furniture exactly where I preferred, and disassembled a large dining table that did not fit through the door. It is rare & difficult finding help like that.
When my 12 month lease is up, I’ll be using Moveaholics again to move into a house. The price was more than fair, & I took the time to get a few quotes from their competitors. Needless to say, I’ll be requesting Thalis to be part of my moving crew next time.

Friendly, courteous and economical. I checked with multiple other movers and these guys offered the lowest price and a discount based on my need.
Andy helped me over the phone and Alex and Lee came over to help unload my truck.

So having just moved to Scottsdale, we decided to look for movers to help bring our furniture and boxes to our second floor unit.
We called several companies after our containers arrived and only Moveaholics answered immediately and was able to schedule 2 people to come by around 1 pm.
Both showed up promptly, asked where wanted things and promptly began moving items upstairs while I unloaded the containers.
Was able to complete the work in under 2 hours and had no problems with anything being dropped or damaged.
Both of the movers did their best to avoid anything that would cause damage to our rental unit.
They were also very friendly and professional, only taking breaks to hydrate.
Will certainly consider hiring this company again when it comes time to move again.

First time hiring a moving company to help with the moving process and I have to say they set my expectations pretty high for future movers.
David and Damian were fast, friendly and extremely professional. Loaded quick, unloaded quick with almost no damage. Highly recommend using this company for your moving needs.

I HATE moving. I won’t ask friends to help, because then I’ll have to help them move (2 moves!!)
GF and I needed to move to a new city a few hours away. The last movers charged so much that we call Moveaholics just to get some help loading a Uhaul I was going to rent.
It was actually cheaper for me to hire them to pack, move, and unpack!
Lonniell & David arrived this morning on time, super friendly, and did a better job taking care of my stuff than family members would have.
Even better on the unload.
Serious, use these guys. Couldn’t have gone any smoother and like I said IT COST US LESS THAN RENTING A TRUCK AND MOVING OURSELF!!!

These guys saved me a lot of stress!
I called this company last minute after another moving company didn’t show. The guys were courteous, professional, very helpful enthusiastic and friendly. They were quick. There ended up being some dirt that got on the bottom of my new bed, but the amazing thing is the owner is getting a professional cleaner to come in next week and clean it. I’m impressed at how much they cared and how quick they were to rectify the situation.
I highly recommend these movers!

My original review is below, but it is important to me to update it. After posting the original review, the owner of the company, Andrew, both called and messaged me to get feedback and to sincerely apologize. It is clear from the other reviews here that Moveaholics does good work that people appreciate. I think we were the outliers with one bad experience. I will say that Andrew’s reaching out to me really makes me feel much more positive about this company. He validated my concern that 7 hours was too long, and even offered to refund some of what I paid.
I am still in the midst of a cross-​country move, and I haven’t gotten my moving truck yet, but this review isn’t about how the truck was packed. I’ll update on that later.
I scheduled for 2 hours with two movers to pack my truck. They came on time (yay!), but ended up needing SEVEN hours to complete it. At the end of my two hours, they told me they needed about two more hours which I agreed to. Fast forward, it took longer than that, but they did the work, and I paid them for it.
A few days later, I sent an email requesting a receipt and letting them know I was unhappy about it taking so much longer than anticipated. Someone called me within a day or two to apologize for that and promised to get me an emailed receipt by the end of that day. A week passed, and I still didn’t have it, so I called to get it emailed to me. Again, I was told I would have the receipt emailed by the end of the day. (I need the receipt for tax purposes.) Another 4 days has passed, and I still don’t have my receipt. Also, their website isn’t active anymore…
Moving across the country is stressful, and keeping track of receipts and various expenses can be tough, but I’m trying to make sure I have everything I need.
I’m just so bummed out by this whole experience.
