Safe and Sound Piano

I had always been hesitant to use professional piano movers, since my piano is my baby!!! But after I found out about their million-​dollar insurance policy, I figured that I would give Safe and Sound Piano Movers a try. And am I glad I did!!! They are absolutely AMAZING and everyone who works there is just so pleasant to work with! Especially the delivery manager, Sherri. She was so helpful and sweet, and was patient with all of my questions. And she was SO funny! And not to mention, the movers (I worked with Austin and Junior) were GREAT! They were in and out of my home so quick, without even scratching my beautiful piano, a Yamaha C7. I would definitely recommend them to anyone and will most definitely use them once I need to move my piano again. Superb piano movers!

So, a piano is definitely an item you should not try to move by yourself — or with friends, unless those friends are the guys at Safe & Sound Piano. I have an antique upright piano that to be fair, probably isn’t worth a crazy amount of money — but that hasn’t stopped Safe & Sound from treating it like it is. Most recently, Junior & Adrian moved my piano — they called and let me know they were on the way, were actually EARLY, moved the piano with care, had to fit it through some tight doorways — all the while dealing with me looking over their shoulders (I was probably a bigger pain than the piano!!!), and handled the piano like it was heading to the Kennedy Center for a concert! I couldn’t be happier using this company, and absolutely recommend them!

This company is a good example of how one bad employee can ruin a reputation of an otherwise professional, competent company. I employed this company to kive a baby grand piano from my old house to new house. They had two options one involved taking it up steps which they recommended as the safest, though there was an extra charge for it. That was fine with me & I agreed to the extra charge. They had other stops & gave me a window of time to expect delivery. They were actually early, delivered the piano, set it up, & left before I got there. They left an invoice with my friend for $ 214 & said to tell me I could send a check. Since there was no mailing address on tge invoice I had to call them — 3 times before reaching a nice young woman who gave me the address. I put a check for $ 214 in the mail & thought all was well. Days later I receive a call at 9:30 am from an abrasive, angry woman named Sherry who identified herself as an accountant. The minute I answered the phone she said, «we have been chasing you for days to try to get our payment. You shorted us $ 100 for the ectra charge for stairs and I have proof you approved it.» I was taken back & offended by her attitude & told her so. I know I approved the stair charge & wrote a check that was in accordance with the invoice left behind. Apparently her employees gave me the wrong invoice. Instead of apologizing for the inconvenience & error, she started yelling over me while I was trying to explain what must have happened. She was belligerent, rude, & loud. I told her she needed to listen to what I was saying at which point she hung up on me. Subsequently I sent them a check on the same day for the difference as well as a copy of the invoice that had been left for me. I would guess Sherry is either wife or relative of owner as no employee in tgeir right mind would address a customer in that fashion. Unfortunately for this company, all the goodwill created by the very nice & competent delivery people was erased by this nut.
As a result, I could never recommend them to anyone, nor would I use them again. Life is too short & there are many piano movers in town where you don’t have to deal with this nonsense.

They moved the pianos without issue the two times I have used them, but scheduling with them is a joke. They called the day before to tell me the two hour window they had to make it over, which was between 8 and 10 am, and basically impossible to make for me, so I ask to reschedule for sometime in the afternoon. They don’t have an afternoon deliver appoint available for a full week… On the afternoon before delivery, they call to give me a two hour window again, this time 12 – 2, hardly an improvement but I already delayed a week because of their schedule last time so I take it. Guess what time they call me the day of to warn me that they are 20 min away? 10:40am… I would try someone else next time to see if they can do better if I found another company with good reviews, but I at least haven’t had any issues with pianos moved by them.

2 hours and a painful back later I stood at the bottom of the moving van, realizing there is no way to get this piano into this truck! The wheels on the piano do not turn and will not go up the ramp. You should of seen what I had to do to get it out of the door. That’s when I took out my phone and found this company. They can be there the next day! It took them 10 minutes to load and 10 minutes to unload it into my home and totally set up. Safe and sound! They charged me only the price on their website and no hidden fees! Do not try to move your piano yourselves! Use this honest straight forward company. It’s cheaper than renting a truck.

My experience with Safe & Sound was outstanding. Their service team was professional and courteous when setting the appointment and their two-​man moving team was amazing. They worked quickly — but thoroughly — and were really pleasant to work with. I would absolutely recommend this company to anyone looking for a piano mover.

This was my first experience with professional piano movers. Up until now I have used my uncles or brothers or friends to move my keys. Very professional two man team! So far so good! Pick up of my piano went swimmingly. Drop off was wonderful. The guys even checked on me after to make sure that everything was indeed intact. Great price. They quoted me more than the actual cost to move, so that is always a plus. Quick and efficient. I will definitely use Safe and Sound Piano to move again! Thanks guys!
