Chazal Scottsdale Apartments

I have lived here for 5 years and it is by far the best place to live. Angela is a pleasure, she is quick to respond to maintenance needs and takes a real interest in her tenants. The maintenance is great, they come as promised and always clean up nicely after they complete a repair. I appreciate the security team can be seen patrolling the grounds at night, I feel very secure here. The fact that the park is in my backyard is a big bonus. I love that it is dog friendly. I also appreciate that the grounds are well maintained, it makes for a very nice setting and the perfect location.

I lived here years ago. I only hope that the management has improved. When I moved out i left a phone number, email address, and a forwarding address for any problems, which I anticipated b/​c of cats. What i didn’t expect was a call from a credit collections agency 4 – 5 months later claiming that i owed them X-​amount of money. The money which i paid off immediately! AND super pissed because i never got any call/​email/​or letter for the damages from Chazal, which i would have paid for the moment i knew. I feel like not only did they deny me the chance to pay for the damages first hand, they ruined my credit, they caused damages between my family and I, and feel like they are completely the most dishonest company that i have dealt with. Please don’t get sucked in to their aka «good deals» it will cost you sooo much more during the year you’re sign in with them. RUN! RUN WHILE YOU CAN!! I do not recommend for anyone to live in this compound unless you can be reassured that calling a collections agency is not their first means of attack after one moves out, otherwise YOUR CREDIT WILL SUFFER!!!

Just a week in, but I absolutely love this place! We got a steal for a fully renovated apartment and it’s amazing. Our backyard is El Dorado Park, which we’ve utilized in excess in just the one week we’ve been here. Promotes such an active lifestyle.
The apartments are tucked into a neighborhood, so it’s quiet; but at the end of the street is the Scottsdale Police Department, so we feel very safe.
Dawn and Angela are awesome! Our previous management just left us feeling very negative and like we were a burden; but from day one of touring Dawn was patient, quick to address concerns, and gave us a second tour with our parents with equally as much patience and enthusiasm. And Angela was so helpful and easy-​going during the lease/​moving in process. We feel like we can go to them with anything and be helped quickly and efficiently. Oh, and Jensen in maintenance is awesome! We didn’t know if a lock we bought would fit so he came to consult less than an hour later.
The one and only con I can think of is the parking — very limited extra spots aside from assigned spaces :/​But that’s an uncontrollable that you just adjust to!
Overall, we feel very safe, taken care of, and excited to have found this place! We look forward to our time here!

There was no drainage outside my apartment and it flooded constantly… This is not something any insurance should cover. It’s an issue that is Chazal’s fault and I should have been compensated considering my apartment flooded on more than one occasion (I was once told to clean it myself).

Steven is an amazing maintenance guy. He is a leader who who listens and so is Angela. They both have been assisting me with this awful mold issue in my ceiling…
Although they have an A for effort… I still strongly recomend Do not live here unless you enjoy the presence of black mold.
Removing drywall and putting Kilz over moldy wood is not enough to remove the mold. It will spread and eventually make Chazal apartment complex too hazardous to have residents.
This place should be knocked down.

I’ve lived at Chazal just for one week, and I’ve found a perfect place to stay: the customer service is excellent, the location is good and quite, the apartments are big and clean. If you have trouble to run some stuff, you can ask to the leasing office, and they are ready to help you. It’s not one of the cheapest but it’s worth it. The only little negative thing is the size of the pool and gym: they are both too small. However, I really recommend to lease here. :)

Apartments seem nice and located right on the greenbelt near old town scottsdale. But I have never dealt with worse customer service in all the apartments I have rented.
I came in on a saturday and waited 20 minutes to talk to the only employee who was working. He was casually taking his time with the couple, which is to be expected, but failed to greet me or offer any literature while I waited. After showing them the model, he went on to talk about his favorite foods and his trips overseas, without any sense of urgency to help me out. Then when they finally left, he answered the phone and tended to other tenants who had walked in, not giving me any attention at all.
There was no follow up after I was shown the model. Since I liked the location I figured I would move there. Every time I called, I had to leave a message, no one answered the phone. It would take a day or two for him to get back to me.
I handed in my application, and a girl called me back that day. I was very happy that she seemed much more in to customer service than the man. But that was all. She said she would call back in two days after the application process came back. She did not. I called the next day, and of course had to leave a message. She never returned my call. I had to call a couple more times to get a hold of her. She sent me the lease via email and the dates were wrong, so i emailed her back. She never returned my emails. I told her I wanted to see the apartment the day before I moved in to make sure it was what I wanted before signing the lease. She never called, nor returned my messages and emails asking for this. I got her temporary assistant on the line who said there was nothing she could do, as the manager had gone home for the day.
So the day I was suppose to move in, I went to another complex. I figured if the customer service was this lousy as a perspective customer, how would it be if I ever needed something fixed, or anything else I was having problems with. Within 2 hours, I had looked at an apartment, filled the application, signed the lease, and moved in! The best thing about Chazal, besides the location, is how good it makes other apartment properties look!
Oh, and of course, I never had any sort of follow up to ask why I hadn’t moved in the day I was suppose to from Chazal…
