We have been in the same South Scottsdale location since 1998. Unlike many shops that change ownership over the years, we have had a solid history since we opened our doors. Breton’s Auto Repair & Speed Shop is a family owned and operated business. We have a long history here and an excellent reputation to back it up.

Michael is a master mechanic with 20 years experience. He is not only our shop owner but our lead tech. Michael leads and directs our team of technicians to ensure that each job is done with care and the utmost in quality. Michael is very good at explaining the needed work in a way the non-​mechanically inclined can understand. If no one else can solve your car’s issue, Michael is your man, he is an excellent trouble shooter.

This shop handled my repair with as much angst as my own. Had to install a remanufactured motor in a Pathfinder. The old one was a waste… well, that’s another time and story. The job was bid as pretty reasonable and laid out. Micheal, the owner expressed his ideas and we formulated a path to follow. He ordered a remanned motor from a local supplier with a 3 year warranty. The first motor arrived and wouldn’t you know, they sent the wrong one. We had to wait another 14 days for the correct one to be assembled and shipped. In the meantime, they arranged for a car rental paid by their supplier. Nice. They accomplished the task, power washed the engine bay and before it was released to me with new engine installed, test drove. All along the process, I was allowed to vist and see the progress on my vehicle. They took care as to make sure of any and all leaks and proper running condition. I feel confident that if there are any problems, Micheal will take care of them with high stsndard. A job performed well and now I have a new truck. Thanks to the Bretons’ finite operation.
I strongly recommend this family run business. That’s how you are treated. You get First Class service in the truest sense; First Class attention; First Class support.

I am so thankful to have met Michael and Carole Breton of Breton’s Automotive Group. I have worked with them through my foundation and also because Mike wanted to buy an old truck from my father. Since then this company has helped introduce me to new people and they helped the families a part of my Angels Around Us grant program have a special holiday season. Mike and Carole organized a toy drive at a holiday party they were hosting and their guests donated car loads of toys for my foundation. Seeing local companies like this one give back to our community means a lot to me and they will forever be an automotive repair shop I recommend to others. They are honest and good people and I am looking forward to building this relationship for many years to come. Awesome awesome shop. Mike, the owner, really cares about getting things fixed correctly the first time. I’ve taken 2 vehicles there and they were spot on in identifying the problems, fixing them when promised or earlier, and charging a very reasonable rate.
They specialize in euro, but they were able to fix our Lexus’ Air Conditioner while our son waited. Carol at the front desk is awesome, pleasant, and knows her stuff and another thing about Breton’s is that if you normally do work on your own car like I do but get stuck or have to have a professional work on for something complex, you actually get to talk to the mechanic who worked on your car if you’re curious about the problem, what they fixed, and how they fixed it. Of course this is virtually impossible at a dealership since their mechanics are ‘shielded’ by the front desk guy.
You can tell their philosophy is to diagnose and fix instead of dealerships or other shops which just throw replacement parts until the problem hopefully goes away.
We’ve moved a lot and it’s sometimes difficult to find a mechanic you can really trust. I would definitely recommend this place and I was so relieved we found this place after we moved to Scottsdale/​Phoenix!

I moved to Arizona in the winter on 2010 in a 2003 Honda Civic with the worst engine in the world! In February of 2011 my engine kept overheating and I searched high and low for a mechanic I could trust to fix my car. I don’t remember exactly how I stumbled across Breton’s but I was so thankful when I did. After taking it in, I was told the car definitely needed a new engine (something I was very suspicious of prior to it overheating). Gina and Mike worked diligently to find a used engine under 80,000 miles they could install for under $ 2,500. I also called around and got prices on engine installations. Breton’s, by far, was the best! The engine replacement was great, and I was able to trade my car in at a dealership for a much higher price than I had anticipated! The guys and gals at Breton’s have truly been lifesavers to me! I know if anything horrible happens with my vehicle, I can take it to them without the fear of inflated prices or bad service. I have never had a problem with them in the two years I’ve been here!

Gina at the front desk was very nice. So I dont want to flame them too bad.
Lets just say all the work they did needed to be done again. I didnt get any credit for work done less than a year earlier.. The attention to detail was poor and Twice I found missing screws and even tools left under the hood. It was a mistake going to this shop that looked so disorganized.
