I stopped in yesterday and the food was wonderful… so fresh and delicious. This will not be my last time eating here. I am a busy professional and don’t always have time to cook a come cooked meal… Wndsor Cafeteria will be my go to place for down home cooking.

I have been living on the Southside of savannah for 4 years now and this hidden gem has been right under my nose. It reminds me of small town country cooking. It was amazing. Food was delicious. Price was very reasonable. Service was fast and friendly. I can’t wait to return many many times. A+++++

A few things come to mind when I try to sum up the experience, top notch service, quality of the fresh made-to-order food from this gem on the south side of Savannah… Where to begin… Amazing. Filling. Satisfying. Great portions. Fast! Extremely friendly. CONSISTENTLY delicious food every single time! There’s nothing they won’t do to customize your meal to your tastebuds. Clean and bright open space for small families or even to host groups. Entrée options cover everything you could desire: Fried or grilled catfish with homemade tartar sauce… made by Marcus! Liver & onions Grilled or fried bone-in Pork chops Stewed, another chicken served rice Fried chicken… deserving of an Olympic gold medal Fried Chicken livers Baked Ham Chicken & Waffles Chicken tenders Pot roast Meatloaf good enough to slap yo’ mama! There’s about 14 choices for veggies and southern sides like Mac n cheese, collards, cabbage, potato salad, broccoli, okra & tomatoes, Lima beans, black eye peas… And my favorite CANDIED Yams!!! You can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. You owe it to yourself to try them out if you haven’t already.

Clean place, great parking, great food, get to this spot early they close at 6pm. I cant stress the food is great, beats all house hold names in the area, I love the fact that the owner is in the store and things are cooked to order, your food is not sitting in a widow. This is my go too spot now when I am in town.

I love this little place. A recent find on our latest trip to Savannah. This is a true, down-home find run by the most hospitable and kind people. They are the reason I’m bumping this to a full 5 stars. Windsor is still fairly new(opened in June 2014) on the southside of town off of Largo. Next to the big Staples. Very unassuming and once you’re inside, it’s bright and very clean. Marcus is the owner and most likely will be taking your order as well. My sister and I both felt like we were in a time warp because the prices were nuts(in a great way). We came for breakfast one day and lunch the next. Breakfast for me was 2 eggs w/cheese and toast, a pecan waffle and coffee. For about $ 7 total. My sister had the salmon croquettes and grits at $ 6.29. We were both satisfied with our meals and pretty much ate everything. My coffee cup was never empty. For lunch, we both had the fried chicken entrée. All entrees come with two sides — I had the mac and cheese/collard greens and she had the mac and cheese/yams. I also added on a piece of their blueberry shortcake — total for everything I had was eight American dollars and two cents, y’all. Fried chicken is a splurge for me these days and hot damn it was worth it. Very good crunch and seasoned well. We were both happy. My only critique was the collard greens which I found to be a bit too salty. Hopefully, it was a fluke. I can’t tell you much about the shortcake because I think I inhaled it in 2 seconds. The most expensive thing on the menu is their 20 piece wings at $ 12. Where in the hell are you gonna get 20 wings for $ 12? We also noticed their daily special of 8 pieces of fried chicken for $ 4.99. People of Savannah! Jump on this. Support these wonderful people. This is one of those places I’m hesitant on hyping up because I don’t want anything about it to change.

A few months ago my hubby had stumbled on a quick write up about this Windsor Cafeteria. He brought to my attention since my company has a center up the road and he knows I like trying new places. Today I decided to swing by and check it out. It may not be beautiful, but it has several things going for it. 1. Plenty of places to sit without having to bump into your neighbor. As I am a «healthy» and very pregnant woman, I cannot stand rubbing up on someone I don’t know nor do I like being rubbed up on when getting in and out of chairs at restaurants. 2. Clean!!! Front and back of house! 3. Super friendly staff 4. Prices are wonderful. You get enough to clean your plate and be satisfied. 5. The most important thing. THEFOODISBLOODYYUMMY!!! I chose to dine on the fried pork chop, green beans and collards. I am going to take a moment to talk about those green beans. They had me at first bite! They really did! I don’t know what they did, how they did it, but I must learn from these Jedi Masters on how to cook flavorful green beans that still have some crunch in them! Now, I am not talking about that raw crunch, but they weren’t cooked until they died. 80% were still bright green and maintained their shape. Most places with flavorful green beans are mostly broken up and kinda mushy. The collards caught me off guard. They were rather spicy, in a good way. You did not need the pepper sauce to give these bad boys a kick! And the pork chop… Oh that pork chop! Most places that fry chops are usually cut thin. These were twice as thick as I am use to getting. Very juicy, not over cooked and my mouth, tummy and baby were extremely happy! I am looking forward to coming back to Windsor Cafeteria!

Good, solid Southern cooking served up with a smile. Good folks, good food. The liver and onions was cooked perfectly, with the liver cooked all the way through but still tender, not overcooked like you get at some places. I understand the fried chicken is excellent, and I’ll try that on my next visit.

If you want good home style/southern cooking, you can’t go wrong especially for the price. I got the chicken fried steak, and we smothered pork chop, both were really good. Best bargain in town for lunch.

Chicken and waffles were great! The chicken is boneless tenders for the breakfast version and bone in for lunch. I was afraid the boneless tenders would be cheap frozen from a bag but they definitely were homemade! Can’t wait to go back and try their lunch version. Breakfast link sausages were yummy as well. Sausage patties were pretty dry. The food took forever to come out to us and they ran out of a few items even after we ordered them. Overall, we will definitely be back for chicken and waffles. Very friendly staff and service and very clean!
