Great stop post-visit to Forsyth Park. Although I didn’t say at the Mansion on Forsyth Park, I enjoyed stopping by the visit the gallery. I’ve never seen so many hats in my life! A very unique collection, and you can stop by their downstairs bar and might even get some smooth piano music if you hit it at the right time. Don’t be shy to wander down the hallways past the reception desk for more works of art. This is a great stop for a in-between from the outdoors, but I highly recommend your next stop be Maté Factor for a beverage!

Thank you to the staff at the Mansion for all of your efforts in making my recent stay memorable. You went above and beyond. Kim and I celebrated our wedding anniversary at the Mansion and had a wonderful time. A special shout out to Miss Sarah, your thoughtfulness did not go unnoticed. Thank you

I currently visited this hotel this past weekend to meet up with newlywed that were staying at this hotel. Upon arriving, I opted for the valet service since parking is a bit difficult for this location. I arrived at 12:30PM and at 4:00PM I asked the valet attendant if I could remove an item out of my vehicle. The attendant escorted me to my vehicle and upon arriving I had a flat. I was highly upset and spoke to a supervisor. The supervisor was attentive and apologetic. The supervisor changed my tire due to my attendance needed for the wedding event. When I arrived the supervisor explained I had some sort of tree branch lodged into my tire, which cause my tire to lose pressure. He stated it could be something that probably transpired before arriving. I did not open a claim through their insurance, since I’m familiar with Marriott’s valet claim process. They get NOWHERE! I know, since I was once employed with them. This obviously didn’t transpire during my commute to the hotel since I drove down from North Carolina with no flat or no low pressure indication from my vehicle. Due to negligence on the valet service, I have to either purchase a new tire or patch this puncture caused by this mysterious tree branch.

My fiancée and I recently stayed there on our recent trip to Savannah. The Mansion is everything that you come to expect with a Kessler Collection Hotel. Beautiful, distinctive, artful and an all around great boutique hotel. The only major drawbacks were as follows. Compared to the other Kessler locations we have seen this one could use some new carpet in the rooms as they are looking a little worn. The staff did not get our amenity to us until 2 hours after it was supposed to be delivered. As for the shuttle be sure to call ahead and schedule it as they will not take you even if you were waiting in the lobby for it. As a side note if you are a Marriott Rewards member you will get points for your stay and as a Platinum member this is a great bonus.

Excellent! Great atmosphere. The best grits in the south! Good selection. Nice service and so relaxing. Good view of Forsyth park.

Lovely ambiance and great service inside the restaurant. They have elegant chandeliers, fireplace and animal trophies filling the rooms. I would say their food was okay — nothing to write home about. We had seared tuna and the rigatoni and a salad to share; the portions were generous. The only thing I would complain about is their lift for the disabled; both when we were entering and leaving the restaurant it was a hassle to try to get the elevator to work and when it didn’t, we had to help one of us up the small staircase to the dining room itself.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park is a very romantic place in historic Savannah. Very interesting place.

This is a beautiful hotel. Stayed over New Years with my wife for a wedding. Food was average, the stars here are the staff members. From the front desk and bellmen to the banquet staff who worked the wedding. Everyone was polite courteous and efficient. Tiffany at the bar exceeded our expectations though. She made one(maybe 2 or 3) of the best mules I’ve ever had. She was a pleasure to talk to and was a wealth of local information.

4 stars for a lovely hotel that fell slightly below expectations for service. We arrived around 3 for check-in. The check-in time is four and they weren’t ready for us yet. This was fine and we stowed our luggage with the front desk and decided to check out the downtown. They told us they would call us when our room was ready. After spending a few hours downtown, we decided to return to the hotel to get changed before dinner. We got to the front desk around 6 and asked to check-in. The front desk guy looked apprehensive and fussed with the computer and went into the back for a minute. He then told us that the room still wasn’t ready and that they would call us when it was done. He didn’t offer a time frame or anything else. He avoided eye contact and clearly wanted us to leave. When we made it clear we weren’t happy with this answer a manager came over and offered us cocktails while we waited. This was better than nothing, but it still took another half hour after this for our room to be available. Other than this, our stay was fine. However, it really soured the experience.

Beautiful hotel and the rooms are so nice. Wish the bathroom stall glass door closed a bit better as well as the shower door but all in all it was nice. The bathroom was nice and big. Loved the fact that they had a shuttle with the riverfront hotel but not so thrilled when we arrived to go back and the shuttle was not there as promised. So they told us we could go to the roof top for a drink while we wait(when i had wondered why they did not just call and have it sent over). When we came back down the later shuttle was packed and we could not all fit. Poor planning folks for a holiday night. The though was great but that shuttle should go back and forth regardless if there is one or ten people.

I love staying here. It is a wonderful hotel, gorgeous inside. Staff is always friendly. Beds are comfortable. They have a free shuttle to take you to the riverfront, but walking isn’t so bad.

I stayed in The Mansion recently for an event and so my room was at an event rate of $ 189/night; normally my room would have been $ 459/night from what I understand. In my opinion, both rates are a lot of money and way too much for what I experienced. Day 1: decided to take a bath in the jet tub. The drain was broken and wouldn’t drain after the bath. Also took a shower and the water sprayed out of the shower all over the marble floor(so slippery!). The bed was also pretty uncomfortable. Day 2: I was awoken by loud banging. They were doing construction on the room next to mine the entire time I was there. It would start at 7am and wouldn’t end until after 6pm. Not only did the staff doing the construction let doors slam and use power tools but the would stand and talk loudly right outside my door. Day 3: ordered some room service because I was a little under the weather. Hair in my soup. Day 4: stopped by the hotel bar to grab a coca cola. The bartender told me she wasn’t open for another 14 minutes and I’d have to wait. I asked if there was a soda machine anywhere and she said, «I am the soda machine». OK. I could go on with the bad. The only good I have is to say that both shuttle drivers I had were awesome, very friendly and knowledgeable. In general the staff was cold and pretentious, the space was cramped and musty, the ambiance was murdery. If I were paying $ 89 a night for this nonsense, I’d shrug. As an Autograph collection hotel at many hundreds of dollars a night, I really expected better. The Mansion has an incredible reputation but it clearly has stopped doing whatever it took to gain that reputation. This hotel has a long way to go to live up to the hype. I’m unsure if my experience was related to being a part of the event or if it’s always like this but I’d say don’t stay here and if you’re hosting an event this is not the place to wow your guests.

Way overpriced for what you actually get! We visited Savannah specifically to stay at this hotel since we noticed how beautiful it was during our last trip, since we both love the Kessler concept. Initially I thought the few poor reviews were exaggerated as I found the bohemian décor beautiful, the proximity to the park peaceful and the price just right for what you get… But NEVERAGAIN! Before the negatives, I must compliment the front desk staff as they did surprise us by leaving a complimentary bottle of sparkling wine in our room for our anniversary, Thank you :-) But the 5 or even 4 star experience went downhill from there. 1) plates left unattended outside three rooms on our way to the elevator, 2) the CD player didn’t work(I normally love to hear the Kessler tunes whenever I visit a Kessler property but I couldn’t this time around). 3) the portable phone next to our bed did not work so we had to make calls from the bathroom. 4) the«soft water» in the shower may be appreciated by some but hated by others like me(specially when the water pressure is terrible). If things couldn’t get any worse… We mistakenly left our«Kessler umbrella» at a local restaurant two nights before and we were willing to pay $ 20 or $ 30 dollars for it… But we’re shocked when the bill charged us $ 50+tax for a cheap made-in-china umbrella! We stayed at the Kessler property in Orlando many times before and loved the experience but this will be my last time that I stay at a Kessler property! Take my $ 50 dollars and hire better management for this property which is way overpriced and the level of experience merits no more than two stars. If looking for a magical place to stay on Savannah listen to your significant other and stay at a 5-Star Bed & Breakfast instead of this overpriced, overdecorated, far away from everywhere hotel… interesting how all the negatives come together once you don’t get the WOW experience!

I’m a girl who likes a good hotel. No a great hotel. And the Mansion on Forsyth Park delivered on everything I want from a opulent room and bathroom, to a great location, to staff who act like they like what they do. This Autograph Collection by Marriott is also a part of the Kesseler Group of hotels which always means excellence with some great little extras. Those extras here are the amazing art collection that is in the building and the wonderful architecture of the restored home. Everywhere you look there is art…even in the elevator and it is stunning. Most is too modern for my taste but the sheer scale of it all will certainly impress. My room was quite spacious with a large bathroom and separate shower and toilet area. Know before you go that there is a partial wall closed off by a shutter between the bathroom and the bedroom(seems to be the thing these days although it makes privacy a bit harder). My favorite thing in the room was the«candelabra desk lamp». Yep. That’s right. There is an elaborate candelabra for you to do your work by. Let’s not kid ourselves, the entire décor of this place is over the top but somehow it all works. And the bed is so sumptuous that once you crawl into it, the crazy headboard will only be a distant dream! The central park of the lobby looks out onto the pool area. Wish there had been a bar open out there as we would have certainly sat there rather than at the lobby bar. Location is perfect, close to everything you might want to do in Savannah. Next time you are looking for that perfect place to stay in Savannah, all the southern hospitality you could want is right here.

From arrival, everyone was attentive and wonderful — exactly what I’ve come to expect from hotels in the Marriott family! It was also my first stay at an «autograph collection» hotel, and I have to say I don’t think I could have picked a better place unless we’d gone with its sister property, the Bohemian. As you pull in, you are warmly greeted by a valet who provides you with a ticket as they park your car. Now, it sounds silly, but I wish there were more downtown hotels with self park lots, because sometimes you want to just get yourself all set while being able to take your time. But it’s downtown, so I get that. The lobby features a view of their relaxation pool, and leads to the Grand Bohemian Gallery on the left and the first floor rooms on your right. Check-in was a breeze, though I wish I’d managed to get my first check-in on my phone, dangit! The front desk was INCREDIBLY pleasant through our entire stay and that can sometimes make all the difference when you’ve had a hot or hard day. After check-in, we made our way to the elevators, and were first exposed to the artwork on all the guest hallway walls… which was nice, though not stuff I’d put on my walls. And probably stuff I couldn’t afford. It DID, however, lend itself well to the overall ambiance of the hotel, and it really felt like a cute little boutique place instead of a chain. Our room had a SPECTACULAR view… air compressors. Which didn’t take away from the overall appearance of the room, which had two simply but also opulently decorated beds, the cool feel of the bathroom… and a half floor leading to the bathtub from one of the beds. By far that was the strangest feature of the room, but it was clean, had no lingering smells, and everything worked. We took advantage of room service and ordered a dessert and tea. The dessert was the truffles and a berry something. Now, we asked what the«florentine» part of the dessert was when it came up because we weren’t quite sure, and the delivery person said it was the cream on it. I don’t know if that’s true, but it was really good! I would definitely stay here again!

Fabulous location, gorgeous hotel! Our company booked all of our rooms here for a quick retreat that we were having in Savannah. From the moment you walk in you are taken back with all the old world Southern décor and charm. It is so pretty and the pool was very nice in the courtyard. Check in went smoothly as all of their staff are very friendly. When I took the elevator up to the third floor to find my room I got lost and could not find it. Ha ha my room turned out to be hidden at the end of the floor in a cove area. Luckily, after walking up and down the hallway I found it. Bam I open the door and fell in love. A bath tub beautifully placed in the middle of the room with curtains surrounding it. I was lucky as some of my team mates had a wall around their tub but not me. My room was large, open, and just so peaceful. I had a separate shower, a huge king size bed that was the most comfortable bed with the beautiful soft sheets and spread. There is a safe in the room, hair dryer, yay, iron, small refrigerator that did not seem to work very good. A large TV and a bose stereo that was playing when I arrived with soft tunes. They leave all kinds of toiletries, soap, wash, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and they smelled delightful. You can’t beat the location directly across from the ever so beautiful Forsythe Park. Each morning I woke up early walked around the park quite a few times waiting on the café to open for my morning coffee. Since I am an early riser it was dark in the park and you have your shady characters hanging around but they just say hello and leave you alone so I felt safe. Ten, fifteen minutes to walk to River street and other areas. A couple of times we took Über and taxi to get to dinner and the valet and concierge at the hotel are excellent. They treat you like royalty, opening up the car doors for you, wishing you a great day etc… Free wifi which worked fine for me in the room. They have a bar in the hotel that is small but it did the job when I needed some vino. The bartenders were all super friendly as well. This is the hotel to stay in and I was quite disappointed when my husband moved us for the rest of the weekend to another hotel. I felt as if I was getting punished. I look forward to visiting Savannah again and this will be the only hotel I will stay at. Absolutely stunning and as my friends pointed out pet friendly as well. Thank you for a wonderful stay… xoxoxoxoxoxoxo

This hotel was excellent! We arrived here after a 8.5 hour drive, with a feverish baby and a cranky four year old. The staff was warm and welcoming, check-in was smooth and easy and the bellman immediately took our bags up to the room. We had requested a crib and it was delivered to the room less than five minutes after our arrival. Due to the late hour and the rainy weather, we opted to order in-room dining and were blown away. The food was phenomenal and was brought up to our room in less than 20 minutes. I will definitely be staying here again.

We stayed here two nights in March. Quick and easy ride from the airport. It’s right on the square of Forsyth Park, a perfect location. Very pretty hotel, outside and inside. I enjoyed looking at the antique lady’s hat collection. The artwork all over the hotel was eclectic and interesting. The pool area and little courtyard was cozy. Typical of a boutique city hotel. You don’t come to Savannah to hang by the pool all day, so I found it adequate. We found the staff to be very friendly from check in to check out. Our room was on the third floor and gorgeous. Comfy bed and oversized chair and ottoman. The decorating style fit the location. My bathroom was large and very clean. We took advantage of the hotel van service to their sister hotel on the waterfront coming back from dinner. It’s an easy walk down to the waterfront and lots of shops and things to look at on the way. This hotel has a luxurious B&B feel, without the annoying hosts! They have a concierge lounge that had a very nice happy hour and breakfast. When we travel this is the type of hotel we look for.
