I ran into the store on a whim yesterday as I did not even know that they existed until a web search pointed them out. I grew up nearby but have since moved a bit further west. Regardless, I was only looking for a couple small, low cost parts for an older street /​BMX bike that I picked up for my son. You know, the kind of bike that you always wanted as a kid but didn’t get, so now you buy it for your kid? Yeah, that one. Anyways, Henry found a solution to what I was looking for at an affordable price instead of just selling me the latest and greatest.
Henry, you earned my business and loyalty. Thank you. I will do what I can to route business your direction. On a side note, your new daughter is beautiful!

East County BMX is THE shop to go to in San Diego when it comes to BMX. Henry, the hands-​on owner, has been riding and following BMX for a long time and the shop is 10 years strong. EC is constantly bringing in product from all the top brands, and if you’re looking for particular product, then the chances are he has it in stock. His store is a candy store for BMX parts, bikes, and accessories. If by some chance he doesn’t have it, then he can definitely get it for you. He sponsors and helps out local up and coming riders in the community, and can handle any repairs you need. Lastly, he’s a straight up dude so if he thinks something is a bad product or will go wrong for you, then he’ll let you know.

Worst service ever couldn’t even help me build my back rim and with 30 minutes till the store closes said it will take to long for him to build, didn’t even try to be helpful he just didn’t care, he was a bald guy don’t remember his name

Refurbing my childhood BMX bike for my son so took my bike in for a tune up. Excellent customer service. Very nice and reasonable prices and very knowledgeable about all things BMX. I highly recommend this place! Thanks guys!

This isn’t only the best BMX shop in southern California, it may be the best in the country. The BMX media attention and Henrys reputation back up the claim. I’ve been all over the country and have visited multiple bike shops, but there is no place like ECBMX. I’ve been a customer for more than 8 years and now I’m bringing my kids here for their first bikes!

ECB is the best BMX shop in San Diego. They sell only BMX and Henry the owner is not only a rider but a great guy with a lot of knowledge of the sport. He can find any part you need and will meet or beat any price you see elsewhere. He will also help get your bike up to speed with anything that might need a upgrade or that is broken as he he has all of the tools and knowledge to fix anything. Go here if your serious about BMX!

I had an awesome experience here. I was in a bind, as I’m from out of the state on a BMX roadtrip, and my back cassette hub was goofing up on me. I stopped at another bike shop and the guys there said I needed a new driver ($ 90 or so), which I didn’t think was true. So I took it to Henry at EC BMX. He took the hub apart for me right away and we realized it only needed new bearings and a nut: a $ 20 fix. He got me up and rolling smoothly in about 20 minutes!

I’m in the process of building a bike to cruise around with my nephew. I stopped at another local shop I had been using for years and unfortunately they converted over to beach cruisers and scooters mostly. So I read reviews and decided East County probably fit my needs. I walked in and was looking to price mostly but possibly buy some parts. Henry greeted me right as I walked in. I was looking at cranks and a bottom bracket. He asked what bike I had and knew off the top of his head what would work. After seeing that his prices were actually better than danscomp and obviously I could ask questions and actually see the product I walked out almost $ 100 lighter in the wallet but much happier than I’ve ever been ordering from places online. They have definitely earned all my bmx business in the future. Thanks for running such a great shop in a great location. Keep it up guys.

This shop is hands down the best bmx shop in san diego. When i moved here 5 years ago I went to a few different shops first and they all had the same old sterile feeling. Walking into east county I was welcomed and felt right at home. Henry stocks all the best stuff and can get basically anything within a day or two.
Even though my bmx has been pushed to the side for a road bike, I still stop by periodically to grab small things for my bmx and catch up. This shop is a cornerstone of san diegos bmx scene.

I heard about this shop from Unilocal.went there with my sons bike yesterday. Henry was super helpful and friendly. His price for the work was more than fair. Work was done quick and well. Thanx Henry !

Don’t let this small business go unnoticed, this business owner nows how to treat his customers… Call me old fashion but it is so sad there aren’t more hard working honorable guys trying to make a honest living… My son has been buying all his BMX bikes and parts at East County BMX and there hasn’t been one time in the store that we haven’t been treated exceptional… Please remember to reward this kind of business and only order and buy your parts from east county BMX

First, Henry is an awesome guy who responds to every question that is asked on their facebook page. Second, if ou ride BMX in San Diego, or even Southern California you know or have most likely heard of East County. Third, there super knowledgeable staff not only knows but rides BMX. Don’t even bother going to a sporting goods store looking for ur kids first BMX, go into a place like this where it is flooded the BMX eye candy. WOW! Henry is an AWESOME bike shop owner. I recently decided that I wanted to build up a 24″ SKYWAY T/​A Cruiser so that my daughter and I can ride together. As you all know there is a limited amount of shops around town that cater specifically to the BMX enthusiast. Shopping on-​line is ok and you can find just about anything you want, right? WRONG the element that is missing is the customer service skills, expert knowledge, and extreme friendliness that you will receive from Henry at his shop. When I started on my build I visited other shops big box stores and called around town including East County BMX. The results of these calls and visits was me ending at Henry’s shop. I walked in and instantly knew that this place was for me and On the phone he took the time to listen to my questions, help me with acquiring my parts, and placing my order. As you all know cruisers mid to old school BMX bike supplies are hard to acquire but at East County BMX Henry delivered exactly what I needed regardless of the era of bikes and I am never shopping at another location for my BMX needs. East County tailors to the new and old school, go down and visit him and experience exactly what you would expect from an establishment where you are spending your hard earned money. Best BMX bike shop that i have been to. Been coming here for years and i’ll continue to come here if i ever need another bike, or if i need a part for my bike. Its a cool place to come and just talk about bikes in general. Get ideas. If you dont want to spend money, leave the wallet at home, i cant walk in here and walk out empty handed. Its practically impossible.
