History
Established in 1989.
After gaining experience at a number of firms, Richard Ramer founded Ramer Architecture as a boutique architecture practice committed to a high quality of design and construction management with an appreciation for the practical concerns of building and applying design to the real world. Richard Ramer has developed a specialty in healthcare design through years of experience and is invested in applying a human aesthetic to healthcare facilities. In 2007, Ramer Architecture was the recipient of the City of Santa Monica’s Sustainable Quality Award for Excellence in Stewardship of the Natural Environment and Social Responsibility. As a LEED accredited Architect, Richard Ramer is committed to providing design and construction management services solidly rooted in Sustainable Design practices.

Business Owner
Richard Ramer has been a licensed architect since 1984 and received NCARB certification in 2006. He is licensed to practice in both California and Arizona. He has spent 3 years as the chairperson of the Los Angeles AIA Committee on Healthcare and is still active in the organization.
He studied design at UCLA, graduated Cum Laude from U. C. Berkeley with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and has further graduate studies at Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-ARC). He taught Drafting and Contract Design at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles and Design & Construction at Santa Monica College.
Richard is a member of American Institute of Architects, a F.E.M.A. Post-earthquake Safety Evaluation Certified Inspector, a Federal Mediation & Conciliation Service Training Certified Mediator, and a member of the National Fire Protection Association for code and technology issues related to healthcare design.
