Dr. Trebilcock and Dr. Gran offer a very comprehensive plan for holistic health and healing. I am thrilled to have discovered Integrative Health Institutes and have the honor to be treated by Doctor’s I feel to be incredibly knowledgeable, compassionate and attentive. Dr. Trebilcock is thorough in her assessment and takes the time to consider all aspects of health — mental, physical and spiritual. In the time she has been treating me I have seen remarkable results. I know I am in good hands. Dr. Gran is as equally knowledgeable and has been a great help in our follow-​up sessions. She takes the time to listen and offer good advice. I thank them both for giving me the gift of good health.

Bottom line: Dr T. is a dyed in the wool genious. Not all Naturopaths are made the same. She has an incredible knack for understanding the interconnected relationships of the body and its chemistry. She is an uncommon mind. She reminds me of Russell Crowe in A Beautiful Mind when he breaks the code in the seminal scene. She gave me my life back after a devastating bout with swine flu that left me disabled with a post viral chronic fatigue syndrome at 29 y/​o. Out of the 10 doctors I saw, some renown UCLA and Cedars specialists, she was the only one who helped. When I first saw her, knowing that with my illness I was given only a 10% chance of ever recovering in my life (by traditional research) I asked her what chance did she give patients like me for ever having a normal life again. She said she had seen about 90% improved in her office. I was very doubtful. I remember asking her what it looked like when patients like me recovered, if ever, in her office. She said, it would be like peeling off layers of an onion until one day it lifted. Over a year and a half, with her performing deep testing and finding approx 50 compromised markers in my body that had been devastated by the flu, some in areas I didn’t know could be tested, and by prescribing at times light support and supplementation, while at other times her pulling the trigger on aggressive intervention of opportunistic infections that had taken over my broken body, plus her researching unique aspects for my case, even so much as finding a genetic predisposition in my family that no other doctor had thought to test for, she wrestled every single one of my collapsed systems; immune, digestive, hormonal, metabolic back to life, and one day, free of infection and with 50 markers all testing within range, my illness lifted… It was exactly as she described could happen. She cured an illness deemed «untreatable» by experts and not only that, I remember weeping at my desk, a grown man, thinking I hadn’t felt as good since I was a kid. I left better than before my illness. What I learned is that for many modern illnesses, it’s insane to see only specialists because the illnesses themselves are not specialized and they form due to complex multi system compromises. Many people I speak to believe, like I used to, that a Naturopathic Doctor represents a branch of hippy dippy, granola, ineffective alternative medicine that sort of steps outside of strict clinically proven science. I can’t speak for all Naturopaths, but with Dr. T. that assumption is far from the truth. Here’s why: Science is ahead of medicine. Many institutions in medicine actually lag behind science as it takes time for new proven research findings to trickle into practices and for paradigms to update. I witnessed how Dr. T treats based on new peer reviewed understandings in science. The problem is without somebody on the bleeding edge applying new clinical understandings I’d still be disabled, unable to lift my arms or walk to the kitchen, still believing that my illness was incurable because doctors who hadn’t bothered to open a medical journal in 30 years told me so. If you feel like shit everyday and don’t know why, or have a complex ailment that you will do anything to have cured, ask her if she thinks she can help, she won’t bullshit you about her capabilities. (By comparison, for another illness I read about, I was curious about her results and she said she only saw approx 30% of patients improve). I can say there’s nobody I’d trust more with my health than Dr. T, the genius shit-​kicker.

Dr. Trebilcock has been my physician for 9 years. I am healthy, happy and grateful! She practices a holistic approach to health and well-​being. Throughout the years she has been there for me and assisted me with many challenges. She is caring and kind and takes the time to find the best treatment. I recommend Dr. Trebilcock to everyone who is serious about their health and well-​being. She is the best!

Caring doctor who took a personal interest in my care. Yes, it’s expensive and difficult to get a first appointment, but this is the norm with holistic medicine. After I became an established patient she went out of her way to fit me in for last minute appointments, spend extra time addressing my concerns, and even gave me her email address. Her office staff was very friendly, too, although she often runs late.
The reason for my rating is that in spite of her attention to me she was never able to get to the bottom of my issue. The nutritional supplements helped me feel a lot better at first, but she eventually told me to reduce them as if I was recovered and I later ended up getting just as sick as before. I started to feel like she wrote me off as a mental health case, and I kept coming back with less and less answers. Eventually I left and it was another two years before I finally found a doctor who could diagnose me.
Thrilled to hear that she has been able to help others. She is a very kind and knowledgeable doctor. Just not the right fit for me.

I am a big fan of Dr. T. She is so knowledgable and thorough, and sweet. Between my acupuncturist and Dr. T, I never need to go see a western medical physician for anything! She provides ample time to explain everything to you, and while we were waiting for her to write up a very in-​depth list of lifestyle and nutritional suggestions, she gave us a binder to flip through that was full of articles/​studies that were pertinent for my health issue. She clearly has done a lot of research on the nutritional supplements she sells. After taking her tincture/​supplements, I already started seeing benefits the day after! Pretty amazing! I have been seeing Dr. Trebilcock for over 5 years off-​and-​on. For the past 2 years with regular frequency. She has always been kind, attentive, helpful, considerate, knowledgeable and just overall a very satisfactory doctor. When my «western/​Medical» Doctor did her regular blood test, she was quick to pull out her pad and try to prescribe antidepressants. As I am not someone who take meds unless they are not completely necessary, I choose to go to Dr. Trebilcock for a second opinion. She went a few steps further by not only doing a complete and thorough test of my blood, saliva (hormones) and stool. When I went for my follow-​up, she showed me on paper, why I was feeling the way I was… tired, down, blah. Right there in front of me, the results showed that I was not imagining this — many of my vitamin and hormone levels were super low. She explained that with a little bit of help (regular vitamin plan, exercise, sleep and time for myself), I could get myself back to a happy, healthy 30-​something with 3 kids… who needs all of my energy possible. I promised myself I would try anything for 3 months. In the 3^rd month, I felt like the curtain of «blahs» and «tired-​ness» were lifting. I was beginning to feel better.
What I tell people who ask is… taking the ND path takes some time, patience and money. The cost is sometimes a little hard to swallow in the beginning, but I feel like it levels off as Dr. Trebilcock adjusts your plan and decreases your vitamin regiment as your body can begin to work on it’s own with restored levels. My health is worth it to me! If you do your part of her extensive and well-​thought out plan, you will see results!

I searched out a ND a few years ago after getting fed up with feeling sick all the time and not getting answers from my general practitioner. I knew I wanted to be tested for food sensitivities and Integrative Health Institutes’ website convinced me to call them to set up an appointment. Since then Dr. Trebilcock has become my primary doctor. She helped me to navigate my food sensitivities which were numerous. She has also been able to help me with a borderline underacting thyroid condition that my general doctor tested for but never thought needed to be addressed.
These 2 things alone have turned my life on it’s head. I have gone from being foggy brained, lethargic and constantly sick to having more energy, clear headed and eager to continue becoming healthier.
She knows that I am paying out of pocket and does what she can to keep my appointments and supplement recommendations down to what is absolutely necessary in order to keep me on track. She also understands that I live far away and work long hours so we try to do phone appointments as much as possible and sometimes the office will mail me my refills.
The only compliant I could have is that frequently when I go into the office (usually missing work as they are not open on weekends), the appointments rarely start on time. Dr. Trebilcock does spend the time to thoroughly go over everything each time you meet so I understand that the appointments can tend to run over. The front desk staff is great and fun to chat with while I wait and when checking out at the end.

Dr. Trebilcock has been my primary doctor for eight years. I appreciate her profound knowledge of holistic healing practices and her sincere care for my well-​being. When I had a major health crisis, I went straight to Dr. Trebilcock and am grateful for the nuanced, intelligent on-​going care that she has given me including dietary recommendations, herbal supplements, western medicine prescriptions (when called for but not in excess!), and lifestyle guidance. Through treatment with Dr. Trebilcock, I have become more educated and empowered about diet, herbs, and healing practices, and how my daily choices can support and create my own healthfulness.
Holistic medicine is not cheap. But what other doctor will spend 90 minutes one-​on-​one discussing and considering the complex aspects of your life and how they affect your health? Yes, Integrative Health Institutes sells herbs and supplements that are recommended by Dr. Trebilcock. And they work! Because they are made with quality ingredients and backed by the latest science. I truly hope that one day soon, health insurance plans will be required to cover the cost of holistic medicine. But in the meantime, this is an expense that it worth it to me because the care of Dr. Trebilcock has helped me heal and move beyond some frustrating and challenging times in my life. Feeling vibrant and energized is priceless. Yes, Dr. Trebilcock’s services are in demand and it can sometimes be difficult to get an appointment scheduled. However, she does reserve appointments for acute issues so you can schedule a same week visit when you’re really sick and need to see her right away. She has also occasionally done follow-​up consults with me by email and by phone when I needed immediate guidance about herbs/​supplements/​medicine and didn’t have time to come in for an appointment.
I believe that Dr. Trebilcock is one of the best doctors in LA and I would recommend her to anyone who is serious about getting their health on track and feeling good.

I went to Dr. Treblicock 4 years ago once and never went back! First of all, she opened the door and called me the wrong name! With my chart in her hand! Second thing, she does think she knows it all and was very short and curt and I was telling her very intimate details of my problem. Horrible Bedside manner. I went back to my other holistic Dr. who is in SMonica, and mentioned my experience with Dr. T and she just nodded as if she had heard it before. I came across the Unilocal reviews and feel compelled to write about my experience because I too felt completely «ripped off» by the insane amount of money she charges and then writes you a long list of supplements you need to get healed, that coincidentally you can buy in her office. She’s rude and definitely not worth your time or your money.

If I could give a 0 to Dr. Trebilcock, I sincerely would. However, the fact that you’re able to book a consultation with her prior to the initial appointment warrants one star. Because in that consultation, I learned that going to Dr. Trebilcock would be a HUGE mistake. One of the most dangerous things out there is a doctor who is arrogant and doesn’t listen to their patients. Dr. Trebilcock is one of those doctors. She thinks she knows it all. And she doesn’t. After going through a 2 year medical nightmare, which I told her about (also due to an N.D. who didn’t listen) she thought she knew more about what happened to me than I did. (Even my other doctors were horrified to later hear what happened. And they are doctors of the highest caliber.) Needless to say, I left her office so incredibly upset that people at my work noticed. And ironically enough, I told a co-​worker what happened. Given she has such a memorable name, he recognized it and said, I think my wife went to her! He then called her up and sure enough, she had. But she stopped going to her because in her words? «She was a know it all and never listened.» Good doctors listen. I’m so glad I walked out. That’s all I have to say.

I first went to see Dr. T about 2 years ago. For 6 months straight, I was feeling tired all the time, depressed, gaining weight… I had a history of taking meds before and they made me feel worse so I wanted to try a more holistic view and approach to diagnosing and treating what was going on with me so I was referred to Dr. T by a friend. After my examination and going through my paper work, she immediately had a diagnosis for what was ailing me. I was surprised to know so quickly and considering what was going on in my life at the time it all made sense. She prescribed 4 supplements that I could conveniently pick up at her front desk, b12 shots (are awesome) and a list of things to consider trying or avoiding. Within a few months of following the doctors orders, I was feeling normal again. Dr. T knows her stuff and won’t sugar coat it for you either… she points out the personal responsibility one must take in getting/​feeling better. Oh and I was able to secure appointments within 3 weeks at the most… not 3 months.

Can you ever say enough great things about this doctor?!
Dr Trebilcock is simply amazing: so smart, so caring and so real. She takes her time with you and cares for you like family. She knows so much about health and is so generous with her knowledge. I have seen amazing results with my thyroid and other hormones. She has been so caring and so attentive, and so respectful of my choices. I had such a hard time adjusting to taking these needed supplements and she has worked with me so much to make it fit my lifestyle. She always has solutions. I love her!!! I highly recommend her to anyone and everyone.

Almost all of the reviews are five stars with 1 – 3 reviews which makes me suspicious that these reviews are fake or written by friends or employees. There is no way anyone would leave a positive review for the way Dr. Tamara D. Trebilcock handles her patients.
I wasn’t sure whether or not to make an appointment with Integrative Health Institutes because Dr. Trebilcock was fully booked for 2 – 3 months but I went ahead and made one anyway. Out of the blue I was called 2 – 3 weeks later and told my appointment was just a fill in. Having waited this long I had no choice but to make last minute arrangements to see her on the day of the call. Dr Trebilcock charged me $ 500 for an initial consultation and then charged me $ 100 for a 10 minutes follow up phone call. She prescribed me over 25 supplement to take every day and started feeling a lot worse than when started I stated seeing her.
I went to see Dr. Trebilcock for sleep and digestion and not only did I not feel better, I instead started to have more anxiety and nervousness during the day and in the evenings due to way she handled me as a patient and requiring me to take 25 supplements a day. Its worth noting that most supplements I purchased from her office I could buy online for a lot less.
I called her office and sent her an email to inform them the treatment wasn’t working and I did not feel good but the office never returned my calls and she never had time to reply to any of my emails. I had to wait one or two weeks for my next appointment to speak with her.
I will never go back to this office and will never recommend Dr. Tamara D. Trebilcock to anyone.

I found Dr. Trebilcock while looking for answers for my daughter. She brought my daughter back from sickly to healthy and vibrant. In the process, I found her to be kind and compassionate, willing to work with you (my teenage daughter could be difficult when it came to compliance), and gifted medically – or at the very least, exceedingly intuitive. I ended up going to her after seeing what an incredible job she did. However, when she went full time in Santa Monica, I didn’t see her as much.
I recently found my way back to her after being diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis. RA is an auto-​immune disease for which main stream medicine has no cure; they don’t expect you to get better. Though Dr. Trebilcock wouldn’t say I was cured, I don’t feel a fraction of the disabilitating pain that I used to feel on a daily basis. In fact, during the process, I felt completely comfortable with my improvement, but she encouraged me to continue and try something else, feeling that I could do even better. She was right! I feel like she has given me another miracle – first with my daughter, now me.
I cannot say enough about Dr. Trebilcock and her trusty staff. If I lived closer, I wouldn’t bother to see any other doctor. I have my every need taken care of in a way that supports my whole body and whole health. I no longer have to worry about the potentially catastrophic side effects of the drugs that are supposed to save me. I am living virtually pain free, and doing things again that I thought were allocated to days of yore. I have nothing but gratitude for the fact that my family has found such an exceptional doctor. If you are looking for answers, Dr. Trebilcock was the only person that was able to help my daughter after years of frustrated doctors throwing up their hands, and the only one that was able to help me naturally, while unexpectedly returning to me the energy and vitality of my youth. See her!

I have been seeing Dr. Trebilcock for a little over 2 years now. Initially I went to her because I’ve been the same weight for 20 years of my adult life and for no reason, 5 lbs. had mysteriously appeared on my small frame. This may sound shallow but with the weight came lethargy, moodiness, sleep issues and more. I had not changed my eating or exercise habits but I am 45 years old so yes, it was my hormones!
Through the most complete health history I’ve ever discussed with any doctor and a little bit of testing, Dr. Trebilcock created a program for me that has changed my life. The pounds disappeared as magically as they appeared and my adrenal glands can handle the stresses of everyday life again!
I now also see Dr. T for acute sinus issues, which she always improves with tinctures and supplements and she most recently helped through recovery of an invasive surgery.
I’ve read all her reviews on this site and 99% are 5 stars. The exception is Indigo P. and all I can ask is, «how long did she allocate to this process?» Our bodies don’t break down overnight and they don’t repair themselves overnight. Naturopathic Medicine treats the root of the problem whereas traditional medicine prescribes drugs to alleviate symptoms. Which do you prefer?

I have been going to Dr. Trebilcock for 1 ½ years, she has pointed the way for me to get my life back. I was experiencing debilitating migraine headaches and three days a month in bed, and not wanting to be reliant on heavy meds, after a brief interviewing process I signed up with her. Today my migraines are gone, am on no western medication and no days hiding in bed. And i eat, sleep and live better and my husband is happy to have me back as well.
Doctor: Tamara, is a good listener, reads between lines, is very organized and keeps all your charts and info at her finger tips. She is kind, strong, non-​judgemental. I found ways to cut corners for financial reasons, and communicated as such, she is always understanding and really hears you! Lastly, i have been to one other Naturopath and she is more communicative, and through.
Staff: OMG, they are sweet, know you by name, always communicative. They have emailed me, papers i forgot, saved supplements for me for days.
Cost: Its all out of pocket, some things like tests you can put in to your insurance. I asked in the 15 free consultation for a price list and went home and tallied a years worth of treatment, to ready myself. They take HSA card. But she prescribes free things as well for me it was go swim in the ocean like a kid or meditate.

I first went to Dr. T after my husband started seeing her. He thought she could help my headaches, lack of energy and depression. I was hesitant at first, because I knew how costly the alternative medicine could be. But I saw what great gains he made and I felt better about investing in my health, if I knew it would work.
That was two and a half years ago, and she has completely re-​oriented my way of thinking about health. I was able to get off my SSRI’s, headaches are gone, and I actually have energy. It took a while and it IS expensive, but the way I think about it is I am buying quality of life. With her treatment plan, I feel like we are getting to the meat of my issues. Not just putting a band-​aid on it with medications.
I feel lucky to have Dr. T because not all Naturopaths are as good as her. I have recommended her to several friends who are having health problems and can’t find answers from western doctors. She has even advised me on supplements for my aging dog :)

Dr. Trebilcock and her staff have greatly improved my way of life and well being. I have recommended her to all my friends and family and they have witnessed the changes in my health and lifestyle. After seeing the conventional doctors and specialists without any diagnosis, I decided to take the naturopathic route.
After taking some tests, I was later diagnosed with several food allergies and thyroid issues. At the time it was very challenging to modify my eating habits and incorporate all of the supplements and medication, but I was determined to get healthy again. I am happy to say that I am completely happy with all of her recommendations and support, that I would have not received from any conventional doctor. I still see her twice a year and make sure that I am on track.

She humors me with my varying degrees of random concerns, because I try to go natural on everything having to do with my health, and Dr. Trebilcock IS an expert on alternative medicine so I want her at my side always.
When I stray from my health plan she works hard to create for me, she does not judge me (but I do feel a bit guilt since I’m going to her for help, yet denying myself complete dedication). She is supportive and patient with me, listening to everything I say as she works her magic to make a plan to reclaim my health.

I saw her a couple years ago for several issue. I felt disappointed first, in her demeanor which felt a bit patronizing, but more than that, she had me on a regimen of a host of quite pricey supplements and had me take a very expensive allergy panel– none of which improved my conditions though I followed the regimens religiously. Sadly, Dr. Trebilcock seemed less interested in hearing that I was not improving than she was when I initially came in hopeful and check book open. I don’t mean to say that Dr. Trebilcock doesn’t care and that the bill is the bottom line, but I really felt like she was incredibly removed from me as the patient and just really not in touch or willing to listen to how things were really going when they weren’t neat and easy.
