Yes, Tristen Nguyen graduated from UCLA with a degree in Neuroscience and went on to get her DDS at the most prestigious dental school in the country — top of her class. And yes, her office is outfitted with all of the state-​of-​the-​art high tech wizardry. As well, she does all her work rather then handing it off to an assistant, and does it for moderate prices. More important, she stands behind that work. And ok, she could rattle off to you numerous professional awards and accolades that have been bestowed on… blah, blah, blah. I just go there because she’s hot.

I have been seeing Dr. Nguyen for years but finally I remembered to post this on Unilocal.I have never felt more confident in ANY dentist I have ever seen. She is extremely accomplished and professional and she and her staff are very personable. Everyone I know remarks on how nice my teeth look. If she ever left the L.A. area I would either travel to where she moved or let my teeth rot out of my head. Seriously, finding a really good dentist is not easy but I think with Dr. Nguyen I’ve found the best.

I’ve been going to Dr. Nguyen for almost 2 years now and she’s great. I’ve had fillings, cleanings, invisalign, and a root canal with her and everything’s gone smoothly. The office staff is nice, knowledgeable, and quick to respond when I’ve called with any concerns. I’ve always been touchy with dentists but Dr. Nguyen takes great care in her patients.

Tristen and her team has been nothing but professional when they saw my review. She immediately contacted me and understood my frustration. She took me in and walked me through the process to re-​doing my root canal. I had three appointments to come in and fix the tooth. She has been consistent with answering any concerns I have regarding my tooth and the swollen gums around it. So far, the new permanent cap is doing well and staying on strong.

Like many of us, I can’t remember a time I enjoyed going to the dentist. The staff at this office truly understands this. They are extremely friendly and easy going, which really helps alleviate the small anxiety I still get before my annual check-​ups/​cleanings. How more at home can you make a person feel by letting them watch Netflix while undergoing their procedure? Nice touch!
Dr. Nguyen is really one in a million. Kind, genuine, informative, and a good conversationalist, she also has a really light touch. This is what I’d always dreaded about prior dentists: after an appointment, my gums would feel like they barely survived a run in with Dr. Hannibal Lecter. Dr. Nguyen’s alternative approach brings as much Zen to the process as possible. The atmosphere and décor aid in the soothing process; very soft colors and not an over abundance of the clinical white or dusky beige that I had grown accustomed to from prior dentists.
In short: it’s always great to see a dentist who really cares about your health and well being, and gives you that level of service that is so very rare and appreciated.

It’s not my regular dentist (yet) but they have really helped me. My temp crown fell off few days after it was placed by my regular doc. My doc wasn’t available to see me and I was in a very uncomfortable situation; I couldn’t eat or sleep with my crown in my mouth since I could easily swallow it, and I couldn’t eat without it bcs it was very very sensitive and painful without the crown protection. I was also advised not to use the ‘over the counter’ cement bcs it could mess up my bite.
I called this place and they were awesome! They were available to have me within an hour, the treatment was quick and they were more than fair payment wise! It was a nice experience which isn’t obvious when it comes to dentistry and dental billings.

Dr Nguyen does a fantastic job for all my dental needs. My boyfriend and I go for bi yearly cleanings/​check ups and are in and out with no issues. She has also helped me with orthodontic work. Her office is clean and the staff is friendly. I always recommend this place to my friends!

Just had another easy visit with Dr Nguyen — no cavities again! When I first went to Dr Nguyen a few years ago I had terrible problems with my teeth (my own fault, I have a phobia of dental work.) She was wonderful — always so supportive and understanding of my phobia. She fixed all my problems and now going to the dentist is not that big of a deal for me! Her whole staff is the same way, very friendly and nice. I always put a good review for her on Unilocal because I want everyone to know there’s a great dentist right here in Santa Monica!

I had a painful wisdom tooth infection and was able to make a next day appointment without ever visiting this dental office before! I then got my wisdom teeth out here two weeks later. I had no dental insurance and Dr. Nguyen made it an easy and accommodating process. She and her staff were very nice and professional and seemed like they really cared about me. The actual wisdom teeth extraction was quick and painless and I was surprised at how easy the whole process was for me. During my recovery I had some bleeding that I felt nervous about and I was able to make a next day appointment, on a Saturday! The whole time I was in their office, I felt like I could really trust Dr. Nguyen and her team and would recommend them to everyone!

Absolutely the best dental care I’ve received my whole life. I’m a chicken with needles but Dr. Nguyen was super patient and gentle. She took her time to review my teeth status and the plan to treat my problems. Her works look awesome because she’s like a perfectionist. This office has helped me so much with my dental insurance. I’m very grateful and feeling great with my healthy mouth.

Dr. Nguyen is absolutely amazing! Her staff members are super friendly and warm. I could not not say enough great things about this office. Whenever I come in to get my teeth cleaned, they always do such a great job. I would highly recommend Dr. Nguyen’s office and would say it really is as good as it gets with a Dentist office!

Dr. Nguyen has been my dentist for the past five years or so. Given the nature of the bi-​annual dreaded dentist appointment, I can honestly say seeing her brings me as close to saying «I’m looking forward to seeing the dentist» as I’ll ever get. Her staff is friendly and helpful. It’s super quick and easy to make an appointment. Her office is state-​of-​the-​art — cozy chairs, beautiful Santa Monica view from the 6^th floor suite, TVs with Netflix to distract you from whatever somewhat awful procedure you might be having done. She does the cleanings herself and they are quick and painless. During my last visit, I had the Zoom whitening treatment done. I am a bit claustrophobic and became a little anxious during the procedure. She has a very calming bedside manner and made me feel very relaxed so that I was able to finish the procedure. So glad I did.
If you’re looking for a dentist on the west-​side, Dr. Nguyen should be your first choice.

Dr. Nguyen is the best, can’t recommend her more. She and her staff are very pleasant, and make it easy to go in. The whole thing is simple, from making the appointment, the reminders, and even in the chair.
I went through all of «It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia» while I was getting my root canal and 12 cavities fixed (it was about 8 years since I got work done). But they made the process easy, and explained all my options with the insurance.
Her work was always set within a few hours and I could use the teeth as soon as the numbness went away.
Super high quality of work, and great people. Go here for sure.

Dr. Nguyen and her staff are amazing — why?
1. I completely spaced out and was missing my appointment. They called me and were able to squeeze me in… and were so nice about it!
2. Even when I’m not causing havoc on their schedule — they always get me in and out super fast — I don’t think I’ve ever had to wait to get in the chair and they are just so professional, so friendly and they are great at what they do because
3. I have sensitive teeth… I have to brush with Sensodyne and so I know I can’t get a proper cleaning without a little bit of discomfort but Dr. Dguyen and her staff are so far the most thorough yet gentle with my sensitive areas.
4. All the tech… and a beautiful office. They have all the latest technology everything is top notch.
And last but not least — they are friendly, courteous and as I said professional.
Highly recommend.

I found Dr. Nguyen when I needed to have my wisdom teeth removed last summer. She made the process as pain free as possible and the actual extractions took about 20 minutes for all four wisdom teeth. She sent me on my way and called me later that night to check in and see how I was doing. If you need to have your wisdom teeth removed, see Dr. Nguyen!

OK, so I first saw Dr Nguyen just over a year ago after reading the reviews on Unilocal and going to her very informative website. I hadn’t been to a dentist in years and of course I was nervous about what was going on in my mouth.
From the moment I walked in Dr Nguyen and her staff made me feel at ease and relaxed! Everything from the procedures performed to the complete breakdown of my out of pocket costs was clearly explained and you know what? The prices are reasonable compared to my previous dentist. I just really like how much I’m paying without any surprises.
Anyone that is looking for a professional, extremely competent dentist cannot go wrong with Dr Nguyen!

The staff here was reasonably friendly, but seemed to be a bit stressed out. Dr. Nguyen did an excellent job on my general checkup and cleaning.
However, when I referred a friend to Dr. Nguyen, she really messed up several procedures on her teeth (as per other dentists she saw to correct the problems). She had cavities form under fillings she had done and a crown that came off several times. When my friend called to see if it could be corrected, Dr. Nguyen would not admit her mistake and got rude and defensive. My friend had to go to another dentist’s office, on her own dime, to have them fix what Dr. Nguyen had done wrong. I felt so bad that I had referred my friend to her, but I did not know. If you need more than a cleaning, I would advise caution.
I see another user recently had a similar experience. It seems to me that Dr. Nguyen is a very intelligent dental practitioner and I would think that some continuing education and training in such procedures would help her to improve in this area.
I do not like leaving negative reviews, but I feel honesty is important when it comes to healthcare.

Okay, since there is no pictures, let me describe you the new experience. First off they moved up — literally. from the old dungeon digs on the first floor to the penthouse of this medical complex. Walking in gave me a me a surprise of «this cannot be a dentist office, this is more like those plastic surgery offices», nope… it was a dentist office. I sat down in the lobby (waiting room is OLD) and was guided to my room which I can only describe as «better than my apartment». There’s even a TV! my apartment has the bunny ears, so it is already better! I must say the service from the friendly staff is always great, I consider them family… what other dentist and staff make you feel at home that way? — that’s what I thought!
Anyway, its been a years since I wrote my first review and I recommend them to anyone!
This weekend I’ll plant my mangos, I hope to invite the staff in 8 – 10 years when its grown for a mango party!
