AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

Came here to get a second opinion after dealership quoted me a price to replace the starter. Aamco ran my car through their series of tests and told me it did not need to be replaced.
Although I agreed to pay $ 110 for their diagnostic test, they didn’t charge me because he didn’t make any repairs, even though they evaluated the car for over 2 hours…
Trustful and honest team and I have found my new mechanic.

Came here on a friend’s recommendation. My check engine light came on, and Mark’s crew went to work. They came back with an answer in about an hour and gave me several options, including one that entailed how to live with it without any work. The diagnostic test was $ 110 but it was worth it. I left to shop around at other shops and Aamco’s price was the lowest. It was just the Air-​to-​Fuel Ratio sensor. They found me a cheaper after market part so altogether I only spent $ 400. The shop got the part and had me back in my car in under 3 hours. They explain every detail and take the time to walk you through every step of the process. I felt like a car expert after my visit. Mark and Max are great. Friendly, honest service.

I tell ya, it ain’t easy finding a good quality mechanic you can trust these days. I’m fortunate to have Mark in our lives, he is the man! Honest and fair he won’t try to swindle you like other mechanics I’ve come across AND he’s a genius with cars. I call him the the Car Doctor and I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

People that give anything less than 5 stars are most likely crooks themselves. I have a Cherokee SRT that needed a brake job but it was expensive and hard to find parts for. Mark told me if I could find Mopar original parts myself (which I did on
) he would just charge me labor. That’s not much skin in it for him, but him and Keith are so honest and decent, they just do what’s right. Bravo and big recommendations to them. Again, 1 star reviews are probably the 5% of humans who exist that (no matter what level of customer service you give them) have something negative to say!

Amazing work by this crew. I never liked the way my wife’s 2008 Enclave shifted. It always felt like it was in the wrong gear. At 100,000 miles the transmission went out. Mark matched a much lower price from another shop, and promised me a better job. We got it, the car shifts like it should for the fist time in 70,000 miles. I can stomp on it, and it down shifts and accelerates like it should. The transmission was not an easy one to do properly, but these guys did it. Thanks, Mark

This is only the 2^nd time I have used this AAMCO since moving back to the SCV but both times I have received honest service at a reasonable cost. Mark is always finding ways of getting the job done at the lowest cost. My latest repair was for a sheared bolt in the rear suspension of my Pontiac Vibe. To extract the remaining part of the bolt would have cost $ 700 ($ 900 at the dealer) by dropping the rear suspension assembly. Mark figured out how to weld a «replacement» head on the bolt while pushing the linkage up against the uni-​body. The result worked and the cost was $ 165. I would definitely recommend this AAMCO to anyone I know. It is hard to find an honest mechanic/​shop these days so support the ones that still are.

I have been coming to this Aamco since I had my first car. They have always been quick and honest. Mark gives me the best price options and bottom line of immediate repairs needed or ones that can wait. They never pressure me and make me feel like a priority. Thanks Aamco!

I had to decide whether to put $$ into my older vehicle or use that money as a down payment towards a new/​newer one. After speaking with Mark, the owner, I decided to purchase a used transmission which lowered the cost. The staff was friendly and helpful from beginning to end. I’ve been to this Aamco previously and will definitely be returning for any of my future automotive transmission needs.

After getting a VERY expensive estimate from the Subaru dealer, I called and received an estimate that was $ 1300 less than the dealer. They promised to have the repairs completed within a week. Three days I received a call that the repairs were finished. Good news, it wasn’t the transmission after all. Paid far less than quote! Very honest and the car runs great.

I’ll tell ya, I’ll never come back here again! I came in ’cause my check engine light suddenly came on, and they’re supposed to run the codes and diagnose it for free. Brought the car in and ‘Mark’ sat me down and told me they’d take a look at it and call me in an hour or an hour and a half and let me know what the problem was. Went home and four hours later still no call back, so I called them, and the kid on the phone said he was sorry and was swamped with biz and forgot. Wow. So they told me they found four codes show up and still more could be wrong, so they wanted me to leave the car overnight so in the morning they could more thoroughly trouble-​shoot. Told me to call by 10 in the morning and they should know the score by then. Waited ’til almost noon then called and then was told it was gonna cost me $ 300 for the diagnosis! I couldn’t believe it, and THAT’S not even fixing anything! I told the guy a couple days before I had someone install some interior lights and they were into the fuse box, in case that could throw up a code. He said maybe. He’s telling me this is bad and that’s bad – these other things may or maybe not causing the light to be on. Still could be OTHER things wrong! This Mark guy is a total salesman— trying to justify why he wants to charge me over $ 1000 to fix it! I said no, no! He taped up a couple wires he said could be shorting, and I told him to forget it and just reset it. No other work to be done. He said in a couple days the light would just come on again and I told home fine. Not gonna put that kind of money into the car now. So here it is over a MONTH later. and the light never came back on! In my mind, these guys are sheisters looking to pad the bill with unnecessary work to jack up the bill! Who needs that kind of mechanic? Just the kind I’ve tried to AVOID! Well, from now on I will! Never will I go back there for any reason! $ 300 wasted for nothing! Would give these guys NO stars if I could!

I have come in here a few times and every time they are always very nice and honest. I dont feel like Ive been ripped off at all which is sometimes hard to find at car repair places. They always explain the problems to me so I can understand (I am not car savvy at all!) and the job gets done efficiently. I really appreciate all they have done. Highly recommended!

Mark over at AAMCO transmissions is a very honest mechanic. I take my Ford F-​150 into mark all the time ranging from small mechanical problems to large mechanical issues because I put so many miles on the poor car it really needs it, AAMCO transmission is always fairly priced and they will never over quote you for repairs.

I was traveling into town for a short trip when my engine light came on. Brought it to AAMCO because I always trust them and they are great at doing diagnostics testing. Mark (the owner) got to my car in a timely manner, he was super friendly and helpful with my situation.
Luckily it ended up not being too serious of a problem. Told him I was traveling a long distance to ensure my car would be okay. Mark reassured me that the car would be fine, but would need to be brought in when I got back home.
The next day, I even received a call from Mark just checking in on how my trip back was and if my car was still running fine. Really a top notch guy. I would definitely bring my car back if needed. Thank you!

I went in to this Aamco location when my check engine light came on. They saw me right away, diagnosed it (gas cap wasn’t on all the way!) and explained some basic maintenance things I could be doing to help my car run better. They were very professional, very friendly and didn’t charge me anything for the diagnosis. I will definitely be back to have them do some basic maintenance. Overall, a great experience!

It’s tough finding a mechanic you can trust… but we seem to have done that with AAMCO in Newhall. I brought my car in and Mark was extremely thorough in providing a diagnosis. The repair was going to be several thousand dollars but Mark went out of his way to see if he could find a used part or a refurbished one so that we didn’t have to spend as much money as originally thought. He also provided us with a suggestion as to how to live with the problem for a little while longer while we decide whether or not to keep this car or not. By doing that he gave up an expensive repair but gained a customer (three actually if you count my husband and daughter) for life. Mark is a very knowledgeable guy and has been wonderful in explaining issues to us and puts the customer first.

I had a problem with my car, and I took it to mark at the Aamco in Santa Clarita to check the check engine light. It ended up been the Transmission, I had an extend warranty on my Ford Explorer. The warranty company did not want to pay for it, but mark dealt with them, and was able to get me a new transmission.
It was a head ache dealing with the warranty company, that I did not had to deal with. He made this deal so much easier and painless. Work was done in a timely manner.

My dad always told me «Finding an honest mechanic is like finding gold». The guys at AAMCO on Railroad Avenue are where he takes his car, and it’s where I take mine.
Mark’s goal is clearly to get you back on the road comfortably and safely, and he’s not once failed me on that. He actually cares, and it’s clear that his customer’s best interests are in mind with every automobile that comes into his shop. His expertise and patience are unmatched by anyone else I’ve dealt with, and all I can say is I am grateful to have found gold here in Santa Clarita.

I took my Ford Expedition for a rebuild and they took great care of me. The service was great and kept me informed at all times. I will be going back there to take my S10 because I know that I will getting great service.

Had the filter and fluid change at this Aamco. The filter fell off in the pan had to have the car towed. Also 2 qts. low but no leaks? Do yourself a favor and go to The Transmisson Man, tell him Aamco sent you!

When it comes to auto mechanics in the Santa Clarita Valley, I really don’t know anyone as honest and as accurate as Mark at Aamco in Saugus. I’ve been using this same mechanic for the past four-​years and have never once had any doubts about the integrity of his charges, or the validity of his labor.
I’ve taken Buicks, Land Rovers, Jeeps, Chryslers, Fords, Chevys, and Nissans into this shop without ever once being turned away or over charged. It takes an alarming amount of expertise in your field to be able to operate such a wide range of services. This shop has one thing that few shops have, and that’s honesty. I’ve straight up had this guy tell me to call it quits on a car. It would have cost me a thousand dollars more to fix it than the car was actually worth. Wow. That’s a rarity.
With the backing of the Aamco name and the community accolades this company receives yearly, their is no question that this shop will be a longtime staple in the Santa Clarita community. Thanks Mark for your awesome service and dedication to always treating me and my family fairly, a good mechanic is hard to find, and luckily I found one.
