Vivien’s Therapeutic Massage Studio

One of the most amazing massages I’ve ever had in my life. Vivien did the Chinese medical massage on me and at times nearly brought me to tears but by the time I left I’ve never felt more relaxed. I will definitely see her every time I am in the Northern California area. And I highly recommend anyone reading this Unilocal review go see her if you’re looking for a massage that actually will help you.

I have a really bad back and Vivien is awesome with Muscles, She has trained for many years and is studying to be a Acupuncturist and knows the trigger points. She does my back wonders and she listens and is very caring. Go see her.

I’m still emotional over the quality of this massage so you have to bare with me. Today is Saturday, September 6^th. Yesterday, I did a 15 mile round trip hike in Yosemite that was taxing on my 6’3″ 225lb frame. I came home this morning and told my wife I was in dire need of a massage. This place had several five star reviews and despite not being part of a large gym or resort I decided to trust my fellow Unilocalers and go for it. I’m so grateful I did, I can’t emphasize it enough with written words.
I came in for the massage this afternoon having scheduled a 90 minute deep-​tissue massage, already soar and fearing what was coming for my body as I truly pushed it for myself.
Upon entering, the masseuse recognized that this was my first time at her parlor and asked why I was there? I explained I had done a tough hike (for me), and was in need of some help! Before even entering the massage room she had me sit in the waiting chair and asked me more questions about where I was soar and what I had been doing yesterday. She asked and pointed exactly to where I was in discomfort with a level of care and detail I have not experienced. She even wanted to know if there were areas like the knees or ankles that were also bothering me. I just got the feeling I was in the hands of a master who truly desires to excel in her profession, and had studied the art for decades.
What happened next was the most amazing and relaxing Asian-​Style massage I have ever experienced. While maintaining a 100% professional atmosphere, she pulled, pushed, twisted, and massaged my body into a state of comfort and relaxation I can’t sufficiently describe. I had at least a dozen different techniques used on me that were completely new. It was just awesome.
I’ve had dozens and dozens of 80 – 90 minute massages at 5 star resorts all over the place. Parrot Cay in the Turks and Caicos is great, and the Fontainebleau in Miami is fantastic. I would happily and without question or hesitation seek this masseuse out over all of those top level spas. Not even close. She is Awesome!!!

Ok. Vivien is… Awesome! It was my first time getting this Asian style massage, which is really a mix of stretches, physical therapy and massage therapy. This lady knows her stuff. She is a student of her craft and despite probably being in her 50s, she’s still pursues further education.
The one issue I have is that her English is still fairly week, but it honestly is worth struggling to communicate to have a pro like her get my body straightened out.

Vivien’s Therapeutic Massage was recommended by my traditional Physical Therapist. Since my traditional therapy was not effective for my shoulder and back so he suggested I try Vivien. I am so grateful. She’s great! I began seeing her 1x per week and in 1 month i had significant mobility less pain. I continue to see her on a regular basis. She takes pride in her work, her prices are very reasonable, her facilities are clean and it’s a peaceful environment. If you are serious about getting those knots out and feeling better make an appointment. She’s is very flexible with scheduling as well. I recommend her whole heatedly.

Vivien does an excellent job at great rates. I would call her style Chinese /​Ashiatsu fusion. She’s strong, can and will walk on your back, and takes direction well. English can be challenging, but she more than makes up for it in enthusiasm and effort (I usually do the 70 min massage and she runs over :)). I drive 25 mins from pleasant hill to see her… And while she’s not necessarily the best therapist I’ve ever had, (I run an athletic club in SF with 6 therapists on staff), she is excellent… and an amazing value.

I was pleased to find Viven in San Ramon. I have tried a number of masseuses in the last three years related to recovery from the stress of training for ironman and triathlons. I also have been seeking a knowledgeable acupressure professional as I find the needles with acupuncture uncomfortable. She gives a GREAT deep tissue massage. Her pricing is very reasonable too.
Vivien is trained in Eastern Acupressure practice and carries Western CMT credentials. At times I struggle with her English, but her ability seems to compensate. I have developed a trust with her based on her results in improving my comfort.
I was referred to her by my Physical Therapist, a large sports therapy practice in San Ramon.
