The décor is homey but the service was SO slow. Granted we came Christmas Eve, and there was 1 server, 1 busboy, a hostess and what seemed to be the manager; but staffing on the floor aside it took an entire hour for our food to come out. We had a 5:30 reservation and got our food at 6:45, and had to ask for the check. The side salad was not memorable and very bitter, and the tofu in the side of miso soup tasted prepackaged and mine also wasn’t cooked through. The tempura plates lacked variety of veggies because you get three whole pieces of potato, but no zucchini/eggplant/pumpkin. Maybe we should’ve ordered sushi, because that seems to be the specialty here; but the overall service and wait for the food after ordering was way too slow.

I can’t believe this place only has 3 stars right now! We ordered 7 rolls plus 2 orders of Gyoza and everything was FANTASTIC! Including the service! The menu online doesn’t show a ton of their rolls — it was so hard to decide because everything sounded so good! We were excited to find a close«hole in the wall» type of sushi place. We will definitely be back!

I am blown away that this place only has 3 stars. YOUPEOPLEDON’T KNOWWHATTOORDERTHEN. Ahaha, I just feel very strongly for my love for this Japanese restaurant. It still continues to be my all time favorite from everywhere I’ve ever been. Service is always great, atmosphere is quirky and cute and food always comes promptly. What to order to unlock the secrets of the universe: –Lion King Roll, Tiger Roll, Best of Best Roll –Sukiyaki: perfect and tasty –Chicken Teriyake: classic and done correct –Tempura: never too oily. Perfect texture and shrimp is fresh –Katsudon: UGH. YES. So basically all my favorite Japanese foods done the best way possible. Just go here. Your welcome!

Cool décor, nice date resturant. Authentic waitress and staff, real Japanese people, not Korean or Chinese. Enjoyed the sushi and tonkatsu. The waitress Mi Mi was very nice. The only thing I did not like was the portion size. For the money I want more food!

We always go here for special occasions. It seems like a special occasions kind of place. We recently went when my sister came home from spring break. We all always enjoy our food. We go here at least once a month, if not more. Some food highlights: — Best of the Best: sushi. comes with salmon(I think?) and mango on top. I believe it is a california roll inside with cream cheese. I’m not completely sure of what it is but my mom orders it every time and she loves it. I always snag a piece cuz it’s delish. — Pineapple fried rice: seriously the most beautiful presentation ever. It comes in a pineapple! How cool is that. Plus it is freaking yummy. Sometimes I will just order it for myself and have food for the rest of the week. It is a very big portion. Also perfect for the vegetarians out there! Not sure if comes with eggs but when I was vegan, I would ask for no eggs and they did it no problem. — endamame gyoza: the vegetarian potsticker! So good. I get this appetizer every time. — veggie soba noodes(?), I am not sure about what it is but it is the only veggie soups they have. It is vegetarian friendly. They use a veggie broth instead of a meat broth. It is a very large portion. Again, I would take the rest home and have food for a few days. The servers are very friendly. They used to have a man who waits tables and refills water but he is gone now. I hope he is doing well because he is the most friendly person I have ever met! He worked so hard and he was always smiling and he would always joke around with us. He definitely made the experience extra fun. OHHH!!! And last time we went, the were playing Frozen(no sound though). I loved it cuz I love Frozen. My sister sat across from me so she couldn’t see it. Ha. Anyway, go here. It is very YUM.(:

I came once with a group of my friends, and it was an amazing experience. Typically, large groups scare off certain places that I’ve been to. Our waitress in this restaurant though, was kind, attentive, professional, and was dressed in a kimono. The inside of the restaurant was very cute, had a good atmosphere and was very appealing. It appeared to be very family friendly. A Disney movie was playing in one side of the restaurant and it was overall very enjoyable. I happened to arrive during«happy hour menu» time. The food that we ordered from that menu was not only delicious but plentiful. And in the end they gave our entire group complimentary orange sherbet for desert. It was an amazing experience, I would defiantly return if I lived closer. Highly recommend.

After Suwa closed down, this became my family’s go-to place for sushi. The dinner combination is $ 19.95 and comes with a salad, miso soup, a selected entrée, and green tea ice cream. I ordered the salmon teriyaki and tempura entrée. The salmon teriyaki tasted alright, but I had difficulty pulling the layers apart. The tempura was decent and included an eclectic assortment of sweet potato, broccoli, green bell pepper, mushroom, shrimp, and carrot. On another visit, I ordered the tempura udon. The broth of the tempura udon was too salty for my taste. I’d recommend trying the Super California Roll which comes with real crab, avocado, unagi, and topeko. There’s nothing terribly wrong with the food, but for some reason, I just don’t feel quite at home here as I did at Suwa.

Went here on a Sunday, it was ok server was not very nice. I ordered a glass of wine bad choice they either don’t keep it cool or it was sitting around to long. The sushi itself was decent nothing to write home about. Don’t think I will be going back.

I have no stars for this place! I came in one night with my girlfriend. As soon as we walked in they sat us, as soon as we sat down little fruit flies were flying around! So disgusting and turned off immediately! We ordered one roll of caterpillar sushi and my intuition was right on! The avocado looked and tasted old, the roll wasn’t chopped right, we didn’t want to eat anymore due to how turned off we were. We asked for the check and went to Itto sushi instead! I don’t recommend anyone go to miraku. Not a very pleasant place for sushi.

Ye most delicious and amazingly fresh sushi you will ever have! The rolls are super looongggggg but each bite is thinner with minimal rice so you actually get to taste the ingredients! The service is amaizng too! Me and my whole family(aunts, uncles, gparents, …) just love them! Give them a try ! You WILL be hooked!

This restaurant has the worst customer service I have ever witnessed. My coworker and I went in to order some lunch to go. We were greeted by a woman who appeared to be the manager, she gave us menus and told us to look them over. At the time she was talking to an alarm installation guy. So, we decide what we want but she is clearly preoccupied. She is talking to the alarm guy, waiting on tables… she tells us, hold on let me check on my customers.(ummm aren’t we customers too?) she leaves us standing there waiting to «place» our order as she goes to check on different tables. She finally makes her way back to us and picks up a pad of paper, we were assuming to finally take our order… A couple of people walk in the door. I couldn’t believe it when she told us, just wait another minute and proceeded to seat the people who had JUST arrived after we had been waiting over 20 minutes to simply place our order! Mind you we were on our lunch break and had limited time as well. My coworker and I just looked at each other like, is she serious? We walked out and I decided she didn’t deserve my business. Each customer should be treated the same. I couldn’t even believe she was in a management type position. Very sad. I didn’t even want to give the one star I gave.

VERY bad!!! If i can give a zero star i would!!! The woman manger or perhaps owner RUDE!!! We ordered Beef terryaki, meet was SO tough when I complained they gave me a hard time that they only use ribeye and that people drive from all over to come there to eat their ribeye, for reals, I THINKNOT!!! I had to stand my ground and ask for a refund with a BATTLE, what NERVE of them and just out right IGNORANT!!! People who I talk to say they use to be good back 4 – 5 years ago and I would agree with that. I should had took video of my son & I trying to cut the beef, struggling to chew it and spitting it out on our plate, like RUBBER, IIIICK!!! NEVER, NEVER, NEVER again will I EVER eat there. I recommend Senro sushi across the street in between safeway and cvs, Ito sushi in the plaza near eric’s deli., Danville– Akira bistro and dublin– Yanagi, Alamo-Hal-la sush, just OK! just ok!

I was in the area for a conference a couple months ago and decided to try this place since I was in the mood for sushi. Boy, I’m glad I did. It happened to be happy hour, so I ordered the 2 rolls, kaki fry oysters, and edamame. I was shocked by how much food I got for under $ 15! I wouldn’t say it was the best sushi I’ve ever had, but it was more than decent. The service was fast, the place was clean, and you just can’t beat the price. I’ll come again if I’m in the area.

Great place! Just had lunch here with some friends for a birthday and it was an interesting experience. All I can say is that if you have a birthday, they go all out for you here. They have their own recording of a birthday song that they play over the sound system and sing to you while serving a plate of warm fish with a candle stuck on it! Oh ya, and the birthday person gets a crown. Food was delicious too!

Eh. This place is fine. I’m not blown away by it. My tuna an white tuna nigiri was not great last night and they have been out of super white tuna the last few times I’ve gone. The more Americanized rolls my brother got were good I just had it in my head this was a good place to go more traditional. I’ve also been sushi spoiled in LA and probably in life so for the area this might be great.

Great $ 10 combo lunch special where you pick two things and get soup, salad and rice. The sushi is good and fresh but the prices are weird. Some things on the menu are severely underpriced and some are severely overpriced so pay attention to cost here. Decorations are weird and mismatched but cool to look at. Slow service though.

I like this place. I went here for lunch with some co-workers and the first thing you see is gaudy vases, fuzzy plants, and colorful paintings hanging on the wall. Who doesn’t like tacky right? Lunch specials I was all for. For having a sushi hankering, I got my fill. The bentos are humungous and could feed a small village. Well today, it was feeding a village of two – myself and my grumbling baby inside my belly. I ordered the teriyaki salmon bento which cake with a slender slice of salmon, a bowl of rice, tempura shrimp and veggies, pickled fruit?, a tiny salad, and 5CA rolls. So good, so filling, so in my price range of 11.95. Booyhah. Big menu, tacky décor, oh and the service was pretty fast. They wear kimonos here too. The lighting in the bathroom could be a tad brighter: I was having trouble seeing in the stall and post peeing had imagined being in a bunker with dim red lighting. Nope, I’m in a bathroom. Will come again for lunch, not sure about dinner though. I know waaay too many sushi places to go to for dinner that I’m already in love with.

Came here during happy hour(5 – 6:30pm on a weekday). Hard to find this place because you can’t see it from the street. Lots of sushi rolls to select from, but they’re all mediocre. Service was confusing; the waitress asked after ordering if I wanted miso soup and salad, as if they’re not complimentary. I didn’t get either, so I’m still not sure if they’re complimentary, like they usually are at sushi restaurants. At the end of the meal, she asked if I wanted ice cream: green tea or rainbow. This time, I asked if it was complimentary and she said yes. I was curious what the rainbow ice cream was, so I went with that option, thinking it was something unique; turns out, it was just sorbet. Ordered: Salmon Skin Roll, 6 pieces, $ 3.99 Y2K Roll, 12 small pieces, $ 5 Bubba Roll, 6 pieces, $ 5 Lion King, 8 pieces, $ 8.99

It’s a little farther than the other sushi places by my work, but my coworker loves it and insisted we try it. Walking in… this place sort’ve looks like a modern trying to be hip restaurant? I instantly thought of something along the lines of Tao in Vegas. There are glowing LEDs and modern art work like vases with colorful gel candle wax in them. I ordered the 3 item bento, CHEAP lunch price, my total came out to be $ 12.95. The $ 12.95 included, miso soup, salad, vegetable tempura, california roll, and salmon shioyaki. To my surprise a heavier dense little baggy came out of my box as well. FREEEDAMAME. mmmmm I may forgo the salad next time. It wasn’t the typical miso dressing. it was more sour-y, tart, and salty. Really dark as well… This place remembered to cut the air holes in my tempura box so by the time I got to the office it wasn’t all soggy. PLUS for that. The California roll, was a california roll, it wasn’t spectacular but it wasn’t terrible either. The Shioyaki was grilled wonderfully! It had the perfect crisp outside and wasn’t overcooked. It was a pretty fatty piece but I just peeled the top part off and was good to go. I need to come back to try the rolls, I love sushi for all the sashimi and raw rolls. *side note: my coworker says if you eat there, they give you free ice cream. Green tea, rainbow, or mango. Too bad my lunches aren’t long enough to actually enjoy this.
