Wow. This place is a hidden gem! My boyfriend was so excited to show me this place and believe me I had my doubts when I felt like we were entering an industrial business building wasteland. But tucked away among these buildings is a true treasure. I can’t speak for everything off the menu, but if your looking for a good, cheap, meal for lunch or to-go for dinner this is the place to go. The Teriyaki Chicken Plate that comes with rice and salad is 8.95 and the must have item. They bring the whole dish on one plate but you almost need two because the portion is so big. I only finished half and had leftover for later. The chicken teriyaki is on point everyone. Don’t let the outer appearance fool you.

This is amazing little hidden gem of Marin sandwich places. I highly recommend the Teriyaki sandwich.

They’re both kind. Food quality is really great. The portion is really huge, regarding the price. Will come back again.

This place is kind of hidden but once you’ve checked it out then you’ll be going more often. Quick and fillings! not To mention affordable! WEll maintained place for a mom and pop place. The portions are huge and for a cheap price! Check out the meal of the day. I’ve had the burgers, spaghetti and teriyaki chicken and I’d say for under $ 10 it was worth it! Teriyaki and rice fills you up! The pasta is OK but they give you a lot of garlic bread. Not bad for a place like this though. Avocado burger is pretty good! Chilli cheese fries are delish! Call ahead so you can have your food ready as you arrive for lunch! Staff is friendly! for a quick, cheap but filling lunch, I’d suggest Smokey’s! Where else can you get a lot of food for under $ 10?!

Delicious, cheap, and huge! Smoky’s is the best bang for your buck if you are looking for a quick and easy meal. Favorites include bacon cheeseburger and teriyaki chicken. An entire meal is under $ 10 per person. Excellent service and always clean. Enjoy!

For a town that is pretty dull, Smoky’s is one of the best places to go to lunch in San Rafael. Everything I’ve tried on their menu is great and is fresh. Like others on Unilocal have mentioned, you can’t go wrong with the Teriyaki chicken special with white rice and a salad. The atmosphere is very casual as it caters to the local businesses and contractors in the area. The owners are there everyday and are very nice people. I also recommend calling your order in ahead of time if you are in a rush.

One star — they don’t have veggie burgers! So easy to add to your menu and I’m sure I’m not the only person that has asked. Just sad.

Smoky’s, so we meet again! Yes, I’ve been avoiding you like the plague, but you understand, right? You traumatized me back in early ’08 and it took me a long time to give you a second chance. I’m really glad to see you cleaned up your act during my recent visit. Your dining room was clean. Your employees were nice. Even your food – oh the humanity – was substantially better. I really appreciate that you offered me, a mere mortal/vegetarian, an avocado and cheese sandwich when I asked if you had any vegetarian sandwich options. Let me tell you about your sandwich. The bread was pretty good. It had just the right amount of avocado and cheese on it. The fixings were respectable too. And I really appreciate that you didn’t water down the mayo this time. Mad props to you, buddy. Now, listen here, I don’t want you to be upset that I didn’t give you 4 stars. You see, other Unilocalers may toss around 4 stars like they are hotel reservation systems, but I take care of mine. You could one day get 4 stars from me. My recommendations: Switch to red onions, use fresher tomatoes, and for heaven’s sake get some cool air in your dining room so I don’t faint from the stuffiness. You can do it!

This little deli is great for lunch or breakfast. The plates are LARGE and the prices are too low to believe. The regulars here work in the area and know to order ahead for pick-up or eat-in. Service is terrific by a very nice husband and wife team who work hard to prepare fast and delicious meals. The Teriyaki Chicken and BLT’s are to die for but there is not a bad dish on the menu. Some people even buy extra sauce because it is so yummy. Finally, the place is tidy and clean and quiet so what’s wrong with a simple little lunch shop? Nothing. The old review from 2008 must have been there on a bad day because none of what he says is true and I have been there on dozens of occasions.

I work in the area and all my co-workers and I are fans of Smokies. Their Terriaki Chicken is the best although they give you way too much(only a bad thing if you try to eat it all). While some of their sandwiches are mediocre, their Smokie Melt and burgers are quite good. And as long as you have the fries there they rock. They get a bit soggy when you get them to go.
