Chito’s Mobile Glass

I was really worried when coming in that the whole process of replacing a window would be super expensive and time consuming! It really wasn’t. Took about 2 hours tops and was done very professionally and I’m really happy with the price too! Awesome place and awesome owners! Thanks guys :)

I’ve had the pleasure of getting 2 of my windows fixed at Chito’s shop. Both times the guys did a clean, professional job and delivered exactly what I wanted… not to mention at a great price!
***This a small family owned shop in historic downtown San Pedro when you’re looking for it drive by slow or you might miss it.***

I needed to get a new driver side window replaced after it got shattered from something hitting it on the freeway. I called around a few places to get some quotes and decided to go with a local place plus the price wasn’t bad. I called and talked to Chito, I asked if I could bring my car in the following day at noon, he said that would work. I gave him my name and number and that was that.
I brought my car to the shop the next day at noon but Chito wasn’t there. Javier was there instead and he didn’t really seem to know about me bringing my car in. He also didn’t know about a deposit, but said I didn’t need to give one since I was leaving my car behind. He was really nice but for the second time, I had to give my name and phone number. Not a big deal. I left my car and went to run some errands.
I got a call from Chito at about three saying my car was ready to be picked up. Quick job. Unfortunately I couldn’t go right that moment and told him I would be there by 5 since that was when they closed or so I thought. He told me that he would not be there because he had to go on another call and wouldn’t be back until after 6 which I still said worked for me since I couldn’t get there until 5 or later. He ended up calling me back saying someone would be at the shop waiting for me to get there at 5 so that I could get my car then. I said okay. I went to get my car just before five and a woman was there. I paid her and she gave me my key. The car looked great and had the new window. Since the shop is so small my car was parked on the street and I didn’t want to inspect the car while traffic was whizzing by so I drove my car around the corner to inspect it.
For the most part, everything looked okay. The top of the door trim (where you would rest your elbow) was loose compared to the other door. (2 years ago, I had the passenger side window replaced so I was comparing equal jobs done). The trim on my passenger side was tight and snug. After seeing this, I walked back to the shop and talked to the woman there. She said okay, thank you for bringing it to my attention, let me write down your name and number (for a third time) and Chito will call you back. Since then, I have not received a phone call. Plus, now that I have been driving my car, I hear wind crackling through the glass which I didn’t use to hear. It is almost like the glass doesn’t fit perfectly. It is extremely annoying to hear. I will take it to a better place to make sure everything is actually done right.
Don’t waste your money here, pay more to get it done right. The only reason they aren’t getting 1 star is because the people were nice and when the car isn’t moving, it looks great with the new glass.

Great job done quick at best price!!! I had a long crack in my windshield. Called All Star and Safelite. Then Miguel quoted me the best price plus no disposal fee and new molding included. I prefer to use a local small company anyways– support the local economy!!! Chito, Miguel and Javier finished my job on time, plus they dropped me off and picked me up from my home. I bought new wipers from Autozone across the street and they put them in for me for free! Highly recommended!!! N.B. Google Maps says they’re permanently closed which is in error. They’re very much open and have been in business for 14 years!

Want quick, reasonable service to replace your windshield, head over to Chito’s on Pacific between 4^th & 5^th St. They did a wonderful job putting in a new windshield including all the sealing and trim, gave me a good deal, and threw in a few small jobs for no extra charge (I needed wiper blades & arms and a brake light replaced.)
Miguel ordered the part needed immediately, had it within an hour to begin work and went above and beyond with the little details. He was working alone at the time so couldn’t leave the shop, but gave me the info I needed to pick up the wipers and bulbs at the Auto Zone across the street. Miguel had my car ready in less time than he quoted me, and phoned me when it was ready.
Call ahead to plan the work even if it needs to be done today, then call again when you are there so they can unblock the entryway for you — there is no back entrance. The shop is on the east side of Pacific, so drive west on 5^th St & right on Pacific to make it easy to enter.
As their name implies, there are times when they will come to you to do the work needed — probably depends on distance and type of work. Ask for this service if you need it.
It’s a small, family run business, they’re friendly helpful people, and they guarantee their work, so I’m ready to tell everybody about this great little find !
