Sundance Spas

Had a technician come out to look at our spa, which had a number of problems. The tech was friendly and helpful, so if you just need a tech, this is a good option.
However, when I independently priced the parts needed for repair, Paradise wanted to charge 2x the price relative to online ordering. I understand some markup for parts relative to an online retailer, but 200% is more than I’m willing to pay. (This amounted to nearly $ 300 additional for the parts I needed.)
So I ordered the parts separately, but when I called to request service help, I was told they don’t install parts ordered online (even though they’re manufacturer parts with the exact part numbers). In other words, Paradise costs $ 100 /​hour labor, plus several hundred additional in parts markup.
So I wouldn’t bother with them unless you have money to burn.

We bought a Sundance Sweetwater hot tub in 2001. It was delivered & installed in a few hours. We have used it nightly ever since. After 10 yrs the wet end pump broke, so we called Paradise and they scheduled a repair for a few days later. The repairman came (Jody) & was very efficient & friendly. He isolated the problem, fixed it & it was back on line. Last month it broke again & Jody came again & found a burned out capacitor on the pump motor. It is up & running again as good as new. I really like the folks at Paradise Valley Sundance Spas & Jody is the best!

Just a follow up on my last review, After writing this review I went to Paradise valley spa and spoke with Sun Lee, I should have spoken to Sun Lee before writing this review, Sun Lee at paradise valley spa is the person that originally sold me the spa and the covana cover had mentioned to repeatedly that if I ever needed anything to contact him so I did, I explained to Sun the issue I had, Sun Lee said give me a few days and I’ll take care of it, well today sitting in a dental chair, Sun Lee called a said that he had spoken to Bill the General Manager, Bill had told Sun Lee that he would be taking care of the issue I’m having. I’ll give on up date after the issue is taken care of. Till next time, I would recommend Sun Lee to all my family and friends.

cannot recommend sundance spas: around end of warranty trouble started. we have the spa now a bit more than 5 years and so far we had 2 plumbing leaks, the heater and a pump died. these repairs are on top of the expected replacements: the cover and ozonator went bad after around 4 years.

I have owned two Sundance spas, and the quality of both has been excellent. Our current spa needed it’s first service recently, and it is 10 years old! We owned the previous one for 10 years at our last house and it didn’t need service once.
But what’s REALLY impressive is the customer service we have received. In particular, Darby English-​Aboytes has gone WAY out of her way to provide customer service that completely exceeded my expectations. She always goes above and beyond, does what she says she will do, and keeps in contact to give updates on the status. Paradise Valley Spas is fortunate to have such a fabulous customer service employee… she is the kind of employee that will keep me recommending Paradise Valley Spas to my friends and family.

Run! I purchased a spa from this store. I had problems from the get go with how the spa would be delivered, I wish now four years later I went with my git. After less than two weeks of having the spa my shell discolored and after a service visit, no results and nothing was done. They just said it was normal and the MFG would not replace it. The cover ripped within a year which they did replace. Suddenly my spa started making a noise and vibrating. I had two site visits. First nice guy said it needed a $ 730 new pump, although my pump is not broken, second nice guy added foam and said to drain and move it, did nothing. I got a refund for my service call, called another hot tub repair and found out at one time the motor leaked and it wore the wood on the floor and the Motor is vibrating it, nothing I can do. So I am stuck with a 4 year old discolored hot tub that vibrates. RUNNNNNNNNN Go pay a little more and get a hot springs.

I went to several spa stores throughout the bay area over the last month, I found the Sundance products to be by far the highest quality and best looking and feeling of them all. I was impressed by the technology inherent in the 880 series and ended up deciding the Optima was ‘the tub’!
The sales staff were knowledgeable and took time to answer all my questions, they told me the difference between Sundance and ‘all the others’ which is why Sundance & Paradise Valley Spas earned my loyalty. I would HIGHLY recommend PVS to all my friends and family.

I went there with my daughter on 12÷28÷13. The receptionist was on the phone and ignored us. The never even looked up or indicated in anyway that she would help us. I actually stood in front of her desk.
There was a man in the back office who looked at us through the window then also ignored us.
My daughter and waited for 5 minutes then left. No one approached us at all and it’s a small store.
I was disappointed because Sundance Spas are supposed to be good.
When buying a spa from a dealer, service is important. If they don’t treat the customer good before the sale just think how they will treat you after. The dealer does all the warranty service.
Before we went there we at the Hot Springs Spa dealer up the street. They were pleasant and informative.

This review pertains to Paradise Valley Service for Sundance Spas on the Peninsula, a territory represented by Jody. We have had the spa for over ten years and it has had it share of out-​of warranty maintenance issues lately (pump motor replacement, flow switch clog, etc) that comes with age. Some of these things I can fix, some not. In the latter case, my service experience has been quite good.
Jody has been a great example of what good field service tech should be: punctual, dependable, knowledgeable, effective. He has become a trusted advisor and he’s certainly worth his labor rate. I would be happy if all my service experiences were like my dealings with Jody.
I kept this review to four stars due to to other organizational factors: the PVS office response has been sluggish in my experience, requiring more than one email or call to get an appointment every time and the PVS part markup is set too high, something closer to restaurant wine lists rather than internet era part availability.

Wonderful People, Great Service and above all, Quality Spas~!

This review is specifically for Jody and Mario, both technicians with Paradise Valley Spas. Jody called in the morning between 8&9 a.m. as I was told, and provided me with a time frame for the service repair that same day. He showed up right at noon which was great, so I didn’t have to wait around for 3 hours. We was polite, friendly and courteous. He repaired the leaky pipe and honored the estimated I was previously provided, so there were no surprises. He even helped me seal a loose panel where critters were getting in under the hot tub. It wasn’t necessary on his part, but he took the extra few minutes to do so.
I received the same high level of service from Mario when he did our maintenance check. He called in advance and showed up when scheduled. He was also friendly, courteous and very professional. He identified and showed me the leaks and what was needed to fix them. He also explained how to add the chemicals to our tub for regular maintenance in a way that made it easy to manage (since having a hot tub is new to us in our rental). I also didn’t feel pressured to buy an expensive part prematurely, so I appreciated that.
Overall, I would recommend either technician for their expertise and high level of customer service.

We purchased our Cameo Spa in 1999. Over the years we have had very few problems and they were all handled quickly and professionaly by PVS. For the past 5 – 6 years we have also had PVS perform weekly maintanence and have been very pleased with their service. The spa always looks good and the water/​chemicals are perfect. Thank you PVS.

A wonderful experience. Everything was on time and actually early. We love supporting a business such as Sundance. We love our Spa and would never go any place else. We think of you every night as we unwind from our day!

I had a great experience with Paradise Valley Spas. I read these reviews beforehand and was almost convinced that I should go elsewhere. I really wanted the Sundance Cameo, so I went to take a look at it. Tom, our salesman, gave us plenty of time and space to look around, and was courteous when we had questions. He was accessible after the first visit, as we waited for the memorial day sale. Price was reasonable, no complaints. Delivery perfect, and we had our free cleaning and new water put in. I’m happy with the spa and service.

So my experience with PVS was completely different that the other reviewers. Scheduling my appointment was easy. The person handling the calls was courteous and very accommodating. Jody, the technician, was fantastic. He was on time, very professional, and did a great job on the repair even though the access for him was less than ideal.
This is the second time PVS has been out to work on my spa and the last time was equally good. Maybe I have just been lucky.

Paradise Valley Spa’s could not be nicer until you make your purchase, and it goes rapidly downhill from there. Seriously folks, if you are looking for a spa — go elsewhere!
We purchased a top of the line Sundance Optima tub in 2007. So far, we’ve had over 20 service visits, which seems excessive. Paradise Valley’s service department is nothing short of incompetent. They continuously fail to order parts, there’s zero follow up, and when the tub has a problem the issues remain unresolved for months.
Buyer Beware!

Five star rating based on:
1. Being open on a Sunday is worth two stars. Work-​a-​holics who want to be able to touch and see a product to ensure it is the correct filter have few times and hours to make it out.
2. Carrying a wide inventory of older model filters is worth a star. My spa is a 2000 year model that came with the house. it has a weird fitted filter that Sundance has always had in stock when I needed it. and it is a hard filter to cross reference as a part number on the internet so I always want to see it to make sure it is the correct one.
3. The price of the filter at the store was only $ 18.00 more than the cheapest discounter online. That tells me that these people have low margins and probably sit on some of their inventory for a while. Not price gouging in the bay area is nice. this is worth two stars hands down.
They might get another couple of stars if I could give them, the salesman was very friendly and prompt. Also, I dress the same way I did when I was an undergrad and probably dont look the type that can make high end purchases… the salesman gave me a full pro demo of the most expensive item in the store (a top level spa with a motorized roof lift) and did lengthy q&a with me.
Parking can be sketch here but so worth it for pricing!

Great hot tub — when it’s working.
I «inherited» a Sundance spa when I bought my place and it has had to be repaired 3 times AND the cover started leaking and had to be replaced — all well within the 5 year warranty period. The spa has never been moved from it’s original installation location, however as the second owner I was EXEMPTED from the warranty and the repairs have cost hundreds of dollars.
This might be something to consider when shopping for a spa.
The repair person who has been out 3 times is great — timely and totally pro. That’s why this review gets 2 stars instead of 1.

We bought a Marin model at the beginning of 2010 and we love our tub! The delivery guys were fantastic — our installation was a bit tricky, including an incline and they muscled the tub without a scratch. However, the electrician the salesman recommended hadn’t returned our call in over a week (he actually never returned our call) and unable to endure the torture of looking out on our lifeless tub we called Franmore Electric who was out the same day with a free estimate — our tub was up and running two days later and we couldn’t be happier.
