Caesar’s Unfinished Furniture

We looked at several furniture stores to buy a bedroom set for our son but so many beds these days have cushioned fabric for a headboard, which would never survive a toddler. We wanted something made of quality, solid wood, but didn’t want to pay a fortune. Thankfully, we found Caesars! Bobbi was easy to work with and refreshingly not pushy. We were in no rush, so it was no problem for us to wait for a month for the furniture to arrive, and then another 2 – 3 weeks for Bobbi to stain the pieces. This could be a deal breaker for folks who want or need furniture right away. Bobbi did a wonderful job, and we are thrilled with how our boy’s bedroom looks, as well as the final price tag for the set. We will go back to Caesars for future furniture needs. Thanks, Bobbi!

Caesar’s Unfinished Furniture has some of the best customer service I’ve ever encountered. My husband and I (we live in San Francisco) went there to look for furniture for a house we bought recently. The owner showed us everything, explained all the options (for example cabinets that come with either wood or glass doors), told us the handful of manufacturers she deals with have even more options, and gave us one of the manufacturer’s URLs with their online catalog. Some furniture can be bought customized as to size, and a number of finishes are available (the owner will do finishing if you want). The furniture is all wood, sturdy, and the prices are quite reasonable. As a bonus, my husband and I seldom get to San Mateo, and on this trip we discovered that downtown San Mateo has so many restaurants we wished we could eat lunch at several of them.

I was completely ignored. As in, the person at the counter didn’t acknowledge me AT ALL. I walked slowly through the entire store. There was ONE customer there but she was looking through a catalog and didn’t require the worker’s undivided attention. Besides, how tough is it to simply say, «hello» and smile at a new customer walking through the door? I was so amazed at the flat-​out snub I received that I left almost laughing! And guess what? I got no «thank you, come again» as I left. Needless to say, I will not return. So much for supporting that local, small business. I tried.

I’ve been going here for over 25 years — Over the years I have gotten some really nice pieces that last a lifetime. Bobbie is always so helpful and full of good tips and resources for finishing your furniture, or she will do a great custom job for you as well. Very reasonable prices for REAL wood furniture that you won’t have to throw out because it falls apart after a couple of years.

The owner is super helpful. Straight talker who is focused on giving you honest answers instead of selling you stuff. Very friendly services and very accommodating. The quality of the furniture is excellent, way better for what one can get a IKEA yet costing only slight extra. We have become repeat customer. Highly recommended.

My wife and I are looking for a new king size headboard and footboard yesterday the 22^nd. My wife did her homework on reasearching for quality furniture and found these folks.
As we walked into the store, there was only one person working there (the owner) and one potential customer. So, we walked around looking as the owner is talking gibberish with the other woman, we just shook are heads. We looked closely at some of the furniture and thought it was made in the U.S. of A. WRONG! Vietnam, that’s where. I know because while the owner was B.S.‘ing away, I noticed that some of the boxes that the furniture was shipped in had the distributors label still attached. Whittier Wood Furniture for example out of Eugene, Oregon and on the label it showed, «made in Vietnam».
I am not saying that all the furniture is from out of country but, you get what you pay for.
After driving all the way from Antioch and being in the store for about 10 minutes tops, we walked out as the owner was still talking nothing about furniture with the other woman. How we know is that nobody else was in the store and we were within about 8 feet from them.
We’re out of this store… see ya!

For the past 8 years this is the only place where we buy our furniture. Bobbie always helps us find the right piece. Her advice is spot on and her prices are very reasonable. She does a great job on custom staining. Highly recommended.

I wanted furniture that was made out of wood (not particle board) at a reasonable price. After A LOT of looking, I found this was actually a possibility at Caesar’s. Just what I wanted and at a surprisingly reasonable price. Don’t let the «unfinished» part throw you. She’ll stain it for you for a small fee and there is a wall of options to choose the finish you want.

Bobbie is great to work with and the furniture is good quality. I bought a kids table/​chairs set that is reminicent of Pottery Barn stuff and paid a fraction of what it would have cost me if i bought it from PB. And for a nominal fee Bobbie will stain the furniture for you.

I love this place! I’m extremely picky when it comes to furniture (interior design is my hobby) and can’t bring myself to buy the mass produced stuff which is available at Pottery Barn and other major retailers. The quality just makes me too sad. Caesar’s, on the other hand, has an amazing selection of high quality, 100% wood pieces, which you can have custom-​stained in any color you prefer. I recently purchased a dresser from Caesar’s to go with two custom pine cricket tables which I had built for our guest bedroom. The owner took the time to coordinate the stains on each piece perfectly and the finished product was just gorgeous! I have overpaid for high-​end wood pieces in the past, and by comparison, the value at Caesar’s is exceptional. I will definitely return here again for our future furniture needs. I highly recommend this place!

This store is a sort of a «back to basics» no BS place to shop. I love the fact that the owner is there all the time. She does the best work and doesn’t over charge you. She is honest and very detailed in the work that she does

Bobbie is fantastic to work with. We purchased all our bedroom furniture, plus another bookcase, and Bobbie took great care of us, from picking out our pieces to helping us get the right stain and finish. The prices are great, and the quality of the woodworking is excellent.
Highly recommend Caesar’s if you’re looking for unfinished furniture.
