We specialize in the fitting of Internal Free-​form progressive lenses and guarantee our fittings. Additionally, eyeglasses for everyday, evening, sunwear, rimless, SCUBA, swimming, motorcycle, biking, skiing, rachet sports, occupational saftey, children’s sports, golf and tennis. Our prescription glacier sunglasses have been to the summit of Mount Everest.

For people with moderately impaired vision, we carry low-​vision aids.

History

Established in 1958.

In December of 1958, Andrew Joseph Bundy opened Andrew J. Bundy, Optician. At that time the business was a one man operation. Andrew alone ground prescription lenses, dispensed eyeglasses and fitted contact lenses. In 1972 the business expanded to include his son, Gerry. They worked together until Andrew retired in 1978. Gerry is the current owner and manager. Business Awards: «Best of San Mateo County» 1999, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 by the readers of the SMC Times Newspaper. (2006 was the last year the award was given.) «Top rating for quality» 2003, 2005, 2007 and 2010 by the subscribers of Consumer Checkbook residing in San Mateo County. San Francisco Chronicle with Bloomberg, business section, 12−05−10, one of eighteen optical businesses in the San Francisco Bay Area that received a «superior rating for overall quality and service» amongst 175 optical businesses reviewed.

My name is Andrew G. Bundy, but to my customers I’m Gerry. I am the owner and manager of Bundy Opticians and have been so since 1978. I am a Registered Dispensing Optician and a Registered Contact Lens Dispenser credentialed by the state of California. I am a member of the National Academy of Opticianry, Past President of the California Association of Dispensing Opticians (CADO) from 1988 to 1990, and former member of the Board of Directors for the Opticians Program at Canada College, in Redwood City, Ca from 1982 to 1993.
