I had used ProTect Painters a couple of years ago when I had the interior of my home painted and was very pleased with the results.
The exterior trim had started showing its age so when I decided it was time to paint the exterior I contacted Dave again for a quote, which was very competitive with a few others I received. Since I was familiar with the quality of their work, I went with ProTect again and I’m very happy I did.
Color selection is always a challenge for me and Dave was very helpful in both referring me to the Sherwin-​Williams online tools as well as providing photos of his previous work.
The ProTect team did a thorough job of prepping and power washing the entire house to get it ready to paint. Not only did I get the trim painted, but also the entire exterior house body, garage and patio cover painted and it looks great. It’s like a brand new house!
They did a very professional job and I would highly recommend them.

Dave and ProTect Painters painted our 3 unit condo complex and did a great job. Some additional wood work needed to be done and the add-​on charge was very reasonable. The job was done in a timely fashion; the guys cleaned up after themselves and Dave was very attentive to our needs. I have dealt with a lot of painters in the area over the last 20 years and Dave has been one of the most professional and agreeable that I have ever worked with. I highly recommend ProTect Painters.

After working with Dave for Protect Painters I would stress that you go anywhere else. We had our 3500sqft house painted top to bottom. Dave and his team seemed very attentive at first, he said that all of his work was guaranteed and if I ever had any problems with the job that they would rush out and fix the issue. Well, after the job was complete Dave and his team had to come out four times to correct mistakes. To which Dave acted annoyed, he said via text that «he would like this to be the last time.» To which I replied «I wish the first, second, or third was the last time.» There are still places that were missed all together and others that are poorly painted where you can see old yellow paint coming through. Our house was filled with paint dripped baseboards and nicked and scratched furniture.
They left carpet nails sticking out of our baseboards they then painted over… mind you I have a one year old and this was in his play room. When his crew put back our bedroom we had a broken nightstand leg, which Dave apologized and didn’t offer to have fixed. We had to leave town the day the painting was to be completed, later that day we got a call that the crew had broken a lamp. No biggie typically, but given that I couldn’t replace the exact one it was a bit annoying. Especially because this wasn’t the first thing to be broken.
Most recently, I emailed Dave to have our baseboards repainted because the carpet we had installed five days after the painting was completed was very scratched and dented. I asked Dave to come over and bid the job. After a while a talking with Home Depot I finally got reimbursement for the baseboard repaint. I emailed Dave and said I’m ready to put this on the books. I also touched on the issue of care in handling our furnishings and the additional issues from the previous paint job. When he replied he didn’t even address my concerns about our things or the missed spots. He was very short and said they were very busy and he wasn’t interested in chasing down money… as if that had been an issue before.
I told him I would be out of the country with limited service so I would reconfirm when I returned. My husband received an email about me not getting back to him to which my husband said I was out of the county and would reply when I returned. I got an email from Dave stating that he never heard back (because I was out of the country) and that he was going to have to keep the previously agreed on date… well yeah, that’s why we agreed on it.
Over all of our correspondence I didn’t get the feeling he was ever about customer service, he was short, uncaring, annoyed, and at some points rude. When I told him that I was going to go with someone else he replied «good luck with that.» As if it could get worse, I doubt it. I know that he and his crew are capable of good work, because we were referred by someone who had a great experience. I just wish that we would have had the same.

I’ve used a lot of different painters for my real esate business. I needed a job done pretty quickly and Dave was able to make it happen. The quote was also competitive. Their work was great — good attention to detail, finished early and great clean-​up as well. I also liked the professionalism of Dave and his team. Good people to work with!
