Fan Diego

I came in looking for a replace side glass for my ceiling fan after going to home depot and Lowes and being unsuccessful.
I spoke to Jessica and she was able to find the replacement glass within a few minutes. She was very helpful and super knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend coming here for any fan parts and accessories.
Customer service is definitely a plus here!

This was initially to be a five star review but I was pretty disappointed by the customer service I received here today–
My husband and I recently purchased three fans here, not because it was the least expensive but because we were in need of good service & happy to pay for it. Ordering online can obviously be more economical but in this case was not convenient because it’s very confusing at times– we wanted to see the products in person & have flexibility in terms of exchanging if the color was off etc. we headed back into the store today and after being previously assured we could exchange an item were denied the exchange because the blades had been put on our fan. I was unsure if I wanted something so dark & wanted to try out a lighter option. I was told that they could no longer sell the blades as «new» although they were only removed from packaging & installed the day before & had made our purchase approximately 2 weeks ago. This is fine, if this is the policy but I was disappointed that after inquiring about the exchange process & asking if I could switch out items if they did not work this was not clearly stated at all while making my initial purchase. We won’t be going back to this fan store in the future as a result.

I went into this location to return a part and was helped by Jeanie. I told her what was going on with my ceiling fans. She immediately told me what was wrong with my fans and how to fix it free of charge. I went home and immediately figured out how to fix my ceiling fans with her advice. Amazing! She could not have been any more helpful. As a new homeowner, I really appreciate the specialty advice recieved. This contrasts sharply from the big box stores like home depot. I look forward to coming again in the future. They already have my future business.

I am writing a follow up review as I had to have the Minka Aire Aviator fan replaced again. Due to a power surge, the fan would no longer change speeds. This is the same issue that I had last year. I called Fan Diego and they reached out to Minka. Minka replaced the entire fan and did a complete quality control check on the new unit prior to shipping it out. Today, John (tech) from Fan Diego came to my home to replace the fan and add a surge protector (varistor), to protect the sending unit from future power surges. John was very helpful and informative with respect to what had happened and how adding the varistor would prevent future surges from damaging the fan. He also explained the operation of the fan/​remote and encouraged me to leave it on all year as it needs to have ongoing movement because of the operation of the fan (complicated and i won’t bore anyone with the details, but it was very interesting). I thanked John for his work and he left. I called the store to let the manager, Jessica, know what an outstanding job John had done. I was informed that he is the owner of the Fan Diego stores. I was surprised to hear this as he was unassuming and never mentioned his affiliation with the store. I could not more highly recommend Fan Diego for the purchase of any fan as the service after the sale is exemplary. I will never buy a fan from any other entity. Thank you to everyone at Fan Diego for your professionalism and dedication to superior customer service!

Absolutely horrible experience, as well as equally horrible customer service.
I wanted to support a local business instead of buying a fan from home depot.
I buy two fans since the heat is coming and see a fan that looked nice and ordered two of them. I received a receipt as well as a confirmation the next day about my order.
I purchased these online since I recently fractured my back and cannot go out. I then receive a phone call saying they cannot honor the price and that the price was a glitch on their website due to an an update. They then call me but I could not answer due to me being at the hospital and they simply cancel my order and simply say they won’t honor it.
I am a manager myself and I know the golden rule of customer service, the customer is always right. As well as assuring they we honor everything that is advertised, it doesn’t matter if it was our mistake our a glitch or whatever it may be, if we displayed a price online and the customer actually purchased it, we must honor it.
I will be reporting this company to the better business bureau as well as taking them to court!

This place is great. I didn’t even realize how much there was to know about fans; sizes, number of blades, high ceiling fans versus low ceiling fans. Jessica really knows her stuff. I was able to custom order colors and sizes I wanted, glass fixtures I wanted etc. She knew about lighting and how each bulb wattage can be used in a room, how each type of glass emits the light, having light fixtures facing upwards or downwards. Advised me what size fan to use in each room depending on it’s size. She even gave me advice that led bulbs were on sale at costco. I have piece of mind that any problems, I can go right back there… not like home depot. if it stops working in two years, you throw it away and buy another one. I am even going back now to pick out foyer lighting and chandelier.

GREAT customer service! I got 4 fan kits elsewhere and it didn’t come with the supplies I needed (supplied 3″ down rod was too short). My electrician told me beforehand to go to Home Depot to get a longer one, BOTH Home Depot and Leow’s only had 12″ or 18″ so I bought the shortest one. Of course, I needed a 6″ down rod so my electrician was furious when I told him the 4 fans he just installed were hanging too low for my taste. I called Fan Diego and they had 3 rods available in the color I needed the 4^th would need to be cut down to size and threaded on premises (Home Depot or Loew’s would be unable to do this on the spot). When I got there Ralph had everything waiting AND took the initiative of painting the 4^th one in the size and color I needed instead of cutting and threading a larger one. The painted rod was dry when I got there 20 minutes after my phone call. Ralph attended me cheerfully, respectfully, and professionally AND besides the time and $ 30 he saved me for thinking outside the box he made me and my electrician very, very happy. If there were 10 stars possible I’d give Fan Diego San Marcos a 10! Lesson learned: don’t cut corners, go to the experts who know the product inside and out and get all the supplies there — it’ll be done right the first time.

I gotta admit… after a full Padres season of seeing the commercials and strutting around singing their jingle we had to check them out. The damn jingle worked. «Fan Diego, we’ll make a fan out of you!»
It was a big trek for us and we definitely had sticker shock when we first walked in (and ouch my neck!)…we came in planning to buy 3 fans and we left with 2 — that’s as far as this month’s budget would stretch. We were sick of going the Home Depot/Lowe’s route and wanted to check these guys out. The reason the prices are high is definitely because it’s high quality here — from the fans to the associates. If you have something specific in mind and don’t see it you can ABSOLUTELY build your own fan here — pretty cool.
We were fortunate to be helped out by the friendly, funny, and informative Ralph — he was really great at explaining some of the different fans and options for what we were looking for. Everyone we did talk to there was super friendly and helpful. They truly did make fans out of us!

We bought two fans from FanDiego last year and were very happy with them. Ralph was very helpful and knowledgeable, and supplied us with all we needed to get them successfully installed (he also recommended Robert from All Star Electric who did a great job installing them). We just went back this month for another fan and got the same great service and fair price.

I’m new to writing reviews, but this is such an outstanding place, I couldn’t resist commenting on their great service and personable associates. You don’t find this very often.
I had never been in this particular Fan Diego store prior to our search for a new ceiling fan but when I went to this store I felt like I had known these people for a long time and we dealt with several of the people that worked in this store. This was more like an experience in a small town where everyone knows everyone else. Very personable and extremely patient.
Aside from that, they have a great selection, everyone in the store knows even the most intricate details about ceiling fans and they share that knowledge for the specific needs of their customers. They have catalogs if you don’t find exactly what you want on display or can recommend web sites, if you want. They are into making sure you get the correct fan for the application.
I would say that you can’t go wrong with this place. We were extremely happy with all aspects of our experience.

Amazing service! They were very patient while we shopped for the best fan to replace our bedroom ceiling fan. We needed one with a light and remote and it needed to be quiet. We chose a Casa Blanca fan and surprisingly the price was the exact same price as we found on Amazon. The best part… they worked with us to add the light we wanted that was not a Casa Blanca light. They went out of their way to find the color glass I preferred and they even had a special where we got the remote for free. (a $ 75 value). Yes they have high end stuff but this was a great value. Fan was $ 319 and with the light very reasonably priced. Yes they have higher priced fans but they have fans for almost everyone and the price matches the value. Cheap doesn’t always mean it’s a great deal!
This will be the first place I come next time and I would recommend it to anyone in need of a new fan.

I was looking to purchase 3 fans for my new house and FanDiego was the perfect place. I can’t say enough about Jessica Cooper and the whole team helping me.
We had to exchange a fan and they work with the other San Diego/​Murrieta locations.
They even gave me a deal for buying all 3 at once which I am sure Lowe’s/Home.
If you are shopping for quality fans and quality service you this is your place!

Jeannie (sp) was wonderfully patient with my indecisiveness and lack of knowledge re. ceiling fans. She provided an abundance of information and didn’t show frustration when I left the store without making a purchase. I was happy to return the next day to buy my chosen fan. Jeannie even helped with an adapter which will better suit my installation needs.

4 Stars = «Yay! I’m a fan.» Get it? FAN. Because it’s a fan store. It isn’t funny if I have to explain the pun to you. Why do you always do this?
Look, I’m not going to lie to you: this place isn’t for everyone. The fans are high quality, and the price tags match as much. My wife and I come in once a year, with our tax return check, to purchase an upgrade for the house. They’ve got a better selection of fans available than we’ve found anywhere else, and we spent our time shopping around. The employees are nice, although there’s one that can get a little bit used-​car-​salesman on you.
Give this place a shot if you’re in the market for a new fan. I believe they’ve got a second location if you aren’t fortunate enough to live in NC. There’s no obligation to buy! Tent Sale! [insert other typical sales marketing tool here].

What wonderful service! Helpful, knowledgeable, efficient … Robert listened to what we needed, showed us options, made suggestions for alternatives and sold us two ceiling fans that were installed a few days later and have been working perfectly! Could not have asked for anything better. Great customer service. Look no further for your fan needs!

Definitely go here if you need a ceiling fan… I’m writing this review after our 2^nd trip to the store.
First visit… we had no clue what we wanted /​the guy at the store gave us the 411, a catalog, and a lot to think about. after about an hour q&a, we left and went to Lowes… ended up buying a cheaper fan there (mistake!)
After about a month, our affordably priced fan from Lowes started making weird noises so we returned it to Lowes and went back to Fan Diego to the fan we should’ve gotten in the first place!
Second visit… same guy, same great service. Actually both sales folks were great and very friendly and helpful. This time we went in having narrowed down our selections to three; after talking to the sales guy, easily made the selection we wanted. We paid a little more but in this case, as the saying goes, you get what you pay for!
Save yourself the time and effort and just go buy your fan here FIRST!!!
No matter what your décor style is, they have a fan for you. its a small store but amazing the # of fans in stock. Also, they have all the catalogs you would ever want and they’ll share them with you! We’ll definitely be going back when we’re ready to get a ceiling fan in our dining room!

The absolute best customer service experience I’ve had lately. I almost bout 5 ceiling fans from Home Depot, but after the lack luster service I still had questions. Rob at the San Marcos location was awesome, even said to call his cell phone if we needed help installing it. The install went well and we will be buying the rest of out fans here!

Years ago (nearly 10 or so), we stumbled on Fan Diego when we were looking at ceiling fans for our new home.
We purchased 5 fans for our home (family room, guest room, mother-​in-​law unit, gym and bonus room) from the owners daughter, Jessica who helped us select each one. We could not be happier with any of our selections and never had issue with them. In fact, to this day, we get so many compliments on the one we have in the family room — so much my sister ended up purchasing the same one for her home. So, when one of the fans needed a light fixture attachment, we knew a visit to Fan Diego was in order.
This visit, Rob helped us out and provided the same excellent customer service we received many years ago. We were prepared to purchase a new fan if we couldn’t find the right light fixture attachment but Rob was able to look up which fans we purchased all those years ago and let us know exactly what fixture we needed. We were amazed. He didn’t try to sell us a new fan, he just gave us exactly what we needed.
I love family owned stores like Fan Diego who know what great customer service is all about. We will continue to go to Fan Diego for all our fan needs… and think you should too!

We have just had the best experience with Fan Diego. After dealing with an electrician who sent us to HD to find a fan; we took it upon ourselfs to do a little more research. Our Casa Blanca needed to be repaired or replaced, when we walked into Fan Diego, Marion told us that they do those types of repairs. She told us what was likely wrong with the fan and the price it would be to repair it. She also went a step further to check the serial number and validate the warranty and other information on the fan.
We left the fan with them for repair and two days later it was done. When we picked it up; a VERY helpful man told us what happend, gave us instructions and charged us the very fair price that Marion had quoted us. We are satisfied customers. It is rare when one gets what they pay for but in this instance we did.
Fan Diego has many different varieties of fans as well as a large selection fo lighting; and Marion is now helping me decide which sconces to buy.
I would highly recommend this store to anyone who needs a fan or lighting.

We visited the home improvement stores and did extensive online research before visiting the Fan Diego store in San Marcos. Marion assisted us and without hovering or being at all pushy, she gave us really helpful guidance and information –she really knows her fans! There were a number of nice quality fans on sale and we felt the prices were fair, so we bought the six we needed. We were unable to take deliver of the fans for several weeks and they very graciously stored them in their shop for us.
Having read a LOT of comments online about noisy or wobbly fans and quality issues we knew we wanted to avoid such problems. So we opted to buy them from Fan Diego where we feel confident they will help out if we have any concerns.
